Terrible hotel – not worth the price at all!
This hotel was absolutely awful. The price is completely unjustified for what you get. First and foremost, the room was dirty and smelled horrible – like sewage. The floor was filthy, and it was so bad that I had to wear flip-flops in the shower because it felt disgusting.
This is supposed to be a luxury hotel, but there was nothing luxurious about it. The staff was not friendly or helpful, and it took at least an hour to get anything – whether it was towels, ice, or even the menu.
There was always something missing, and service was slow and frustrating. I strongly recommend staying far away from this hotel!

This hotel offers a stunning view of the Kinneret, but overall cleanliness and management leave much to be desired. The biggest disappointment was the beach in front of the hotel, it was completely neglected and extremely dirty, covered in large plastic sheets and debris, making it unusable, The staff claimed it had been cleaned that morning, which was clearly not true.

The pool area wasn’t much better. It had not been cleaned before opening, with cigarette butts, plastic straws, and other trash scattered around. While the rooms are comfortable, they also require maintenance: a broken faucet handle, toilet seat that didn’t fit properly, and a crooked picture that looked like it had been left that way for a long time and the traditional empty minibar that seems to be standard practice in Israel 5 stars hotels.

We also received inconsistent and confusing information from staff, such as incorrect breakfast times (we were told 9 AM when it actually starts at 7). Storing luggage was poorly handled-I was told offered to leave our bags in an open, unattended laggage room. (we decide to leave it at the lobby instead)

Overall, the experience reflected poor management and a lack of basic hospitality standards.

I love Israel, which makes it all the more disappointing to have such a poor hospitality experience.

The property and area are beautiful, and the villas are quite nice and appear clean at first glance. However, once you settle in and look around, they could benefit from additional cleaning and care. We stayed in a jacuzzi villa and highly recommend it over a pool villa if you want a view of the Sea of Galilee; otherwise, the view is not as enjoyable.

The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were kind, but they seemed inexperienced. They made us pay again, despite having already paid through Expedia. We initially believed they were charging our card for a deposit, but it took several days to receive a refund.

While the restaurant manager was very kind, most of the other staff were quite rude. Our breakfast on the first day was delicious, but on the second day, it was all served cold.

Private but not as nice and luxury as you'd think

We went for the privacy, and we had that. But, the rooms were not clean. Especially the bathroom.
We also had a saga with the spa. We scheduled a message and when we arrived it was closed. The reception said they would be there in half hour if we can just wait. We waited and they didn't get there for over an hour.

Horrible experience with Setai , it was 105 degrees outside and the air conditioning in our room did not work I asked the maintenance to fix it while I’m at the pool they said they fixed it but when i came back to the room it was like a stove inside the room , ask them to fix it 4 times and they was not able to do so, on the top of that the shower was blockage and the water got into the entire room when we took a shower.
When we finally wanted to leave the room we asked for transportation to the reception to do the check in and we waited 40 min but no one showed up so me and my pregnant wife had to walk 10 min in the heat to get there so we can finally finish with this nightmare .

We had a wonderful stay at The Setai. During our stay, the chef, Tzvi, was very welcoming and made our stay even better. I really appreciated Tsvi’s hospitality- he made sure we were enjoying our stay and it was great to see how passionate he was about his work. His food and service were top-notch and I would definitely visit the hotel again!

Setting is beautiful…. That being said the service was absolutely horrendous.

. Check just demanded passport , no pleasantries or information related to hotel.

. A cart takes you to the room , driver / bellboy didn’t even offer to bring luggage to the room, he just dumped luggage and left.

. Spa is a whole story , but in short treatment rooms open right up to public area. No robes, towels , slippers offered. If you as they do have lockers. Wouldn’t allow us to put treatments on our room. Same as other staff … no information offered zero customer service.

. Pool - no one man’s a towel or lounge chair area. We found a waiter and he said there are no more lounge chair covers available. Looks like they lay them out in the morning and leave form there. Waited a half hour for a menu and then no one returned to take an order. On the way out we asked the serve what was going on …. He said better to get a drink in the lounge.

. We head to the lounge, sever openly yawn upon our order ( simple straight forward glass of wine and salad). Asked for olives three times and they came out 45 min later.

. Morning breakfast coffee was served in cheap disposable cups. ( keep in mind rooms were close to $800 a night ).

. Decided to sit in our balcony and juts relax there. Within 5 minutes the cleaner for the room next door threw buckets of water on the half wall that divides the rooms. I got covered in dirty ( sponga) water.

. Maintenance Is terrible.

Do not waste your money! We had great expectations for this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were not well maintained, the staff and service were not the standard of a 5 star resort. Most of the staff were unable to communicate in English. We travelled with 3 teenagers and were told one of the rooms would have 2 twin beds and a sofa bed. The room had a king bed (which we were told could be split) and they were unable to do so. The gym had dirty towels and garbage on the floor. This was the first time staying at a Setai resort and will likely be the last.

Very disappointing experience

It was a disappointment.
The service was horrible, it feels like no body cares to make you feel comfortable.
I needed to ask 3 time for slippers! cus we didn’t have in our room, like we should’ve. While we were having dinner they fixed the clogging in our shower, and when we came back to the room the place was a mess! There was shoe traces all over the bathroom floor, and a dirty towel just lying there.
We called the reception to tell them about it but no body came to clean! In the end my partner cleaned it. We were very disappointed. Very.
The whole atmosphere is unpleasant, and the place is horrible maintained.
The price you pay is very high and it’s really not worth it!
DON’T GO THERE.

Worst hotel in thr world

The worst food service and logistics of any comparable luxury hotel in the world. Literally the worst. I give a grade of an “F-“!!!!
Served no lunch available until 1:30 pm and then it was either a very limited 5 item dairy menu including a pizza made in a little machine like you see at a crumby movie theatre. Of the remaining 5 items, 2 they didn’t have.
The other menu was hamburger or chicken finger and fries..that’s it. At a luxury resort it was literally like what you get attending your teenaged parents night back to school at a high school. This was in thr beautiful Gallilee region of Israel with incredible fresh produce and world class chefsZ . Totally inexcusable for a motel 6 let alone a luxury brand like Setai.
Then it got worse. They refused to let me charge it to my room and i had to walk back to my hotel to get a credit card..outrageous and infuriating. When I Went to the front desk to complain and give them my Amex card because the crumby waiter said there was no credit card on file and that was why I could t charge it to my room, the front desk refused to take Amex so I had to walk back 200 yards tk my room to get a Visa card and walk back 200 yards to the front desk again just to have a visa on file to charge a movie theaters quality junk food to my room. The hotel manager tried to create some ridiculous excuse about Amex cards have unlimited charge and therefore pose a security risk to me. That was a pathetic excuse. My guess is the hotel did it want to p

In the evening, when I turned to wash my hands, the tap just came out of place and everything was flooded. We called the hotel’s service, they sent an employee that told us that maintenance employee in this hour and there is nothing to do. We just went to sleep with a flooded room!

Expensive and not worth it

The hotel was run down and not being kept up. Even though pool was closed it was filthy with littered with trash. The hot tube was in desperate need of refinishing - the wood stain was peeing off into the water making it dirty.

The covid room service menu was horrible - a choice of four options and only one healthy selection. There was no breakfast choice but it was a nice meal- better than the dinner.

Overall it cost way to much for what it is. Without all the amenities the price should have been half of what it cost.

Indeed the overall place and rooms looks very nice but...
the jacuzzi is not clean and probably there is a huge amount of chlorine that ruin our bathing suit - no one told us that. Mind you that there is no privacy !!!

the other disappointment was breakfast - yes we are in the Covid-19 days but it was a shameful to call it a breakfast. nothing was really fresh, no variety - hospital food was better (from experience). I've tried to call reception 10 times during 1hour with no answer !!! the hotel didn't even better answering an email I've sent them.

I don't know what happened to them - maybe the management has changed. I will never go back.

Great room, but that’s it.

When we arrived for the check in, I ask’ed about extending our stay for one more night and the lady at the front desk send me to call the reservation number which I did, I told here that there is no answer and she said she couldn’t help me which was weird. After a 30 minutes of waiting for the call the call hanged up.

We asked for water since the hotel is far a way from any store, and they want us to pay for water or “drink from the toilet tab” we where shocked since it is a luxury hotel Corona/no Corona you need to supply us water even if it’s from a far culler.

In the morning for breakfast we got a very embracing breakfast which I wouldn’t serve even at my home. There was no agg!

We took a room with a private pool and was told it can be heated, well - water were cold, I asked for 5 times for someone to come and water temperature - only after 5 requests someone came. In addition no want told us that on Saturday breakfast will only arrive to the room between 09:30 and 11, so we waited for it starting 08:00 (to when we originally ordered it) - it ruined our plans for that day. In general there was a feeling of indifference from the staff- which I didn’t expect in a hotel with this rating

I will never visit this hotel again.

The hotel was not functionung and neglected. we have waited 4 hours to receive the room that, until we despaired. Every few minutes some ather guests came to the front desk to complain about something else. No willingness from the hotel staff to come towards the guests. pure shame. A weekend that was supposed to be a nice vacation turned into an unnecessary trip and a horrible experience. I will never visit this hotel again.

We were on a vacation with our friends, we were just shocked how terrible the services are, no waiters by the pool bo bartenders no one to help you, the rooms are rarely cleaned, our room was with a private pool with no lights beside the pool to even swim at night or just chill by the pool, definitely does not worth the price, you pay for a 5 stars hotel while you get 1 star service and even worse. Definitely wont be back.

loved every minute there

fabulous. the place was gorgeous, the rooms and dining area were perfectly cleaned, and the staff was lovely. they went over and above to make sure we were happy. we stayed in a room with a private pool, which was really nice to have. it is hot and humid in august, so you are going to want to stay wet, and hang out all day in the pool. water is warm and inviting. as wonderful as it is, it is still israel. that means cats underfoot at dinner and loud kids/crying babies. but that can all be avoided with the private pool. perfect for privacy and the corona era. we went on a 2-night romantic trip, and it could not have been better. also excellent for families. we will definitely be back.

We just stayed at the setai sea of Galilee, we made a 2 night booking and loved it from the begining starting with a nice and warm service/welcome by Eden from the receptionist. The property and the rooms are gorgeous and kept up very clean, really met our expectations. We had such a great time that we extended our stay for another night and got upgraded to a pool room, everyone there was so nice, great staff delicious food and unbelievable grounds

The worse service in the world!! they really don’t care about you... this was my second time and both times they just don’t care.. if you ask for anything like a drink to your room or to finally deliver the crib you requested when making the reservation... I had to followup 4 times and ended up getting the crib at 12am ! (10 hours later) I asked them for a late checkout due to my inconvenience but they didn’t care at all.. like I said great hotel but be ready to be treated terribly...
