今回3人での宿泊でしたのでメゾネットタイプを予約しました。
お部屋は十分な広さで、通りに面していたので向かいの旧三井銀行小樽支店の建物がよく見えとても良かったです。
夕方のフリーワインバーは、その日は富良野のワインを含めて3種類ありました。
朝食は、色々ちょっとずついただけて見た目にも大変満足しました。
ホテルの前の通りを東に進むと北一ガラスや六花亭、ルタオまで徒歩10分弱で行けるし、運河も歩いてすぐです。
3人あるいは4人で泊まるならまた利用したいです。

This is a really nice place. The building itself is architecturally wonderful.n As soon as you walk in there a calm vibe and the staff are really helpful and so nice. And that calmness permeates into their rooms. The room was clean, nice bed and the shower tub was a decent size. I highly recommend this place if you're in Otaru.

5/5. Super nice staff! Very friendly and serviceminded. Free wine tasting in the afternoon. A big selection of signature coctails. Breakfast was luxurious. The restaurant had great food at a reasonable price. The rooms was cosy.
The hotel building is historic and renovated with care.

Nice breakfast high tea style. Staff were very helpful. Stayed in the loft room for a family of 5. The loft was half height which was fun for the kids. Overall the room space was a bit tight but sufficient. Washing machine and dryers were pay per use.

There's a lot to like about the Unwind Hotel. The location is excellent as is the overall decor and atmosphere of the hotel. The service was prompt and very friendly. Even though we don't speak Japanese there were no problems. The restaurant was fantastic. In particular the breakfast that came with our room was like nothing I've experienced before. A variety of small dishes that were delicious. The free wine happy hour in the bar was a nice bonus. The room was a bit small, but that was expected and not unusual for Japan. The shower was one of the best I've encountered in Japan.

This was a lovely stay in Otaru. Pleasant staff and our room was unexpectedly ready early (rare in Hokkaido). The free wine in the lounge is a lovely perk. Rooms are small but functional with hot water showers. Could use a bit more storage in the bathroom, but we made it work. Staff are all friendly and the breakfasts were massive and delicious. Thanks for the great stay!

A quiet and peaceful hotel that has modern vibes. There is a free wine hour at the bar that I was able to get. It was really nice to hang out and have a glass of wine to wind down after venturing around and exploring. I also received a free drink ticket. The drinks were limited but I still appreciated getting this \"VIP\" experience. I loved the vibes of the hotel and my room was very nice.

Charming and wonderful hotel!

Charming and wonderful hotel. We stayed in a loft room, which was clean and had a great view. The parking was adjacent, and it was only a few minutes on foot to the canal and tourist attractions, which made my 80-year-old mother, who has mobility issues, very happy. The breakfast for my daughter with multiple allergies was also adjusted to her needs, which was a big help. The bar right as you enter had a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed local whiskies such as Yoichi, which can only be found there. The only issues were that the wall-projection TV was a bit confusing to use and the changing room was slightly cramped. We will definitely stay here again next time. Thank you for your hospitality.

My stay in unwind was very nice and amazed. Not only the room but the staff was really friendly and helpful. I forgot my stuffs in my previous hotel and Akita San from Unwind had provided me lots of help checking with previous hotels for the language barrier. I really appreciated it.

Fantastic location. We had to park our rental car in a pay lot across the street, but no big deal (no in-out allowed, but we were walking distance to everything we came to see). I had problems with the washer in the laundry room, but I think I might have overloaded the machine. The breakfast was delicious! Overall, I highly recommend it!

The room was small, but the high ceiling made it feel airy and pleasant. The fact that the toilet and bath were separate was excellent. Expedia states that Gold members may receive an upgrade if there's a room available, but the hotel claims they do not offer upgrades to Expedia gold members. I felt embarrassed asking for an upgrade.

小樽の中心街、歴史的建造物群の一角にある趣きのあるホテルです。エントランスやバーの雰囲気は落ち着きがあり、なかなか良かったです。専用駐車が狭く、満杯のため、横のコインパーキングに駐車しました(別料金)。残念だったのはTV画面が小さ過ぎてとても見づらかったです。17:00から併設バーでの道産ワインのサービスはなかなか良い計らいと思います。朝食は味も見た目も秀逸でした。

チェックイン時間前だったが、仕事をさせてもらえて助かった。スタッフさんが親切で、フリーワインも出てくるバーは心地よく、いいバーテンダーさんもいた。全体的に海外の洋館ふうで非日常感がたまらないが、水道の蛇口がやや使いづらいなど、機能性は少し落ちる。トイレとバスが　別なのは嬉しい。

Great stay in an amazing city

Amazing property in a beautiful town. We originally booked this property for our final stay in Hokkaido, however we wish we would have had more time to enjoy both the property and the surrounding area.

The property was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. They offered a morning breakfast or “high tea”, and even made a special vegetarian set. Overall the staff was so friendly and the location shouldn’t be missed.

Hotel is in a great location to enjoy Otaru, close to the train station as well as the light festival.

Pros:
- My room was very comfortable and attractive.
- Location is close to the canal and train station.
- Hotel is designed and decorated beautifully.
- Wine hour is a nice and has potential.

- Lack of customer service, staff is very cold, non communicative and business like.

Best hotel in Otaru

I absolutely enjoyed my stay here. Upon arrival, they offer a choice of beverage (apple tea, orange juice, etc)

In the room, they provide a handy with complimentary data. There was also an iphone dock and an iphone so you can listen to music or cast your show.

At night, they provided a complimentary glass of wine. You get to choose what kind. I tried the one produced in Otaru which was quite fruity. There a fireplace by the lobby so you can warm up.
Lobby smelled wonderful. They had a scent machine below the sofa.

Location of the hotel was also ideal as its near the Otaru Canal.

I also liked the body gel,it worked well in the bath unlike other gels jotels provide.

They also provided individual control for AC. A lot of hotels I stayed in Japan had centralized AC so you end up sweating.

Breakfast was also great served in a high tea set. Not as filling as Id hope but it was definitely a good experience. Make sure to try the milk - it was so creamy and tasty!

The only thing I didnt like were 1. Doors were swin in and out. Plus they were heavy. So its difficult especially with large luggage in tow. 2. They charge for extra bottled mineral water.

Overall its a very good hotel!
For the location: It’s only 2 min walk to the canal and about 10 min walk to KITAICHI glass factory
Check in/out staff: very nice but with limited English speaking ability, funny thing my wife speaks English as she replies in Japanese, luckily I understand limited Japanese.....
Room service/facility: clean and comfortable, but the temperature of the running water can go up suddenly. My wife got hurt when taking shower, and I almost got hurt if without warning.

Traveling through Hokkaido, this was easily my favorite hotel. Clean, modern (it is located in a historical building but it has been recently renovated) and stylish, it has decently sized rooms for Japanese standards. The location is really convenient for Otaru, letting you walk to all major places with no effort. The staff was prepared, kind and very professional. In short: I suggest it, stop here if you get the chance to visit Otaru.

I really like the room as it has got a massive bed, a sofa and a small table. I felt like I had the space not only to sleep over but also to sit down and sort out my stuff. The bathroom was really nice and clean too. The air-con was pretty strong so I would adjust the temperature before I went to bed. It's not a problem at all.

The staff were very helpful and they could generally communicate in English except one who I need to use Google Translate to type in my message and so as her. Otherwise I am very happy with my stay.

my family stayed in the room with loft style..for the loft we have to crawl to go to bed as the ceiling is low..not much space for luggage as we are a family of 5 adults..However it is okay for us as we stayed only for one night.My favourite is the brand of lotion provided,lavender and peppermint.

Having returned to Otaru for the 3rd time in 3 years, I decided to stay here as it was a new hotel. Being new, all facilities were kept in great shape and very clean. Carpets were still new with little to no stains, as were the walls and sheets. We stayed in the loft that accommodated 5 and although cramped, this is expected of hotels in Japan so it was not a problem. Having a \"indoor balcony\" was a nice touch and provided ample natural daylight into the room. I was very pleased with the service by all the staff from FO, to wait staff, to housekeeping. The bar in the lobby is cute, cool, and quaint and the free happy hour was definitely a nice touch which I barely arrived in time for. On site parking is available for a few and on a first come first serve basis. They have set the bar high for themselves and I would definitely come back again.

This place is a freaking palace, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Free wine downstairs between 5pm and 7pm though I’m more of a strong zero guy myself. The room comes with a phone and a projector and dimmable lighting. Free breakfast was so good too.

ダイニングのTHE BALLが定休日だったのが残念！あと朝食のハイティーは期待ほどではなかったので星1つ減です。
