We will never stay here again! We booked for four nights stayed one & left. The noise level from the casino & pub next to us was unbelievably loud!! The music, singing, & shouting lasted till past 3am. The hotel gives you earplugs! Which were useless! The staff was nice. The location in Temple Bar is great if you are 25 or younger & want to party all night long. If you need your sleep... stay elsewhere!!

Booked 2 rooms. I was the unlucky one room 311which backs out onto the beer garden of the bar on ground floor. Live music, crowds, fire alarms, let washiing, clanging bottles going on ALL NIGHT I got zero sleep on both nights. Marginally better sleep on the first night because id had a fair bit to drink. Jeez I never one to complain but i definitely think id have a better kip if I slep in the street

I stayed 2 nights at Camden Street Hotel and was very disappointed with the room conditions. There was a persistent foul odor coming through the window, but once it was closed there was no ventilation at all, leaving the room stuffy with lingering smells. The blinds were broken so I couldn’t block out the light, and several maintenance issues made the stay even more uncomfortable: the toilet seat was crooked, the shower and sink were clogged, and when the water was running, the sink filled up and the shower overflowed. The receptionist did try to help by bringing a fan, offering an eye mask, and suggesting taping the blinds, but these are temporary fixes for problems that shouldn’t exist. The location is central with lots of restaurants, bars, and attractions nearby, and the price reflects that, but proper maintenance and basic room functionality are expected. Overall, the stay did not meet the standard advertised, and I believe compensation is fair.

The room was advertised as “sound proof”. So we were surprised to find that the room was so loud it didn’t even sound like we had a window. We finally could get some sleep around 3am. Also, the guy at the front desk was rude and they didn’t allow us to store our bags.

It was that bad we checked out a day early!
You have to ring a doorbell to enter, every single time, no matter what time of day or night.

Despite booking through Hotels.com they took copies of our passport, which seems like a very out of date process!

The Noise, Oh my giddy aunt! I was under no illusion that I would hear noise, but incessant loud noise till 2am was not the ticket!

Bed was horrible and springy, I farted and the spring was genuinely still vibrating a minute later!

Camden street is a great time for pub hopping. Devitt’s has some outstanding traditional Irish fair that’s worth the stop. Cassidy is a live music pub at a reasonable volume. The Camden bar is gigantic with multiple different locations to grab a pint. The hotel was no frills but was clean and met the criteria for a decent/good place to stay.

The noise from outside was completely unbearable. We could not go to sleep before 2-230AM, until the club next door closed. We tried using ear plugs with over ear noise cancelling head phones, but nothing worked. With no air conditioning, and a window that didn't close all the way, nor having a shade over it, sleep was a huge issue. They also didn't have hot water one day and then no toilet paper for anyone in the hotel the next. The manual process of being let in the hotel for security purposes also was a challenge. On multiple occasions we were stuck waiting for someone to buzz us in or to ask questions at the front desk. Our experience was so bad, I will be seeking a refund either through or Expedient and if that fails, will be disputing the charges with credit card company.

While you’re warned about a nightclub next door in the very fine print of the listing (I mean who reads all the way down anyways), we’re thinking pulsing beats and base reverb, not full on live band with screeching guitar, hot mic and every drunk Irishman within 2km singing to every song at the top of their lungs. If you’re one of them, you may love this place, but if you plan to sleep before 2am you’re out of luck. Oh and there was no hot water either in the tap or the shower. We do NOT recommend.

The room was very clean and tidy, great that we could leave our bags here before check in.

No air con in the rooms or access to a fan which was disappointing, you couldn’t really have the window open because of the outside noise.

We were woke up one morning to the most horrendous constant smashing of glasses sounds, it was like sleeping next door to a recycling plant or something mechanical. Having a fan would have avoided this torture.

Hotel was in a great location, perfect for what we needed and based on the reviews it was so much better than expected. Room was clean, modern and huge. There was 4 adults in one room and we had plenty of space. The noise from the club wasn’t an issue for any of us. Will definitely stay in this hotel next time I come.

Room was 1 meter distance from the club next door. Open ferrance meant noise pounded through into our room until 3am. Earplugs provided weren’t enough to drown the pulsating music out. Room needs double glazed windows and also the terrace needs walls to make it fair on people wanting to sleep at the hotel! Not only that but the club start jet washing and bagging glass bottles at 7am so there really is only a 4he window to get any rest. Not worth the money!

We loved our stay here (group of 6). Each person had a comfortable bed. Lots of plug-ins and lights. Bathroom and shower were great - though the shower floor is very slippery!

Staff were super helpful and offer discounted parking at the St Stephen’s green parkade (10-minutes walk from the hotel) if driving. Close to nightlife, restaurants and some shopping. Police presence was on lots of corners so it was uneventful and quieter than I expected.

I did not find it too loud like some of the reviews had indicated. There is no on-site parking. It was central to everything. We walked to the zoo St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Dublin Castle. I would stay here again.

Great location. The noise level from the nightclub was over the top. It was like sleeping in the nightclub. We had to wait for the staff to ring us in from the street into the lobby and that took several minutes. Staff not very friendly. Room was clean but overpriced all things considered. There is a takeaway food location 2 doors down that was great for a late night meal. I wouldn't recommend if yoir window is ishared with the nightclub courtyard.

Excellent location on Camden Street, 10 minutes on foot to the end of the street (Temple Bar area). Has Jimmy Rabbite’s connected which had live music 6pm-2am (then music off by 2:30) which is great when you’re out but given the heatwave, made it absolutely impossible to sleep until 2:30am each night as the speakers are ungodly loud. There was also no fan/air con so it was ridiculously hot in the room at all times (also meant window had to stay open despite the music..). Extractor fan not working in bathroom either and needed to ask for extra toilet roll, towel change and hairdryer but staff pleasant and attentive with each request. Overall cracking location and I imagine when Dublin returns to its usual temperatures would be far more bearable to sleep with window closed.

The location is the only redeemable quality for this hotel. It is walking distance to many shops and restaurants. However, the hotel is very old. It does not have A/C and when you open the windows the smell of old grease from the next door night club/restaurant makes it unbearable. Speaking of the night club, they give you ear plugs because the noise goes on until 3 a.m. Horrible stay with horrible customer service. The tipping point for me was waiting outside for a good 30 minutes for the receptionist to open the door. She had gone on break. It is so stupid to have a room key that won't let you in the building. Don't stay here.

We had a very disappointing experience with the staff at the Camden Hotel. When we accidentally arrived a week early for our reservation, they were extremely unhelpful in resolving the issue. Despite explaining the situation in person, we were not offered any form of credit or refund. Ultimately, we didn’t even end up using our stay, and the lack of flexibility or support from the hotel was frustrating and disappointing.

Camden Hotel – my last choice if staying again

Unfortunately, I would only recommend this hotel based on my recent weekend stay as a last resort, despite a few positives. (Room 312)

The good:

The bed was very comfortable, which made resting easier when the noise finally stopped.

The bathroom was clean, modern, and well-equipped.

The location suited my needs perfectly—it was central and convenient for where I needed to be.

However, the negatives far outweighed the positives:

The noise from the two bars located on the ground floor was absolutely unbearable. Trying to outdo each other on who could play or get their customers to either sing the loudest, the music went on to 2.30 a.m. both nights, making it almost impossible to sleep. Should have realised when ear plugs were provided beside the bed (which were useless anyway). The room would need soundproofing

Communication was poor for check-in, and no one clearly explained prior to arrival what was needed.

The telephone in the room wasn’t connected to any line, so contacting reception (especially in an emergency) was impossible.

The fire alarm went off during the night, and shockingly, staff poorly communicated with guests. There was no reassurance, guidance, or follow-up, which was incredibly concerning. Other guests were confused.

The room had no air conditioning or heating, making it uncomfortable regardless of the time of day.

All in all, while the room itself had potential, the overall experience was stressful and put a bit of a dampener on the weekend

This was the only place I could find a triple room without having to book a hostel. The room was fine, it was fairly clean, and the bathroom was clean. We were too hot at night because of the thick duvets (no top sheet)
BUT we didn't realise until we had a confirmation email that it was above a nightclub, which on a Saturday night in Dublin was noisy. Sunday night wasn't as bad.

Able to extend checkout with no issues. All staff were happy and helpful. Nightclub very well run, promoting a safe enviroment. Will definately be back.

The hotel is in a great location. Definitely suited to a younger person/couple/group. Club and next door bar which is overlooked by the hotel is open till 2.30am very loud but was expected. You are provided with ear plugs. My only down fall was our window didnt fully close as the catch was broken. But overall pleased with the stay and quality for money.

This is probably the worst “hotel” in Dublin. It’s placed on a top of night club, where the my have a merry time until 3 am. Property is wide open, no isolation, no sound proofing, single pane windows. Stay away. It’s probably perfect if you picked up a wrench and want to stay somewhere after the nightlife but not for anything remotely relating to a silent night

Easy check in, lovely receptionist.
The hotel is beside a pub with live music. Despite the fact that didn’t bother us at all, I didn’t see any advertising about that before confirming my booking.
The music goes up to around 2am.
There is a food market opposite that is very good, affordable and serves all meals.
Walkable distance to everywhere.

But when i checked in they said i had not paid
But now iam home and checked my cards i paid twice but on different cards iv not had a response as yet

Pretty good hotel! Check in was easy, and room was clean enough. Of course, the noise is to be expected and the earplugs were a welcoming touch. However, what I will say is the window did not close for us, meaning we were especially susceptible to the noise downstairs. Other than that, really friendly staff and housekeeping was lovely :)

The hotel was in a nice location for access to things we wanted to see and do. They were fully transparent about being between a pub and night club and even provided ear plugs in our room. It was very loud, very late. We used the ear plugs. The worst part was the room was stuffy without having the window open and the noise was just too much with the window open. Cigarette smoke also blew in. Ultimately we just put up with the stuffy room.

Room inside OK - but noise level extremely loud until 2 a.m. in the morning - impossible to sleep there. Hotel.com should not have such a place on their books without major warnings or alerts - not even ear plugs could help. Very bad experience - night club surrounds room and has major events with hundreds of attendees and live bands and the room has no sound-proofing at all (some cheap plastic on windows) and they charged us £140+ for a one-night stay and only mentions night club after you have paid - followed by an addendum of - NO RFUNDS!

Really good value for money and excellent location! Staff were very helpful and friendly. It does get a bit loud as there is live music next door, but I personally liked the atmosphere and if you close the window it’s not as loud (earplugs are also provided). The shower had great water pressure and was instantly hot. The only downside is the rooms can get quite hot with no A/C but overall a really pleasant stay, perfect for a quick weekend getaway and close to all major attractions!

We had to ask for hot water 3 times as we had none, the male receptionist with askinfade was less than helpful and quite rude and dismissive. Overall the room was OK, but it felt like it was missing furniture, for example no lamps or bedside tables. We asked for additional pillows as we only had one each and then brought one pillow.

However the downsides were the lack of luggage storage, having to ring the doorbell every time you wish to enter the building, not really friendly staff, strange stains on the carpet and most of all, our skylight window did not close completely so there was a gap 24/7 which made it really loud and a bit unsafe.

Don’t stay here if you want to get a night’s sleep or to have a hot shower.

Even with the ear lugs they provide you can still hear thumping loud music until at least 2 pm.

Owners need to invest in new windows and a new water shower system:

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Noisy and Rude Staff

We stayed at this hotel on November 15th, and the experience was one of the worst I’ve had. The noise from the bar was unbearable and continued until 3:30 AM, making it impossible to get any rest. When we tried to check an hour before the check-in (knowing rooms were available), the receptionist was incredibly rude and dismissive. Her treatment was both unprofessional and unwelcoming. Unfortunately, the night staff were just as unpleasant, showing no effort to address our concerns.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing or professional experience. Management seriously needs to address staff training and soundproofing if they want to retain guests in the future.

I was on the 3rd floor at the back of the building so noise wise not too bad. Music was loud but muffled- started at 10pm and lasted till 2:30am. I watched TV during this time. Never used the earplugs. The room was lovely and very clean! Location was excellent.

The checkin was unfriendly. I paid onsite with card, yet the receptionist looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for a receipt and tried to tell me I couldn't get it till checkout, despite having just been charged. I really needed a shower, but the water remained cold after 10 minutes of leaving it running in each direction of the tap. I tried calling Reception but they didn't answer so I had to dress and go down to report the problem and she could not have cared less, basically shrugged and offered no solution or offer of help. I let the water run another 20 minutes and it got tepid enough to quickly rinse my limbs. The pub next door was blasting music till 2am (on a Tuesday night) with drunks loudly sing-yelling along. It felt like the room walls were shaking with it. Ear plugs were provided in the room but completely useless against this. The live band stopped at 2am but crowd kept going even later. Avoid avoid avoid this place unless you’ll be out partying till 3am and don't like warm showers. Shocking price for this experience. I'm in Dublin at least every month and will never go near this place again and encourage others to avoid. It was very clean but nothing else to be positive about.

The guy at the desk sorry forgot his name was so helpful. He helped us so much with getting bus routes. We were on the side away from the club so music was not that loud for us. Our toilet seat was broken day 1 one we reported it and reported it everyday we stayed. It never got fixed. We requested housekeeping just for towels and garbage pick up. Room was extremely hot until last day when we figured out how to open window with front desk's help.

Got to the room and saw ear plugs on the bed, and yes, they were needed. Stay basically ignored us, outside when they begrudgingly opened the door for us each time we wanted to come back in.

The club nearby is incredibly loud, and the walls are thin enough to hear other guests in their rooms. Be prepared for 3am and 9am glass clean up.

Basically slightly better than a hostel, but don't fool yourself into thinking this is anything more than somewhere to crash.

Without doubt the loudest room I have ever stayed in and I travel
A lot. The room was directly above a live singer, the singer was louder in my room than parts of the bar, the bed was comfy and hotel was clean but there were no soundproofing measures whatsoever. Impossible to sleep until the singer stopped. Even with the TV on full blast you could not hear it. My Apple Watch kept going off due to the excessive noise

No customer service or support

Couldnt go on date booked, tried to reschedule but phone doesn’t work and I filled online form and email to explain this and request a different date but they only responded a day later and said it too late. Bad customer service and not very bright as I stayed there before and was likely to stay there again for business , not now

No air conditioning or fan in room. Window did open, however the live music from the bar directly outside made it impossible to sleep until it stopped at 2am. Hotel did provide ear plugs but that did little to help. No early check ins were allowed however they did provide luggage storage until check in. No hotel services. House keeping came in the second day and only replaced towels, no new sheets, bed made or floor swept.

Previous reviews indicated music was loud. After realizing room was right over the bar and with no AC those reviews do not give the totality of the music. As if I was sleeping in the bar, great music but not for people going to bed early.

Has many poor reviews. This is not a high end chain. This is an affordable, great location, clean, nice hotel. We had an even # room and no issue with noise. We were asleep about 10:30p for 2 nights without problem. 3 adults in a comfortable 3 bed room. Oversized window that opened. Clean bedding and bathroom. Seemed like new carpet. Happy for price and nice check in person.

Good place to rest your head

Does what it says on the tin. Very quick check-in and checkout, comfortable bed and great location. Earplugs provided as it's situated over a pub, but that just made it better for me.

The Camden was exactly what we expected it to be. Between the 4 of us we had 3 different rooms over 2 nights. The first night was Thursday and the music we could hear from the first floor rooms was loud but good. Not typical night club music, but stuff you could sing along to. Very loud in one room in particular, but we used the ear plugs and made it til the music cut off at 2am. The second night was Friday night and we were in a quad room on the 3rd floor in the back. Much further from the music. Could still hear it but at a more bearable level. We all slept like babies that night.
The rooms themselves were nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. All in all, a pleasant stay and they did the job.

Good costumer service, the room was only small when booked it said it was for three people but there was a double bed only, and no sofa bed, there was not also air conditioner the room was very warm, the hair dryer doesn’t work. Location is good close to many clubs and restaurants, good connection with public transport.

Room was nice and spacious and bathroom was large as well. Only 2 pillows per room for 2 people was not enough. When asked for more, we only got one. Stairwell area smelled of cigarette smoke, but otherwise enjoyed our stay.

Avoid this hotel, go sleep in the park.

The hotel is located in the middle of the loudest area in Dublin. There is no peace and no air con in the rooms. My specific room had a broken radiator that was continuing to heat the room even though it was turned to the off position. When this was reported to the front desk they did not care. The toilet, sink, and shower area is smaller than the back seat on a compact car.
