SIDE SIDE VIEW was not a sea view that’s why I booked this hotel to SEE THE SEA and all I seen was the street you literally have to STICK YOU ENTIRE GEAD OUT IF THE BALCONY and turn your head to the SUDE to see a little bit of the sea BOT WORTH IT

The shower in the bathroom so badly the water does not work. The shower is supposed to be in the front of you. They have the Shawer in the middle of the Ponyo an old fashion way.

Overall it was a good stay. I would've given it 4.5 stars if I could.

The only thing I don't like is how high off the ground the bathtubs are. Very unnaturally high and one might easily hurt themselves going in or out of it.

There was no bag in the bathroom garbage can and under the bed was really dusty.

I also didn't appreciate that I had to pay extra to use the hot tub.

I would go there again.

A nice hotel in a great location near restaurants, cafes, and across from the sea. The hotel is packed with Egyptians on vacation which is a good sign. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Hotel is large with multiple restaurants, we tried the Lebanese and it was good. Our room was average eventhough we paid for Deluxe. We had great room cleaning crew, Muemin and Khamees. They were polite and efficient and also took care of us and checked in to make sure our room was in condition we wanted. We really appreciated them.

An excellent location in the heart of Alexandria. Staff are very friendly, food is great.

The area is mainly for local tourists and not convenient for foreigners. Literally no one can speak English. Buildings are very very old. Streets are very dirty and unsafe to walk or cross. People smoke almost everywhere inside and outside of the hotel, shops, restaurants,…. Not recommended anymore.

Tolip Alexandria was advertised on the Hotels.com website as a 5-star hotel. I would give it at most 3 stars. its a huge hotel, yes but dark and dingy lobby and sitting areas. it is a very old hotel and shows it, everywhere feels dark and dinghy, rooms are not very clean, when i opened the patio door and then went to close it, the outside of the door was caked in dust and dirt like it had never been cleaned. Staff took forever to do anything. room was not ready, promised one thing that changed to another. breakfast was okay - the yogurt at the breakfast buffet was not even cold - how can you eat diary that feels warm to the touch. Very, very disappointing stay; ruined my vacation. the hotel put me in such a bad mood, was difficult to enjoy anything not that there is much to enjoy about Alexandria. they advertised a private beach which is not at the hotel; you have to be shuttled to it but shuttle was closed due to \"winter\" though it was quite hot when i was there. very disappointing.

Downside is many things: Rooms & bathrooms are really outdated and not well maintained, bedding and towels are super old, toiletry products are very bad quality, in-room food is not the best. Pool is always crowded and not overlooking the great view of the beach. Overall poor management and not paying attention to details.

The Tolip is posh. We booked a 2-night stay here only because we changed our cell chip to a local number and the hotel.com app gave us this option. However, the rate was for Egyptian residents only. When we arrived at the front desk, we had to pay an extra 155 dollars. Because of a promotion, the front desk clerk gave us an upgrade to a room with partial view to the ocean across the large avenue. Breakfast was included, which was very good with all the essentials - fruits, breads, vegetables, yogourt, tea, coffee and a chef to prepare omelettes to taste. The breakfast restaurant is on the 11th floor with a fabulous view of the Mediterranean. Our room was clean, spacious, bright, nice bed, large balcony. From this hotel you can walk for kilometres all along the seawall towards the west. This is a resort hotel with a pool, spa and several restaurants and coffee shops perfectly for those tourists, who like to stay in their hotel and take advantage of the amenities.

Check in required multiple calls to the hotel and a call to Expedia customer service who has helped to resolve the problem which was that the hotel front desk couldn’t “see” the reservation despite the reservation being confirmed a few days ahead and paid in full. Then the room was very basic and had no amenities whatsoever despite the cost of 86$/night !!!

Cleanliness is none existent in this hotel which is a shame because the actual hotel looks nice. We were a group of 6 with 3 rooms and all 3 rooms were extremely dirty, specially the bathrooms. The poll water was also not clean.The private beach they have is very small and we had to beg for towels as every time we went to ask we were told to wait 5 minutes because they didn't have any. I could go on and on.
Avoid this hotel.

I did not like the way of dealing, responses and behavior of all hotel staff/ employees, especially the front desk staff, and whoever answered the phone when I called them from my room, their responses were characterized by lack of taste and respect and you do not find such behavior in a two-star hotel or even a one-star hotel, in short, hotel management is A failed and does not have the slightest idea about hotel management and the staff are unprofessional and act with the utmost indifference, arrogance and lack of any sense of responsibility. The air conditioning is very noisy and the room’s furniture is old and worn out, and it seems that there is no regular maintenance for the devices, furniture and mattresses, and the appearance of the room is far and completely different from the pictures on booking and other websites on the Internet, I recommend changing the hotel management and many of the hotel staff and replacing them with more professional ones and Respected people, and the renewal of furniture, ,air conditioning devices, and Tv's, finally i don't recommend that hotel, i hope if the hotel owners take our reviews seriously and take an action to save the hotel reputation and make it as other good five stars hotels, because right now it's not more than an average three stars hotel.

-Room is so ordinary.
-floors are not vacuumed.
-rest room (toilet/shower) are not clean shiny white!
No hand soap on sink.
-No fridge.
-No microwave.
-No outside food.

Great location very friendly staff the rooms are very spacious and comfortable the hotel is very spacious the lobby is spacious extremely safe. I love this hotel I always book there never had a problem and if I had an issue in the room or needed something they respond immediately and if I get pored in the night I just go down to the lobby they have multiple seating areas u could even walk around. And great breakfast and I Exercise mostly every day I’m happy with the gym equipment that they have everything is there I needed. I always choose side sea view room very nice choice and great price.

The worst view ever

Room was good, but the view is the worst i’ve ever seen. I booked a room with “sea” and pool view, to discover that the room is actually “side” sea view, i talked to the receptionist and e plained to me that this is there definition to a sea view room!!!! The balcony door’s glass was transparent so u can see the other guests on the opposite side, and of course they can see u,,, so most of the time we were using the blackouts!!!
There was heavy rains and the balcony doors starts to leak!! There was leakage in the hotel’s restaurant and they was putting a bucket to collect the rains!!!
Actually it wasn’t best compared with the room value and the misleading room description.

I came to egypt as visitor after thirty years living abroad, I stayed at this hotel for two nights and unfortuantly it was the worse exprience i had at any hotel.

Cleanness : very poor and you run a 70% chance of getting covid-19, the have senatation bottols but empty and you will never see room service

Honesty: they are money hungry, they will
Becareful from extra fees, they are money hungry and do not honour thier contract, they will force you to pay for their nonsense fees stated as hotel policy but are no where to be found on their gust contract, they just do not care.

This is not the first time I stay in Tolip Hotel Alexandria, Egypt. I am always impressed by the courtesy of the staff in general, at the concierge, front desk staffs.
I was particularly impressed with the quality of service , attitude, confidence, being helpful,, and professionalism of Miss/Mrs Sarah Moneer., at the front desk. In May and June this year I stayed in the hotel for more than two weeks, I missed the time limit to write a review at that time.
And on all this occasions I enjoyed the facilities and the convinient location. Many thanks Sarah for managing my reservation and being very helpful during my stay. Thanks to all the staffs

An all Egyptian experience

It is a very nice hotel except that they charge an extra 30 dollars per night because this is mostly a hotel for domestic tourism. So make sure that you get the foreigner rate when you do your reservations. The breakfast buffet is amazing.

Stay Away terrible hotel if you seek 4/5 stars

I have been traveling a lot , I have stayed in several 5 stars hotel in many countries, this hotel by far is the worst hotel I ever seen in 3-4-5 stars hotel .
The furniture is almost worn out , the curtains and curtains are dirty .
I had to call the customer service several times to get towels , bathrobe , bath slipper , hotel says that these comes based on request ... even the room trashes left out without bag in it. The food is 50% ok , the guest service is terribly awful the gym is pretty small and there was no pool heater ...overall bad experience.. I will never visit again
I can classify this hotel under 2 stars only .

closeness to the sea is certainly a bonus. Staff were good. What I did not like was the fact that upon entering the room after checking in, I found no towels or floor mats in the bathroom. However, they corrected the situation fairly promptly.

This is a very nice hotel for the countries citizens, however it is not 5-star quality based on global standards. House keeping and room service is good, however rooms are old, sheets are grainy, and shower and tub are very small and water was luke warm. In addition, weddings and parties every night and the way the hotel is shaped the noise carries.
I do not recommend this hotel for westerners

We didn't like the room bathroom from the following points, overall clean mirror are old scratched, trash basket doesn't have plastic bag and full with water, there's no hand towel, the shampoo and other stuff are very bad quality
