One of our most favorite parts about staying at hotels is getting to enjoy free continental breakfasts and free coffee all day long. So, of course, we excitedly woke up the kids and rushed downstairs to go and enjoy the morning with a delicious breakfast. To our dismay, we discovered that breakfast is $19.99 a person. Or if you charge it to the room $15.99 a person.. And you can't just go and get lemon water or coffee thru out the day, which is wild to me... The next issue is that i spent almost $500 on a \"suite,\" and the kitchenette was completely empty. No plates, no dish soap, no nothing. I've never stayed in a suite that didn't provide those basic amenities.... What is the point of having a kitchenette if you have to bring your own stuff. As a person who only rents suites, this is the most mediocre and overpriced experience coming from a hotel that presents itself as being so nice and fancy.... I have stayed at so many places and spent so much less money on a way better experience/environment. You know i hate that im complaining so much, but it really was disappointing. There were so many drunk people down in the lobby partying that me and my special needs daughter and I felt so nervous about going anywhere in the building. Last night, they were screaming and banging things around in the room below us. Thankfully, we always bring fans, which helped muffle all the noise.... The saving grace was the pool. I'm so glad the kids at least got to enjoy that.

We stayed at the Lodge the Sunday after Labor Day. We loved the quiet, beautiful location along Lake Erie. The walking path along the lake is lovely, and our dinner at Horizons was great. I particularly loved the selection of local wine. We would definitely come here again if we were passing through Ohio.

While our stay was fabulous, I could not give a five star rating due to the price (after taxes and fees) $415 for one night, only to be hit with another $15 resort fee at check in. Don’t get me wrong, the property is immaculate, bedding very nice, and super quiet room and resort, but the extra $15 was just a step too far for me!

Relaxing stay on Lake Erie

It’s a beautiful property right on the lake with lots of amenities. Pool and shuffle board were our favorites. Our A/C kept us up all night, extremely loud. Maybe needed maintenance. Some issues with waiting for our lunch but was resolved. Fabulous desserts. Breakfast buffet exceptional.

Absolutely hands-down the BEST family reunion experience! The resort is perfection for every age group from little-littles to teens to adults and the elderly. Lots of well-placed stopping spots on the walking/bike path that circles the resort to catch your breath, or have it taken away by a gorgeous sunset. Every single Staff person was friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast every morning at Horizon's, the restaurant on the gorgeous GOTL grounds and ate dinner there twice. The food was great and the wait-staff accommodating and upbeat. We booked a reunion again next year, same time/same place - a unanimous decision by every person in the family! Much gratitude to the wonderful people at GOTL Lodge!! 👏

The views where amazing. The rooms where nice the only thing preventing me from giving this property 5 stars is the fact that we had a maintenance person walk into our room without knocking while I was getting dressed. This is something to keep in mind especially if you have children with you during your stay. Other than that negative experience it was a nice getaway

Just a quick trip but worth it!!

My family and I only stayed for an overnight. From check-in to a quick purchase at the gift shop on our way out, we experienced wonderful friendly service. The property inside and out was beautiful and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Quiet, clean, friendly and calm. My sister and I love to stay here and do the wine shuttle. So FUN!! Our room had a great view and it was nice to sit on the patio and look at the lake. It was nice to walk along Lake Erie.
