First off, this is a GREAT location, just a few steps away from Diocletian's Palace and the heart of the old city. We were on a tight budget for hotels on this vacation, but you would think that we were accustomed to five-star, swank hotels by the ambiance here. There are no cars allowed into the old city, but the hotel had a parking place in an enclosed garage about a ten-minute walk away. Someone from the hotel met us there and brought us to it. (I don't know if they have other parking places available; any hotel within the historic center will have limited parking, so make sure you inquire about this when booking.)

Housed in the exquisite “Nakić Palace”, and exemplar of Art Nouveau architecture, this hotel is ideally located on a picturesque square near the Riva (waterfront). It was a perfect place to stay for while awaiting a transfer to the Adriatic islands. This hotel is where you want to be…near Diocletian’s Palace, restaurants, shops, nightlife, and the ferry port. Highly recommend!

The location of the property was good on Central Square inconvenient and the buildings exterior was very attractive. But the inside of the building was very tired and staff wasn’t that helpful. Our room was adequately decorated and had lovely views.

The property is located in a wonderful central area of the city. We did not have a great stay due to no electricity for half a day and no hot water - We were there for 2 days and no hot water. No money was refunded and no solution to move rooms etc..

The hotel had a great location and good access, the room was spacious as well as the bathroom which is rare. But the bed mattress was a hammock, so wore out that I couldn’t sleep. There seems that receptionist was the only staff available, thanks God we didn’t need anything urgent. So price/value was not good

Good location in old town, walking distance to everything. Rooms a bit outdated. Hot water went out and hotel staff was unable to provide any info as to when it would be working again, cold showers were not fun. Aside from an apology nothing was done to rectify situation. Don’t waste your money, stay somewhere nicer.

Location was spectacular. Place was clean and confortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Finding parking was a little difficult. The entrance is a little tricky and there are other accomodations in the building. The bed was comfortable, but soft and I prefer a former mattress, but that wouldn't stop me from staying again.

We arrived late so we decided that we would stay 2 nights in Split but our experience at this hotel was below average so we decided to pack up and go to a different hotel for our second night.
The hotel atmosphere and appearance was ok. The towels were old and had holes on them and the threading was ripped on the ends. The room was clean until you saw under the furniture and bed where it was full of dust. We had to make our own bed because the duvet and cover were folded on the bottom of the bed and no sheets. Also the king bed had two twin duvets instead of a larger duvet for the whole bed. The person that received us at reception was very nice, but unfortunately she criticize her own country quite a bit, and said that the Beautiful island of Hvar was not worth going to. She also said that the old town was the only part that was worth singing in split. I guess that is just opinion but she works in the tourism in the street. It’s surprised us that she criticized her own country that way.

Our stay was wonderful! We were picked up from the airport by hotel shuttle. Hotel staff met our taxi and handle our heavy luggage from taxi to hotel room. Check in was easy and our room was beautiful.
Location is in the Old Town. We would definitely book this hotel again!

We loved our newly renovated room. It was stylish and creatively designed— I got a few ideas for renovating my own home! The room was comfortable and surprisingly spacious. It was a special experience to stay in a historic building on the central plaza of the historic old town area. Really, this was an experience of a lifetime. And I thank the hotel staff for taking such good care of us.

The staff here are amazing to deal with! Even when when arriving in later at night due to plane being delayed. The staff gave fantastic directions to a place to eat dinner which was also not far from the hotel and very enjoyable.
The room was super clean really enjoyed my stay.

I do not want the Hotels.com survey to detract from our fantastic visit to Central Square in Split. Simply put the hotel could not have done more for us and the room was excellent.

Great value and we would definitely stay there again. We would try and book direct rather than Hotels.com who love a survey with non-sensical questions

A beautiful, clean and spacious room, we had a dance in it!
Loved the window shutters. It was tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was also spacious with a huge sink and the shower was 3 way and very powerful.
The location was perfect, on People's Square with everything close by. A great bakery steps from the hotel and the best ice cream shop on the opposite side of the square.
The reception were really helpful.
There is so much to do in Split that we will definitely return and stay in this beautiful historical building.

This property suffers from 2 major flaws.

Firstly, its marketing & associated images suggests/infers that breakfast eating is on site. This is not the case, there is no dining facility & guests have to buy a voucher at extra charge and the walk to a nearby eating place which obviously has a business tie in with the hotel. Inconvenient if it’s raining!

Secondly this ‘hotel’ is more like a hostel set up. The building comprises multi-occupancy hotelier businesses with only 1 lift which is accessed via a side door leading into a somewhat dingy common close corridor.

The room was relatively spacious however the decor, which supposedly tried to recreate a distressed Victorian look was in truth more shabby than chic.

The bathroom fittings in the basin & shower had limescale & verdigris all over. The shower tray was brown & stained at the sealant areas & a piece of the tray fascia fell off.

The electric bedside sockets were worn to a point that charging phones etc required building a form of platform underneath the plugs do that they stayed in alignment with the socket. The ‘chandelier’ had a number of bulbs out.

The ‘safe’ was in a wardrobe attached to a shelf which was removable!!

The air conditioning unit packed in and the started leaking water onto the floor requiring towels to soak it up. This unit was eventually repaired by one helpful member of staff (Anita).

For a supposed 4 stars, this ‘hotel’, ideally placed for walking in Split town centre, is overpriced

Great location, mediocre hotel

The property is a bit confusing by with 3 floors that all have different hotels, and no clear signage for the Central Heritage one on the 3rd floor. Hallways were quite noisy and not sure what was on the 4th floor but a lot of heavy walking, dropped dishes, and noise throughout the night. Pillows were basically a sheet, and the additional ones in the closet had no case. Not quite a 4 star hotel

The property is in a great location and close to everything but for the price we paid the room was not as clean. There were open soap bar open in the bathroom and it was kinda dirty and not fully cleaned. Further there is no phone in the room so anytime you need something you have to walk to the front desk to ask for it. Cleaning crew every morning maid sooo much noise while cleaning that i had to contact the property through expedia but still the next days we experience the same noisy situation. There was no hot water for 2 days. When I brought it up to the front desk girl she gave attitude and was not even apologetic. She was so clueless and said that she will ask the manager (who was not even responding to her) Imagine coming back from swimming in the ocean wanting to shower and to find out there is no hot water. After 2 hours they told us we should have hot water within the next hour. We didn't have hot water until next day in the evening.

Front staff when we arrived was so rude. Did not want to help us. I don’t know if she just hated her job or hated Americans. Worst stay in our travels from Naples Italy to Dubrovnik. There also was no parking for us available like advertised and she was not helpful circled a possibility on a map for us to park. Had no idea what it would cost us and was basically just like good luck! I do not recommend staying here. Beds also awful! The fold out couch for my daughter was so bad. I felt terrible for her.

A nice, clean hotel in the heart of Old Town with a one person receptionist. Large, clean and comfortable room in a building located right on the main square. Building has 3 floors, with each floor a different hotel. Central Square Heritage Hotel is on the 3rd floor. Entrance is at the side of the building, directly across from a gelato store. While it's not a full service hotel, you can't beat the perfect location to explore the old town and the harbor.

If you are driving, an option is to use public outdoor parking Parkiraliste Stari Plac and walk 8 minutes to the hotel. EXTREMELY convenient location!

A two nights stop in Split. We had 2 rooms and they were awesome although a few \"parts\" (shower door, furniture...) would need some love... fixing or refreshing ! If you are traveling by car... it is tricky to find where to park but the staff was helpful - you can call them and they did their best to help us. Entrance of the hotel was very hard to find... we got lost. But this is a great place, in a great location with friendly staff. I had written to the hotel to let them know that it was a honeymoon trip for my parents and they let a message and a bottle of wine in their room: THANK YOU, great!, they were touched so that was much appreciated!
