Fantastic hotel, in a beautiful city. So far in our travel across Japan this has been our favorite stay, and we hope to come back to explore more of Kanazawa someday. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The Onsen seemed very nice as well, but we could not use it do to our tattoos (the hotel does offer stickers to cover them for ¥100, we just had too many to cover)

The rooms were lovely. Unfortunately the toiletries are not in the room only in the onsen which I didn’t find ideal. The garbages in the rooms are really tiny and I’m all for sustainability but this doesn’t really make a lot of sense when you’re catering to travellers in a City that doesn’t provide garbage facilities leaving them no choice but to bring it back to their hotels. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with really wonderful staff. I just wanted to point out a couple things that could use tweaking.

The rooms were a decent size and the hotel had a modern Japanese aesthetic, I loved the natural colours and materials. Very well designed. The facilities and rooms were really nice and clean. The onsen was also a great addition which is free for hotel guests. They provide you with slippers and pyjamas to use around the hotel. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash was also really good quality with a lovely scent. The hotel is centrally located and easy walk to both the samurai and geisha districts. The Japanese breakfast is superb but might not be to everyone’s taste. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

I wish I had eaten breakfast or dinner here - it looks like it would be great -- but be aware when traveling Japan that you often need to reserve ahead of time. We did not reserve, and when we checked in, everything was booked. Loved our room, the lobby, did not use the onsen but they looked very nice. Hotel location seems be about as good as you can get.

We loved our stay in Kanazawa. Most clean room out of everywhere we stayed in Japan - it was spotless. Best bathroom with a large shower, however almost no counter space at the sink. We somehow could hear the crosswalk signal from our room instead of the room being entirely quiet. I do not recommend using the laundry as its a washer dryer combo unit and the drying cycle takes far too long given the clothes kind of get steamed so after hours of drying we gave up and used our room’s hair dryer, which was successful. Unfortunately they don’t offer luggage transfer.

Fantastic set piece Japanese breakfast if that’s what you’re after. Rooms well designed and relatively large. But for all the focus on food, onsen, etc, don’t neglect the basics, like not leaving hair in the bedrooms and cleaning the walls properly. Cleanliness a definite negative. The design of the hotel with the small floating reception area also made it feel somewhat impersonal in my opinion.

I chose the Japanese Style King room, and after 3 nights, I have to say, I picked the wrong room. It is not comfortable. It's not easy to navigate the room with no chairs or regular table. The bed is low on the floor and the sitting is on the floor, so expect to stand up from the floor a lot if you choose this room.

The room is 375 sq ft (which is not bad), but it feels very small and crammed. The bathroom also feels small. There is no room to place your suitcases, so we ended up placing them on the sitting area. There is no wardrobe to hang your clothes, and there is little shelving.

Expedia lists this as a 4-star, I say it's a 3-star. Amenities is limited. There is no coffee in the room. The hotel doesn't have ta q bin pickup service (luggage out-going transfer). Luckily there is a ta q bin office nearby.

Location-wise, it's great. Omicho market is right across the street. And a couple of small malls also nearby. Hakomachi next door has many restaurants inside too. The hotel is also within walking distance to main attractions. Also, it's quiet.

Yes, I'd stay here again, but definitely in a more normal room, and lower my expectation of the '4-star' rating.

The location is very nice - quiet but still convenient (located in the mid-point between Kanazawa JR Station and Chaya District). Extremely clean and well-maintained. The public bath opens early at 5am and we went to enjoy it when we woke up early due to jetlag. Staff are very friendly.

The room and facilities were clean, sleek, stylish, and upscale. Service in the hotel and restaurant was a little cold, not as welcoming as other experiences. Onsen doesn't allow tattoos, which was disappointing after staying at many other wonderful hotels that had no issue with tattoos. But the highlight was the breakfast. Honestly this was the best food of our entire visit to Japan. Gourmet, seafood-centric boxes filled with absolute deliciousness.

Pictures shown are more impressive than property as most of it is plain corridors and minimal decorated rooms you won’t get same feeling as in images.
Restaurant serving Japanese breakfast (no coffe..), dinner is fix menu and cross street there is fish market with plenty of local food at better prices.
Room is minimal well designed but small to Japanese standards. Have all you need.
Price was reasonable for location.
No space to hang around in a cafe or lobby.
No parking in premises bit behind the building there is a Parking garage 24h.
Suit NOMAD population.

The hotel is in a good and central location. The room was very clean but a bit small and cramped. The Japanese style futons were comfortable, annd the room was very quiet. The onsen was super nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Small points to consider:
1. Restaurant has no western style breakfast.
2. Lobby is basically a hallway with no comfortable place to sit, have a drink, etc.

Soki Kanazawa is a nicely appointed, modern hotel with small but comfortable rooms, great breakfast, and an amazing onsen. We truly enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the hotels proximity to the Omicho Market for lunch, dinner and the occasional snack. There are plenty of other sightseeing diversions nearby as well. The only thing this hotel lacks if a comfortable place to hang out when you're not in your room or in the onsen.

I enjoyed my stay at Soki Kanazawa. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The room was very clean and nicely laid out. The restaurant in the hotel serves great Japanese breakfasts and the dinner Chef's kaiseki is fabulous. The restaurant staff is very good too.
The location was ideal for my 4 night stay in Kanazawa.

The only suggestion I have is for more lighting to be set up over the cabinet, refrigerator, counter area. That area is quite dark at night

Everything was wonderful overall. The onsen was excellent and the room was very comfortable. A few additional practical hooks for hanging jackets or scarves would make the space even more convenient. The hotel was spotless, beautifully minimal, and great value for money. Breakfast was beautifully presented, and while I personally prefer warmer and more strongly flavored dishes, it was still a pleasant start to the day.

It was average, the check-in service felt clumsy and chaotic with semi-self service. At the same time the front desk staff (at least 3 people who I interacted with during my stay) who were lovely and trying to welcome us, did not speak english at all, considering the majority of the clientele were not Japanese. The room itself was clean but small, and the breakfast (2600 yen or so) is very heavily seafood based i.e. oysters cooked in fish broth, grilled salmon, prawns, seaweed with some other fish flakes, dried plum, spicy miso paste. If you have a western palate that may be too intense for breakfast. I also stayed in another hotel significantly cheaper with nicer room amenities in the city with incredible free breakfast so unless you really want to use their small but busy onsen which requires additional payment for tattoo stickers, or you really like their location, then I would consider going elsewhere.

The only thing I didn’t like was the amenities. No coffee, brush, razor or any other items that most hotel give it out.

The breakfast was excellent and it felt like I was being served. It was also good that they served different foods every day. The spa was not large in size, but it was perfect for relieving fatigue after the trip and the water quality was good.
Everything was clean and the staff were very friendly. I will come again next time.
