I had a great stay at the Marlin Hotel Stephens Green. It’s a stylish, modern hotel in an excellent central location on the south side of the River Liffey, making it easy to walk to most of Dublin’s top attractions.

The breakfast buffet was very good, with plenty of options to start the day right. I also really enjoyed the cozy lounge and restaurant area—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

Everything was clean and well maintained, and my room was impressively quiet, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Another big plus is the number of great restaurants and pubs just minutes away on foot.

Overall, a fantastic choice if you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a great base in Dublin.

Hotel staff, Lois, Lisa, Cristina, Elena and Victoria are excellent, including the restaurant staff. They are helpful, friendly and genuine. The location is great for transportation access, restaurant and shopping. However, the beds are the worst I have ever had. The springs are poking into you all night. The minute you sit on the bed the springs dig in and mske noises. Despite paying $411 a night for am execuitive room no resolution of the issue for four nights. Given how bad it was I couldn't have been the first person to complain. The hotel was full the night before. Someone must have complained but no action taken.

The breakfast buffet was worth it. Really delicious.
The rooms were nice. The location allowed for walking to many of the sites. We had 2 of the smaller kings and it worked well for one person but pretty tight for 2 with large suitcases. No closet but one large drawer.
The problem was the air conditioning. It’s automatically programmed to go off at night. That’s when you are in the room and need it on! The cover is heavy so keeping the room cool was necessary. If I had a top sheet? That would have worked fine. I requested one and never got it. It turns off around 11 so every night at 11:30 I woke up hot and turned it back on. In my room, that handled it and it stayed on the rest of the night although the fan dropped to the lowest setting. In the other room, my son got up 4 times every night to turn it back on. He called the desk and asked them to allow his room to stay on. They said they could put an override on it but nothing changed. You go to a hotel to sleep. Leave the air conditioning on at night. Or have a lighter cover option. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Only problem we had was that we left our room after breakfast one day (9.00am) to do a bike tour, left the message card to clean room, both needed to shower after the bike tour. Came back to hotel about 3.00pm, room not cleaned, reported to front desk & went out again for 1 hour as we were told they would get room done immediately. Returned to find that room was cleaned, fresh towels, but no bottle water, dirty glasses & coffee cups still there. Contacted room service again & all fixed within 10 mins. This was only hiccup we had.
Breakfast is plentiful, the usual hotel buffet you get everywhere, but, you can order ommelets

Large vibrant lobby with a good amount of seating. Well-located in city center. Check-in and check-out are done on a kiosk, but there is staff available to assist. The large bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom was poorly ventilated so it felt stuffy. There was some mold on the grout between the shower tiles. I forgot 2 moderately priced rings in the room and was not notified that they were found.

Hotel is well maintained and well located. Some of the staff were less than helpful. Paying for breakfast became an ordeal, check out included unclear instructions on how to exit car park when prepaid. Also the cleaning staff banging and clattering in the room next door before 8am was not appreciated. Have stayed here before and this was a return visit, but They service was.not as good as previously.

Loved the location, excellent to be able to wander around the city and be back at your room in no time at all without having to hop into a taxi to get back to your hotel. Staff were super friendly and attentive, the only minor complaint would be the layout of the room and the tiny window with a view of the side of the angled building. Other than that, would stay here again.

I booked a 4-night stay and when we arrived at 6am from an overnight flight from the US, the room was not available despite my reservation for the night before so we could sleep a bit when we arrived. I wrote to the hotel letting them know I booked the room for the night but we wouldn’t arrive until 6am. They still cancelled my room as they said we were a ‘no show’. They put us in a cosy king room and over charged us which served the purpose but it took a couple days to get fixed. The staff who fixed it was awesome!!!

The location is great for getting to Trinity College and the museums. We got the cozy King and the room is small but well organized. A little weird having to climb out the foot of the bed to go to the bathroom- but doable. Cost was good for in the city. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well.

I needed a larger room with space on either side of the bed. Most suites are the same with two larger suites per floor. I wouldn’t recommend the regular suites if you have mobility issues. They’re too small and you have to climb on the bed to get in and out.

After traveling across Europe for 2 mo. this was the worst hotel we encountered.

1. the pics of the rooms are a little misleading. It is a wall to wall bed and the only way to get in and out is by crawling from the bottom.

2. Housekeeping was terrible. we stayed for a week, but the first 4 - 5 days were spend complaining about the way the room was left after their visit.
On the following day after our arrival we discovered some brownish spots on the botom sheets. so we complained...sheets were changed.
on the next day the room was barey touched. (SEE PICS) we complained again. Room was taken care of .sort of.

The day after, we came back in the evening...the room was not touched at all!
we complained to the managers Sophie and Leani....we were given a chocolate and we were assured that they are trying to make the rest of our stay comfortable. But it didn't happen! On the next day we found a bundle of dirty cleaning gloves on the bed...(SEE PICS) Complained again....

The ac/heater was a joke. you either bake or freeze. Each time you have to go to reception and ask for the termostat to be reset. Thats were the controls are! ALL negative reviews have addressed these issies/problems and each time the standard response from the hotel was ...we are going to take care of this/that. By the way besides the 2 chocolates we were given ( we put them in the garbage) Sophie and Leani offered a 75 eu credit and 75 eu voucher for their restaurant. We refused. Never again.

We are a couple in our early 60's who stayed for 4 nights at the Marlin Dublin. We found this hotel to be in a very good location. The walk to many of our chosen destinations was about 10-20 minutes. It was also about a 5 minute walk to Stephen Green tram station. We appreciated that we could store our luggage prior to check in. We were very grateful to Victoria who ensured our check in to be efficient and pleasant. Our very early morning check out was also smooth thanks to Yaseen. The lobby was large and had plenty of seating and interesting decor. There was even a Photo Booth (although we didn't use it). We paid ahead to have the breakfast buffet included and found it be very good with hot and cold selections (a full Irish breakfast). We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious with very good service. The seating area was interesting with lots of unique decor. Our room was a moderate size and the bed, a queen, was very comfortable with 2 decent pillows. There was a coffee maker and boxed water. There was a safe, and a small closet. The window had curtains & blinds (operated by buttons near the bed) so the room was very dark for a great sleep. Our room was extremely quiet as it was located at a back corner. Shower had excellent water pressure & a half glass wall rather than a door. Toiletries were L'Occitane. Lots of outlets & ports on desk & nightstands. Overall, our room was very comfortable. A great location & stellar staff make this a hotel we would recommend.

Excellent location, fantastic staff always available and very helpful, great lobby for sitting and talking or people watching, quiet and comfortable room. The food is only average and the price of a full breakfast is a bit steep given what's on offer. The motion detector for the lighting in the bathroom requires quick showers --- or asking (as I did) that it be deactivated---which they did with no fuss.

The thermostat did not control the HVAC, properly. We decreased the temperature prior to going to bed. When we woke up, it was smoldering in our room. Miserable sleeping conditions.

The shower did not have a full enclosure, which caused water to go everywhere on the floor. Poor bathroom ventilation. Everything was dripping wet after you took a shower.

No reading lights near the bed. Only bright full room lights for reading at night.

The bathroom light remained on for an extended time, shining through the glass door, making it difficult to get back to sleep.

The was no room for luggage. The accommodations were more like pods than actual rooms.

Check-in was awful. Parking was ~46 euros. Very difficult and confusing process to park your car.

No top sheets on the bed. Forced to sleep with heavy comforter or no cover at all.

No Netflix.

I originally booked the \"cozy king\" room for my wife and I. This was a huge mistake. This room is definitely not suitable for 2 guests staying a week as we were. The only storage is under the bed. No luggage racks so one must trip over luggage. The next issue to be aware of which is not evident in the online pictures is that you must enter and exit the bed from the foot. This is a safety issue. The TV is facing the side of the bed so I would not plan on watching.
We did ask for a different room and that was suitable.

A few more issues. One, when we got to our new room, we noticed our phone and the chromecast were not working. The staff wrote the issues down and said maintenance would check it out. At checkout, those issues were still not corrected.

While laundry is available, avoid! It is 8 euros to wash and 10 to dry. However, the dryer was awful and we ran the dryer 3 times for one load and still the clothes were not dry. Again, we notified staff and they told us maintenance would fix. Regardless, we should not be charged 18 euros to do a load of laundry! We were given the offer of a \"free\" dryer use, but by that time, other people had already started their loads.

I was offered 65 euros to not give a 3 star review from the manager when I posted to another review site. They would rather pay people off than to fix their issues so they can have a great rating without earning it!

When it comes to vacations, two factors are crucial comfort and hospitality. The Marlin hotel excelled in this areas providing an outstanding experience. We stayed for a week and use this hotel as a base to explore Ireland. The staff were warm and welcoming , and the early check- in was a bonus after a long flight. The hotel's amenities, including a gym, laundry, facilities , and a Restaurant were excellent. The ambiance was lovely , with a pleasant scent and exceptional service. The hotel location near many attractions made it ideal choice . We would highly recommend the Marlin Hotel to anyone traveling to Dublin and would definitely stay here again.

The room heating is puzzling. It was cool outside 10 degrees but the room was set up for cooling only and the room temp went down to 16-17 degrees which is not nice for a hotel room. You have to go to reception and request that heat is allowed and they set something up from reception. Did it once but then the second day it went back to cooling only and a freezing room. I had to go yet again to request allowance for heat. Not what I would expect from a hotel with some star rating.
Also the hot water is not very hot for showers.
I can understand some energy consciousness but this was excessive.

We loved Sophie! Thank you for your warm immediate welcome.
The Marlin was a perfect location, just a few minute walk from Temple Bar scene but just far enough that it was still quiet in the hotel for sleeping. We had a wonderful time and the chicken wings were delicious!!
