The room was nice and the staff were helpful. But the traffic noise from outside was not good. Also did not like having to use two different keypads to just get into the building, plus your room key. My room was 3 feet from the reception desk, so I could hear everything being said outside my door. Not great.

Somewhat confusing initial entry but we figured it out. Having to wait on coffee to be \"started\" is not great for early risers like myself. And no bottled water for the room is a bummer. The bed was comfortable, but quite low for some of us old folks who struggle getting out of low seats. Overall nice, but could be better.

A quirky place with a number of steps up to the lift and stairs. The lift didn't always work. The breakfast was very basic and there was nowhere to eat it. There is construction work in the street immediately beside the building at present. Our room and bathroom were clean and the hotel is conveniently close to the metro. It is under new management; friendly staff but not always at the reception desk during the day.

Beautiful building and the room was nice and staff were friendly and accomodating of our late check in but there was black mold in the shower door area and wifi signal didn't reach our room only worked in the elevator and lobby. There was also only a little bit of hot water. Started going cold after 5 mins.

A little gem of property, ideal for a weekend stay. Staff were brilliant and sent us a check in link prior to our arrival which sped up the process. They were super friendly and explained that there was free juice, water, beer or coffee available and even croissants in the morning which we weren’t expecting. The rooms were clean with a comfy bed, especially liked the modern bathroom with waterfall shower. All in all a great stay and would definitely recommend. In future I would recommend some signage at the front door as we initially found the entrance difficult to find.

Whilst the hotel is very conveniently located less than a 30 seconds walk from Parallel metro station, it was a bit hard to find at first as the hotel entrance was a little hard to find. However the hotel staff had messaged us on WhatsApp before our arrival to confirm our room was ready, so a quick WhatsApp message helped us to find the entrance. For future reference to anyone reading this, the entrance is the big glass door with the ‘1’ above it next door to the Plaza restaurant.

The hotel in general was just five rooms so was very small inside, but our room did not feel small at all and was a very good use of the space. We were worried it would be tiny but this was not the case! The bed was also very comfy as well as very large and both the bedroom and the bathroom were very clean. The room was very nicely decorated and we appreciated the full length mirror!
The location was good - within walking distance of central Barcelona (10-15 mins walk to Las Ramblas, 25-30 mins to Sagrada Familia). And the Parallel metro station is almost right outside the hotel entrance which was perfect for us. There are also some nice bars and restaurants within walking distance!

If you want to know how it feels to live in an apartment in Barcelona then give this a try. It's an old fashioned building with loads of character but has modern fixtures and fittings

The hotel itself is nice, although be advised that it doesn’t have much in the way of signage inside or outside. To enter you go through a door that looks like an apartment building next to a Turkish restaurant. There are stairs up to the elevator and interestingly there are 3 flights up to the first floor where reception is located. Our room was on the floor labeled 2, which was a flight above reception (four flights up from the ground floor). Our room was marked 2-10 and to get to it you had to go through a main door with your key card (this door was labeled ‘3’) and then into room number 10. Our key card randomly stopped working one morning so we couldn’t get back into our room after we had left (reception is not open all the time), but it was working later that day. Despite these oddities, the location is convenient, the place is clean and the staff are all very kind and helpful.

Disappointing stay, I think the ‘hotel’ consists of 5 rooms, converted from an office/large apartment. Main lobby entrance to suites, all rooms lead off it. Our room had the wall half painted green (with battlements), looked half finished like a student attempting to decorate. Window looked over a narrow, dingy back alley which was the rear or other buildings, laundry hanging out to dry on very messy balconies, also noise from those buildings with their windows and doors open. Noise from floor above every night waking us up. Room had a lot of dust on lamps and floor. On a plus side, free Nespresso coffee, juice, fruit, pastries and yoghurt in the morning, but only from 8.30 onwards and we were gone by then - hotel did not advertise this so was an extra.

The location is great. Staff is nice and helpful. But personally, I will not select this hotel again, it is not a hotel to me. It’s more a hostel. It has only a few rooms and our room door just open to the reception desk so privacy wise it’s not up to my standard. But if just looking for a place to stay and can travel conveniently, it maybe good.

The area can be a little intimidating at night time and can get a little noisey, however we felt perfectly safe and the hotel provide great ear plugs.

The check-in was fast and so much nicer than the usual hotel check-in as it felt very personal (the check-in desk is actually on an upper floor, so you use the intercom to get into the building and take the elevator up to a small reception area).
Our room was cosy and modern - again a big improvement over typical hotel rooms.
The room was soundproofed but it doesn't stop all sound, but overall, nothing kept us awake or woke us up.

This is an excellent inexpensive two star hotel. Hard to beat in that market segment. Clean, and comfortable if a little small. Plus the breakfast and happy hours are also pretty good amenities. Our only complaint is that they don't bus the dishes enough during breakfast.

Like having one last cup of coffee / tea was going to bankrupt them or something!

Casa Vaganto has a unique boutique B&B feel. The rooms are lovingly decorated with a contemporary Spanish feel, and the community breakfast /coffee area was stylish and very comfortable. The \"light continental breakfast\" was more than that with warm fresh baked croissants, veggie & fruit options, a fritatta or other warm dish, and yogurt, and there's an espresso machine for diy cappuccinos, lattes or espresso. Tea and orange juice were also available. We were greeted by Cecille, and she was great-- super friendly, and knowledgeable. We took advantage of leaving our luggage for the day after checking out and when we returned Cecille offered to have us sit down and have a coffee and rest before leaving for our flight. The hotel is located very close to the Metro, and this made getting to Sagrada Familia, Montjuic, and many other locations -- including the airport-- very easy. I highly recommend this place! We would return in a heartbeat.

We loved staying at this hotel! It came with a solid breakfast. The croissants especially were on point. The metro stop is only a few steps away past the one shop that’s called “cactus..” something. It was an easy spot to get to right after the airport. The room is typically small for Europe no surprises there but really well designed. We wish we went to the happy hour but came home too late most days. The hotel is located a block away from an alley full of tapas restaurants and lots of markets near by. Francesca was an amazing hostess!
