Is perfectly situated for exploring the Oaxaca, just a few minutes from main square and lots of cafes and restaurants. The hotel has a lovely courtyard with a cafe/bar. We had a lovely three night stay. Clean and good shower and facilities. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is an historic building but has been sympathetically updated, and with some tasteful pots and pictures. The owner has a good eye.

Our room was lovely and the hotel has a nice courtyard. It's only 2 blocks from the zocalo which is very convenient. But, our room was right off the courtyard and was often noisy when people were in the restaurant. However, it was quiet at night. It's a beautiful building, and of the 4 hotels we stayed in in Mexico it did the best job of trying not to use an endless supply of single use plastic water bottles. Instead we were given a glass bottle for drinking water.
We also stayed in another hotel in Oaxaca that was about ½ the price, further from Zocalo, but nicer facility overall with pool. And, breakfast was included. In my opinion Casa de Sierra Azul is nice but overpriced.

The hotel itself is beautiful, but unfortunately our stay was disappointing due to the room we were assigned. I had clearly stated that we were traveling with a toddler, yet the room had stairs and a large drop/separation between the living area and the beds, which was unsafe for a walking child.
The bathroom also had a very strong sewage/drain smell. While the shower was not working properly and required three calls to report, it was eventually fixed a day before we checked out.
Because of the safety concerns for my child and the overall experience, I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel for families with young children.

This was my 4th trip to Oaxaca but my first staying in a hotel. Best decision! The hotel itself is beautiful in an old, historic building. We loved the courtyard not only to eat but just to hang out and visit with our family. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Ricardo, manager, and all of the staff were kind, friendly and helpful. The area/neighborhood is quiet but is an easy walk to anywhere you might want to go. We will definitely stay here again on future visits and recommend it to anyone else - it was a fabulous experience!

We had a wonderful time at this hotel everything was on point. Cleaning everyday on time and pristine. Services at the front always there and attentive, they got us even private taxis to visit near by áreas. The bar is just wonderful, cozy and the staff is so nice and warm. The property is a jewel couldn't be happier to stay here and will definitely come back !!!

Very central to all, and room was beautifully appointed, and quite spacious The air conditioning worked well, bed was just right to our liking, not too soft, not too hard. You have amenities in the bathroom, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, soap that all smell heavenly “verbena”, as well as you are provided robes, a coffee station and bottled water. The hotel had bikes (4) and one motorized scooter for guests, did not use since we had a car. The “parking” is arranged with a 3rd party, and is around the block. However we did not use. Fortunately we were able to leave our car right in front of the front door (only one spot for loading and unloading) since we had a 5:00am departure. We would definitely return to this hotel, with one caveat, a room in the back that would be quieter.

I didn't eat breakfast, but I had dinner and the food was incredible! Super delicious with the traditional Mexican flavors that I was expecting and longing for! The hotel is beautiful, cozy and small enough to provide a feeling of being in your family's home visiting. The staff is extremely friendly, kind and always attentive! Ok let me start by saying that the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. A big thank you to Ricardo who kept sharing with us great meal spots around town, tips, etc... the rooms were clean and comfortable, AC worked just fine and the hotel is literally inside 3-4 blocks from the Zócalo downtown park area. Plenty of great restaurants to visit inside waking distance. Make a note that the hotel closes its main doors facing the street at 9pm which made us feel secure and they reopen in the morning. Noise was never an issue at this hotel, and we slept very comfortably. Awful experience with the Parking
Overall my experience was good, except for the parking. We were never told that sundays the valet did´t work so we went to the next parking we could find which was from the hotel Marques del Valle who were handling misleading advertising, because the fee they were charging ended at 3 am which means if you left your car one whole night they will charge you 2 days.When we refuse to pay double, we tried to leave, but they wanted to charge us one day because we have already entered their parking lot. Completely absurd and abusive. We ended up leaving and the employees insulting us.

We loved the proximity of the hotel to the square. We also really enjoyed the parking provided as it gave us peace of mind knowing our vehicle was safe inside a garage. I would highly recommend almost everything about this hotel. The only downside was the comfort of the beds and pillows, making this change would definitely increase my rating of this hotel.
