Nice hotel near local bars

Nice hotel within 15-20 minutes walk to the centre but there are some local bars and cafes very close by.
Nice lobby area but no bar.
Free parking available right beside the hotel.
Rooms were nice but not very spacious due to oversized sofa which took up a lot of space.

Disappointing

We had a disappointing experience during our stay last night. We didn't receive the room we had paid for but were given a cheaper one instead. To make matters worse, the heating in the room was unbearable—there were no controls, and the temperature felt like it was at least 30°C, making it nearly impossible to sleep. When we raised our concerns with the front desk in the morning, they were dismissive and unhelpful, simply telling us to contact the third party we booked through. Overall, a very disappointing stay, and we wouldn’t recommend this hotel based on our experience.

What I liked the most is the relaxing environment that offers being on the Hotel and outside of it. Also the facilities and the organized things. I rate this hotel 9 out of 10 because the footsteps on the other rooms and the noise people make can be heard and scare you with the doors closing roughly.

Lo que mas me gustó fue el ambiente relajante que ofrece estando en el Hotel y fuera de él. También las facilidades y las cosas organizadas. Le doy un 9/10 porque los pasos en las otras habitaciones se escuchaban y te asustaban de repente con mas puertas cerrándose fuertemente.

Comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Second visit but still had problems finding the hotel - no signage at ground level and difficult to see in the dark! Lousy directions from Google Maps didn't help.

Nice hotel, you can walk to the centre. Parking is exspensive and only two cars used it, around 40parking bays! Cheaper parking in current times would be €8 not €15.

Ideal stopover hotel and much, much more!

We booked the hotel as a stopover en route from Southern Spain to the ferry at Santander. We had stayed at other nh hotels in Spain and we weren't disappointed with the Balago.

We arrived around 8 pm after a 500 mile trip and found that our car with a roof box would not go into the underground car park! Pedro on the front desk was brilliant and organised safe parking outside the hotel. While we were unloading the car he prepared the meals we ordered from the vending machines in the lobby so we were able to eat in our room and relax before enjoying a sleep in the HUGE beds - two 4 ft beds! We had a substantial continental breakfast in the morning and continued our journey fully refreshed.
We shall continue to book nh hotels whenever possible as they provide a quality service at a very reasonable price and the staff are always attentive, friendly and helpful.

Grat location

Looked after me very well despite the additional restrictions and policies put on place due to Coronavirus alert. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Hotel underground parking perfect too with large spaces . I would definitely stay again.

We have stayed with our dog 12 times and been very happy Until this time then,to be turned away as Their policy has changed , after a long drive , was not aware so had to find another hotel, with the help of the Hotel receptionist who was nice

Our double room was very nice but unfortunately, smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Rooms need to be vetted by someone before next guests arrive. We were given an alternative twin room which did not have the tea/coffee facilities that the previous room offered and the receptionist wasn't prepared to rectify this. Overall, disappointing.

Great hotel, friendly staff, will return!

Hotel is actually quite good, but by far and away it is the staff in this hotel which make it somewhere I will return when next in the area. The gentleman who checked me in was very professional, pleasant and extremely helpful. I am currently trying to learn Spanish, and after telling him this he lkindly tried to speak in as much Spanish as possible, but slowly and clearly and then explaining in English also. This type of assistance is VERY useful when trying to learn a new language, but it was also very welcoming to have that mutual respect. Parking is available at the hotel, it is located underneath and is private to the Hotel. Breakfast in the morning was good, plentiful selection of different breakfast foods. Overall the hotel was excellent value for money, tastefully decorated with pleasant staff. Only one minor criticism was the temperature in the room was quite thought to control.

City Hopping

A very nice hotel in a little bit of the beaten track. It has no bar. Restaurant closed on a sunday a twenty minute walk into the city centre in a seedy end of town. My friends who are Spanish advised us to get a tsxi back to hotel when out

Comfy and Relaxing

An excellent choice. However, we would have liked some detailed directions, so that I didn't have to rely on slightly confusing Sat Nav.
Breakfast was very good, and the receptionist was very well informed about the neighbourhood. We also liked the very generous-sized bed.

Hotel poco cuidado

Los cuartos son funcionales pero no tan cómodos. El baño es estrecho y mi habitación olia a cigarro aunque se supone que todas las habitaciones son para no fumadores. Pocas opciones para comer cercanas (a pie). Lo mejor fue el desayuno, bastante recomendable.

The good: Old town is in walking distance, rooms are clean, free parking is abundant.
The bad: breakfast buffet is disappointing, hotel is certainly older than most (seems very dated), not even a bottle of complimentary water for guests which is standard in onther hotels (even at NH-group).

El proceso de check-in fue muy eficiente, nos dieron la habitación más temprano de lo esperado y la atención en recepción fue adecuada. La habitación es espaciosa y cómoda y todo estaba muy limpio. Exelente opción para hospedarse en Valladolid porque aunque no está en el centro, la parada de autobús está a solo 2 minutos andando o se puede andar perfectamente al centro en menos de 20 minutos. Además el hotel cuenta con parking, haciendo la estancia aún más cómoda para los que vamos en coche. Sin duda repetería.

La estancia ha sido muy agradable. La habitación increible, muy amplia, con baño grande y armarios cómodos. La cama muy agradable y acogedora. Lo único las almuhadas que quizás son un poco blandas, pero esto, quizás, es algo muy personal.

La basura no la habían cambiado y seguía la del huésped anterior. No había agua en la planta 9 en la que me alojaba. En el baño, el dispensador de pañuelos se caía debido a que no estaba bien sujeto.
La habitación en si, estaba muy bien y era espaciosa. El personal muy majo y atento.
