When I arrived to the hotel it was closed. I called the number in the door and nobody responded. After waiting for a while, a neighbor told me they had another hotel nearby I needed to head there. I was out in another hotel outside the palace area.

The staff who checked us in placed us in a wrong smaller room on the first night but day after Bianca moved us to the Deluxe room that we booked/paid for - thank you Bianca. Deluxe room is spacious, clean, quiet even though there’s a restaurant down below. Comfortable bed. Hotel has a lot of stairs, not suitable for those with mobility issues. We had an incident when the elevator door failed to open and for a few minutes we were stuck inside. Since then we did not use the elevator for the next two days. We will not stay in this hotel again for the reason that when we got stuck in the elevator and pressed the emergency call button nobody answered.

This hotels location is fantastic for Split Old Town and day trips, boats etc. It is a lovely building and my room was clean and comfortable. The lift goes from the first floor so from reception there are 2 flights of stairs. The receptionist helped with my case when I arrived but I had an early departure and the reception isn't manned at that time so I managed. This could be a real problem for some guests. Breakfast is in a restaurant about 10 mins walk away. There are 4 things to choose from and you get one coffee or tea and a juice. The breakfast was nice but being served between 8 and 10am didn't work when I had trips booked. The hotel location means there are plenty of other options for breakfast.

Beautiful small boutique hotel built in the Dioclician Palace walls, it’s very picturesque. The girls at reception are very nice. The room we had was overlooking the Piazza Marchi and was an amazing big room, beautifully decorated and so spacious.

The only negative was that we were told the wrong info for the parking garage. There is no parking at the hotel as it is located in the pedestrian area of the city. They gave us a name of parking that we couldn’t find and weren’t able to reach reception. If u have to park, it’s basically the big public garage.

Located perfectly for quick access to boats, transportation, shopping and dining. The rooftop is accessible and has lovely views and ample seating.

The door is somewhat hidden down the alley, which makes it feel very safe.

The staff was very helpful and responsive.

There is only an elevator from the second floor, so if carrying your own bag up a flight of stairs is a challenge, make sure you have someone who can help you.

Lovely boutique hotel, well located I just of the main beautiful port walkway. Just inside old town off a lovely small square. Staff so helpful. Rooms airy and plenty of room, big ensuite . Well decorated and very comfortable. Good a/c in room. Breakfast is a pleasant walk to an excellent restaurant . Can't fault it. We stayed for 5 days. Restaurants and main tourist attractions all within walking distance.

Quaint and great location

Quaint hotel in the heart of town near the shops and restaurants. Walking distance to beaches. Only down side is the elevator starts one floor up (1st floor) so you do have to carry your bags upstairs to that point. Great place though and not right on the busy square where noise might be an issue.

Location in old town Split was great. Room was spacious. That said there was not a view at all from our room, relatively large bathroom, but no shower.....just an old bathtub with handheld shower. Without shower curtain made it difficult and messy. No elevator and no assistance with luggage. Definitely not worth the money spent.

If you are going to Split, you MUST stay here! We arrived by bus and it was a quick easy walk to the hotel. Bianca was working at the reception when we arrived and she was absolutely lovely! Very kind, thoughtful and helpful. Our room was unlike any we stayed in on our adventures in Europe. Absolutely beautiful! We were perfectly located to be able to shop, dine and sightsee. The hotel was very clean and again, the folks running this place were all incredibly wonderful and helpful! You need to stay here if you are staying in Split!!

This hotel was the perfect place to stay in Old Town. Sleeping in this historic building made our visit to Split really special. You can't beat the location -- easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The room was large and bright. We never heard any outside noise with the windows closed.

Amazing views from the rooftop too. The staff is super friendly (especially Sonja).

Definitely stay at Plaza Marchi when you're in Split!!

The staff is most welcoming; Bianca is outstanding with her guest service skills, she went out of her way to insure everything was just so! Fantastic location in the middle of the old town next to Diocletian’s palace and 5 min walk to the seafront. Surrounded by all the attractions and restaurants.
The hotel has a quirky restored feel and is very comfortable, rooms are spacious and very clean. Really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend.

The hotel has a great roof terrace and we were lucky to visit during the Swift / House Martin season, so we were treated to a spectacular show in the early evenings. Beware that breakfast is not served in the hotel. We had to walk approximately 10 minutes to another hotel for breakfast. The bed was very creaky and not comfortable. However, the hotel location is excellent and very close to the 'Riva' seafront.

The uniqueness was just what we wanted in a hotel. The position in the Old Town was perfect. Just a bit noisy early in the mornings with the sound of small trucks moving around the immediate area and just below our bedroom window. This is not a hotel for the more elderly clients. There is no lift to the first floor and many stairs to climb to get to the first floor. Buy we found everyone very helpful and our room was clean and tidy.

It was very close to the bus station, the docks, restaurants and shopping and they have a great view top terrace. Even though is right in the middle of everything, the windows kept the noise down and we had a peaceful stay.

The location was perfect, right in the middle of the old town (be prepared to walk your luggage from pkg garage about 8-10 minutes). It had 2-levels of roof deck, the top from which you could watch gorgeous sunsets with a glass of wine (and slice of pizza from Pizza Cut!!) The room was spacious. These were the plusses.

I wouldn't say there were minuses that affected our stay, just a few odd things worth mentioning. This \"boutique\" hotel was quirky in that it was a new-ish build in an old, old stone building, which was really cool to be staying in. But the inside aesthetic was just off. It was as if someone said to a variety of decorators, \"think of an old-world style\" yet none of them talked to each other, resulting in an odd mixture of furniture, artwork, wall treatments, fixtures and colors. The construction was odd with different platforms and steps in weird places (probably because of the old building which is fine), but it also seemed done on the cheap. Our bathroom (the design completely different from everything else) had a plumbing/draining issue outside shower which was evident as the door (coated in a plastic layer) was peeling at the bottom and you could see that the door frame and trim was cut away and replaced about 8\" up from the door to the shower. Further you could tell the floor in that same area had been replaced. With that said, it was clean. The front desk staff was nice, although not always knowledgable (settling parking) or communicating with cleaners.

This hotel is directly in the palace, for the reason you experience the activity and the noise of the area. The rooms are big and beautiful and due to the stone quiet but noise can enter the windows. This place is not suitable if you can not lift your bags up stairs, and you must not have mobility challenges. Staff are lovely and the hotel is fascinating.

Great sun roof area, overlooking the tiled roofs and church spires of Split. If you have their breakfast, its €15 and a walk across town to sister hotel but very good and such friendly staff. Plenty of amazing places to eat/drink. Split people all so obliging and aim to please. We hope to go back as a family, thank you Plaza Marchi!

This unique boutique hotel is in the heart of the old town of Split -- walkable to everywhere. It was a little hard to find because the name of the hotel is up high and we were looking over doorways. It was very quiet, very unique and perfect for our stay in Split after getting off a little cruise that ended in Split.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, walkable to whetever you want to go in Split The lift is on ghe first floor, so you will need to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. The room was nicely decorated and spacious. The bed is hard and the linens don’t fit, leaving the top and bottom of the matress exposed.

There is very little not to like about this establishment. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. All the amenities worked great. The bed was not the most comfortable I have ever slept in, but it was OK. The property has an upstairs terrace where you can look out over the city, which is handy if you just want to chill out. I would say that the elevator is on the first floor so no matter what you have to climb some stairs. That is not a problem for me, but could be a problem for other people. Breakfast is not included. But you can purchase breakfast at one of their Sister hotels down the street. I did that one of the nights and the breakfast was good. The walk may be inconvenient and/or annoying for some people. And lastly, I will say that the location is absolutely fantastic with great access to everything going on in old town Split.

Very nice hotel in excellent location for old town split. Unfortunately they allow the option of breakfast but do not explain that it is not at the hotel. It is provided at a sister hotel which is a 1km round trip walk. When raised with the hotel we were told to raise the issue with Expedia and they have stated they are bound by the hotels policy so only offering one day of breakfast in refund even though we did not use two. Do not book the breakfast option.

The air conditioner was not working in 34 degrees! We could not sleep. We told them and they said they’ll fix it and it was marginally better during the next day but again at night it was merely a fan… terrible experience.
There is no place to safely store luggage and the check out was at 10!

The hotel was perfectly situated within the Diocletian Palace and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the sea front. The hotel itself was pretty unique in decor style and had a roof top terrace where you could sit and enjoy some amazing views. The queen-size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. A few shortcomings, the mini fridge was not working, the hand shower was missing a head (this was rectified after reporting the fault) and the safe had to be reset in order for it to work. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

This was our second stay and we had a much better room with more light and more space. Each room is unique so choose carefully. Lovely rooftop was a great spot for a glass of one of the delicious Croatian wines and some snacks.

The hotel is a beautiful and unique property. Reception staff super friendly and helpful. Because of its age, it doesn’t have an elevator to reach the first floor so you have to climb some stairs but after that, there’s an elevator that services the rest of the building.The reception staff did assist with bags going up to the first floor which was very nice.

There’s a nice terrace on top where you can enjoy drinks with an amazing view of the old town.

Rooms are spacious, had all the amenities you’d expect for a 4star hotel. Only problem with the room I had (103) was the bathroom door would not close easily. From a quick observation, the splash back from the shower water drenches the door making it swell up, not allowing it to close. At times it felt like I was going to break the door when trying to open it.

But the reason I only gave it 4stars was because of the maid service. They only come in to make the bed and maybe add a toilet roll to the bathroom. The floor and bathroom sink never seemed to get cleaned. Another thing that annoyed me was that they replaced the cup I put my toothbrush in, but they left my toothbrush on top of the toilet… I threw my toothbrush out, super unsanitary. They took away the shower mat which then made the floor all wet because the shower doesn’t have a great shower screen and they took away our hand towels and never replaced them.

Overall great hotel, would stay again because amazing location. Just need better maid staff.

This was a very unique property with lots of history. We heard stories of noise issues from restaurants below, but we didn’t experience any issues. Everyone slept well. Location cannot be beat. So close to everything. Some rooms had showers and some had bathtubs with hand showers so if this is an an issue, be sure to ask.

The location of this hotel is great, but if you arrive with heavy luggage, it’s a challenge to get up 2 flights of stairs to get to the elevator. It’s also noisy because of the restaurant next door. Other things that I wasn’t pleased with was that there were some small ants on the floor of my room and that the room wasn’t made up after the first day. I thought even boutique hotels had daily housekeeping.

The PERFECT location in a beautiful city!
Check-in was a easy process and room was clean. On the hotel.com website and app, it lists that there is parking at this hotel, but there is not so be prepared to pay for parking in a public lot.
We were fortunate enough to get a room with a balcony which was nice.
Rooms need some updating though. A fresh paint job would do this place wonders!

Plaza Marchi is a totally unique property inside the Old City on the border of Diocletian's place and the Venetian period buildings. It is connected to the ruins of the oldest church in Split. It is old and has enormous character. If you appreciate these things, you will love it. Each room is distinctive (and we had 4 rooms)

Rooms are spacious, beds are super comfortable, and you really feel a part of ancient history. There are 3 gelato shops within 50 yards and 2 minutes to the promenade and 5 minutes to the heart of Diocletian's Palace. Countless amazing restaurants within moments of the front door. Once you get your bearings where the building and front door are, the rest is carefree. We had two cars, and the parking spots were not convenient. But, what do you expect in an old city that is 1800 years old.

Very nice property, the only issue is that although the property is advertised as having an elevator, it is only accessed through a flight and a half of stairs so for people with mobility issues, this is a problem.

The people at the desk not really helpful. The property and area around the property not very cleaned. Every night I woke up with lots of noises.

The property was quiet clean and the staff friendly. Only problem is no food is served here so breakfast was a trek to another hotel. There is nothing to eat if you are vegan on the breakfast menu so I would advise booking room only and take your own coffee as the room coffee is not vegan it contains milk powder.

This is by far one of the most convenient locations right in the heart of Split, so it might not be the cheapest. But everything you need is right there. And, it is literally less than a 10-minute walk from the major bust stops and ferry station. Our room did not have a shower but that is an American complaint. There is not a restaurant on the property but they don't need one with so many around. Love the room! Would definitely return.

We liked: the hotel is situated very centrally in the middle near the palace area. The large room was quiet.
We didn’t like: the floors weren’t clean enough for white socks. There was limited place for e.g. toilet appliances in the bathroom. No hangers for coats. Inconvenient sitting areas in the room and no common social areas available. Breakfast served at restaurant 5-10 minutes away offered limited selection, e.g. little or no fruit. Wine was sold in the reception, but there were no suitable glasses available.
Proposal: the room was nice and had good potential, but much more can be done to improve convenience. E.g. arrange a freshly furnaced sitting area with a table in the room. Arrange hangers for outdoor clothes. Make better use of the large bathroom area, with e.g. shelves or similar for the guests’ personal appliances.
