You'll be extremely lucky if you can park at the facility. If not, you have to park about a block away.
Ordering food/drinks in the bar/restaurant has to be done from a QR code on the table. Menu is limited and you're virtually invisible to the staff while sitting at your table

“Near the airport” isn’t usually an indication of a good area, but Swords was recommended to me as a place to stay before flying out, by a Dubliner I met while touring the rest of the country. Food, beverage and lodging prices were actually lower in Swords than any of the places I visited in rural western Ireland, though the people were more urban in their conduct. My room had a cathedral ceiling and a fireplace, plus both a bathtub and a shower, and I could park right in front, off-street.

There is no actual \"front desk\" to check in at. The bar/restaurant handles that. The staff was very helpful during check un and during our one night stay. 10-15 minutes away from airport. Restaurant food was mediocre in quality. Prices for beer/wine and mixed drinks were very inexpensive, the lowest I have seen anywhere. Room was no frills but comfortable. If you need a place for a night or two arriving/leaving Dublin airport this will do it. Parking is limited.

This hotel does not have a reception, you check in at the bar. We arrived to find out that the bar and restaurant were closed due to a plumbing problem. This was an annoyance since we had planned to just eat dinner there and get an early night before our flight home. Instead we had to go out and find somewhere to eat. The room did not have a window, just a skylight, but seemed clean and functional. We left early to head to the airport so no idea if breakfast was available. I would not choose this property again.

Really good spot to stay in the Swords area. The room was very well appointed and more roomy than some hotels we experienced in Ireland. Really nice bathroom and comfy beds. Very clean and the staff were very helpful — the manager even showed us to our room. No real lobby area in the hotel (check in is at the end of the bar downstairs) and minimal parking onsite, but we didn’t care about that. Area around the hotel is walkable and full of great shops and restaurants. There is even a castle just down the street! The Old Borough is not the Savoy, but it is not pretending to be either. It is a very good hotel and an excellent value. Would definitely stay there again.

Parking is advertised as available but they only have 6-8 spots. The manager explained it's not \"guaranteed\". We had to park in a municipal lot nearby.

Our room had no windows!! It had a skylight, but that just doesn't feel the same. It was rather unnerving. I'm just glad I am not claustrophobic.

Location is very convenient to shops and restaurants. The rooms are above a pub, but I did not have any issues with noise from the pub. I
did hear noise from a nearby room, and I don’t think the occupants were being particularly loud.

Parking was difficult - the lot is extremely small, and I ended up parking on the street in a pay to
park area. Parking on the street is free after 6 pm and before 8 am, which happened to work with my arrival and departure times. Probably your best bet is the parking on Foster Street a few blocks away.

My main complaint with the room was that it did not have a window, though there was a skylight with an electronic shade. Overall it was a comfortable stay at a decent price for the location, but a small room with no window may feel claustrophobic for some guests.

The parking was very tight but free for guests. I was a bit worried when I saw the bar downstairs but the rooms were lovely and quiet. The location was handy to the airport and an easy walk to the castle and shops. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was clean and hot. We bought breakfast which was a very good deal. I would stay here again.

The room was great. It was roomy and had a lot of character. It was fairly quick and fun to check in with the bartender instead of waiting on a clerk in a stale reception area. Everyone we encountered was friendly and efficient.
The only bad thing was the bedding. The room was slightly chilly, the way we like it, but there was only a comforter. It was fabulous, but after a while it got too warm and with not even a sheet, we were hot and cold all night.
The area's numerous shops were busting with activity, and Swords Castle, a little gem in various stages of reconstruction, was just a few blocks away. There was a shockingly large shopping mall relatively camouflaged in the neighborhood just across the street.
It was super quick to get to the pub from the airport and the taxi ride was cheap and friendly.
Know that there are just a couple places where you have to traverse a couple stair treads with your luggage. We were traveling light, so it was no big deal.
The old lift to get our bags up to the room was a hoot, the inviting stairs were quick and scenic overlooking the beer garden, the food and the ale were delicious and inexpensive, and overall it was a great place to stay on our layover to Rome!

This was an unusual experience - neither good nor bad. The hotel was quite close to the airport which is why we chose it (early morning departure). There are plenty of restaurants and other businesses around, and a very busy pub at the hotel itself. Our check in was done quickly and professionally. Our room was an accessible unit and had a tiny sink. Since our stay was over a Saturday night, there was noise from a nightclub for a few hours in the middle of the night. Nothing that a pair of earplugs couldn't handle. Free parking was a bonus. We did not eat at the pub - the food did not look appetizing and to be truthful the clientele could have been lifted from an episode of \"Absolutely Fabulous.\"

It took a while to find the check-in. It turned out to be the bar. We left our bags there and came back later. The room had an odor and the wifi was down. Some nice staff gave us a new room which was fine. When I asked the manager the next morning to put \"WIFI was down\" on my receipt so I could apply for credits from Expedia, they were clearly not impressed with the request. We stayed in some sweet hotels in Dublin. This wasn't one of them.

Parking was very difficult, first of all there was no check-in counter, we checked in in the bar. Was directed to park our car in the front of the parking lot and it was free. Circled around for over a half an hour could not find access to the front of the building. Finally called again and was told the parking lot that we had originally been in was where we were supposed to park and we would be given a voucher for parking. This was extremely confusing, a very small parking lot, and very difficult to maneuver vehicle within the parking lot

It was a hotel on top of a pub. Not fancy, but comfortable. Order everything from the bar including food, drinks, and hotel room. Not much parking and a little hard to find, but we felt secure, had a good dinner, and enjoyed the pub atmosphere.

The hotel reception is odd. You walk into the main floor bar and the ‘reception’ is a small office at the end of the bar. The elevator is the weirdest one I’ve ever seen. I rode it once, and thought I was stuck until I figured out how to open the door. Some instructions would have been useful. I didn’t ride it a 2nd time.
Nice basic restaurant and bar on the main level. One of the few places I visited that provided ‘normal’ sized meals instead of ludicrously oversized sandwiches like many places serve.
The breakfast options were limited. I usually just have a pastry or brown bread and coffee or tea, but no pastries, scones, or breads were available.

We felt like check in and dinner was very impersonal at Old Borough. When you check in it’s confusing that YOU need to track a staff member down. I ended up at the bar to check in. The young lady that checked me in was very nice and as helpful and she could be. We felt like we had the same experience when having dinner. You order with a QR code and have very little interaction with staff. The bar/restaurant was pretty busy, which we were there on a Friday night. Parking is a nightmare. There are very few parking spots - maybe 10 at best for the bar/restaurant and hotel. We were told to either park in a spot blocking someone in and move our car later that evening (when it thinned out) or park somewhere else. All in all the hotel was nice and clean. Staff were great.

I booked this property for it's location as it was a 10 minute drive to the car return at the airport and I did not want to stay at a generic hotel chain for our last night in Ireland as that makes me feel that my vacation has ended a day early. This hotel provided a lot of local flavor as I did not realize the whole first floor is a local pub! It's huge and does not play music as its clear everyone there is here to talk to each other. The food is like local diner or pub food and is inexpensive. The drinks are also a deal. The hotel \"reception\" is a closet at the end of the bar. The parking in front is extremely tight and fits all of 8 cars. The bed was a bit on the small size as were the rooms but we did get another day of Ireland vacation in so I met my objective in booking here. Its within walking distance to the Old School House restaurant where we went for dinner and across the street from a mall so it was a good location which was important to me.

Room was nice, comfortable bed. The hotel is above a pub, while there is good sound proofing when people leave the pub at midnight they hung around for awhile after this making noise. Also it seems that there was some movement with the kegs at this time.
Something to be mindful of, despite booking with a confirmed pay at the hotel local currency agreement via Expedia, I was charged in my currency prior to my arrival. This was inconvenient to me as I had money reserved in euros on a different card. I called the hotel initially and they advised this was a mistake and they could refund this on arrival, and I could pay at the hotel. When I arrived the woman was quite rude and advised they have started charging guests before they arrive as people were not showing up, and nothing could be done.

Stayed one night before our flight. I was a little surprised at how busy the area was its in the heart of the town, or at least felt like it. Parking is very limited. The room was clean and spacious. Definitely not as luxurious looking as the pictures. Beds were comfortable. You have to take your luggage up the stairs or you can go through the restaurant to take the wheelchair lift (unless there another elevator somewhere?) Walking distance to shopping/restaurants and felt safe. Staff was friendly and helpful and drinks/food were reasonably priced. no mini fridge in room which would have been nice.

I chose The Old Borough by Wetherspoon because it’s close to the airport (10 minutes), but it didn’t meet my expectations. Getting into Dublin was inconvenient—40 minutes each way and $30–$40 per ride. The property itself felt outdated and crowded, more of a local bar scene than a comfortable hotel environment.

The room had no windows, only a skylight connected to a loud AC system, making it dark and difficult to ventilate. The television wasn’t a smart TV, so streaming wasn’t an option. I also found there wasn’t a comfortable lounge area to relax before an early morning flight.

On a positive note, two of the check-in staff were very kind, especially one gentleman in the evening. Still, overall, I was disappointed and wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

Picked this place because of proximity to the airport. Last night in Ireland. Arrived around 4 pm. They had our room ready and even had the right request of handicap accessible room. Was a little worried based on previous reviews. Check in and out at the bar was easy. Close to shopping, the castle and other quick activities. Did eat here for dinner. Food was good and reasonable. Does seem to be a local hangout, probably of the good value on drinks and food. We got lucky with parking. Parking is free for hotel guests but first come first serve. Only about 8-10 spots. If you snag one keep it. The air conditioning was the best of all the hotels on our trip. If that is important to you then it was the best. Would stay again in the same circumstances.

Stayed one night before flying home and it was okay but I would not stay again. The pub food and drinks were excellent and the prices for food very reasonable. Parking is almost non-existent and it is on a busy street. If we had not grabbed the last parking spot in front of the hotel my rating would be lower. Dragging suitcases through the pub to the tiny elevator not fun. Room was so small. No window just a skylight that opened. I would eat here again no problem but not stay.

What a pleasant surprise to stay at this property. Staff was friendly. Our room was very nice and also spacious. Parking was great right in front of the hotel. They had a nice pub inside with great prices and selection. We were also pleased with the close proximity to the airport for our flight the next day. I would definitely stay here again.
