Big and clean rooms but the breakfast buffet and restaurant left a lot to be desired. The western part of the breakfast buffet was almost always empty and didn't have a lot of choices. We also tried the shabu shabu in the evening and I felt sick the following night (the only time in my 3 weeks trip).

Very mediocre compared to other Mitsui Garden Hotels. Small rooms, unattractive and small public areas. The staff were unhelpful in recommending restaurants and transportation options. No way is this hotel a 4 start Two to three star woud be more appropriate.

This was a nice hotel! The bed was soft and comfortable compared to most Japanese beds. The room was a decent size, though the bathroom was a bit small. Great location for exploring Kanazawa. And the breakfast was so good!

The hotel and everything that you need and this beautiful hotel. I did take breakfast my last day and it has a lot of Japanese selections but western selections are minimal. Location was pretty good although I think you need to take bus or walk a lot in Kanazawa.. there was 711 and everything you need conveniently by. There was a bus stop near the hotel. The public bath was nice and refreshing even if it’s not hot spring it still felt very good. The bed was super comfortable probably so far the best bed I’ve had in Japan and I’ve been here a week so far.. the hotel uses luggage forwarding which is good and the staff were pretty helpful but as most English is a little limited, I would stay here again

Our stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel in Kanazawa was great. The property is beautiful and meticulously maintain. The location is close to all the \"must see\" sites. Best of all is the extremely friendly and helpful staff. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon!

This hotel is located close to Omicho Market with bus stops right in front of it. The room is very clean, with nice interior. The staffs are very helpful and speaks English. Taxi from and to Kanazawa station is around AUD $10-15. Highly recommended.

Parking was offsite and we didnt know that we could go around back to unload luggage then go park so we walked quite a bit with all of our luggage. Check-in was easy but super crowded with foreigners. They put all the amenities next to the frontdesk and that area gets very crowded which blocks access the lobby and the elevator. I was pinned in the corner by foreigners for sometime because of this setup. Recommend it be moved. The room was large and had a proper king bed that was midly comfortable. The breakfast was overpriced so we opted to go to the market down the street instead. Checkout was much easier knowing we could park behind the hotel for a few.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa. It’s within 15-20mins walking distance of all Kanazawa’s main sites, and the hotel’s onsite onsen is great - especially after a long day sightseeing. The staff were kind and the breakfast was great. The only criticism is the check-in process - they made all clients wait until 1500 on the dot to check-in regardless of whether rooms were ready or not. If I could give a score for check-in, it would be very low. Other than that, I’d recommend this hotel for your stay in Kanazwa.

Rigid about 3pm check in. No breakfast tea in room only green tea and non available at reception. Advertised happy hour in bar from 5-7pm but we were told they were full so couldn’t have a drink. Very dated bathroom with shower over bath and toilet in same room. No wardrobe for hanging clothes, nowhere comfortable to sit in reception whilst waiting, no drinking water available in common areas.

The room was super clean. The staff was welcoming and the breakfast was completely worth it. We travelled closer to new year where most of the city is closed. Not having to hunt down breakfast every morning made our stay even more lovely. The food in the morning is top quality with plenty of choices.

The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the station but close to the samurai village and right behind the garden. We would stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights while in Kanazawa.
PROS: Only 5 minute walk to Shinto Shrine and around 15 minute walk from Omicho Market and Nagamachi Samurai District. The area has easy access to the main train station, 15-20 minute walk. Many dining options around, but not a lot to choose from and some good ones require reservations beforehand. The staff is very helpful, accommodating and professional. Room was very spacious enough for 2 people and their carry-ons (not like the tiny rooms of APA Hotels that can hardly fit 1 person) and they were very clean and tidy. The water pressure of the shower is very good.

CONS:: The mattress and the pillows were a bit firm, so they weren't the most comfortable ones, even though I travel to Japan often and I am used to different types of mattresses. The bedroom windows had a wall in the middle which made the room seem darker even when there is daylight, & prevented from full window views, but I guess that is the architecture of the building overall. I recommend it to anyone looking to visit Kanazawa, but don't stay more than 2-3 nights since there isn't much to do in Kanazawa overall.

If you can get a room away from the main road, this hotel would be amazing - 10/10. We unfortunately were facing the main road and the windows are not well insulated. Even with a noise machine, I could still hear traffic all through the night. The rooms are clean, the beds are extremely comfortable, the onsen was the best of our Japan experience, and the breakfast was PHENOMENAL. It was truly just the noise issue. If you aren't sensitive for noise, check this place out because it is very central. However there are tons of hotels nearby that are on quieter streets too.

The street noise does come through a bit, but since nighttime is calmer, did not cause an issue for me to sleep. The hotel has an onsen too, which is a nice way to restore yourself after travelling, or a long day walking.
