The rooms are newly renovated and so we’re in very good condition. The pool is also well maintained. The hotel has a spa room and sauna room also in good condition. Unfortunately though, the fitness room was in poor condition. The hotel overall is in good condition. Whilst not in the city center, buses are available only 300m away.
Overll, I would def stay here again.

We got a room with a leaking air con, the carpet was soaked with water and bad smell...
The man in charge tried to repair for an hour, and finally offered some discount but no other room..
We left the place after wasting couple hours....

Basic services - no poll etc as winter, no meal services other than breakfast so resulting in a taxi or drive 'down' into the town.

Room & bathroom very dated, yes that means, seriously due an overhaul.

Rooms are in bad need of an update, but there are some positive attributes. Very nice pool which we could not use as was off season. Believe all rooms have lakeside view and nice balcony. Breakfast was acceptable as well as dinner, but roof needs replacement as buckets in place in middle of room to catch rain water. Bed was fairly comfortable, but carpet and bathroom were mid 1990’s vintage forest green. Parking seem limited but was acceptable, and WiFi was ok. Staff not very friendly, so don’t expect a warm greeting.

A nice hotel that needs refurbishing

Very good breakfast and a nice and clean pool. The Jacuzzi is small, unclean and needs refurbishing. The Sauna is heated at demand, and it wasn't hot even after half an hour.

A stay with a good view of the lake

The location is away from the city centre and the place is quiet and peaceful. Good view of the lake and breakfast was good - cold & hot meals. Don't expect much service but staff is friendly and helpful. I guess it's because they only have 3 to 4 staff to serve the whole dining room. Check in & out was smooth and no problem with parking unless you come back late at night and the tour buses would block the hotel parking lots. Aircon, heater and shower work well. Room size is reasonable to allow us to leave our luggage open during our stay. All the holy sites around the lake area is within 30 minutes driving range. I would stay here again if I should visit Tiberias.

The Golan Hotel is ok. The staff were efficient but not friendly, the food was mediocre...not great, the rooms were just alright but we did not feel the comfort we expected for the price we paid. That being said, it was fairly clean and the location was great. The view from the pool is also spectacular!

The hotel staff was great! If there was a rating for friendliness then the hotel would get a 5. However, my room was not very clean and that was disappointing. We stayed when the pool was not in service and that was one of the selling points for me when booking but that was my fault for assuming. I give a 3.5 out of 5.

Decent plays to stay in Tiberias

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the downtown area; the drive is shorter, but a bit roundabout. The hotel facilities are relatively pleasant. The price of the room seemed high relative to the amenities. Staff were pleasant. Overall it is a decent place to stay, but without the distinction of special location or amenities.

What to expect from this hotel

The main issue with Golan Hotel is the lack of Internet/wi-fi. These are stated as free, but are virtually impossible to use in normal hours - I did have some success at 4.30 am.

We chose rooms with balconies on 3rd floor. These have not been renovated for some time, go for the rooms on 2nd floor, recently updated.

Other issue; cleanliness round the pool. Most guests were Israeli or French, in big groups, with kids who dropped food and wrappers everywhere the adults did not clean up either, and many added to the mess with nut shells and cigarette stubs. Pointed this out to pool staff, no action taken for several hours.

Very few staff spoke more than a few words of English.

Hotel site indicated that the distance to the town centre was 0.7 miles. In practice, it is about 1.5 to 2 miles, depending on how the centre is defined. Downhill walk to town, steep uphil back to the hotel; bus or taxi recommended, as there is perpetual traffic on most routes and the taxis know how to avoid this.

Practical hotel, willing to learn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Double booking problem solved without fuss. Parking is a problem, so I suggest always use taxis. Not walking distance from town center, unless you have time and are willing to walk uphill. No washcloths !

I would not stay at this hotel again. When I booked online it looked much better. The rooms have a smell of mold. Only one person at check in that is busy with phones and guest at the same time. Keeps on running to the back office while waiting. It felt as a bed and breakfast place more than a hotel

We paid for a room with a balcony, though the rooms with balconies don't look anything like the room in the photos. We had to settle for a bit cleaner, more up to date room with a partial view of the sea. The chair at the desk was dirty. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, this hotel is ok

Beautiful Location

The hotel is fine. The staff are attentive. The hotel is beautifully located. We were there over Friday night when there was a large increase in guests from Israel (we were told by staff). We were harassed by some hotel guests who banged on our door in the middle of the night and made other noises. We reported it to the receptionist who was sympathetic and eventuality their security got the noise directed to us stopped. It was frightening. Because of this I did not feel safe and cannot recommend the hotel.

A pleasant experience in comfortable surroundings!

We checked in early and the hotel staff were most helpful and friendly!
Inquiries about the tourist areas and bus services were answered cheerfully!
We enjoyed the pool and spa Area and the breakfast buffet was plentiful!
Altogether a great experience!

We had to move room three times untill we found an acceptable room. Floors 7,8,9 are in much better condition. Food is good, pool is noisy with a loud speakers system. The view is great. They take groups so it depends which group is visiting at the time.

A bit disappointed

The facilities were good, the service was middling, and we don't understand the point of having a pool if it is only open three hours a day. Free Wi-Fi would be useful. The Wi-Fi that was provided we were unable to connect to. The hotel itself is attractive and the view over the Sea of Galilee is amazing.

nice hotel, some rooms are renovated and some not

We had a nice and renovated room on the 8th floor, we noticed that not all rooms were renovated, we concluded that floors 7,8,9 are renovated, 6 and below are not renovated .breakfast was OK, decent selection , nothing special. some public areas are renovated such as the pool and some are not such as the dining room . overall we enjoyed a nice relaxing vacation for two nights, just make sure you get a renovated room.

Nice enough, but not walking distance into town

Nice enough, I imagine it would seem more pleasant in the high season. Lovely views over the Kinneret. Staff were efficient and multilingual. Bear in mind, this hotel is not walking distance to the town, so you should factor in cab fares when choosing where to stay. I think maybe they should have a courtesy shuttle into town for visitors. Decor was lovely in my room.Also the dining room wasn't open and it was a taxi ride into town. No room service available when i stayed, so be mindful of this too.

Over-Priced Hotel For The Guest Experience Offered

On a recent visit to Israel we stayed at 3 hotels, and the Golan Hotel was over-priced relative to the other accomodations. The hotel room was noisy and made it difficult to sleep. The hotel cuts corners on quality of service in many places: Here are examples: The showerhead is totally rusted. The cleaning staff forgot to provide us towels. There is no internet access available in our 3rd floor rooms even for a fee. Breakfast food was inferior. The pool opened 30 minutes late as the lifeguard was late. There is no pen or paper in the room or space to use a computer on a desk. Only one pillow per bed.

A hub for tour buses

I felt totally overwhelmed by over three bus loads worth of tours. I could not get out of the lobby due to the luggage and people. Next time, a much smaller place...... (and this place was not huge)

Good value for money

The Golan hotel was a very good value for the money. It was clean, had good AC which is important for Teveria. It had some wear and tear, but it was clean and comfortable. The restaurant food wasn't excatly gormet, but was very good and it was kosher. I would highly recommend it as a nice 2.5 star. Parking was scarce, but somehow didn't cause us a probelm. Nice views of the Kinneret.

NECESITA MEJORAR SERVICIO Y HABITACIONES

Las áreas comunes del hotel como el lobby, restaurante y piscina están muy bien, hay una vista preciosa y tiene una buena ubicación. Lamentablemente, el servicio no es bueno, las personas que atienden el hotel no son amables. Si eres extranjero es indispensable llevar tu pasaporte y una hojita pequeña de migración que entregan en el aeropuerto cuando entras a Israel, de otra manera te cobran el impuesto y no hay manera de recuperarlo. Las habitaciones no son muy bonitas, no hay camas matrimoniales, sino que juntan dos camas individuales en el caso de que duerman dos personas en una habitación. Son demasiado sencillas para el precio que cobra el hotel, que es alto. Solo los primeros 4 niveles tienen vista al lago, así que hay que asegurarse de hacer la reservación en las habitaciones que tienen vista. Sí tiene el desayuno incluido y es bastante bueno.

el personal es de lo mas amable siempre tratando de ayudar a que tu estancias sea placentera lo que si al que no le gusten los mosquitos pues no lo recomiendo porque por estar en el mar hay muchísimos aunque el hotel esta climatizado y le advierten a uno de no dejar abiertas ventanas
