Nice place, a bit older, but clean. close to ocean, but a bit of a walk to get there. Big climb to get to rooms, ok if you are not physically hampered. Close to some decent dining if you have a car. Food at property was average. Great value for dollars. Rooms very small and bank of 5 rooms share a small patio space. Nice common space below at front office. Many staff were volunteers from other countries learning to Kite Surf, they were all very friendly.

Clean and quiet! Great breakfasts and dinners and we had a to go burrito for lunch.
Parking a little hairy, very steep drive but we all fitted in.

Loved the stay

I had a great time here, Nicola and the staff were super helpful with finding things to do on days when it was too windy for my comfort level, and on days when the wind was perfect they had staff to help rent launch and catch kites. During my stay there we're a couple people to socialize with and the teras had some incredible views for sunset. Food menu changes every once in a while so there is a good assortment of food.

Lower your expectations

The hotel is well located, you have access to really nice beaches all around. And the staff was polite and friendly and resourceful.
The negatives is that the listing is misleading saying you are booking an apartment with three bedrooms when you are really booking a private room in a shared space, which for the price is fine I guess.
But the “apartment” was in poor conditions, kitchen and bathrooms weren’t very clean, towels seemed old and dirty. The bed in the room was small and uncomfortable for two people. The room consisted of the bed only, there were no benches, chairs, hooks, nothing for your personal belongings. And you hear all the noise from outside, you hear the traffic, people’s conversations down in the lobby/restaurant, the neighbors next door. So just beware of the situation.

I came here for the affordable price and good views of Salinas Bay. It did not disappoint! If you are not a fan of nature, don't come here. Nature sometimes comes inside (bugs). Food was okay but I could never seem to get the timings for meals right. Be sure to ask daily if you plan to eat at the resort.

There were several small bars and restaurants within ten kilometers if you'd rather find your own. I recommend El Puente, near the turn off to that long C word town or Tatay's west on 935.

ATTENTION: Do not take the dirt roads to this hotel as suggested by Google maps. Stay on road-roads or you will get stuck! If coming from the airport, the easiest way is to drive into La Cruz and take 935 west. 935 is a long, winding road with many scenic vistas.

I will definitely return so that I can do some kitesurfing. I did two days of lessons then a storm came and the wind stopped so I never got on the board. But I will, one day!

This is a very rustic little spot with the most beautiful views and sounds of birds. The staff are lovely but dont speak a lot of English, but you shouldnt expect that in a different country. We stayed one night and its a gem of a place.

The location is very good for access Papa Turro Beach that has calm water and very few people. It is a little further from Jobo Beach that is fantastic - white sand, no stones, calm water. The hotel is also very inexpensive. It is, however, basic - especially the standard rooms. I definitely recommend the junior suites. No luxurious but a considerably higher standard.

GOOD: kiteboarding BAD: comforts

The bed was huge but there is only 1 pillow per person. There was rat poop on the sheets that appeared in the night while I was sleeping! There is no place to hang anything or set clothing. The toilet is so close to the wall that my knees press against the wall while seated. The kiteboarding experience is where this hotel excels. At the end of a very active day I wish I had an extra pillow to rest on at least.

Perfect for a kite trip, great food, nice people

I visited Blue Dream for a kite trip to Bahia Salinas and will definitely be back again. The hotel and area are rustic so don't expect luxury or a party scene, but for a beach/kite trip I thought it was perfect. Every day, the hotel provides transportation to the kite beach and delivers lunch. The instructors will help with launching/landing and provide safety info and tips for the local conditions. The hotel restaurant was great and everyone was really friendly. The kite spot is beautiful, not crowded, and we had strong wind every day for a week.

We thought the staff was abundantly nice… Some of the sweetest people we have met on our travels in Costa Rica.

The rooms had quite a bit of spiderwebs and cobwebs which really scared my fiancé .. two chairs for each double room rather than one would have been more comfortable to sit outside .. The restaurant which serves some of the best pizza we’ve had in Costa Rica… Was out of many of the menu items unfortunately ... I ordered the homemade ravioli , then after I was told it was not availible ... then I was told they have it and when it came it was freezer burnt and not fully cooked NOT hommade pasta ...sad... this happened several times where things I ordered did not come as the menu described ... olive pate’ was replaced by diced lunch turkey meat ... yuck!!!

Pizza is the way to go... otherwise idk

Great Experience in the Bahia Salinas Area

First time in the area, I didn't have any expectations except for a place to sleep. This place has a high quality service, staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are comfortable and clean, all accommodations have a great ocean view, ideal for the sunset. The area doesn't have many options for going out for dinner, but it was good the restaurant of the Blue Dream was excellent! Good quality on the dishes, definitely worth to explore the menu for a nice dinner and breakfast as well. I would recommend stay here if you are planning to explore the area.

This is just what you need for a kiteboarding trip - friendly, relaxed and happy staff and instructors excellent food and clean comfortable rooms plus close to an awesome beach for kiteboarding. All this and happy guests make for a great experience that attracts guests from all over to come to Bahia Salinas

This hotel was amazing the views were stunning, walkable to the beach, public bus at the doorstep we woke up to parrots, howlers, and waves Nicola was very friendly and accessible .the food was excellent cooked by an amazing Italian chef although the food and drink here as well as at the only other restaurant around will cost you more than other places but the views are worth it !

Súper bueno todo, al ser de una familia se siente muy seguro, las habitaciones muy limpias y las camas y almohadas huelen rico, el restaurante es pequeño pero la comida deliciosa y los precios muy razonables, tiene una vista preciosa y una señora llamada Maria que hace unos masajes deliciosos… lo recomiendo mil veces.
