Friendly manager and cleaning crew. The cleaning crew only replaced towels no actual cleaning during stay, not even sink or shower. The coffee pot was disgusting with mold inside. Very minimal and tiny shampoo, conditioner and soap. No tissues or extra toilet paper. Also, no hair dryer. Dirty baseboards and floors. Cobwebs and spiders in corners, ceiling edges and shower. Open gap under door at street level for anything to crawl in. Deck area around is decent and everyone seems to use it. Not exactly what I would call a beach. It's metal steps down and a small potion of rocky sand to the water. The walls are ceiling are thin and you hear people stomping among other noises. I would hope that repeatedly reported noisy guests would be asked to not return. The parking lot is very tiny. The sister motel the palms had a pool to use but no towels. It was also, a bit dirty. The pool is also not manned and kids are were left alone to misbehave and act dangerous with jumping and flipping. The location was ideal for walking and being near the action.

Everything was great. Only complaints are parking is really tight. The last parking spot next to the building is scary. You can’t see where the edge of the cliff is. My wife had to stand outside a tell me when to stop. The only other issue was the shower curtain is about 3 or 4 inches to short so water runs all over the bathroom floor and is causing the new molding around the shower to decay. The room was clean. The location is very convenient to the strip. The view from the balcony out back is amazing. Maybe cement a few posts in the ground so folks can see where the edge of the cliff is. Other hint get your items out of the car before you park. Its really tough to open you door without hitting another vehicle. Great stay and location. Ps. Some restaurants only take cash. The breakfast diner a few blocks down on same side of the street is amazing.

Room wasn’t the cleanest, outdated bed clothing, we did not get a water view off the back which is what we were hoping for and there were lots of flying bugs near and on the doors , it had a musty odor as well. But it was nice to open the window and listen to the waves at night.

The lake view was breathtaking. They were quick to respond to text messages (within minutes). The main issue was the parking. The lot is VERY small. Other guests did not park within the lines, but there is plenty of free parking on the street. The steps leading down to lower levels and the lake balcony could be marked better. The location is perfect for a quiet place away from most of venues, a short walk. I would stay again.

Check in is different, there isn't anyone there to meet you. The process is through a text on your phone and that's difficult if your cell service isn't great. However, when I connected to their wifi (posted on the office door) and called the number for help, everything worked out. Parking isn't great, spaces are very tight, but there's additional parking close. There's a nice night life and you can get some beautiful sunrise and sunset pictures.

When we arrived at the motel on one was at the motel to check us in. We called the phone number that was on the door. No one answered and the voicemail was full. We went and got the other family member to see if they had any information. Tried to call and nothing. Went back and looked in the mailbox and the keys were there for both rooms. Finally got a call several hours later and she was unbelievably rude on the phone. The room was clean. That was the only good thing about the motel.

Check in was easy, there were no extra locks on the door, just the electronic lock, no deadbolt. Terrible internet, cable tv was good. The room was not cleaned thoroughly it was still dirty in some spots there were dead bugs behind the nightstand,some kind of beads from the last guest all over the floor. The

You can hear everything in the rooms around us, we hope the neighbor that was dry heaving all night is ok. The sheets were dirty including the comforter and pillows. We asked for new towels because the other ones were dirty and it took 45 minutes to get, then the on site manager who delivered just handed me the towels and walked away. The
Parking lot was a mess, no one parked in the lines so we had to park down the street. This hotel was not worth the $140 we paid for.it but we were stuck because everything else was booked. We also had a full size bed and it was supposed to be a queen. I asked the management about it and they said it was indeed a queen but it was not! I have a queen at home and there is a difference so i didnt bother addressing any.other issues. Sometimes you get stuck i guess.

My girlfriends and I stayed for 2 nights for thunder on the strip. Very close to all of the nightlife and restaurants. Parking is tight like others said, but we never moved the car. Apparently we missed room service when they came by so we never got new towels. We walked down to the sister hotel and there was no one there to give us any. Overall we would stay again.

When we got there to check in the room had not been cleaned and it was about 4:30 in the afternoon. Staff was not aware it hadn’t been cleaned. We had an extra “hold” charge put on our credit card even though the room was totally paid for the day we booked. We went out for dinner and when we came back all the absavailable parking was taken and we had to park across the street.

The motel is no frills and I wasn’t expecting much but this place needs TLC and while yiu have an older motel there’s no reason for it not to be clean. As soon as we walked in there’s a huge spider we with bugs in it by the door. There were bugs in the shower as well. There’s a window with no covering in it that everyone walks by and an outside light so my husband used 2 hangers and pillow shams to cover it for privacy and to block the light. It is right on the water but not pretty due to trash. I will not stay here again the price was too high for what you get.

Limited amenities. It\"s simply a place to stay. No staff on site. Owners of the motel are located several blocks away at another motel. My room had a key pad to unlock. I was told the code would be sent to me via email and or text. Did not happen. I had to go to the other location to get the code. Fortunately there was an employee there who had my code. I do not travel much but was bewildered by the whole process. Maybe it's part of the \"nobody wants to work\" mantra. Disappointing.

The hotel itself is small and cozy, the room was very small, but ok. Floors was nice hardwood, walls needed touched up with paint but ok. The bed was a full sz very small full sz almost like a twin my husband's feet hung off the end. And it was very uncomfortable. The bathroom wasnt cleaned and only two windows one in bedroom and small one in bathroom. I thought i booked the one with the balcony but got a window side view of the lake.
Was excited about attractions but needless to say its off season, hardly nothing open so for anyone wanting to go dont go in August because we were told everything closed since school is back in and all the business help/workers went back to school.
Great views of the lake and wineries, covered bridges.

This place is great! We had a room by the lake. Our room in particular had a kind of hall to get into the room and unfortunately the AC was in the hall so it was very hot in our room. We did have to buy a fan to sleep comfortably. Had no problems with the keypad entry. Is there actually a pool here, because we did not see it. The weather wasn't great, so we wouldn't have been able to use it anyways. Walk to bars and the strip. Tiny little beach available and limited parking. Bed was a little soft for my liking and the room could have probably used a coat of paint. Long story short, we would definitely stay here again.

Extremely disappointed. Check in at a different hotel 2 blocks away. Website showed lakefront with balcony. Did not receive that. Our view consisted of the parking lot. Could barely fit our vehicle in the parking lot it was so small.Website showed a pool. Again, you had to walk 2 blocks to a different hotel for the pool. No attendant at the hotel. Called because Direct TV was not working, couldnt get anyone to answer until 2 days later after we had left and we already home. Asked if we needed something. Website advertised a private beach. It was the size of a small room in a house. And access was extremely unsafe. Railing was not anchored and moved a lot. Someone could get very hurt. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Will be posting on Social media all the untruths on this website and the false advertising about it.

We had to check in at another motel to get a code. No front desk at ours.
Air conditioner kept going on and off every 30 seconds.
Stated lakeshore view. Yes if we opened the door and went around the corner.
The place was ok because we were just staying over night. It was our first time in this area. Although we may come to the area again, we will not stay there.

I ordered a room with lake view and the room they gave me only had one window overlooking a roof then the lake. They did not clean the room the first night i was there of what was suppose to be a four night stay. They did not replenish the complimentary coffee the first night and when i asked them they told me they clean the rooms first then replenish the coffee, which they did not do, so we cslled our stay short anf weng home. Very poor hospitality towards customers.

No staff on arrival, instead I was t sent a door access code by text, but being from Canada, luckily I had an eSIM to get it or I’m not sure how we would have gotten in.
There was a huge pile of garbage bags left under our bathroom window, torn open by rodents or birds. Parking was terrible, the lines were the width of a vehicle leaving almost every second spot empty.
Dead bugs on window sills, stained facecloths, dingy looking bedspread.
This place was not worth the price, especially being the last room right by the street.

I was looking for a quiet waterfront room, and Pete's was perfect for that. The room was small but had what we needed. Very comfortable bed, mini fridge, and a great porch looking right over the lake.
Parking is cramped but manageable.
The not so great things:
no staff on site at all. Had to go up the road to get a key.
Sand and dirt in the shower, and someone's dried up bar of soap. Yuck.
It says no smoking, but there was a smoking pole on the porch and the peopme next to us smoked nonstop. They were very nice, but were often on the porch smoking right outside our room. I am allergic to cigarette smoke so that was a big disappointment.

This hotel could get 5 stars with just a bit of care. We noticed the “for-sale” sign out front, so hoping maybe new owners will take some time to polish up the place and take advantage of the potential it has. If we are ever back in GOTL, we would consider staying here again.
POSITIVES: Adorable beachy theme, quite roomy, clean & comfy. There were 2 chairs provided outside of the room to sit and enjoy the sunrise and sunset each day. Hotel is close enough to walk to the main strip but far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the quiet calmness of the water.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT: There was a sign instructing guests to park within the lines. However, the spaces are so narrow that there is no way to park within the lines or get in/out of vehicle. We were forced to park on the street if we were lucky enough to find a spot nearby. The stairs leading down to the lakeside rooms are treacherous, steep, with a useless handrail. The shower curtain rod was broken so it was just laying on top of the shower walls and kept falling off when you moved the curtain. There were not enough outlets in the room for c-pap or charging devices. The one available outlet was missing an outlet cover. The bed could have used some non-slip pads under the feet to keep it from sliding across the hard floor whenever you leaned on it. The worst thing was the bugs-we couldn’t turn any lights on without the bugs congregating above it on the ceiling.

Zero handicap parking. Staff were completely unresponsive. Could not use pool as there is no pool on site. It’s at their ‘sister location’ .4 miles down the street. Super ableist. No one answers the phone. It would be whatever if it was $80/ night, but it’s not. It’s loud, across the street from a loud bar. Parking spaces are too small. You couldn’t pay me to stay again. Pics are completely deceptive. It’s not on the water as it appears.

Parking was terrible. Spaces were so small, it was painted for golf cart parking, not for vehicles. We had to walk down steep stairs with hand rails way too low, it did not feel safe at all. 7 digit code for door? Ridiculous. I paid for a “Lakefront” room, but out the front door of our room was nice view of the neighbor’s house next to the motel, had to make a turn walk to the end of deck to see the lake, that was a flat out lie. Especially after seeing there were actual LAKEFRONT rooms available. About 2:30 in the morning, awaken by people screaming and hollering in the lake/beach. 4 drunk college kids playing in the lake. Then in about 5 am, the front door swung open and woke me up. I went out to see there were 3 people by the lake smoking pot. There was no safety chain lock on the door and wonderful beam of light coming in between the door/jam gap, letting light and bugs in the room. There was no hair dryer, no microwave, no open outlets to plug in anything. Hotel manager calls to scream and yell on the phone for \"throwing\" towel at the housekeepers???!! When they came knocking to clean the room, I just asked for fresh towels and gathered the used ones by the front door to receive the clean ones. Manager had no skills or training to deal with customers.
Place was very cheaply built, not maintained, not cleaned, bugs everywhere in the room by hundreds, no security, very poor standards. Avoid Pete's trash hole, avoid Geneva on the Lake. Not worth a visit.

This is an older motel. It shows its age. The door seals look like they should have been replaced years ago. Bugs get in through the cracks.

But the management has updated the interiors of the rooms. There are newer floors, fresh paint, the mattress was very comfortable and it was spotlessly clean.

Overall I would recommend it for people who are not picky. The views are really outstanding and everything in GOTL is in walking distance.

Some pointers - There is no pool on site. You can walk down the street to tge sister motel for their pool. Parking is tight, make sure you are good at reversing. The \"beach\" is subjective. You can access the water from the stairs, but there is no place to really sit. There is no office or staff to talk to other than housekeeping. You revieve a text with a door code.

For my husband and I, it was worth it and we would go back at that price point.

Small but clean rooms. Some insects. Bottom of the door looked like it had a tiny open, unsealed area so that could be why. Need more outlets to plug devices in. Two day stay, it worked for us. Would stay here again.

Scalding hot water

Scalding hot water in the shower ruined the experience as 4 of u were unable to shower. I have yet to receive a promised $100 refund for the experience. I talk to the housekeeper. That’s who calls me back. Bless her but where is management?

The room was clean.
The parking lot spaces are tight. We were there for two nights and at least one patron had to park on the street every night. I asked for our used towels to be removed from the room, they were not. If you are a handicapped person there is no way you can get a room with a view of the lake or even access the deck to view the lake as the steps are very steep.

This is a nice hidden gem. It is located directly on Lake Erie. They offer balcony rooms and the is also a nice large deck to sit on and watch the sunset. We had a lovely view from our room. Mallory, who checked us in was extremely helpful & pleasant. It is an older motel, but nicely kept and a bargain. Thanks!
