The hotel was simple and clean. Our train came in the morning and the desk was able to hold our bags til check in. The room suited our needs. The heater wasn’t cranked up like most other hotels we’ve stayed in around this time, thankfully. We were only staying overnight so we didn’t have much baggage with us, but tho the room may be that of the typical business style hotel, I appreciated the little nook on the far end of the desk which could perfectly situate a medium size luggage or even two carry on rollers.
The location was good. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the train station along the main road. From there, most of the main sight/attractions are also 10-15 mins or so out in either direction (higashi chaya, omicho market, nagamachi, Kanazawa castle, etc). I believe there are some convenience food for purchase in the lobby, but there is also a 7-11 across the intersection and a Lawson and Fami Mart a few blocks back towards the station. There’s also a drugstore in that general area. The Main Street that takes you from the train station to the hotel hosts a lot of shopping and eateries.

The room was very hot, staff told me the air conditioning was turned off, the room was 78. The window did not open, I was given a electric fan which made a big difference, I would have left without the fan. Close to the castle typical Japanese city stuff in the area. Fish market interesting.

We loved our stay here. The bed is so comfortable, even provided 2 pillows for each guest. Room is very clean. Walkable to places of interest. Staff are nice and helpful.

I'm going to try not to be too hard on this property as some of what happened wasn't their fault, but my stay here was one of the worst I've had anywhere in recent memory. My rating of the hotel might seem higher than what this review suggests, but I'll try to explain. First, the staff and hotel's condition were fine. My problems focused mainly around the AC/heating unit in the room. So... I don't know what the issue was as I never figured it out, but the AC wouldn't come on. It was almost like the property had disabled it since its as already fall and was getting pretty cool at night. Either way, this wasn't really a problem because it was cool outside and the window opened. But what then happened was at night... (Only at night) The heater would randomly come on (even though the entire system was off) and then would just blast heat into the room until you got up and turned off the system... It literally wouldn't stop until you manually shut it off. It did both nights. So what ended up happening was I'd leave the window open because it was cool, then construction in the middle of the night on the street below forced me to close the window due to noise. But then the heater would randomly kick on and I'd wake up sweating. Leading to me having to open the window again because the AC wouldn't work. This cycle occurred both nights. Not the hotel's fault there was loud construction at 1am, but the heater... It was a nice, clean hotel. I think I just got really unlucky.

Very nice staff and an overall comfortable place to stay. I only wished the coffee maschine in the lobby could be used (it was covered by a sheet) the four days I was there). It would have been nice to able to get a coffee or hot chocolate.

The hotel was clean and well-equipped with everything a traveller might need. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had good facilities, including a shower over a seated bath and a warm toilet seat with all the bells and whistles. There was a teapot and cups in the room, and additional amenities were available at reception. The staff were very helpful and spoke English. The hotel is within walking distance of markets and parks.
The only minor drawbacks were the compact room size, which made it difficult to fit a suitcase, and the lack of a proper wardrobe—just a couple of hooks on the wall with hangers. Another small inconvenience was the high threshold to enter the bathroom. Otherwise, everything was great.

Beautiful property, great location. The only issue was one of their washer/dryer machine wasn’t drying. Ran the dryer for 2hrs and clothes were still wet. Told front desk and they said that’s how it is… the other machine worked fine.

I usually stay at this Hotel brand in Japan as it is reasonable in cost. In this particular hotel the bathrooms are step up. And the step up is very high. This could be a problem if older and to avoid tripping. I also notice stains on the carpet that should be cleaned.

The hotel was really good, I already stayed in this hotel chain in 2 other cities I Japan and I really enjoyed. Room is good size, has everything that you need, good location. They even gave me bottles of water for every night that I spent. I would definitely stay again in this hotel.

Unizo in is a newer hotel so very nice and clean. Good area between the train station and downtown. Not far from main sites walking. Rooms are very small but that's typical in Japan.

The location isexcellent, very close to the castle, the gardens, DT Suzuki museum and also within easy walking distance of the railway station and many other places you would want to visit. There is also a hop on hop off bus on a circular route to many places of interest.

Highly recommended for budget hotel
Not fancy but clean, new in 2018, and great for budget price. Small but efficient use of space, typical for Japan hotel. Standard amenities; fast wifi, one bottle of water per day, etc. Thermostat in room but system is set to Heat or AC only, depending on the season. I was warm at night in the fall when only heat was on, but the window opened for fresh air. Twin room was perfect for myself, couples used to western standards may find rooms a bit small. Convenient location about 15-20 minutes walk in all directions to most sightseeing spots and Kanazawa train station. Bus stop and Omicho Market a few minute walk away. JR bus (free with JR pass) picks up at train station bus platform #4 (you can take either blue or red line bus to get to the hotel, get off at Omicho Market stop), or for 200yen take a non-JR bus which comes more frequently. Elderly people or those with mobility issues may find the 1 foot step up into the bathroom a problem (see attached photo).
