The property was well maintained, very clean, the decor was minimalist and very nicely designed. The laundry room was very useful (and popular with guests in the evenings), the 2 tea tables on the 3rd and 5th floor were often empty and peaceful for sitting and enjoying the free tea. My only issue was that we didn't get the expected room upgrade at check-in for Expedia Gold VIP status even though it looked like larger rooms were still available on the website.

A really welcoming hotel, perfectly located near near Kenroku-en, Kanazawa Castle Park, Omicho Market, and not too far from Higashiyama. Easy walk into downtown area too. Modern Japanese room was spacious and comfortable. There are good laundry facilities too, with multiple machines.

Great place for business or family vacation stay.

The suite was super clean and comfortable. I saw some reviews complain about noisy street. Quite conveniently located between the samurai district and the Omicho Market, 20 minute walk from the train station, 5 minute walk to Kanazawa Castle, etc. All this said, we had booked their smallest room with bunker beds, which was really small and with basically no surface to put the suitcases. The suite, however was amazing.

We stayed in Kumu hotel in Kanazawa and I honestly think this was our favourite hotel our entire trip. The double bunk loft room was amazing. Staff friendly and so helpful. Rented their bikes for the day and that was really fun! The hotel is impeccably clean and great location.

The room was very noisy. We could hear the cars and the continuous sound from the pedestrian crossing signals. The air conditioning had a timer, it did cooled but then it went back to 25 degrees. So at night time the room was not cold. The bathroom towels were very bad quality.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kumu Kanazawa. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the moderate room and it was spacious enough and comfortable. Bathroom was very clean. The breakfast was at a set time chosen by the customer, and alternated between 2 sets. Both were good and a satisfying way to start the day. The location is great, with easy access to buses, including the sightseeing bus that has stops right near the hotel. Would stay again.

Party of three adults stayed for 1 night in June. Nice Japanese design hotel is located within walking distance from Japan Rail station (15-minute walk). The neighborhood offers plenty of restaurant alternatives. Room was very nice and offered enough space for 3 adults with backpacks. The common areas are outstanding (On floor small kitchen, rooftop terrace, and laundry).

The hotel was fresh and contemporary. The lounge and dining area was fashionable and the bedrooms were well laid out. However, the ladder to the bunks was almost vertical and dangerous for children to climb up and down (especially during the middle of the night). The common lounge in the entrance level was not allowed to be used by guests if they had their own food and drinks and we were told to leave, even though there wasn’t a single other person there. Unfortunately, there was no other comfortable lounge for us to sit and relax. The hotel provides ‘tea tables’ on a couple of levels but these are large tables with ridiculous half stools that are very uncomfortable, and in a very dark internal environment with no natural light. There was no comfortable space for guests to sit and relax with their own drink. These tea tables provided a hibachi stove but no cooking implements to use it. A rudimentary rooftop space with picnic tables was a welcome relief for an evening DIY meal but too hot and with no shade during the baking hot day. Overall, it was a pleasant and basic hotel for a couple of days, the staff were friendly and helpful, but this hotel wasn’t half as good as the Kyoto location which had a guest lounge.

Loved the ambiance of the whole hotel, it has this relaxing vibe to it. The room we booked its pretty compact; it is pretty small and with three people got a little tight. However it helps when the common area its just outside our room. We ducked out to get hot water and tea. Their green tea is a must try.

New. Modern stylish design. There are 2 Share Hotels in Kanazawa. This Kumu Share Hotel is 10 mins walk from Omniya fresh produce market. The Haachi Share Hotel is 5 mins walk from the Higa district (traditional Jap buildings). Walkable to train station but with luggage, the taxi fare of 1,000 yen is very reasonable.

Very good - perfect to explore the city.

Very good hotel in the center of Kanazawa. The hotel has an industrial/ loft style mixed with Japanese ryokan, all in all very nice.

There is a laundry room available and the room is comfortable.
The castle and park are at walking distance and in front there is a bus stop that will allow to easily explore the entire city

Hip, well-priced hotel near everything

We liked this hotel a lot. Check in was easy. Many of the staff speak at least some English, which made it easy for us non-Japanese speakers. The room was Japanese style, with futon beds on a raised tatami platform that also had a small table and sitting cushions. The shower and tub were spacious. Everything in the hotel was extremely clean. There are two tea lounges on guest floors for all guests to use and a lounge on the ground floor serving a good breakfast and drinks/snacks for happy hour.

The location was convenient, a short bus or 20 minute walk from the main train station. It is situated on one of the major roads, which is serviced by the tourist-focused loop bus. Walking distance to Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen Gardens, and many other local attractions.

Would stay here again.

Modern and clean aesthetic, and generally quite comfortable. However, it lacks some amenities like in room drip coffee and an in room phone (even just to dial the front desk). There were also no windows in some rooms and it felt a bit dark. Lastly, check out time is relatively early at 10am and costs an extra 2000 yen to delay by an hour.

The interior of the hotel has a delightful combination of traditional Japanese style with modern comforts. I particularly liked the tearooms which were available for use by guests. The buffet breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed by our family, and the choices were plentiful. The location was a manageable walk from the train station or a short bus ride away. There are many options nearby for eating out and shopping. The location is convenient to many of Kanazawa's main attractions include galleries, castles, gardens, and market. Our only disappointment was that we could not stay longer!

Service was not good! The room was ready and they wanted extra charge for 1 hour early cheak in. This is unacceptable! At the end they waived the fees.

The location, service, breakfast and cleanliness was all excellent and very modern in Japanese style. The only slight negatives were that the room was small (normal for Japan), and the beds not very soft (also normal for Japan). PS. Also good reliable Wi-Fi at no cost.

We arrived in Kanazawa in a thunder, lightening and hail storm and were confined to the hotel for the evening. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and we had a thoroughly relaxed and pleasant evening in a beautiful room.

A modern take on Japanese tradition.
The best specification Toto in Japan.
Spacious, clean and well thought through from the corridors to the art and beyond.
Crisp bedding, gowns, wall hung wooden wardrobe, beautiful tea pots, seating area.
Beautiful brass font directions, bamboo ceilings.
Cake display was exceptional too.
The architect/designer knows their stuff.

チェックアウトの際も『お荷物預かりますよ』と言っていただき、その後楽に観光できました。ありがとうございました。

朝食も地元の食材をふんだんに使われていて、とても美味しかったです。

お部屋が全体的に暗かったので、卓上ミラーの灯りがつかなかったのがメイクの時に不便でした。洗面所だけでも明るめの照明でも良さそうです。

Wir hatten ein Zimmer ohne Fenster, das wirkt auf mich schon etwas wie ein Gefängnis. Hatte ich zum ersten Mal, würde ich nicht mehr buchen.
Das Wifi ist extrem langsam und brach zwischendurch ab.
Kostenpflichtige Parkplätze gibt in in 2-3 Minuten zu Fuß.
