There was no A/C in the room, and even though the heater was off inside, the heater in the 4th-floor corridor was on, making the room extremely hot. We had to open the windows and move the bed closer to get some fresh air. The heat made it difficult to sleep. The shower only had hot water—no cold option—and there was no fridge to keep drinks cool, so we had to put them outside the window. It was just hot, hot, hot everywhere! Other than that, everything else was nice. We stayed for a week, and parking was easy. Not every day was a buffet—some days there was a buffet, and other days meals were served from a menu. The food at the bar and restaurant was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally friendly.

We stayed at the Bracken while visiting Ireland for the Steelers football game. The hotel was located close enough to Dublin, yet it was quiet and away from the business of the city. Thomas, our server one night for dinner, went above and beyond to make our dinner special! The room was spacious and cozy, the bed was comfy, and breakfast was delicious.

The hotel was ok, nice to have free parking!
Our room was old and tired. Needs some refurbishing, walls are dirty, and the furniture is scuffed and really dated. The room was also hot and stuffy, even with the window open. The view was not good either, with basically a burned out building.
So based on this trip most of the rooms booked through Expedia seem to have zero views!

Location is excellent, rooms are clean and spacious. However the rooms are very tired, worn and dated. Front desk experience is very dependent on who you speak to. First encounter was acceptable at best as she just went through the motions with zero welcoming. Later, a younger gentleman was very helpful and friendly.

20 min drive from Dublin Airport. Excellent location. Hyper comfortable bed, spacious bright room with two windows in different directions. Plenty of coffee, tea and shower gels etc. Strong WiFi and free! Free underground parking! All good! No complaints.

We booked the Bracken Court Hotel for 6 nights for our family (we have 2 small children) in July 2025. However, after 2 nights stay, we had to request an early check out since there was no air conditioning in the room and there was no ventilation in the room other than the windows, which does not help much (the area was enclosed so no wind was not actually coming into the room). We requested a fan from the hotel, but were informed that there were no more available fans. Since our children were finding it very difficult to sleep in the nights due to the heat, we had to check in to another hotel for the reminder of our stay in Ireland (4 nights) and requested a refund from Bracken Court Hotel for the remainder of the time, but we were denied a refund and no further assistance.

We got a beautiful suite here and it was absolutely fabulous. The bar staff were super friendly. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff there were friendly too. Parking was underground so we initially missed it as it was dark and raining as we approached. A quick phone call to the front desk put us on the right track! We would definitely stay here again.

This was one of our favorite lodging experiences on a 17-day trip to Ireland and Scotland. The hotel is a lovely historic property in a lovely town convenient to Dublin. Our rooms were clean and updated. Although the food at the hotel restaurant is quite good (better than typical, in my experience), we were particularly pleased to \"discover\" Dempsey's, a traditional, local pub just up the street.

Do yourself a favor and spend a day (or half day) in the nearby (10 minutes drive) coastal town of Skerries. It was recommended to us by a local as a more convenient alternative to Dun Laoghaire south of Dublin. Skerries didn't disappoint. It's a wonderful town!

Overall, we were extremely pleased both with the Bracken Court Hotel, and with Balbriggan and the surrounding area!

Driving through the Main Street towards the hotel and it had a lot of abandoned properties. We were quite worried about he rooms as the hotel itself looked very old and in a bad area of town. We were able to walk to the beach but the side road was closed for construction. Not a great beach anyways. Nothing to do in the area either. Room was VERY spacious and nice but no wifi signal in our room 210. Great signal in dining room and bar. Good free breakfast options. Free parking.

We stayed here for 1 night. Check-in was very easy, staff were very friendly. Car parking was available on sight to the right of the door. The room however was dated, there were cracks in the bathroom tiling and hair was present in the bath/shower from previous guests. They did however offer a good range of amenities. The hairdryer was broken in the room and dated.

The bed however was very comfy though we were woken up around 3 in the morning by a scratching noise which we originally thought was someone trying to get into the room. The noise eventually stopped but happened again around 8.30 the next morning numerous times so we thought it may be a rodent of some kind though there was no evidence of this in the room

We had originally booked this hotel for two nights. When we got to our room all we could smell was cigarette smoke.

We went to the front desk and asked if they had another room available as I am asthmatic but they could not provide us with another room. I was very worried staying there for the one night due to my breathing but had no choice as there was no other vacancies around.

Due to it being a health situation we were able to book another hotel for the second night.

We spoke to Maria at the desk to get a refund for the second night and had a representative from Expedia speak with Maria confirming that they would refund us.

Looks like Maria was deceiving us as we received an update from Expedia saying the hotel would not refund us.

This was a health concern this hotel is clearly not rated right as I always check the rating prior to booking due to health concerns. I would rate this hotel and their staff at a 2.

We were very disappointed in Maria, the hotel and Expedia.
