This is a beautiful hotel and the best place to stay if attending the Aviva stadium. A great variation of dining options from bar food to á la carte - reasonably priced too. It laid on special additional services for the 6 Nations Rugby, BBQ, buffet, outside beer tent, and an outstanding male choir on match day. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped. On site parking is an absolute bonus when staying central. With the Dart stop on its doorstep and the beautiful \"village\" of Sandymount a short walk, the Sandymount Hotel is an excellent base for exploring the whole city.

A lovely, comfortable stay away from the bustle of the city centre. Staff here warm and inviting and couldn’t be more accommodating. Bed and furnishings extremely comfortable and I was delighted to have a bathtub in the bathroom! - it’s sadly becoming a rare treat in hotels today

I absolutely love this hotel. You can immediately tell that it is a family run business as it just smacks of traditional hospitality. This is not your cookie cutter corporate hotel. Everything stands out!!!!!! From the warm welcome at check in, the friendly atmosphere and staff, clean and spacious rooms, the great food and drink, ideal location for the city centre or walks along Dublin Bay to the fond farewell at check out. I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The locals are very friendly. The hotel is very well run and I will stay there many more times to come.

The hotel is beautiful and the neighborhood is really lovely. I traveled to this area specifically for a workshop, and really enjoyed my walks to and from the venue. The food at the restaurant was amazing, and really appreciated the complimentary water bottles.

All this said, I was disappointed by the size of the room I had, especially for how expensive the stay was. I barely had space to open up my suitcase and move around comfortably. Staff was also not very welcoming when I first checked in, and no one offered to help with my very heavy bags that I had to drag up and down stairs + a long distance from the elevator to my room.

A decent stay. The staff at the restaurant were not very attentive—I had three different waiters who missed my starter at dinner, and I had to ask several times for coffee at breakfast. Unfortunately, my room was right by a set of stairs, so I could hear people coming and going all night. When I mentioned this to the front desk at checkout, the staff asked if I had told anyone. I said no, as it was okay since I was only staying two nights. I figured moving to a new room would be more of a hassle. She brushed it off. Later, when I asked them to hold my items while I went out, the entire staff was giggling about something. I have no idea whether it was because of me or something that happened before I arrived, but it was incredibly strange.

There isn’t much around the hotel except the stadium. You need to walk about 10 minutes or take the train to get to most places.

The hotel itself was fine, but I don’t think it’s worth the money due to its location and lack of service.

The flooring in the corridors were uneven, and had many steps to my room, steps to enter the room and inside the room steps to bathroom too. High risk of tripping and falling, a Health & Safety issue.
There was no in-room fridge or bar for guests to place medications. The toilet was set so close to the side of the bath (4cm away) you hit the bath when trying to sit. The lift A to carpark broke down when trying to check out. Had to carry bags down a flight of stairs. The room had NO Ventilation system. Windows were locked. No air vents, no air condition. It was stifling hot trying to sleep at night. Had to sleep on top of the duvet. Hair dryer was hidden and permanently attached inside the drawer. There was no luggage rack. Had to use the glass tables for bags.
The main good thing with the hotel is the availability of parking within the premises.

Convenient location for the town and ferry port

Our room, number 255, and bathroom were clean, the decor was fresh, just let down by the basin stand which was delaminating at the base. Unfortunately the soundproofing was inadequate and we were awoken by loud banging noises at 6am from the room above. This went on for an hour. It sounded like a herd of elephants. Otherwise all good. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was superb.

The staff were all kind and helpful. The property is pretty inside. It is not in city center but right near the Aviva sports complex. About a 5 minute walk to the Dart (tram). Only complaint is that our view was the parking lot.

The property was VERY clean, with new bathroom and was very quiet. Staff were polite and attentive. The one negative is that check-in is one or two floors up from where you arrive making baggage awkward and inconvenient. There is a lift but it is WAAAAY down a long narrow hall and around the corner.

Our stay at this hotel was beyond our expectations. Special thanks to Alex for going above and beyond to help us with a late-night booking, and to Eider for making our late-night check-in so pleasant. Marcio was also incredibly helpful and attentive during our stay, which made everything even smoother. Every staff member we interacted with was amazing—from housekeeping and cleaning to the breakfast team (especially Jing) and those working on September 9th.

I would highly recommend this place to families, as the staff were incredibly kind and attentive with my toddler. A special mention also to Elsa, who was such a pleasure to talk to and made us feel genuinely welcome.

The room was clean, modern and spacious, and we enjoyed an excellent evening meal at the hotel.
The big bonus for us was the EV charging which few central Dublin hotels offer.
Finding our way around the hotel was fun...it's a warren of corridors which all look similar!

we had a great time staying here. my children and i enjoyed our daily breakfast. easy way to get to the city centre, great dinning space and flexible with our early arrival. we had a wonderful dinning and chatting with the staff. rafael is a 5 stars staff, super nice, friendly that made my family felt safe and very welcomed. my children and i already decided to go back to dublin and stay in this hotel again because we had a great experience and time with the surroundings. thank you sandymount hotel!

The hotel is very nice! The rooms are a good size and the cleaning staff do an excellent job of taking care of your needs. We loved how close it was to Aviva stadium as we traveled from the USA for an event at the stadium. The Sandymount area is walkable and safe! We enjoyed cocktails in the bar and a delicious meal in the restaurant. There are so many cute nooks and sitting areas to be able to relax and talk with your travel crew without having to hang out in your room. The place is a 10 out of 10.

This hotel in the suburbs of Dublin offered a warm, cozy atmosphere with a genuine, family-oriented level of hospitality. My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed our stay and especially appreciated how friendly and accommodating the staff were — the service was outstanding. We also highly recommend trying the attached restaurant if you have the time, as it added even more to the experience. Overall, the hospitality and comfort made for a memorable stay, and we would gladly return.

This is THE best run hotel in Dublin. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is excellent and the service is exemplary.
The hotel is situated within a 15-20 minute walk from the centre. Buses and the Dart are close by. Sandymount itself is lovely and the locals are friendly and accommodating. It’s a 10 minute walk to Dublin Bay and wonderful walks along the beach.
Can’t rave enough about this place!!!!!!!

We spent two nights at The Sandymount. It is right beside Aviva if you are attending a match, but the rest of the area is mainly residential (not much for restaurants or shopping near by). It is a quiet area. The room and beds were comfortable and the shower was nice, though there is no a/c. The staff at the front desk, the bar and restaurant were all very good. The breakfast buffet was also very good, and we had a tasty supper in the bar.

Great hotel in a good location for concerts. Easy to get from the hotel into the city centre, and the surrounding around felt safe, with great food options. Staff at the hotel were very helpful in suggesting somewhere to grab brunch when we arrived. Hotel was modern and the breakfast was delicious! Can be noisy in the rooms, and the bedroom was very warm even with the window having been open all day. However overall a great hotel and would definitely stay here again

Everything was well done and our stay went well, but the condition of the hotel left a bit to be desired. The hallways were a little shabby and the noise levels were awful. You could hear everything. The rooms were nice though, and the cleaning crew were extremely courteous.

Room was very warm- there was a fan in the room but AC would have been more appropriate.
A walk in shower would have been easier to use.Grab rail next to bath was loose.
Generous amount of tea and coffee.
Friendly staff on reception and at breakfast.
I thought breakfast was included with the twin room as it wasn't offered as an extra.We had to pay at the hotel.On the website you can book breakfast for other rooms as an extra and its cheaper than paying the hotel.

The property itself was beautiful, & the restaurant was delicious! Staff were friendly & room was spacious! While the area was quiet & restful, many reviews made out that the hotel was convenient to access the city. Unless you have a car, or are willing to spend 30 minutes on transit, with transfers, I wouldn’t say it was convenient to access the city. Similarly, it is not a convenient hotel when it comes to getting to the airport, unless you have a car. There are definitely places to stay that provide easier access to the city/airport, but if you have the time/money to spend making the journey, it’s a beautiful spot!

Stayed here the night of a Dua Lipa concert at the aviva stadium in June 2025

Cannot fault the proximity to the stadium, our seats were on the same side as hotel (coincidence! Green entry area block 315) and the journey leaving the stadium to being in our room was 9 minutes. Stunned!

The hotel put on a BBQ and DJ on day of event too which was great. €8 pints and €10 burgers, prices were a little steep but convenient vs getting food in the stadium.

Only concern I would flag is if you are travelling by car. Lots of nearby road closures to be mindful of if driving, even the hotels road was closed but the Gardaí were manning the blocks and opened entry for us to get in.
There are not many parking spaces!!! We arrived around 30 minutes before check-in time and there were only 3 spaces left.

Ideal for concerts or matches in the aviva. Older hotel no AC or fans in rooms.. rang 3 times for fan got it over 2 hours later..maybe fans should automatically be placed in rooms over summer months. alot of restrictions in place within hotel due to concerts..no room service, no food in bar only in restaurant which was a pity as they would have made a fortune..
