It's a lovely property and the staff are very nice. They seemed a but overwhelmed (or short staffed). Our room wasn't serviced because they didn't arrive until very late in the day each day. By that time, we were in the room preparing for the evening. We just traded out our towels for fresh ones and got the trash emptied. That is all we really needed but it was a bit surprising in this hotel.

From Arrival at Car valet to check in to departure, it was not a good experience. The room smelled horrific like mold and mildew. The restaurant host had a terrible attitude and arrogant demeanour. We wanted to have dinner and breakfast on the property but the overall experience forced us not to want to wait and sought better dining off property. Such a shame. It otherwise could have been a great experience.

The Woodstock Inn & Resort is the quintessential New England inn. Walk in the lobby and you are greeted by a large warm fire. The staff at all levels were gracious and helpful. We were given a smaller room in a less desirable area than I had booked and paid in advance on Expedia. Clearly Expedia and the hotel had failed to handle my reservation correctly but they didn’t care. That was what they knew period. We also had a problem with our table in an empty gourmet restaurant being seated next to the noisy servers station when there were endless quieter tables available. Finally on departure they insisted on charging me for the $40 resort fee which I had already paid to Expedia. They didn t care and did not offer to shop it despite the room imbroglio we already had. Staff is in desperate need of hospitality training

The moment I stepped through the doors, I immediately felt a cozy, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was easy going and genuinely friendly. The whole town feels like that. If you need a time out, far away from the worldly troubles, this is the place to go. Head on over to the SPA which is absolutely fabulous!

The room was comfortable and spacious. The food was expensive but well worth the cost. The indoor pool/steam room/sauna were at a different location about 2 miles away, but there was a shuttle to take you there. The spa services and staff were amazing.
Two things to note....2 Vermont taxes for EACH night totaling almost $100 for 3 nights. $104 room service fee. Resort fee. Where does it stop? And the resort appears to be very busy on the weekends. If we were to go back, it would be during the week.
