Great for a solo staff, female safe, bright and clean, quiet (stayed midweek with no events on in area), fully staffed at all times, 24hr reception, room service, mini bar, bath with good shower, windows that open, really comfy spacious bed (was a king room) lots of wardrobe space, a nespresso coffee machine with variety of teas, delish bar food plus breakfast (served in room as option) late residents bar, close to city centre, lots of bars & restaurants in the area - to note really lovely helpful staff who go that extra inch to make sure you are okay & having a nice experience - really does make a diffference!

First time to stay here,
will definitely be back

Only downside is no pool / thermal spa - gym is super, to have access to a sauna & plunge pool would really have made it exceptional.

I stayed at the hotel recently and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the parking and staff attitude. I prepaid online for parking, but when I arrived the underground car park was completely full. If the hotel cannot guarantee a space, guests shouldn’t be charged in advance. I ended up having to park in the set-down area, and was still charged the full parking fee despite not being able to use the actual underground parking I paid for.

I rang reception to explain the issue and to ask if there were any alternative parking options, as the car park was so congested that cars were getting stuck with no proper way around. The receptionist I spoke to was not particularly helpful. What made the situation worse was that when he hung up the phone, my husband—who happened to be standing at reception—saw him make a face and a rude gesture, clearly showing he viewed my call as an inconvenience. This was extremely unprofessional and left a very poor impression.

Overall, the parking situation and the attitude from staff were disappointing and not what I would expect from a hotel of this standard

The hotel was pleasant enough, but while they stated there would be one cleaning in a weeks stay there was no cleaning, the fact that there was no coffee/ tea restock was very disappointing. Also the washing machine / dryer didn’t work properly and that meant wet clothes hanging and unwashed clothes… for over €200 per night these should not have been issues I needed to deal with.

Disappointing Experience

We have been coming to the Dublin Horse Show and staying at Herbert Park for many years.

Check-in is at 3 PM, but after 4 PM, our room was still not ready. The receptionist, after speaking with the manager, informed us that we were allocated an apartment. However, I specifically did not book an apartment, as I have stayed in one before and do not like it. I declined this option, and the receptionist went to get the manager. After waiting another 10-15 minutes, we were finally given a room.

The rooms are very dated.

I ordered tea from room service, but the porter forgot the milk, so we had to wait for that to arrive.

We also had a drink at the bar, but the drink I ordered was unavailable. Additionally, I noticed that there were flies all over the glasses and open drink bottles, which raised health and safety concerns. I mentioned this to the barman, but he seemed unconcerned.

Overall, it was one issue after another. The prices for the weekend during the Dublin Horse Show are exorbitant, which I don’t mind paying if the quality and service match the price. Unfortunately, this hotel is falling far below the expected standard.

On a positive note the room cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful.

Spent a great 5 nights at the Residences! The rooms are really lovely with park views and the mini dishwasher and washing machine was an unexpected surprise. Rooms are very tastefully decorated and bed was super comfortable.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Herbert Park Hotel. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. I needed a bunch of documents printed and they took care of it right away. The food was excellent and the room was clean and spacious.

Gorgeous hotel in a quiet part of Dublin

We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite, but even without that, the hotel is located in a beautiful part of Dublin. It's right by the park, which has Sunday farmers markets and great food. Easy to get in and out of the the city. Very safe, clean, and beautiful area.

Surprisingly dissatisfactory

We both. had a really bad night's sleep - I think this is the first time we've been assigned a standard double bed rather than a king-size or even two singles. And yes, of course I should have checked when booking. In addition, we had a meal in the dining section yesterday evening and one of our party found the lamb just about inedible. Yes, it was mentioned to the staff, but I doubt if it made any difference

Great hotel, clean and spacious, my only issue was cost of mini bar, I expected it to be a little expensive but I felt it was excessive, aside from that coffee machine was premium with free coffee/tea. Lighting in the room was too complicated, couldnt turn of individual lights, was kind of all on or all off, strip light above the window clicked every few seconds for a period after I switched lights off which was annoying. Overall 8 out of 10.

Enjoyable stay

I was quite surprised that the price range for this hotel was reasonable considering the location.

I liked the fact it was next to the canal and a park,had great transport links plus you can walk into town if you have the time and energy.

Check in and out were both swift. I didnt take advantage of the online link as i was send 15 emails which made me feel a bit dubious about whether they were bad links.

I was upgraded which was a lovely surprise and the room was massive and a lot bigger than my room at home!

Its always a bonus to have a coffee maker or kettle, which was attractively arranged in a presentation box. There is also a stocked fridge should you wish to take advantage of.

The toiletries were in a queasy packaging which also included lids and were easier to access than the harder plastics and had a bit more product than the smaller containers. The bathroom itself was clean.

The bed was huge and comfortable and i had no problem sleeping. There wasnt much noise from other neighbours apart from in the morning.

I would definitely consider staying here again.

We absolutely loved our weekend here for St Patricks day! All staff are friendly and approachable!
The little touch of bringing a birthday card and sweet treats to the room shortly after arrival for my daughter was extremely generous! And made my daughters day!
The herbert park literally next door was beautiful and lovely to walk round.
Breakfast was very good also!
Easy acess to public transport to get around also.
Will definitely stay again!

I have just had another lovely restful stay at the Herbert Park Hotel- I highly recommend this hotel located in the affluent leafy suburb of Ballsbridge yet within easy walking distance of fashionable Grafton Street- the hotel is also just steps from the serenity of Herbert Park perfect for a leisurely stroll - also steps from the hotel are a range of very upmarket cafes and restaurants whilst the dining facilities in the hotel itself are excellent- the hotel staff were as always welcoming and helpful - many of the rooms overlook the Park and are all well maintained

Unfortunately for us this hotel needs a big shake up!
I have stayed here a number of times over the years with my husband and we were always very happy. Based on this and its proximity to the RDS I decided to book it for myself and my mother as a Christmas treat.
The foyer area where the food and drink is served was poorly staffed and unclean.We stayed on the 1st floor and the rooms need a revamp badly and a freshening up. We arrived back to the hotel at 10pm after attending a show and we were told the kitchen was closed. All we wanted was a sandwich. In fairness the staff at the reception were friendly but overall a disappointing visit.

Booked for a 1 night stay The only hotel we could find to offer single rooms. We were upgraded on arrival. Both rooms were well laid out & very clean. Great shower & facilities. I would certainly recommend & would stay again. Buses outside to take into city centre & decent route to the 3 Arena. Staff professional & well presented. No complaints

I would highly recommend this hotel - it is located in Ballsbridge village - a very upmarket suburb yet within walking distance of the city centre - it is also adjacent to Herbert Park which is a really nice park for a walk etc the hotel is very well maintained and many of the rooms overlook the Park - the dining options in the hotel are very good but there are also numerous excellent cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel - Serena and all the staff at reception were most welcoming and friendly and the hotel is very quiet and relaxing and the area very safe

A delightful autumn weekend

A weekend stay in Dublin was made special by our stay in the Herbert park. We arrived to a complimentary room upgrade and were surprised by chocolates in our room.
The full Irish breakfast didn’t fail to fill us on both mornings.
The bathroom in our room was particularly epic too, with a full size shower, dual sinks, and a free standing bath.
