we had a great stay in this hotel, the food service at their restaurant is just superb!!!! their staff is amazing and so kind, we were there for our wedding day in the civil registry and their food staff treated us like royalty, they were so happy for us and we can't thank them enough, thank you House Dublin hotel and restaurant for your amazing hospitality and tremendous service.

This cannot be a real hotel. The person who checked us in gave us room keys and that was all. No information on where anything was located. The room was dingy and there were stains on the walls and carpet. When I turned the shower on, there was no hot water. Tried to call from the room phone and it didn’t work. Tried to call the phone number on their website and it was automated with no ability to reach anyone at the hotel or even leave a message. We had to go downstairs to ask for assistance that never came, three times! Finally Ben, one of the managers came to check the hot water and confirmed it didn’t work. He said they were fully booked and he would find us another room at a different hotel. He promised I would be refunded and the room at the other hotel would be paid for. After getting my own Uber to the other hotel, they told me Ben had not paid for the room. There was no way to reach house Dublin by phone. My room at House Dublin was not refunded and Ben booked me a room that was almost $300. I’ve never had such a terrible experience.

This is above a bar so it is noisy on a Friday or Saturday until 2:30am. We were so tired it didn’t bother us (light sleepers beware). Parking (Q park) is 1km away and a bit concerning on early am or later pm. Room is very small. Location is okay but a bit of a walk to Grafton street.

The decor of the place is beautiful, but the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. In booking my stay, I selected to include breakfast, but the breakfast was a croissant. Better than nothing, but not what I've experienced from other hotels at the same price point.
The location is great, easy to get around, and most of the staff I interacted with were lovely.
The place is just better to look at rather than to stay.

This place seems to be mostly a restaurant/bar/night club with a hotel as an after thought. The staff was very friendly but there was rarely a “hotel” employee to be found, you had to ask the restaurant staff for help. The AC made a loud sound all night, which they sort of fixed the second night but it was just a quieter noise. The lift was broken almost the entire time we were there, they said they would help us with own bags and then never brought them up, we had to go back down and bring them up ourselves. The hotel is very old, and it shows, the room was not as maintained as I would’ve liked. Parking is also not included and it’s about 29 euros/night in the lot. The location is nice, and I thought the restaurant was very cool, but overall I would not personally recommend this hotel.

Both the room and the building itself were delightful! We stayed on a Sunday night, which means the night club downstairs was closed. It had a nice, large, and clean modern bathroom with lots of space. The TV was perfect although the WiFi was not working well on our personal devices on floor 4. The elevator is also very tiny but we found that to be more charming than inconveniencing. Parking was kind of a hassle, the closest place to park was on the street around the corner and you are only able to pay for 3 hours at a time, costing 12 euro each. That sucked, but the hotel and surrounding area were super quaint and unique.

There is a wonderful but loud bar and restaurant on the first floor with amazing staff. Loud nights for us as we were in the room above the bar and beside the server break room, when we mentioned it to the breakfast server they comped our meal which was greatly appreciated.

When booking the hotel room online, the pictures made it look like a normal-sized room. When we got there, it was tiny. We didnt even really have room to walk around the beds or to get into the bathroom. There was barely space for our luggage. The pictures online were just very deceptive.

Everything was clean, and all the staff was very polite and helpful though.

Noise concerns and a late bar

When booking this hotel on Hotels.com I was unaware that the bedrooms are above a nightclub and busy pub. I became aware of this on receipt of a welcome letter advising me of the noise issue and a bar opened until \"late\". I was unable to cancel my booking at that stage and requested a quite room with no response from House.
The welcome letter referred to the bar opened till late ..Late is a subjective term and does not appear on the clock!
I called the hotel on a number of occasions during the weekend to asertain the meaning of late but could not get an answer, finally resorting to a voicemail on Sunday. I finally got an email Tuesday(the day I was due to book in)at 11.30 am giving the closing time of the bar. I had by then booked another hotel where I could be assured of a nighfs sleep and took the loss of my booking of House.

The property itself was fine if not in a slight state of disrepair, loose shower head fixtures, curtains that couldn’t close all the way (letting in a lot of light) and basic room facilities. However, it cannot be understated how noisy the room was on Friday and Saturday night. Even with earplugs it was unbearably loud, the room was shaking from the bass, music and club patrons were clearly audible and flashing lights from the club were coming through the window until 3:30am. Staff were basically nonexistent. Don’t bother staying here for a Friday or Saturday night.

Very noisy hotel

The room was nice and large, comfy bed. The phone was broken. Nice bar and restaurant downstairs.
Very very load club downstairs even when using the ear plugs. If you want good nights sleep it might be better to look elsewhere. Overall it was ok.

Don’t expect to sleep

I was put in a room on the 1st Floor, directly above the restaurant/bar (party room) and was greeted by some ear plugs on the bedside table.
Was woken at 12:30 by the fire alarm going off - got dressed to investigate, but no staff about and the party downstairs was in full swing - must be false alarm idk - the music was so loud that the bed was literally shaking. A colleague stayed on the 4th floor and had the same experience. No sleep

I loved the charm of this hotel, the room, and the restaurant. It delivered the vibe I hoped for. I appreciated the manager’s communication when a large group reserved the restaurant - he was very accommodating and made sure guests were still taken care of.

There were some downsides that almost outweighed the good. Each day, my key card stopped working after housekeeping came, and I had to go back down to reception to get it reset each time (kept it in a separate pocket, away from other cards and my phone). The twin beds that made up the king had a very noticeable gap that I haven’t felt as much with the same configuration.

My husband and I were only in Dublin for the night, but this property is a must see! Wether you're staying for the night or looking for a place to have drinks, you need to try this place! The rooms are lovely and the drinks are to die for! The bartenders here really know what they are doing. My husband is already planning on when we can go back!

Margaret was lovely! She helped us to stow our belongings when we arrived after a very early morning flight. The hotel is so beautifully and lovingly decorated. Plenty of cozy nooks to enjoy a cocktail or warm beverage. Very convenient to all the shops along Grafton Street.

I would love to give House Dublin a glowing review as it is truly a great place in a terrific part of Dublin. However, unbeknownst to us on Friday and Saturday nights it turns into one of Central Dublin’s most raucous night spots blasting music until 3am. When we arrived there were earplugs on our nightstands and when I asked why was cautioned about what was to come! I use hearing aids and without them to sleep, earplugs in and a bath towel over my head was still sleep deprived! I would recommend this highly Sunday through Thursday but stay away on weekends. With only 16 rooms I question why they would rent these to guests other than those there to party as the Club was packed!

There noise and then there’s noise. They warn you about the late night music but the constant banging of doors, street noise due to insufficient sound proofing and the accidental fire alarm activations (2 of) were just too much. Really doubt if the bar stays open til 4am so the last couple of hours must just have been the staff having a good time while cleaning up. On top of this the room was freezing and the electric heater wasn’t big enough to heat it and the shower cubicle has to be seen to be believed. It was so small that I’m sure the receptionists have to allocate rooms based on their very quick assessment of your BMI - even a moderately overweight person could not be allocated the room I was given due to the tiny size of the shower. This place is a bad joke. You’d be better off sleeping in your car.

If you’re a night owl, you’ll be fine

The hotel itself was very nice, a bit small but enough for one night. The noise is rough though, and cannot downplay. They warn you in the booking so really I only have myself to blame, but it’s like DJ music which with pulsating can be exhausting. But otherwise a good place, if you like DJ music or plan to be out very late then this place will be fine for you.

Our two night stay at House Dublin Hotel was fabulous! The hotel manager, Margaret was the BEST! She welcomed us when we arrived early, kept our bags for us and got us into our rooms as soon as they were available. She had a wealth of information about Dublin & the entire island with many recommendations. She remembered our names and always had a smile and a greeting. The restaurant staff was also friendly and accommodating. The elevator is small—two persons) The rooms are old, but charming and clean. The restroom/showers have been modernized and were spotless. Location was near a lovely park and, although many city center sites were a bit away, we walked everywhere. We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay, we received a warm welcome and the room was clean with a great coffee machine.

Although the bathroom and bedroom were very clean, some aspects were a little tired. This didn’t affect our stay and we had a wonderful breakfast included in the price. We’d come back again just for that!

Yes, there is loud music on the ground floor going into the early hours of the morning but the earplugs provided worked wonders!

I like that staff is present and happy to help. I was a solo traveler for three days. They help me navigate what I should do for the time that I stayed. They told me the best restaurants. When I went out, I let them know, and they were happy when I return safely. the hotel is like six blocks away from the bus stop from the airport for like $15. And the hotel is five blocks away from the hop on hop off tour guide bus. The hotel is in a perfect spot. I will be back.

It’s a pretty good location, everything within walking distance.
Although we are aware of all the things others and the hotels mentioned. But it’s still kind of hard to get over with it.

Goods: Location wise, perfect. Price, very good for this location. Staff is super friendly.

The not so goods: 4th floor’s water pressure is “really” small (not sure about the other rooms’). Noise, because of the clubs. Thank goodness it’s only till 3:00.

Something could be better is if they will reply back to the message that we sent, but other than that everything is pretty much a good place to stay.

Reasonable charge considering location and standard.
Warm cosy rooms and atmosphere throughout. Additional treats eg coffee machine and quality bath products in each room.
Really lovely staff which adds to the ambiance.

Close to all amenities that one would require in a city break.

Walk in St Stephens Green and browse in Grafton Street. Close and walking distance to to alternative bars,coffee restaurants and nightlife and must see attractions.

40 minutes drive to Wicklow hills/hikes. 10 minutes to beach walk at sandy mount.

The room was quite cold upon initial entry. Someone had tampered with the controls so it took a few tries to get the heater to work. Once that was sorted the room heated up pretty well. Do not stay here. By all means, go for a drink or dinner in their beautiful restaurant and bar area, but do NOT, I repeat, do NOT stay here overnight. The hotel rooms are cramped and the walls are thin. The nightclub plays loud music until 3 am (including terrible karaoke where guests sound like wounded animals). It would not stop and we could not sleep until well after 3:00 a m at which time the bar emptied out and everyone seemed to be outside the hotel drunk and whooping it up outside our bedroom window. This was probably the single worst hotel stay my husband and I have ever had the misfortune of having. When I called downstairs at 2 am to ask when on earth the music would cease, they told me not until after 3 at least and that no, I couldn’t switch rooms and (before I could even ask) no, they would not give me a discount. They were extremely rude and uncaring.

The pictures on the website definitely portray a more awesome room than what it is in person. We saw ratings of four and five stars, but I would definitely say this is about a two or three star hotel. Front desk help was too busy playing games on their phones to b of much help. Our king bed was literally rock hard, BUT...the nespresso machine was nice! With that being said, the bar/restaurant/beer garden in the back was beautiful and quite surprising.

Funky hotel with a lively atmosphere and style. Taps in our room were endearingly wonky as were the pictures in the restaurant which a more finickity guest would want to straighten out. Service was excellent except that the kitchen closed at 9 PM on Sunday and we got in at 9:15. Walked a goodly way for a substitute but only found an inferior one. The hotel was clean and our room was large enough with all the amenities. However I would not recommend this hotel. It was not close to the main items, there was no where to park, the club underneath stays open all hours of the night so you’re kept up from the music and the hallways trying to get to your room make you feel like you’re walking through a horror house.

Music pounding until 2 a.m.

Unless you can sleep with music pounding to the point of making the windows of your hotel room vibrate until 2am, I’d definitely not recommend this place. The owners apparently do not understand that a hotel is primarily a place to sleep and is not compatible with an incredibly loud, late-night nightclub on the premises.

Warm and friendly welcome.

So pleased we choose this hotel for our 1 night stay before going on a cruise. Hotel was warm and welcoming, the staff were all so helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was excellent. Will stay here again.

Charming, Comfortable, Convenient

It's such a cute hotel. Love the decor. And has a charming bar/restaurant downstairs with excellent food and drinks. Very reasonable breakfast if going à la carte.

Lovely place, good location, quirky place, really lovely staff but unmanned reception and despite the warning that it may be noisy it was far worse. Why does the music need putting back on at 6am when it was only turned off at 3.45am.
