All interactions with staff were good. Room was clean, bed comfortable, shower hot and powerful. Location os excellent. However, noise was an issue - hum in room, noise from outside. Ear plugs are provided but it would be too loud for me to return.

Stayed Thursaday night. Difficult to sleep before 3AM due to noise of basement nightclub. Rang reception they stated there is a warning on expedia website. The mobile website states that patrons.have access to hotel nightclub - it doesnt state that you will be inable to sleep due to noise. I believe the nightclub is thurs and fri night.

Incredible hotel. Property was like nothing I've ever seen before. Bar/food prices were very reasonable AND it was great food/drinks.

The room was wonderful as well. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is how disrespectful the bar manager came off. On different occasions, he treated my wife and I as if we'd never stepped foot in a restaurant in our lives. Very condescending. After first picking up on this, we sat around and noticed other patrons being treated the same way.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this place. The entire staff was great aside from the aforementioned bartender. You'll definitely enjoy your stay. Just don't be surprised when someone treats you like you're stupid.

The room was too noisy - from LOUD, LOUD music from below in the bar / nightclub. This was not only at night but during the afternoon, on a Spanish Day! Given the hotel was not full, I should have been given a room on the road side. The music was deafening.

The water was never hot enough for showering.

The room was comfortable but noisy due to the tram rail transport running about every 30 minutes. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with the exception on one surly reception clerk. Room rate quoted was sporadic depending on when I checked. I would look elsewhere in the future.

Could be better

The Harcourt hotel is in a great location for accessing points of interest in Dublin. It's also extremely noisy late at night, making it difficult to sleep. We got by the noise by having a fan on next to our bed, which drowned out the partying with white noise. I would not want to stay here in the summer as I expect it would be stuffy and hot (no AC). Late September was ok, which is why I went ahead and booked our room

There was a special event happening. We had travelled for 12 hours and had to wait 1.5 hours to be served a burnt, tasteless pizza. Disco music started at 10pm and the walls were thumping it was so loud and this continued until 2:30am. While the management was sympathetic I do not understand how the Harcourt Hotel could possibly offer comfort and decent food. We were booked in for 6 nights but left after1 night.

The good: - front staff were very nice, arranged taxi for early morning to airport, and in terms of location, there are some cool pubs and restaurants in walking distance, and a little less touristy ...

The less good: dated, small, no ventilation (we had to open window), room facing street on 3rd floor, and yes it was Friday night, so partiers out past 2, and we heard them and the metro passing by... so if looking for a great night sleep, this is NOT it. And of course the price was jacked way up due to the Steelers/Vikings game - little choice was left when we booked (thats on us)!

We were aware of the nightclub noise but not the construction jackhammer noise. We requested a room change from the day staff and was told nothing could be done. Later we checked with the night staff - Maya who switched us with no problem. The rooms had no heat which we were told hasn’t been turned on yet

Decent hotel and value for (reasonably) central Dublin. Although parking was 0.5 mile away and area was a bit noisy with people partying and walking by. Check out the HUGE beer garden if you go, great bar and decent breakfast. Thanks!

Centrally located hotel next to pubs, restaurants, public transport (tram/luas/ airport bus stop) & coffee shops.

If the weather is nice you can walk down to Trinity / Temple Bar or take the tram for a 5-8mins journey.

Given it’s an old historical building, the hotel only has elevators to floor level 3, so if you’re staying on upper floors, the porter will be a godsend.

There’s a lot of construction around currently, so it does wake you up early and nothing Harcourt can do about that.

If you are a light sleeper dont expect to get a good night sleep - between the construction across the street, the tram street car, the disco along with late night of slamming doors, it was too noisy to sleep well. That said, the staff was very friendly and helpful while the room was clean and comfortable.

This is a night club not a hotel

I stayed here on a business trip and it was a disaster. The noise from the nightclub was so extreme that my entire room vibrated until 2:30 am. Earplugs were provided, which tells you everything you need to know but they do nothing when the walls are shaking from the bass. There was no proper warning during booking that this is essentially a club with rooms above it, not a place to rest. Completely unsuitable for anyone who needs a quiet night’s sleep.
In 20 years of travelling for work, I have never had a worse experience.

Our room was beautiful, but it was directly above the night club patio. The music from the nightclub is so incredibly loud that it almost ruined our night. The front desk was able to deliver a fan, though initially they weren’t sure if they had any. That part was weird and confusing. The nightclub also turned their music off early, which we were extremely grateful for.

The nightclub music is also too loud when you’re in the nightclub. When we were there it seemed to be mostly older people staying in the hotel.

A nice hotel in a good location near trams and easily walkable to downtown. Room was quite hot even though outside temperatures had cooled down. Told air conditioning was being installed soon. Can be noisy at night especially when the window has to be left open. Rowdy partners coming from elsewhere until 3 AM.

The ground floor was very nice with a nice bar and restaurant. The location was nice too, close to town but not right in the middle of it. The staff were super friendly! Unfortunately the music from the downstairs bar was right out our window late into the night. The room was also stifling hot and the window only opened a few inches (and when we did, it was so loud) so we barely slept.

Wonderful boutique hotel with lots of character. Check-in was easy and staff were extremely helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.

The street noise (we were on 2nd floor) was very very loud at all times of the night - impossible to sleep through, so we had to close our windows, which made the room really stuffy and warm and our sleep was difficult. (It was not hot outside, only about 13-14C overnight) It would be nice if the hotel would provide in-room fans to help with air flow?

Overall though a very nice stay and we would stay here again - and maybe bring our own fan. :)

This was the most pathetic stay in my lifetime. The staff was extremely irresponsible and carefree.There were multiple issues with hotel that I had faced:
1. Wi-Fi did not work at all. On complaining of same they said they will get the router guy come and check the same, and then no follow up. On complaining the second time they said we can give you another room with better connectivity the next day, keep all your stuff at reception. Come on who does that ,I am your customer on a business visit I can’t wait till tomorrow! my work gets impacted but they were pretty cold towards the issue & did not bother to check later either.
2. The cleaning staff won’t put the basic shower gel soap etc in place if u use it the next day.
3. You will have to call them again and again for water. The housekeeping won’t even keep the water in the room.
4. I asked them to book a cab when I checked out, which they did using FreeNow, however the cab did not come even after 10 mins. Upon requesting the receptionist to help and share the number of the cab driver , she lied saying she doesn’t have access to the drivers number. All because she didn’t care or bother. Using the same app, I booked the cab and was able to contact my driver.
5. Last but not the least, if you are on a business trip avoid hotel on Friday or Saturday night as they have a night club and the area is very noisy and crowded till 3 am. I was staying at 2 floor & up whole night, after travelling for 15 hours.

Uncomfortable bed combined with a ground floor front facing room didn’t make for a great night sleep.

Breakfast was a bunfight - nobody explained how to get tea / coffee - settled for juice, and the hot buffet was poorly stocked - rock hard fried eggs and bacon.

On a more positive note, the service and experience in the bar the evening before was good. A great pizza and super friendly team

Unfortunately we we put in units that were garden level. The windows opened to the noisy courtyard area, and were ground level, so you don’t really want to open anyway. Rooms were stuffy. The worst was that the people above us walked around on the noisy floors until 4 am. It’s an old building. I suspect the ceiling/floor above was not insulated for sound. We got no sleep. Decor is old but otherwise the property was well kept.

The harcourt leaves tons to be desired

We really did not enjoy our stay at the Harcourt. We were placed in a room in an adjoining building while our friends and family members were in the main building. In comparison to the other rooms ours was much tinier than their rooms and up four flights. At one point the sink clogged and backed up. The room itself was super dark and the shower was beyond tiny. Our other friends stayed at neighboring hotels for Less money and WAY nicer rooms.

The property was very well kept and was in walking distance to everything, but the adjacent nightclub was really loud and when we complained to the staff they told us to use the earplugs that were in the nightstand. The club noise goes until 3am. Don't stay here unless your intent is to go clubbing.

So there’s a night club affiliated with the hotel. The night I stayed, a party raged on until 3 in the morning. The concierge explained there was nothing he could do about the disturbance and brought ear plugs to my room. The ear plugs had zero effect and I was unable to sleep until the party ended.

Staff are very welcoming and professional. Bed was comfy and clean. Bathroom small, but efficient. Have hot water maker for tea in room as well as tea,sugar and cream, very nice. Hotel old, but well kept. Breakfast was fresh and buffet style so you can eat as much as you can, though no to many choices of food. Location is great a walkable distance from everything. Took public bus from DUBLIN Airport, like four euros and left me a couple of blocks from hotel. It took like one hour to get there, but hotel checking wasn't until 4pm so we got plenty of time. Only negative was the checking time too late at 4pm is outrageous you don't know where to go to kill time when you are tired ater a long trip

The property is nice. My single concern, not a complaint is it is very noisy if you happen to get a room facing the front of the building. Music and people noise is extremely loud. To confirm this, the hotel actually supplies ear plugs in the room. We were able to tolerate it. You may ask for a room in the back?

This hotel was wonderful. Staff were friendly and helpful. They even let me leave my bags at the front desk before checking in so I could venture around the city without lugging a suitcase behind me. They did the same when I checked out! Wonderful staff. Only down side was the bar and restaurant were wayyyyy to overpriced. I went in. Sat down. Saw the menu and walked out. It's wild BC really nice pubs and restaurants are cheaper than the hotel bar. Not cool guys. Other than that, it was amazing. Great room. Beds were so comfy and the shower was perfection. High pressure and you can have it super hot, if that's your thing.

Lovely place with very comfy beds, there was a nice bar on site and also a night club (no noise issues from club) although we didn’t use any of these as was only a brief stay. There is currently construction work taking place directly over the road which starts at 7am, we had a room facing this and although we did get awoken when they started work we were both back asleep within 5 minutes and were not awoken again . Plenty of bars and food places within a 5 minute walk and grafton street/temple bar a 10 minute stroll, there is a Luas stop very close by and the AirPort Express coach stop is just around the corner. Would definitely stay here again.

The overall hotel is shabby and hot (no AC or fan), a lift that feels like it could plummet to the basement at any time. The kicker was a live band playing in the Hotel's bar that was so loud in my room that normal conversation was impossible and forget about watching TV or even relaxing. The response from the front desk was \" that it would stop at 10 PM\".
We moved to another hotel!

On our last night we had a drunk female intruder in our room. She walked in and used our restroom then locked herself in there. Our door was locked but she was able to gain access. The hotel took zero responsibility and had no cameras near our room to show how she was able to access it. The police and management took 4 hours to arrive. We were terrified and traumatized at 4am when everything happened and throughout the ordeal. Thankfully we were checking out that morning. The hotel has stated it was our fault she was able to gain entry. They have not allowed us to speak to upper management. They are not offering a refund. They showed no sense of urgency during the ordeal to have management onsite (they arrived 4 hours later). Management stated it was our issue and negligence even after we showed them the door could be opened without a key (which we were not aware of until after the incident). Police couldn’t site fault due to the video footage being away from our door. This seemed to be a regular occurrence for the hotel based on their demeanor, lack of empathy, and lack of urgency or care. I would stay far far away. You’re better off on a park bench than this extremely loud, run down, non-secure hotel. But don’t take my word for it, just wait for the 4am naked drunk person to use your bathroom while you sleep then be woken up in terror. This place deserves negative stars!!

What we liked: convenient location, with different ways to get around, as it was central to a radius of options for food, groceries, etc. Bus and train very convenient. Place was clean and quiet.
What we didn't like: front desk staff never seemed to know the answer to anything, though their attitude was good and they tried to help. Breakfast involved standing in a long line with a woman making note in her notepad of room numbers of people getting breakfast. B/f was Euro16 but we never got it as standing in line was unbearable unless you wanted a long leisurely breakfast.
