Our stay was great from start to finish! Firstly, the location is walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, the market, etc. every staff member we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We booked the superior suite and the room/bathroom was spacious and clean. We also had hot water which was something we didn’t always find in Nicaragua! And finally the breakfast every morning was lovely. I would 100% recommend and stay at this hotel again.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally attentive and always willing to help with anything I needed. The food was delicious, although breakfast options were somewhat limited. However, there are plenty of great places nearby where you can enjoy a tasty meal. The hotel was spotless and felt very safe. Best of all, it’s centrally located within walking distance of everything. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Extremely friendly staff and a very good central location close to all. We booked a king bed room but were told on arrival that they were sold out and we had to accept a queen bed room. No price adjustment or other accommodation was offered which was disappointing. We had an upstairs suite (2 rooms) and the air conditioner was not strong enough to cool the room and it was quite warm. The bed wasn't all comfortable either. I asked to borrow an iron and was told the hotel didn't have any. I found that to be very unusual. Most hotels have at least a couple irons for guests use if not one in every room.

Very easy access to the market for shopping and dining. Walking distance from the central park and easy access to transportation. As sugestión they need to work on the breakfast menu, the same breakfast every day and repeat it for your stay is really a killer. Fruits need to be washed with bottled water otherwise well water will get you sick. Work on better communication with the front desk, restaurant staff always want to charge you for everything. Hopefully they will get better soon. Planning to come back soon.

Beautiful historic colonial style hotel. Very large comfortable rooms, quality bedding, AC, safe, mini frdge, beautiful clean pool and garden in the main courtyard. Excellent Staff were all so kind and welcoming.
Its a well managed small boutique hotel.
Central park, restaurant zone, colonial churches are all within a 5 minute walk.

When our kids were noisy one morning (and disruptive to another guest) the staff approached us with exceptional professionalism. It’s never an easy situation to navigate, showed consideration for all involved, and impressed me.
Staff helped us to arranged transport to several activities, all of which was punctual.
Location is quiet but very close (<5 min walk) to the central square.

This has become my favourite hotel in Granada. It is beautifully decorated, the rooms are immaculate and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The breakfast included was delicious, and the two guys working there Jaime and Brandon were very attentive - excellent workers.

The hotel is located a block away from the central park and close to all the best restaurants. Will be staying here again.

Short but sweet stay in Granada

Very nice one night stay at Casa Del Consulado in December 2021. We were the only couple in the hotel as Granada is slowly returning to normal tourist activity. The hotel manager, Jaime, was extremely attentive, ensuring that our stay was a good one. Some noise as it was payday on the 15th and nearby bars and restaurants were busy. Overall a beautiful hotel and great staff.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa del Consulado. It was a lovely property with open courtyards and a lovely pool. Our room was spacious and it was nice to have air conditioning. The shower was HUGE! They included a delicious breakfast each morning (we had around 8 options to choose from). In addition, the location was excellent... only a block or so away from the main square and Cathedral as well as the pedestrian street that was lined with shops, bars and restaurants. Granada is such a beautiful colonial town. I would highly recommend it. And if there, be sure to get up to the Masaya volcano one evening to check out the amazing lava splashing around in there!!

Great hotel for your money

The layout was amazing with an open view of the sky in the center of the hotel. We had to switch rooms after two days because of a problem with the water pump in the first room. However, both rooms were nice and each shower was spacious, as well as unique. The staff was super friendly and attending to everything we asked. The restaurant owner in the front of the hotel ( Juan) was extremely helpful with assisting with advice, cab service, and recommendations. Probably one of our favorite aspects of the hotel was the breakfast. You have the option of ordering an omelet, a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast that contains rice and beans, a fruit breakfast, and several other options.

Very nice hotel in the center of Granada. Excellent spot from where to visit the city. Rooms are large and very comfortable for families. The swimming pool helps a lot if you are traveling with kids for making a stop in the middle of the day to recoup some energy. Parking is a few blocks away but not a major nuisance unless you plan to get in and out of the hotel several times a day. But in that case, you can usually park on the street right in front of the hotel.

Almost, but not quite worth the money.

We had 2 nights here during high season (over Christmas holidays). The rooms were large, but had paper thin walls and werent cleaned well. The staff was courteous but not completely friendly. The location is excellant, and the pool is beautiful, though super cold. The breakfast was large and delicious, however the majority of the dishes on the table were stained, or actually dirty.

Over all, the hotel is beautiful but definitely not worth the expense. There are many many other options in Granada for a much lower price, and greater value.

The Hotel Consulado is in an old Spanish Colonial casa just over 1 block from the central plaza on a normally quiet street (except on Christmas eve due to fireworks). The building is lovely and the rooms comfortable. My wife spent a lot of time in the hammock upstairs on the patio.

Stayed for 6 nights including New Year's Eve. The hotel is in a great location just blocks from the central plaza. Everyone who worked there was professional & friendly. The hotel was small & quiet and beautifully decorated. The choices of breakfasts changed each day and ranged from the typical Nicaraguan breakfast to pancakes. The room was clean, spacious & comfortable and unique with remote control blinds and a semi-private patio. Its location afforded privacy and a quiet refuge from the noisy streets. Would stay there again.

I enjoyed it very much. Very friendly staff. The room was as advertised. Good proximity to everything that you'll want to see. Safe, but don't stray too far from the main attractions. A/C worked very well. Bar in hotel was friendly and had average prices. The small pool is relaxing. The breakfast was above average, but not excellent.

Offputting hotel with ZERO amenities

This hotel would be great if it was actually an hotel. The employees say it has been around for three years, but it seems like someone just opened a large building and started renting rooms out. There are zero amenities. The \"free breakfast\" is an egg omelet and a piece of toast, some juice, and coffee if you're lucky. Upon arrival, I knew there would be a problem because the parking is literally four blocks away. The parking closer to the hotel is \"filled with our cars.\" (Their words). They don't park your car for you. Then we asked for extra towels to go to the pool and we were instructed that we would need to use the towels in the room and they would change them out the next day. Later, I found out that there were only two rooms of the hotel being used so they could have easily provided extra towels for the pool. I asked for ice and they told me I could go to the quick shop and buy my own ice and store in their freezer. At this point, I was a little aghast. Hotel or am I just sleeping in someone's extra bedroom? Finally, I asked for blankets, since we sleep with blanks and not a paper thin top sheet. He said they had no blankets but he would check. He found one and left it on the table outside for me to find. Finally, since we had been living out of our suitcase we needed an iron to look presentable at dinner. They had none. This is a big building masking itself as a hotel. I told the manager before we left that it was one big disappointment.

Great place to stay in Granda! About an hour from the airport by taxi for $50. Close to church and main square. Could walk to bars/rest/stores/tour companies. Staff was friendly and breakfast was included. The bed was on the really really firm side but room was big and very clean. I would stay here again.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights. The best thing about the hotel was the location to the main activities. While staff was pleasant, they did not always go out of their way. The room they initially wanted to give us located in the corner, outside the pool area, was unacceptable - no window, dark, dank and very musty. It felt and smelt like a cave. We asked for another room and thankfully they were able to accommodate us with a nice, large and bright room on the second floor. The first morning we had to wait 30 minutes for breakfast, even though staff was just \"hanging around\". The least they could have done was offer coffee while we waited. It wasn't until we brought to their attention we had a schedule to follow (at 8:30), they finally started breakfast. While breakfast was complementary, you had to ask for the basics - jam for toast and juice, etc. The water in the courtyard pool is very cold as it gets sun only a couple of hours a day. Overall, the small hotel was okay. Staff was helpful in recommending places to see, things to do, and getting us transportation.

Quaint, quiet, with impeccable customer service

The hotel is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay within walking distance to the central park and cathedral as well as restaurants and bars. There are only nine rooms, so the atmosphere is intimate. There is a beautifully arranged courtyard and pool. Breakfast was the best we had in Nicaragua with several choices, fresh fruit juices, and beautiful/smooth coffee. The only awkwardness was the enormous bathroom that was not ventilated. We found that our bathroom on the hottest day was like a sauna. The hotel staff were very helpful and provided extra pillows and towels on request, and even had a cell phone charger that I could borrow when I left mine in another hotel on the trip. Staff also had a good knowledge of the city of Granada, tours, recommended good restaurants, and identified several places to purchase the best cigars/coffee/souvenirs. Overall, we felt really good about this booking and would encourage anyone else to book this hotel as well.

I said it before and I'll say it again: Excellent!

It was FANTASTIC! There's no better deal or nicer hotel in Granada. Our room door opened right onto the (quiet) pool. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel, itself, was magnificent. Don't bother looking elsewhere--unless you feel like shelling out significantly more $$$.
