Clean room. Robes and slippers included. Really comfortable bed. Lovely decor. Location is round 25 minute walk from Temple Bar and 30 mins to Smithfield BUT close to the calmer Camden Road (Famous for the Camden Road Mile to the centre, lots of lovely irish pubs and restaurants). Also a nice walk along the canal to St Stephen's Park.

Staff are friendly enough. Would be nice to have biscuits in the room.

Booked this hotel on expedia and booked a room with a \"king bed\" upon arrival, was put in a room with a double bed. Let front desk know and they moved us \"to a room with a king bed\" and turns out it was the exact same room type with double bed. Then reception decides to tell us there is no king beds. Not sure why expedia gives the option to book a king. Then reception moves us again for the third time to a room with two doubles and expects an upcharge for this room type. I'm very unhappy with the overall experience. The hotel is also very out of the way of the city center and overall not worth staying at this location. We also asked for extra blankets, plural, and they gave us 1 singular very thin sheet. At that point we were so frustrated we didn't even bother trying again. I really wish I could get a refund for this experience as it was terrible. We will never stay here again, we suggest staying at the Chancery because they have exceptional service and facilities.

A driveway at the front doors for loading and unloading luggage would be very helpful. Finding close parking on the street just for unloading is a challenge.

Room with 2 doubles was very clean and well stocked however, 4 adults trying to maneuver around each other was difficult. Not quite enough square footage to pass each other at end of the beds.

The bar area and staff were wonderful and breakfast options were great!

Don’t use the link in Expedia for directions (normally works perfect) it took me to the wrong location.
The ONLY reason I did not give it a perfect rating was the parking sucked. The options are to park 20 walking mins away if you want free, discounted parking was 10 mins walk away or if you get a space near the hotel if have to top off the parking meter every 3 hours until midnight. Otherwise it was great!

There was a competition in the hotel, a spin the wheel for Pieta House, we won breakfast for the room and when we went down for it the following morning they said it was for 1 person and not for the room. We clarified when we won that it covered the room and not one person. We had 2 rooms booked and the other room also played and won and same issue. They argued with us in front of other staff, they tried to look into the Pieta bucket to check how much was donated and then when we told them to leave it and give us a complaint form they eventually said we could all have breakfast. We obviously didn’t bother as we were mortified at that point . Also did not agree that the hotel staff be able to check a donation bucket for a charity .. it was on the reception counter and you had to put the money in before you could spin the wheel so we were made to feel like they didn’t believe us . Awful, awful experience

Good place to stay if you don’t like hot shower!

No water for 10 hours and no hot water from 7:00pm till check out the next day at 10:00pm. No remedy or compensation offered other than front desk saying ‘Sorry, we are working on it’

Hot and Stuffy - check to make sure AC/fan works

The AC in our room did not work. We complained after the first night (our room was 25.5 degrees C) and called downstairs several times. They said they would fix it on their end and reset it. The next day we went by the front desk - they assured us it would be better. We kept bathroom door shut and all lights even off as much as possible. Another several calls and at 1am they finally offered to switch us to another room and give us a complimentary breakfast. This was useless since we were getting up early the next morning to catch a flight - and not sure if they could not override the timer why they didn’t offer this earlier when we called several times. The fan mode was not even working/blowing anything - just hot and stuffy with 3 people in the very small room. We were hoping we would have slept comfortably in the king beds for our last 2 nights of our trip - but it was impossible to sleep because of how hot it was and could not even open a window. Note: other family members were in another room on a different floor and they were not having this issue. So it leads me to believe that timer or no timer on the AC - ours was simply not working and we were continuously brushed off and no one would ever come to our room to see what were were talking about.

Great stay at the NYX Portobello, only slight gripe is that on arrival we were allocated an accessible room, which was also a conjoined room, this was despite us booking a superior room. That said we asked about this following morning and we were offered a change which we accepted! Breakfast good choice and good value. Would recommend
