The room and entire hotel were clean and beautiful! The staff was absolutely superb. We ate some appetizers the night we arrived and coffee with scones the next morning. Honestly, due the the amazing staff we stayed on property for breakfast/scones and coffee as opposed to going out for it. 10/10 would stay again and HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The hotel is impressive. It's fun to stay in a castle.The breakfast buffet is extensive and the dining area is beautiful. The hotel has its own parking lot and you will need a car to get around this area. There isn't easy access to public transportation.With a car, it's just a 10-15 minute drive to Dublin City Center, Howth, or the Airport. I recommend visiting Howth, if you have time. It is a village on the coast with a beautiful cliff walk and several pubs, restaurants, markets and boutiques.

Perfect, quiet stay right on the outskirts of the busy Dublin city center. Great way to end my trip in Ireland and return home through DUB, airport which was just a 15-20 min car ride away and cost 33 euros by taxi. Great dining options, fresh breakfast, and room service throughout the day. Highly recommend.

Clean room, attentive staff, great food and service at restaurants. The castle itself was amazing, great artwork and history. The location is about 3 miles outside of Dublin center circle. Which is not far but due to Dublins layout plan on 30 minute commute to get to popular pubs, shopping and cathedrals. As long as you allow for travel time you won’t miss anything. We definitely be coming back. Don’t delay and plan your trip today. We did 10 holidays this year and this was definitely one of the best!

Although staff said they’d “try their best,” when we arrived at 1:20pm the room still wasn’t ready, and it felt like no consideration had been given to our request. We ended up having to get ready in the guest toilets before the wedding. Very disappointing service. The room was nice and clean.

Always get the breakfast buffet. It’s a massive, grand spread, and we regret even trying room service and skipping it the first day.

The reservation was for a double room, what we received were two double beds, each with their own duvet pushed together but with a degree of freedom between them that any little movement created a space between the beds.
If I had wanted a room with two single beds, I would have booked that. I booked a double bed, my booking atated I was to be provided with a double bed room but that was not the case upon accessing the room. If yoiu are not goping to provide what was booked, I should have been informed of this.

A wonderful place to stay with a rich history. The room was comfortable and clean. For a historic building , we were pleased by the very modern amenities with a large, updated walk in shower and international electrical outlets.

It is very easy and quick to take the bus to the center of Dublin where most tourist sites are within walking distance.

Located in a beautiful neighbourhood and close to the sea.

When I arrived the electricity was going in and out so they were working off of generators and the lifts were down. My room was on the 3rd floor so I wasn’t going to carry suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. I left my bags at the front desk and they said they would bring them up when the lift was working. I just arrived after a 12 hour flight and just wanted to relax but all of my stuff was at the front desk. I waited almost 2 hours and finally went down to check and the lift was working so I brought up my bags.

The room was nice with a comfortable bed.

I chose the Clontarf Castle because it was on our bucket list to stay in a castle. It is a beautiful, clean, updated hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. It is located in the suburbs so it was inconvenient and expensive to taxi to/from Dublin to sightsee and meet up with our tour but it is a much nicer place to stay than the hotels I saw in Dublin City.

Very expensive hotel and we had a nasty surprise. There was wedding in the hotel and we were not informed when we arrived. After returning from dinner at 10:30 pm we went to bed and the noise from the music at the wedding was atrocious. We could not sleep. When my wife complained we were offered free breakfast the next day!!!

We very much enjoyed our one-night stay. It was too windy and rainy to check out the property but the inside ambiance was warm and cozy. We found our room very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the Knight's Bar was just okay and service was a bit slow. Expected a bit more in that area for the money. Was very happy with the in-room breakfast we got before leaving. It arrived in time, was good value and tasted great.

The staff were fantastic. We arrived early at 9:30am and weren’t scheduled to check in until 3:00pm. The front desk suggested we get breakfast first and once we were finished, they were able to have our room ready at 11:00am. This allowed for a quick nap before our Dublin adventure. The room was clean, quiet and the hotel was far enough away from the heart of Dublin but an easy 10 min taxi ride to city center. Would recommend and would stay again.

The clontarf Castle hotel is a beautiful property. It was fun to walk around and see all of the little seating areas and nooks to have a drink in. All staff was very nice and helpful. There were two small downsides to staying here. The first one was that we were placed in a room with a door that combines to another room. We were able to hear our neighbor's conversations through the door. We also opted out on having dinner in the castle because there was a strange smell (almost that of canned cat food) coming from the kitchens that was very unappealing. Other than this we had a beautiful night. The hotel is beautifully decorated and it was nice to sit in the lobby by the fireplace enjoying a cocktail.

Castle \"themed\" hotel

Nice big chunk of castle has had a more regular hotel built around it, with a castle theme. Some castle rooms used for the bar and breakfast dining rooms, which are great. But not the guest rooms. We didn't *feel* like we were staying in an actual castle, which was a bit disappointing. Also had a rude experience at Wednesday's breakfast with the short shaven head concierge man pushing our bill at us at our table while we were still eating, and then coming to collect payment while we were still drinking our coffee. The other mornings had a different concierge at breakfast, a quite tall gentleman who was nothing but polite, friendly and professional regardless of how busy it got, and was happy to issue the bill and collect payment on our request when we were completely finished.

We enjoyed our stay here. The castle is quaint with nice period touches. Staff were more businesslike than friendly but that did not affect our stay. Our room was mostly clean but the bathroom could have been cleaner. There were a few long black hairs on the floor & they had not emptied the trashcan under the sink.
