La habitacion estaba super , la ubicacion tambien. La unica razon por cual puse 4 en ves de 5 es porque el restaurante es una decepcion. Con todos los lugares lindos que hay en granada, esta sala de comedor no da ganas de comer en el hotel en ningun tiempo de comida, es una lastima. Comimos desayuno y esta OK, ni bueno , ni malo. El personal es lindo, es un lindo hotel. Deberian pedir las llaves de los huespedes que se parquean porque casi perdimos nuestro ferry por estar bloqueado en el parqueo del hotel por otros carros, nadie sabia de quien eran estos carros que bloqueaban el mio y fue un poquito estresante sentir que no teniamos solucion. Tuvimos la suerte que justo el huesped aparecio pero se podria tener un mejor menejo de esto a futuro.

Booked three rooms. Other rooms were great but room 20 had a horrible sewer pipe smell in the bathroom. The room had no windows for ventilation and I literally felt like I was showering with this smell that was so intense. I advised the front desk about this problem at check out in the early morning since I had to leave and they said they would let the manager know. The hotel is beautiful and well located but I would stay away from room 20 until they fix this issue.

Only a few blocks from some of the main attractions of the city. Very nice facilities. Beautifully done remodel of an old historical building. We really enjoyed our stay. Off street secured parking. On our first morning after arriving, we woke up to a flat tire. The staff immediately came out and helped us change it. Didn’t even have to ask.

Fabulous hotel by the main square

Wow this place was amazing. Loved all the building colors, the plants, the pools. The room was spacious and the bathroom was perfect. A little dark, but better to keep the temperature down. Breakfast was copious and delicious! And the price was great I hope the new owners don’t ch age this by doing unneeded renovations!

From the street this property is unassuming as most in the town are, but the property is anything but. There rooms are great sizes with excellent aircon. Built in early 2000’s in replica old style as the area is, Spanish influenced. Two great pools inside so room to escape the heat with lots of shade. Staff very nice and helpful. Able to smoke outside the rooms, excellent breakfast too with lots of coffee. Walk to all the major places and plenty of cheap food options nearby, atm and supermarket 50m walk. On-site car park too. Can’t wait to return.

The customer service in this hotel is outstanding. The staff go above and beyond to make it a great stay. Excellent location. All you need for breakfast, good choice. 2 great pools. Comfortable bed, we slept well. Good housekeeping everyday, the rooms were spotless. Beautiful building and architecture. Wished we had stayed longer.

The hotel clean and in excellent area. Me issue was with the room location for two nights. Checked in and laid down to rest and was suddenly itching all over. At first thought mites or bedbugs. Then I realized the room had many mosquitoes. Went to report to front desk who.knew immediately what was wrong and they thankfully sprayed the room. When I returned, I noticed in the sitting areas outside of the room the maids had set up their carts and were seperating laudry which I thought odd. It was as if entrying your room, in a not inexpensive hotel, through a maid's closet. The wifi in the room did not work. I had to go to the small adjacent pool area to use WiFi which also had mosquitoes unfortunately. Before 6 am was awakened to.cleaning staff bagging 5 or 6 huge bags of laundry in front of my room and then running up and down the tile staircase in front of the room. Again discussed with front desk
On that full day, maids cart and 3 maids again outside my room bagging, eating, and on cell phones outside the room. I walk with a cane and difficult to navigate but again like being in storage closet
WiFi still did not work. Discussed with front desk. Showed him internet failure and scene in front of room. Said maybe he could move me. But as I was leaving the next morning and did not want to move myself, there is no porter service, stayed in room
Thankful was not awakened at 5 30 am again

It's got a good potential but not taken care of. No restaurants or bars were open except for breakfast time when one was open but with one single item for breakfast.Our room was super dusty or mouldy and it was hard to breath. The booking said that we have a free parking but we only got it on the 1st day as the 2nd day the entire parking was taken away as the hotel was renting it from a nearby property.

A quiet oasis in downtown Granada

A beautiful, classic colonial style hotel with two swimming pools. The pools were well maintained and the water crystal clear and refreshing. The hotel is in an excellent location –across from the plaza. Great restaurants and the cathedral and other landmarks are easily accessible by foot The rooms were large, bed comfy and shower extraordinary strong and hot. The breakfast was delicious and sufficient with refill coffee available continuously. Receptionist speaks English and able to give excellent tips on restaurants, tours and shuttle buses. The great price made it even sweeter.

I can only really complain about the two major and really only issues that repeated day after day. Every time I wanted to bathe, day or nite, I had to call for water and then for hot water. Second, they turn off the hall lights in the back of the hotel where my room was which I advised the owner was not only VERY scary, but dangerous and it kept happening. Beautiful place!! AC works great!!

We had an amazing time in the historical city of Granada. The Hotel Colonial Granada and city exceeded our expectations. The people were amazing and we felt completely safe no matter where we ventured any time day or night! We enjoyed roaming around the city on foot visiting the beautiful cathedrals. There is a wide variety of wonderful restaurants to choose from and many local art galleries to visit. There are also many trips to nearby attractions which can be could book from the hotel. Some of the attractions include visiting volcanoes, kayak and boat trips, and trips to the Laguna de Apoyo to relax and swim. All of the staff at the hotel were excellent & helpful and we enjoyed having several great conversations. We highly recommend staying at the Hotel Colonial Granada!!!

Having stayed in Granada before but never at this hotel, I was pleasantly surprised how clean, friendly and comfortable The Colonial was. The staff was superb, the location was virtually on The Central Park by the Basillica and The Calzada with all the shops and eateries was one block away. Being on a side street it was much more quite than the other hotels I had stayed in. Truly delightful and would stay again.

Quiet, Comfortable & Well-Located

Stayed at Hotel Colonial for three nights. While not fancy or having many amenities (except two very beautiful small pools, a small restaurant for breakfast and a small bar), Hotel Colonial was very, very comfortable. We had drinks at the little bar every evening, sitting out on the bar's patio which was located in the one of the courtyards. The room had air conditioning which was effective and efficient, a very comfortable bed, and a bathroom with abundant hot water. Best yet, the hotel is located 1/2-block off of the main square of Granada, so we were right in the center of things. I'd stay here again in a minute!

Internet was so sketchy, and when planning your trips on the run, this proved to be extremely inconvenient.

I struggled to plan the onward sectors of my trip due to the poor/non-existent internet service.

Aircon was broken on arrival and took a day to fix.

Pools were nice although they had a strange smell to them.

My room was on the corner and through traffic noise was quite substantial.

There was also a small ant infestation in the bathroom which was annoying.

The hotel oozes old world Colonial charm and is in a fabulous location on the central park of Granada. The staff anticipates the needs of their guests and goes out of their way to please and attend to the satisfaction of their guests. There are two small pools that are nicely placed on the grounds. Hotel transfer service to and from the Managua airport was perfect and the drivers, Julian and Wilfred, were extremely helpful and polite. They also conducted tours for me and were very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this hotel.

\"5 Star Prices... 2 Star STAY/SERVICE...\"

I wont be going back. Very disappointed. I will make this short, and to the point. Whatever you do don't get a room on the second floor facing the street. The noise was off the chart, heat rises, so your very warm upstairs. A.C only works while your in the room. Lights are operated by a key card once you get in. You have to leave the key card in the slot to keep the lights on, and the AC to work. So if you leave your room and want to leave the AC on, and have a NICE COOL room to comeback too, forget it... Not happening... The ceiling fan in the room doesn't do much good either. On one of the mornings I woke up to start my day, I had to call down to the front desk, there was no water... There are water shortages from time to time I was told... 30 min later, I had water. Now as for the (Staff)... Mixed bag, some friendly, some didn't care, or just rude. As for Breakfast... It was about the only thing that was good. Worth the $ paid. Now as for WIFI.... LOL... Very limited, or no signal in your room. You have to be in the lobby, and outside near the pool for any type of signal. (It's free, but very hard to get going. Lastly, You cannot have any guests in your room! No visitors, or you get charged... Rooms, are dated, bed was so-so (next to hard). Only nice thing about where the hotel is located... Central Park is right outside the lobby door...

Great location right off the square, nice helpful English speaking staff, refreshing pool setting, comfortable big room. I would recommend this hotel. Only setback was the coffee was a bit much (a dollar a small cup). Did not know that before I drank three of them. Had I known, I'd have opted for their three dollar small breakfast with I am sure, had endless coffee. But definitely not a deal killer, just dumb on my part.

Great hotel in the center of Granada. The room was very clean and everything worked. The pool is also very nice and the staff was friendly. No complaints.

Hotel colonial was the perfect choice.

We loved our stay at hotel colonial granada. My daughter & i loved our room & our beautiful balcony view of the main square & cathedral. We appreciated cooling off in the pool in the inner courtyard & the seevice was outstanding.

Pricey by Nicaraguan standards but worth it. We had a large and clean double bed room with a large bathroom. The pool was great.

Pleasantly Surprises

Safe place to go at the end of the day. Very friendly and helpful people. Quaint. Highly recommended. We hired a driver for the day and ran into issues with the Traffic Police on the Transamerica Highway. Without the help of the driver and the hotel staff the ending might have been very different than it was. Grateful for their help.

Perfect Location and Staff

The hotel is centrally-located with very helpful, informative staff members. The room was clean and comfortable, the two pools were a refreshing respite from the heat. If we return to Granada, we will definitely stay here.

Great time and was sorry to have to leave.

My wife and I had a great time and enjoyed the comfort and style of the hotel very much. The sevice was excellent and the hotel is well located at the city center.
