When checking in, the front office personal told me that I’m checking in a single room,
I said but I have my kids with me, what you mean a single room?! he said yes that’s okay we gonna charge you extra half price of the room!! They didn’t cuz I think one of the managers got in and said no that’s okay, they acted as that’s the first time for us to check in or see a hotel!!!!!! it wasn’t okay for me to be greeted that way!!
I was there for a wedding, other attendees for that wedding have booked other rooms, all booked the standard room which is 60$ cheaper than the highest one,
I booked the highest room category for my kids to be setting comfortable, when checked in, my room looked exactly like all other attendees room with nothing extra, while the front office assured me that I’m in a different building than the rest of the attendees for the better room, I found out I’m right next door to all the other attendees with nothing extra…with all rooms identical,
it wasn’t okay for me as well.

Dirty rooms only the main lobby building is renovated the rest of the hotel are afar clusters built in 2001 without any maintenance
The staff is rude unprofessional and my assistant was harassed after mid night by their security staff never again to stay there one of my worst experiences in Cairo

The outdoor pool is nice, however, as soon as you walk into the hotel the AC is very high and cold, we all got sick for that reason, we complained several times about this issue and it was neglected until they saw how ill we all became and the AC was then reduced at an acceptable normal level. The pool staff are lovely, the breakfast and breakfast staff are lovely, however overall hotel food, very limited options, its best to eat out but the issue to that is limited transport, everything needs a car there is nothing walking distance. Its more of a 3, maybe pushing 4 star hotel compared to other hotels I have been to.

The hotel was beautiful but lacked children entertainment and regular activities. Also the staff were not able to understand English so well but were super friendly, kind and caring. Specially Ahmed Abu Maryam and Mostapha from breakfast. Also, Fehmi was fantastic and helped us with our concerns and any issues we had. Fehmi went over and beyond to make our stay comfortable. What a star!!

Our room was never cleaned properly. Dust bunnies in all corners, they don’t really wash the floor but dry mop it. Toilet flushing buttons were never wiped clean and ironing board was left out. The curtains are set high and heavy and half falling off. Air conditioner temperature control really didn’t work well and was too cold so we shut it off to adjust the temperature. The fridge in the room was never stocked and they were going to charge me like I drank the entire minibar. The charge was removed. Bibi’s restaurant was good. Communication wasn’t that great.

The hotel itself is very nice. The staff is super helpful and friendly. A little pushy with giving 5* reviews . The mosquitoes were a bit much and sitting outside is quite annoying because of that. The access to get to the hotel is a pure nightmare to be honest. Not one taxi driver could find the entrance. It is very difficult to get there.

I was excited to have a relaxing time with my family but only to be very disappointed. At first we check in told swimming pool closes certain time only to find that it close a bit early which we would’ve enjoyed. Second the mosquitos… I don’t think I slept for more than 20 minutes because I was literally getting bites every minute. I felt like the sheets and the pillows weren’t as clean… finally after already paid for our stay the day before and got bites and uncomfortable sleep I get a new charge because the staff who checked me didn’t do the math right… knowing how international and high class this hotel I was very disappointed in our stay and probably won’t be coming back again.

I’m not sure if this is a 5 star hotel. It doesn’t depict this in any form. I’m used to 5 star hotels but this was an understatement. My first time in any a Mövenpick hotel. My room was devoid of different items. When I spoke to reception, I was told to call if I needed anything replaced. He was dismissive. Dust in different areas of the room.
The only thing good I could say was when I checked in close to midnight, I asked if I could get some for my daughter and I to eat and they did a good job. Otherwise, it was not a good experience.

They charged me $35 EXTRA PER NIGHT for having my son with me even thought my reservation clearly showed me booking a room with 2 beds for the entire stay.
They charged me for parking my car about 100 Egyptian pound per day..
My reservations had me paid for 2 breakfast per day, both of us only used the restaurant for breakfast only once out of 8 days , we got very sick from eating breakfast once and never ate again in that hotel.

The property is very old, first of all, the movenpick emblem at the front gate is missing some letters, secondly, the staff of the hotel were very unhelpful and when you need to order something you must expect at least 45 min waiting time, even if you ordered ice. All of the staff members offer help and assistance in exchange for tips, not for actually assisting. no tip means extremely limited assistance. third, the facility is very very old. all of the room doors needs fixing, the furniture is completely ruined, the bathroom needs an entire renew as the shower is old and messy as well as the toilet. the beds are extremely hard and please please please if you have a problem in your back do not sleep on that cheap bed their offering in their rooms. honestly for a movenpick hotel, I couldn’t be more disappointed and dissatisfied. the only good thing about the hotel was the pool which we couldn’t use in winter time. otherwise, I would recommend fully destroying the property and rebuild a new, modern, movenpick that is truly a movenpick.

It was pleasant but was a little far from the city. Front desk was a indifferent when I asked for help to get something from pharmacy. The stuff never came. Not sure if because I am a woman. We forgot our convertor there after we left. It took few calls to find it but they did find it. I am pleased with that one.

I was not pleased with the security. A three hundred dollar noise cancelling headert disappeared from my room.
At the SPA, the showers are not clean. The door had soap residue on it, the grant floor did not look clean and the door had rust on its hinges. They have one restaurant and the food is barely edible.

Room i got was really dirty, seemed like it wasnt cleaned for over a month, when i asked for a different room the receptionist said the hotel is booked (hotel was almost empty during my entire visit). Food is terrible in every way (quality, taste and freshness) and any outside orders would need to be personally picked up from the outside gate which is a really long walk specially after a long day of work (i guess its the hotels way to force visitors to order their food). Last time i stay here. such a shame used to love this hotel but their standard has really dropped over the past 2 years.

I booked a suite & when I arrived they couldn’t find me in the system.
The suite was to cold. They offered me extra heaters but they only had one, which is not enough to heat 85 sqm.
The rooms are not maintained at all & generally the entire hotel except the garden & pool area.

I will never ever stay or visit this hotel again.

The hotel experience was adequate. On day 2 the shower broke and we reported it to the front desk on 2 seperate occasions. We also had trouble with the key card for the room. It worked the first night and we had to get a new card 3 times, because it wouldn't open the door. Hence, service was fine and would get a 4 star, but with the troubles we had I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone else. I regret getting this hotel.

Stayed here during a business trip to Cairo, the place was secure and staff were helpful although they knew very little English. The room was clean.

- Working Refrigerator would of been nice

There is something terribly wrong about this place. My guess is due to reduction in number of tourists in the country, they are cutting on services and quality personnel, and the whole place is in decline. In four days that I stayed not even once I was able to open the door of the room with the electronic card that I had. Every time, after making two to three trips to the front desk trying to explain the lock is not working, they would eventually send a mechanic who at the end could only open the door with a master real (metal) key and promise the lock will be changed in the morning, only to find out that I will have the same experience the next day. I am not sure if the place is really being run by Movenpick, a company that has a good worldwide reputation. The deterioration of the premises is visible. For the price that they are charging, one should be able to find better hotels in Cairo.

The Movenpick Media City; Avoid!

When you book with a brand, you expect a minimal standard, the least of professionalism, attention and service. When you arrive to a hotel with a broken sign, a lobby older than my grandpa’s age, an untrained staff and a restaurant with a stinking smell... OMG! I would never book at a Movenpick ever again.

Not the best of hotels to say the least, as cheap as the one on the Dead Sea, the Movempick is an average dormitory, more of a low category family resort. Yellow lights, gold reflective materials, dark wood and old carpets are some of the materials constituting the cold lobby. A dark bar on the right side, a cantina with an open buffet of mediocre choices on the left, and a dirty ice cream fridge you’ll see on your way to the restaurant.

To reach the room, expect a travel time of five minutes, on tight alleys surrounded by brown grass. Reach a room, a cold white room, the cheapest bed I’ve ever seen, white tiles, white walls with no paintings to decorate it, an old television screen from the last decade, an empty fridge, a working desk from the old age and a balcony without a light.

A shameful hotel and this before even trying the bed or their food. I was surely not going to eat from that food down at the restaurant looking old and unappetizing so why not order dinner to the room.

Let’s eat:
- An hour passed and here comes the food!
- Food like I used to have at scouting camps.
- A chewy commercial pizza not edi

Overall Disappointing to say the least, Nice big hotel, perfect for Holidays with Families nice pools nice big rooms Cleanliness in rooms was good. My Main Concerns were, Breakfast service quality range was disappointing, Because i was working i had to leave most day before 8am therefore in breakfast earlier, this coincided with the tour groups having breakfast also therefore bedlam. They did not run a full service before 7.30 and even then am sure it wasn't full service until 9am, No Egg Station working, Cold food, No Salt in shakers, No Table coffee service, Toaster 3 times to get a bit of colour. (this was all communicated daily to the Head of F&B and the Reception Upon Leaving) The cost of water, coke in comparison to outside is 3EGP outside Hotel 30EGP water is 2.8 and 24

The Casino hahaha the most strange and Unwelcoming place i have been to, subsequently i find out that it is third party owned, I chose to go there 1 night have a gander maybe a flutter You need your passport which i was unaware prior to going, told them i was staying int eh hotel greeted with a SO!?!?!? ok finally compromise Drivers License is ok, Enter a large brown door walk through a dingy corridor three guys working on the tables EMPTY (literally totally empty) i was not greeted walked around the tables asked what currency i had to buy chips in after 3 times asking was answered with a grunt of USD, i asked where to acquire these USD point upstairs and grunted lobby, i left!

I like the Movenpick. Accommodation is in several blocks scattered around the pools. It has a nice relaxing atmosphere. The impressive new Mall of Egypt is across the road, but take care crossing! There is a footbridge about 800 meters along the road to the left. Gym is OK. Food is not brilliant but you will find something to suit. Nice pizza for USD 6.00! Good wi-fi.

It is hard to reach the hotel because of several errors in Google Maps. Oncr you are there it is fine - people are helpful, rooms are clean, meals are okay.

Family trip - Death in family

Had to stay three weeks close to family due to a death in family.
Hotel very nice, staff (Housekeeping and Restaurant) outstanding.
One problem, it is a \"resort\" setting, so there was music outside our room 4 out of 5 nights until past 11 o'clock
I did not pay to go to a \"disco\" in my pj's
It was loud and uncomfortable.
The management did not take into consideration the comfort of the guest paying money for staying there.
I am 74 years old and tried to retire earlier than than music would stop.
The hotel needs to take PAYING customers comfort into consideration before they play music outside the rooms.
A very nice place, good staff, but it lacked \"quietness\"
