Nice place, but not 4 star quality hotel. A/C is barely working. Felt like senior assisted living facility. Tiny pool, which used by individuals with skin problems, would never use it. A OK breakfast buffet, but I’d suggest to go somewhere else to eat. If you want to sleep at night, do not open the windows, it is loud. Other than that, it’s nice place to stay :-)

The stay was awesome. Room was perfect. Loved it. The only issue we had was with a rude hostess at the restaurant attached to the hotel. Maybe she had a bad day, but she was far from welcoming. Other then that, super.

We didnt like the older long hairedan at check in. Completely lazy, did not offer to help with bags or anything. If your bahs are heavy, good luck with the stairs if you get this man. Copied our passports for some reason too. Asked the other front desk help and they had no idea why, or where he put this vital info. And they charge for extras like hot water kettle to make in room coffee which there was none to begin with. The pillows were terrible so we asked for smaller pillows and they charged for delivery of these pillows that werent even smaller.. Bonus points for location only. Its a run down place for sure with no access to the room A/C. Its a set temp and not cool enough for July in Karlovy Vary. It was a heat wave! Stear clear, not worth the money.

Staff unavailable when calling reception !!!!!!! they don't even call back ! No coffee maker in the room and Breakfast don't start until 8 am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we had to leave at 5:30 am to catch our Bus back to Prague and I did mention it to the reception guy ( with better English ) the day before ! on the darling morning of our departure , a female receptionist with bare understanding of English and perhaps worst Desk skills tells me that I OWE over 5200 Koruna ( total cost of our stay)!!!! Even after repeatedly mentioning to her that the amount have been paid MONTHS ago view Hotel.ca she kept pointing to the stupid bill that she printed and requesting the total amount ! I showed her my internet hotel.com bill history and told her that the amount has been paid and she then proceed by saying that the amount is for stay and Spa ( minimal English / just saying \" you pay this amount & you used spa)!!!!!!! Frustrated , I told her that I was not going to wait all day for her to figure out her error and I had a bus to catch ( hoping she could understand ) and told her that I'm NOT going to repay her the money and left !!!!!!!! absolute disaster . DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!!!

I adored the old-world charm and friendly staff. I was just disappointed that the hotel didn't let us know beforehand that the pool was still closed for quarantine, since they were open for the rest of the country. That said, they worked to make up with for it with a fantastic breakfast from room service and really friendly service.

The Ambassador is excellent and I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. Great service, staff, Breakfast and location. The thing is their fitness facilities. The have only Elliptical and stationary bike. And that’s OK for me and serve the purpose. But the problem is the location. They were place in unventilated small area In front oxygen therapy room. No air conditioning and suggest strongly to them to put them in a bigger room that is ventilated and cool. Also to add small weight like dimples

During on business trip..

there's located a good place for visitors. however, you have to pay 8€ per a day,if you want to use parking lot in the hotel.
I got a feeling they don't like Guests to reserve by smartphone apps as Expedia and Hostels.com. they want to keep and like themselves traditional ways!!!

Avoid if you can!

There was no ac in their rooms, it’s only a ventilation. The reception were not even bother to ask if I enjoyed my stay. The bed sheets doesn’t get changed until it’s a 3 days old.
The breakfast if just a sad experience. Specially the eggs. To add to this, the hot water at the time I was there got mixed with coffee and the staff were acting as if it’s normal.

Great hotel - very very clean. Breakfast was really good. The service was good but at times could have been better (e.g. there is no ramp into hotel which was hard to access with buggy and luggage). Swimming pool was lovely and cool. Gym a little sparse. Otherwise excellent - thank you!

There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfasts were substantial and good but unremarkable. The hotel has a lively bar/cafe and seemed very popular with locals and tourists alike. On the whole the hotel had an odd Communist era feel about it - a bit faded and not as good as it could be.

Total dissapointment: never ever

1) We reserved Classic double room, but were charged for an upgraded room. We didn't ask for any upgrade, the room didn't have any upgrade facilities. Cheating!
2) by phone we got price of 5 € per day for parking. On arrival those 5 € became 9 €, again cheating
3) swimming pool is 11 meters long, but narrow metal through, connected to a canalisation. It was impossible to enjoy pool feeling smell of sewage
4) staff is rude
5) housekeeper - we asked her to come later, she didn't come at all, room was not cleaned.
6) \"junior suite\", for which we have paid supposes to have kettle as a basic facility. It was not there; was provided at extra cost.
7) we have permanent residence at Czech republic, and no any hotel within EU did never ask any other document except ID card. This was the only hotel, which required also international passports which we don't carry with us.

Nothing good at the hotel, except location.

Perfect place to stay in \"must-see\" Karlovy Vary! The spa treatments are reasonable & exactly what a weary traveler needs! Having the spa, pool, saunas in the hotel itself is convenient and enjoyable. The breakfast is delicious and served from 7-10 AM--longer than most B & Bs! I would give this place a 10 out of 10. Although it rained the 2 days we were there--we felt it was still a perfect stop on our Poland/Czech Republic tour!!!!!

Christmas in Karlovy Vary

The Ambassador is very well placed if you are arriving by bus or train as it is very close to both train stations, the bus station and a taxi rank. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very good value, well presented and comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent. The location is a short walk from the Tesla riverside promenades on which most of the spas are found. KV's small Christmas market was very closeby, and a steady walk upstream will bring you to the other local sights including, eventually, the Hotel Pupp and the funiculaire to the Diana viewpoint.

Not a place for a hot summer's day

The hotel is nice but the air conditioning system is inoperable or at best, weak. Our particular room was warmer than the outdoor environment of 28 degrees Celsius despite the fact that the AC in the room was set to it's limit at 21.5 C. We had to leave the windows open at night just to get some cool air in the room and get better sleep. We had called the reception desk twice and both times they told us that the AC was working at 100% and 21.5 C and they never bothered to send maintenance to take a look at it. Upon check out, we made another complaint and finally they said they will have someone to check it; a little too late for our comfort but hopefully the next guest didn't have the same problem.

No food after 10 pm

Unfortunately, the hotel was not in a position to serve any food after 10 pm (despite advertising availability of light snacks till 1am) and the staff was not able to point us to a restaurant or bar in the town, which would serve us food or snacks after 10 pm. There was no hotel manager available to deal with our request until the morning. We left disappointed (and hungry).

Great hotel and great location. Located near start of promenade which takes you past colonnades and ends at Grandhotel Pupp. Parking is not expensive but is located in back of hotel so there is a short walk from parking lot to hotel entrance, however there is a person whom will take your luggage from car to room and back. There are stairs from street to entrance and from lobby to elevator but there are no railings. This could create a bit of a safety issue. Staff is on top of everything and service is excellent. Breakfast and dinner are buffets. Food was good so we chose to eat dinner at the hotel buffet each night which was very reasonable. Street outside of hotel is pedestrian area only. There is a bank across the street and many stores and restaurants nearby.

Strongly recommended!

The hotel is simply fantastic. Arguably the best I've stayed at in its price category. We were lucky enough to get a corner room, which was probably 60m2 with very large bathroom and separate areas for TV, reading, sleeping. This is as close as a room can get to a suite.
The room comes with access to excellent sauna facilities and a small indoor pool.
The breakfast room opens into a very large theater hall (!!!), where staff set up tables for extra space. I found this, in particular, quite amazing.
WiFi is fast and free within the whole complex.
Book your room here: I cannot recommend it any stronger.

Horrible Service, but nice hotel

The service in this hotel was absolutely horrible.
1. The crazy housekeeper was yelling at us in the Sauna for taking a brown towel and not white. We did not know that the brown towels were \"only\" for the wellness center, even though the were in the Sauna changing rooms. I asked for the manager who came down and explained to her that I felt absolutely appalled that her staff was yelling at me when I was there to relax simply for taking a brown towel. She made me get up wrapped in towels to speak to the receptionist. And I did not appreciate that. I was there to relax, not to get yelled at for taking a brown towel that was in the Sauna closet. The manager came down and agreed that the towels were not clearly marked but that it was \"understood\" that brown towels are for the wellness center. Perhaps it was understood by staff, but definitely not indicated/marked for the customers. She asked if she can buy me a drink for the inconvenience. I informed her that the best thing she can do is fix customer service. I was not in need of a drink. I just wanted to be left alone and enjoy my vacation without getting yelled at by her staff.
The second issue we had was that we were not told I needed to pay for parking upon checkin. However, when we were checking out I was told that parking was extra. I again called for the manager and informed her that I did not mind paying for parking at all, however I should've been informed about these charges prior to check-in. That's fraud.

Hotel is freshly renovated and therefore ex- & interior is all new, clean, stylish. Location of the hotel was just perfect because of many restaurants around it but still a little off the tourist paths.
Size of the regular rooms is ok, bed was very comfortable, wifi working perfectly, bath (with shower) was clean and functional. Spa has 1 steam room, 2 saunas and a 11m (~36 feet) swimming pool with an integrated jacuzzi on one side. All new as well.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful so overall a perfect weekend!

L'hôtel est très bien situé en zone piétonne avec un parking. Très jolie déco de 1900. Chambre spacieuse avec lit extra double de 2 m. Propre confortable..lit un peu extra ferme.

Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel war schrecklich.
Das Hotel ist alt und schlecht renoviert. Das Personal war äußerst unfreundlich.
Das Zimmer war schmutzig, besonders das Badezimmer. Die Handtücher wurden nicht gewechselt, und nachdem ich darum gebeten hatte, hat niemand reagiert.
Im Bad roch es stark und unangenehm nach Abfluss.
Der Check-in und Check-Out haben sehr lange gedauert.

Waren ein Wochenende zu viert in dem Hotel. Frühstück war mittelmäßig, da es an Brötchen gefehlt hat. Obstsalat gab es aus der Dose. Im Frühstücksbereich geht es sehr eng her. Im Poolbereich war die Armatur der Dusche kaputt. Auch der Duschkopf könnte mal entkalkt werden.

Wir waren schon öfters in diesem Haus. Die Lage ist sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das einzige was uns diesmal gestört hat ist die Tatsache, dass man beim Frühstück gefühlt eine halbe Stunde braucht um einen Kaffee zu bekommen. Ein langsamer Automat für alle Gäste ist einfach zu wenig. Das kann man doch ändern. Ansonsten immer wieder gerne.

Klassisches Grandhotel; mondän, Erwartungen i.O.

Das Hotel liegt in einer verkehrsberuhigten Innerstadtzone und die direkt Zufahrt zum Hotel ist eigentlich nicht erlaubt. Wenn man den Weg via GPS eingibt, landet man dann aber ungewollt direkt vor dem Hotel, was zu polizeilichen Problemen führen kann...

Zentrales Hotel mit hostorischem Charme

Wir hatten einen guten Aufenthalt. Das Hotel ist in einem historischen Zustand. Die Austattung ist völlig in Ordnung. Betten und Bad waren neu. Das Frühstück war osteuropäisch. Es ist einfach, ausreichend und standard. Kaffee ist ausbaufähig.

Not very practical for handicaped persons.
No possibility to swim in pool before 9 a.m. as there is water gym going on.
We had problems with no hot water.
Caters to russians who empty the breakfast buffet.
Night porter who had no idea of dealing with persons nor service!
