Centrally located for us tourists. The front desk was usually staffed with one person. Took an unusually long time to get checked in. The day prior to our flight we requested a cab for the next morning. Fortunately for us, we followed up later in the day to confirm the cab. They had no record of our request. However a different person at the front desk did follow through with our request. Our cab was on time the next morning. Our room was clean and comfortable.

The property itself was clean and beautiful. We were lucky enough to upgrade our room for minimal cost and were greeted with an incredible view, spacious room, and we paid for the breakfast in advance. The breakfast was delicious and had a lot of choices.
My only suggestion would be to explain how the air conditioning worked before you give the room key because our room was over 30° Celsius when we walked in and we were unable to stay in it right away because it was too hot. We figured out how to get it to work on but it wasn’t easy. Advance instructions on this would have been a bit better. I do acknowledge that we arrived during a heat wave so it’s likely not a common issue.
All that being said I would 100% stay there again. The location is great and the property is amazing.

We stayed 3 nights and cleaners never replenished the toilet tissue and other items.

There's also insufficient lounge/lobby space in this hotel. The cafe space dominates the ground floor space (uncomfortable/closed) and the bar restaurant doesn't allow children unless eating (officially at least) and at all after a certain time.

Our stay at The Samuel Hotel was really nice. We stayed in Deluxe King rooms, we were a family of four with a 17 yr old & 19 yr old so booked 2 rooms. We had requested two rooms next to each other unfortunately they were unable to accommodate, the rooms were on different floors which wasn’t ideal. This was the only negative thing about our stay. The rooms were spacious & clean, beds were super King & really comfortable, in room amenities were really good & were replenished daily if used eg tea, coffee, water etc. with the rooms being Deluxe King you got a dressing gown & slippers included. One room was a corner room so was bright & had views of the city from both sides, which was really nice, downside was that the other room was on the inner side of the hotel which wasn’t has bright & had no views other than the other hotel rooms windows. You had a choice of a basic daily room clean, daily room clean with change of towels or daily room clean with change of towels & bedding. We purchased breakfast at time of booking which was delicious & there was a good selection to choose from too. We were leaving very early for our flights on our last day so they made up breakfast bags to take with us owing to not being there for breakfast which we had pre paid for. The staff were all very welcoming & helpful too. Cost wise, it was one of the more expensive hotels to stay in but well worth it for the extra comfort. Definitely would book there again if staying in Dublin.

The Samuel was just okay. The room was pretty big and the bathroom was a good size as well. The bed was weird... The frame was on wheels, which protruded from underneath, causing several toe stubbs. The air conditioning would just stop at random times. Overnight, while we were out of the room for the day, seemingly whenever. We only had our room cleaned once (by choice) over our 4 night stay. The beds weren't made up, they took our used towels, but then left only 2 hand towels and a bath mat (?). Fine, mistakes happen. But I called down for new towels and was told they'd be sent up \"right away\". One hour later, I called down again, to see if the towels were coming. The desk agent remembered my request, apologized, but offered no explanation for the delay. During our two conversations, I had to tell her my room number four times. Then, the towels came quickly. However, another hour later, at 11:15pm, we got a knock on the door from another person, bringing more towels... I have no idea what went on with this, but I was not overly happy to be woken up for a second towel delivery that I didn't need, two hours after the first request. I probably would not stay at this hotel again.

Nice location just 20-25 min walk or 10 min bus ride to the city centre.
Very modern hotel, rooms are spacious, water replenished daily. Nice toiletries in the bathroom.
Dinner in the hotel restaurant was lovely, more like a pub menu though.
Staff throughout were great!.
Would definitely stay here again

Building was modern and clean.

However, I asked if I could get a mini fridge put into the room. The staff said yes. The charge was €15.
I was ok with that.
However, the fridge was delivered to the room with a 2 pin power plug.
As all hotel sockets were for 3 pin plugs, I went down to the reception and told them that the fridge could not operate without an adaptor.
2 reception staff then said, you have to pay an extra €6 for the adaptor.
Personally, i think that's a bit ridiculous. Why charge visitors for the fridge that cannot be plugged in, and then follow up by charging them separately for the adaptor to make it eventually work?

Apart from this odd setup, the hotel stay was great. But I still am confused with the fridge situation. If management have an answer for this, I would be very curious about their reasoning for such a policy.

We were on our honeymoon and I tried to reach out to the hotel multiple times to help do something special. They didn’t respond until the day before and I requested the 40euro package they offered and once we showed up, there was nothing there. We were then placed in a handicapped room that did not offer an enclosed shower. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave. There was not a free breakfast which it seems most hotels in Europe do offer. And the worst part was the climate control does not go low nor does it stay on when it reaches the mediocre temperature. For what we paid for this room, I was severely disappointed.

This hotel is a newer one and nicely decorated. They don’t provide washcloths, which is something I knew to expect at many European hotels.the breakfast was good with a lot of options. My main issue was the hotel had super thick pillows. I had 6 different pillows in my room and they were all the same super thick and firm style. Thick pillows are great if you want to read in bed or are a back sleeper, but they kill your neck if you are a side or stomach sleeper. I couldn’t sleep at all the first night. For the second night I took a pillow out its case and put a towel inside it. I asked the front desk if they had any other pillows and they didn’t. It seemed like they had had some complaints from others about the thickness. All rooms have the same style. I wish hotels would add a bit of variety to the pillows or have a closet where you can swap out a pillow if it is too thick or thin.

If you’re thinking of staying here just don’t. The directions on the website for using public transport from the airport are incorrect. I ended up having to drag 80 pounds of luggage for 1.3 km. The staff acknowledged that their website directions are incorrect but didn’t apologize, or even offer to comp my breakfast. The hallways smelled heavily of disinfectant. The bed sheets had cigarette ash stains. The shower tile was covered in black mold, the sink wouldn’t drain, and the carpet stank of urine. I have photos. I ended up sleeping on top of the bed, not in it. I was too exhausted to go downstairs to the people who were so disinterested when I checked in. The pictures on the website showing beautiful views do not reflect reality, while it’s a safe enough area during the day with lots of workers present do not venture out alone at night. The Luas is right outside but you can’t access that service from the airport. If you do choose to stay here, opt for the expensive taxi ride from the airport, it’s safer and you won’t end up with your arm in a sling having wrenched your shoulder from dragging your luggage for so far. Any business can have a bad day, and that happens, but it’s how your employees handle the situation that matters most. The staff here need more training on and making things right.

The check in was very slow. When we arrived in our room and found the safe didn’t work we asked for someone to come a fix it. They came when we were out and it still didn’t work and we were the ones who had to contact the front desk to find out why it still didn’t work. Communication was not great with the front desk.

Our room was lovely; clean, bright and very roomy. We were very happy with the room. The staff at check in / check out were helpful and friendly. Our not great experience came with the bar / restaurant. We tried to get a drink and a light meal in the evening shortly after checking in (~5.30pm). We were told that as we had not booked the restaurant could not accommodate us for food. They did let us sit and take menus at the side area of the restaurant but no staff attended to us, They said they were busy with a nearby concert and this experience also happened to several other tables nearby we chatted with. Extremely disappointing as we were only looking for a sandwich/fries before heading out to visit the city. While I would stay here again I would never set foot in the restaurant or bar again due to the treatment by the staff.

The carpet in the room had visible dirt from a previous guest, that looked like it could have been cleaned before another guest used the room. We didn’t mention as only stayed one night, however, would have asked to change rooms if we were staying longer. Self checkin was good, however, when we had a question we found that one staff member stared at us while we waited for the second staff member to finish a phone call.

Have just spent 2 nights at The Samuel:
Positives: convenient for the 3Arena and getting into the centre of the city (a tram stop being outside the hotel).
Negatives: seemed understaffed and with a lack of attention to detail. Having checked in and gone to the room the first thing that my wife discovered was someone’s hair on her pillow.…not a great start!
We then went to make a hot drink only to find that we’d only been given 1 tea bag!. Perhaps they’d forgotten to replenish the supply but again, a lack of attention to detail.
On Saturday we went out all day and didn’t return to the hotel until 5:45pm. Upon our return we found that the housekeeping had only just reached our room. As we were pushed for time, having a dinner reservation in the city, we waited outside the room for the housekeeping to be completed. However, the bed wasn’t made, the tea/coffee/biscuits weren’t topped up, the face towels were taken from the bathroom but new ones weren’t provided and the bathroom amenities weren’t topped up.
There was a travel tour staying at the hotel and, with an event taking place at the 3Arena, the hotel was clearly busy. However, to still be cleaning guests rooms at close to 6pm is pretty poor going.
When we checked out on Sunday morning the receptionist took the key-cards and checked that there was nothing owing. She didn’t ask if we’d enjoyed our stay or even wish us a nice day.
We paid a lot to stay at the hotel and came away extremely underwhelmed.

Breakfast was brilliant. Plenty of fresh healthy options and set us up for the day ahead.
The hotel was just adjacent to transport links into town.
