Staff all very approachable and friendly. The Junior suite was disappointing and not worth the price paid. Alot of traffic noise which even with the terrace doors closed was constant so not alotbof sleep. Very drafty room. Extractor not working in the bathroom and paintwork in the room in need of refresh. Would not book again. Staff lovely and the bar area nice. Breakfast room disappointing with the view of vans parked outside.

Clean room, lovely view from the balcony. Shops and cafes nearby, tourist attractions within walking distance if yoy are fit enough. Lots of other bars and restaurants in range if you do not fancy the rather loud in house DJ on the Friday and Saturday night. All in all, fantastic value for money with good facilities.

The hotel is nice but for Feb I was surprised we were given a small room with no view - it was internal to a walkway. Also we booked for pool and after booking later we were informed it was closed for reno - fine but no compensation..like breakfast or coffee offered as a token
Fine as the room had everything we needed...until we went to bed...mattress was a end of life - springs were digging into us when we layed down - so we slept around the lumpy springs.
When I told reception about mattress they just said they would make a note of it.
Just feel like bath & bed are the only things that matter and you should have reception be more receptive to recifying a less than good stay.

Very nice one night stay, I would definitely stay here again should I visit Dublin in the near future. Bed was supper comfortable over all just lovely stay friendly and staff highly recommended I don’t have breakfast booked but I’m sure it would be amazing.

The room was clean and tidy and well provisioned. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The only reason I have given 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the quality of the breakfast I had with them. I was seated and offered tea & coffee and pointed towards the buffet. The buffet was well stocked but everything was stone cold. Not just tepid, absolutely cold. I mentioned this to the on duty servers and one of them then told me that there was a menu option. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and had them change the scambled tofu for scrambled egg. When it arrived almost 15 minutes later(!!), it was missing items. By this time though, I needed to get going so as not to miss my flight and couldn't argue the point any more. Hotel breakfasts are always expensive. This one definitely wasn't the most expensive I've ever had/paid for, but it wasn't worth the money I did pay unfortunately.

I'd stay there again. But I wouldn't pay for the optional breakfast and I'd spend my money elsewhere.

One of the 2 lifts was perpetually being repaired. The average waiting time for the lift was 20 min. Horrible! I took the stairs for my one week stay.
Gym was big and well equipped, nonetheless.

Check in was terrible, booked a room with Twin beds got given a double, had to wait 45 mins until someone came to room to sort this, rather than just changing room. Very cold staff, we booked breakfast when got to hotel and then they wouldn't refund us when we didn't have breakfast, Carparking we were left in an underground carpark for quite a period of time waiting for hotel to open the gates to get to our car, even though a member of staff walked us down and just left us at gate. Not a great experience at all from the may hotels we have stayed in.

Our stay at The Spencer Hotel was very disappointing. Check-in was not pleasant — the reception staff were unfriendly, with the exception of who we believe was the manager. It set a frustrating tone for the stay.

The room was small, with carpets that felt a little dirty, and it was definitely not soundproof — hallway conversations and doors slamming were very audible. One of the two lifts was under construction, something not mentioned at booking. We watched an older couple give up after waiting more than 10 minutes and struggle to haul their luggage down four flights of stairs from the second floor. It was honestly painful to see and completely unacceptable.

The hotel is not kid-friendly. There were no vanity kits or other thoughtful extras, and overall, it felt very basic.

The location is convenient and accessible, which may work for business stays, and the Rituals products are a nice touch. However, for tourists or families, this hotel is not ideal. Unfortunately, the service, noise, and lack of comfort make it hard to recommend.

Rooms were amazing!! Breakfast and service in breakfast was great (Gloria) was perfect for a morning kind word and start — Hamid at front desk was always attentive to our questions and requests others that we encountered seemed to be disinterested
Spa cancelled my service by text even though I was a guest at the hotel — really a call to the room would have been nice don’t always check my phone on holiday

The location was good for what we were looking for. The staff were brilliant, and the spa and pool area were really nice!

The hotel was very nicce and the Staff was particularly nice. We stayed one night on a tour package and one night on our own. The breakfast was okay - I wish they could have started it a bit earlier in the morning as we didn't get breakfast one our last day; we needed to leave for the airport about the time breakfast started. Also, like most hotels in the UK and Ireland, the switch for the bathroom light is outside the bathroom, which makes it awkward when one person in a multi-person room needs to get up in the night to use the bathroom.

Really liked my stay here. The room is good sized, comfortable and modern furnishings. Room with a balcony is very nice to have -- great view of the river. Location is close to the light rail train, so easy and quick to get to the city center. Bar/restaurant downstairs is very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Not great for the price

This was our first hotel we stayed in Dublin. The price was almost $450 for one night on the weekend. It was overpriced and our room was a bit run down. It was not one one the nicer hotels in Dublin. Didn't take any pics of it because I was not impressed for the price.

Lovely stay!

My mum and I were staying down for a musical and the Spencer was just perfect location for what we needed. The staff at check in were lovely and very helpful. Our room was very clean and tidy, the bathroom had lovely Rituals toiletries, a lovely surprise!! The only downside for us, was we couldn’t locate the hotel car parking so we ended up using a car park nearby, but not a major thing. Would definitely return to the Spencer!

Left a lot to be desired

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I have to say, it left a lot to be desired. Right from the beginning, the atmosphere felt a bit off. The walls and doors seemed to hint that the hotel wanted to be something special, but it just didn't deliver. It felt outdated, like it was stuck in a past era.

When we checked in, the front desk staff wasn’t very friendly. We stood there for a little while, with four employees behind the desk, and not one of them greeted us. Instead, we were just told to wait, which was a bit disappointing. A warm welcome goes a long way, and we didn’t get that here.

On a positive note, the bed and some of the furniture looked like they had been updated, so that was a slight improvement. But overall, considering the price we paid, I don’t think we’d choose to stay here again. There are just too many other options that offer a better experience.

The hotel was great for transport links. Bus stop very close by. Was disappointed that the shower was over the bath. Would of expected a stand alone shower.
Breakfast was fine but we didn't see the menu options to order eggs or waffles until the last day as nobody had told us.
Only one working lift which means long waiting times at busy times.

Hard to fault. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Reception looked after our bags before check in. The hotel was clean. It was easy to get to and parking charge was reasonable for over 24hours.

Breakfast was excellent and again staff were extremely helpful. They kindly filled our water bottles with water and ice for the day we had ahead.

The room had a lovely balcony from which I could sit and enjoy the river and passers by.

The bed was comfortable though we were too warm. It was a hot day though.

Outside of the downtown area but located right on the River Liffey. Easy walking to everything. Health clube had a nice jacuzzi, along with lap pool. Buses stop right outside of hotel to and from the airport. Very convenient. Nice place. Our room had a lovely small balconey with table and two chairs!

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel because my son was already there with his class and I decided to stay close. The front desk staff are supper nice and they will help you any way they can. I kind of didn't like their breakfast rule. If you didn't book the day before, they will charge you 3 euros more due to I don't know what. If you stay in the hotel, you are a privilege guest and you shouldn't be charged more. One other thing I didn't like was that we booked a spa and due to traffic we were 15 min late. I know it was our fault but they should understand that this is a completely foreign country for us and we are not familiar with the transportation system. They charged us the full amount and I was like I would definitely mention this in my reviews for others to know there is no credit form their ends. Moreover, the concierge was supper nice guy named Philip who helped us a lot. He is a supper understanding guy opposite of the others.

A perfect hotel for tourists or people traveling to Ireland. Walking distance to 3Arena, EPIC, and the convention center. Walkable and surrounded by dining options. The room was great - quiet, comfortable, with a gorgeous balcony. The view was stunning, and the check out is noon - perfect for adjusting to a bit of jet lag. I will definitely be staying here.

Everything was wonderful

I stayed three nights at the Spencer with my adult daughter. I took the Dublin Express bus from the airport and it was fast and inexpensive. The bus stopped across the street from the hotel so very convenient. All the staff were great and accommodating and they lent us umbrellas on a day when it rained. The Luas was a two minute walk behind the hotel so very convenient to transit and get around to anywhere we wanted to go but we found it was not that far to walk either so we often just walked. It took us 17 minutes to walk from the hotel to Trinity College and it was an easy, flat walk.
We booked a basic room but found it to be very spacious with lots of natural light and a separate sitting area. Beds were extremely comfortable. I also liked being just a little outside the city/action as it was quieter at night. And there was a Tesco express a couple blocks away to get snacks and bottled water. I also feel the price was good for this level of accommodation. One of my daughters lives in Smithfield and I looked at the Maldron and the Hendrick. Neither are as nice as the Spencer yet they were both more $. So, overall, very happy with this choice and would definitely look at staying at the Spencer again

The family room was great! It was very spacious and clean. We loved the balcony, as well. The pool was great for the kids, although there were limited hours. Our room was very hot, and the manager confirmed that the heating system was broken, so we had to move rooms mid stay. He comped our breakfast one morning. We were able to easily walk everywhere and there are many dining options across the river.

Good hotel to stay in if you're attending 3Arena. Pool and gym facilities for Dublin Port area. Local carpark available for €25 for 24hrs. If you're not having breakfast at the hotel Gerard's Deli just over the bridge is lovely. Urban Brewery is also good for drinks and food.

Staff did not convey that the City marathon would block off the exit from the car park. I had to search for help to open the baracades so that I could get my car out. Feared I would miss my flight at the airport. The hotel offered no apology. Hotel bar was LOUD, could hear them on the first floor. Disappointing stay at best.
