Hotel was very poor. The reception staff could speak very little English. The room was smelling of smoke, the shower was discusting, the bed was basically a base with a matress topper with poor bed sheets. The breakfast was very basic and un appealing. Overall very disappointed with the stay at this hotel.

If you can get it for less than $30 its fine

I stayed in two rooms. The rooms on the top floor are clearly the \"poor person\" rooms ad the showers and walls look like they came from the clearance isle in a Walmart parking lot.

Shirak Hotel Is an excellent hotel that is located within walking distance to everything. The view from my balcony was amazing. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was super delicious.

Stay at Yerevan

Overall stay is ok. Clean and changing towels everyday. Breakfast not much options. No smoking premise. Hotels.com should take out from the booking options. There is no Flat-screen TV, Classic TV from 1980's 14\". Only shower- Not Bathtubs. Overall nothing is there which is showed in room photos. Room Heater are working perfect.

Location and price are gret. Easily withing short walk of all city center attractions. After chevking in and going to my room, i found that i was given a different type of room than what i had requested. I check out tomorrow and hope that there isn't some type of additional fee charged.

Terrible Hotel

1-it was very expensive
2-Rooms were very dirty, looked like an old cheap guest house (found an empty bag of cigarettes under my bed and there was a gum stuck to the lamp stand)
3-No room service
4-Tv didn't have any channels except one Russian channel with bad quality
5-Doors had no keycards and instead they open by keys like old hostels
6-Stale bread was served for breakfast
7-The fridge door in the room didn't close properly
8-No safe in the room
9-Staff didn't speak English
10-Restaurant is a huge rip off
11-Room was cold and the heaters were turned off despite the cold weather
12-Bed sheets were extremely old and changed colour for being over washed (found a bed bug on my sheet and complained to the staff and they changed the sheet with an even older one)
13-Table covers at the restaurant were full of yellow stains and unwashed during our whole stay.
14-No toiletries(tooth brush, comb, shaving kit, etc) and slippers in the room.

Hotel requiring complete refurbishment

Did not receive the room category, which I booked and was told at reception there is not other room available. The room was small, obviously run down, and with very bad smell from the bath room. After the shift change at reception, I asked again, pointing out the category in my booking: got another room, much better. But still: there is no satellite/cable TV, only one Armenian and one Turkish TV channel, the wifi internet with weak signal, so no extending surfing on internet possible. Breakfast buffet: I had never experienced that even food, which was supposed to be hot like fried eggs, was cold - due to the lack of heating of the warm boxes. Receptionists would need some training in service delivery and friendlyness.

Good hotel with friendly stuff, but we did not get the room category we booked. However, mistakes happen and Shirak is a decent hotel in the very center of Yerevan.

Weekend in Yerevan

This is not a bad place to stay, the surrounding area has almost everything you need. The breakfast was a mix of western and traditional, the staff are polite and the room was clean. Wifi wasnt the best, but the cafe had a good selection of drinks and food. Only thing, smoking was allowed in the cafe and everyone smoked. Such is Armenia.

Good location but far away being a good Hotel..

Very bad internet service people were in the lobby and hallways to get connection, the room size was okay but dirty carpet, old furniture, bad smell in the bathroom, not the best of cleaning service, no stationary, no phone directory I was unable to reach the front desk and had to go down to ask a question also the phone in the room does not allow you to make calls to cellphones. The only thing is good in this hotel is the breakfast and the location is close to the Center but don't let this fool you.

Nice hotel closed city center.

What i loved the most about the hotel was the breakfast, it was out standing. Unfortunately the internet connection in the was so poor, for receiving a good connection, i had to go to the hotel lobby. An other complain, my room was not getting clean on regular bases.

Terrible Guest Experience

I didn't have high expectations based on ratings and other reviews but I still was very disappointed. Staff seemed care about any of their guest as if they ignore them. They only cleaned my room once during four day stay after requesting them to do so. I didn't have wifi for three days. They didn't help me get a taxi and was told to hail a cab on the street. I requested to speak to a manager about serval complaints I had but I was told that there was no manger their. I had so many other issues but these were the ones I am mentioning because space is limited .

Astonishing view from your window

Great view on biblical Mount Ararat. Absolutely astonishing experience for a start of your day.
Perfect location.
Modest hotel with decent breakfast.
When windows are opened it's a bit noisy in the room because of the cars. But generally in Yerevan they drive very noisy. There is an air condition so that is not crucial. Nice staff.
Good WiFi signal in the room.

My stay at the hotel was nice. The hotel was easy to communicate with via email. They arrange a transfer for me for arrival and departure. Staff were friendly and helpful.

You can find better places at this price!

I spent 4 nights at Hotel Shirak. Rooms are in disappointing situations. There is not even a hair dryer in the room and there is a little space for moving in any room.

I had to change the room because of bad smell.

Extremely old hotel. Location is perfect.

The pictures of the rooms on the hotel website have nothing to do with reality - the rooms are awful - very old furniture, left from the Soviet times, dirty carpets, old TV, no air-condition.
You can hear how ppl are talking in the rooms, next to yours.

fare enough with this price

Just remind do not expect luxury hotel and high quality Services,to compare price with others is cheap and location is very good but don't change sheet or blanket every day ,there is no tissue in the room,room is big,no any slippers in bath room,there is no any sign for don't disturb and no any balcony in my room which it was in website details,and non of them photos is like my room.

Great location and has obviously had alot of money spent on it. Room was comfortable and wifi in lobby. Breakfast was dubious but nice view of yerevan and 2 min walk to main square

Unpleasant experience.

The whole experience was negative. Rooms are not by any chance close to what is on the website. Cleanliness is terrible, hotel staff and policy is not touristic or client oriented at all. Breakfast tables won't be cleaned when used, so if you come and find all of them used, you have to eat on the same dirty table clothes. The only one good thing is its location. Anything inside was totally disappointing. Wanted to change it from the first night but then decided not to go through all the hassle in my short vacation.

Great location and price

Stayed for one night during our first time in Yerevan, location is very convenient and central, close to all attractions within walking distance. When we arrived at the hotel at 5 a.m. following our early morning landing from Vienna, the receptionist told us that we can check in at 10 a.m. instead of 1 p.m. When we came back from our morning walk around the central core, the room was ready for 8 a.m. This was really appreciated given our overnight flight and early arrival. The breakfast was buffet style and just awesome, from stewed chicken, to scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, variety of cheese and cold meets, pastries, etc. Best breakfast that we had going forward during our trip around Armenia. We would stay at this hotel again, highly recommended.

More than you pay for

I have read many criticisms of this hotel. I found it to be all that it purports to be and more. The food was good, the place was clean, the help was helpful, the price was reasonable and the location is excellent. A bargain.

OK Hotel with great price

This is an OK hotel, price-wise compared to some rather dingy Yerevan's B&B's. Location central enough, though not too vibrant. Close to a nice park. WiFi could work better, and bathrooms could be cleaner. Reception staff not the most welcoming but they do their job well. Otherwise, all good. I am happy with my stay there.

Not the most plush hotel but staff are lovely and as a value for money place to stay together with it's location it is excellent. As for room on the front and wake up to magnificent vies of mount Ararat.

Nice hotel close to the downtown!

The hotel is good for a couple of days and it is at almost 10 minutes walking to downtown. The breakfast is very good!
