In need of a refurbishment. Old and dated. Staff were good b buht room was horrendous. Was suupposed to be an upgraded room but was a mess. No outside window but a tiny balcony opened into the bar next door. So bad they moved me to the Okay Palace next door which wasnt much better

Great hotel. Had the unfortunate incident where hotel staff allowed a group of young men to play their boom box at the pool and later at the pool side restaurant. Very unfortunate as it put a damper on an otherwise wonderful time. Shame on you management!

A fire risk hotel.

This hotel may look lovely, Now just think if there was a fire. No fire alarm system in this hotel, So no smoke detectors anywhere in this hotel, No fire sprinkler system anywhere in this hotel. No red break glass to raise the alarm of a fire in this hotel. No thing was a single fire extinguisher on each level of this 14 floor building. Room, lobby and hallways are full of wood and clutter. Now, Just think before booking. If, god forbid, there was a fire how would you escape? With no audible fire alarm system and the hotel is narrow and tall. Not even a fire escape plan in any room. This dated hotel is in despirate need of a safety review and is not in good condition anymore. Just look at any photos of this place. Nothing to protect life in the event of a fire.
People will give this place 8/10 or 10/10 but they have not taken the safety into account.

If you have no problem staying in accommodation without fire safety, then go ahead and book. And download the pass app for cheaper taxis. Breakfast is very poor as its all mix and match. Better off eating out. Ive stayed in some real bad places and never left a review but this place is the worst so far.

Hotel was in a good location. Nice clean rooms. Tho only problem I had was that there was no hot water they moved me from my first room to another room on a different. Floor but it was still the same no hot water. Was told to leave it running for 10 minuets. But it was to no avail. But apart from that it’s a great hotel. Would stay there again.

Hotel was average for the price, nice pool and views but could have been cleaner and I was prepared to give a half decent review. However, the issue came when money was stolen from our room. The attitude of the staff was disgusting, suggesting we had spent the money ourselves, and refusing to call the police because they \"didn't know the number\". We were allowed to see security footage... At approximately 5 times real time, this would have taken hours. It felt like the staff were laughing at us rather than showing any sympathy and I felt totally unsafe that the room could be accessed like that as I was travelling alone for the start of my stay. All staff we spoke too kept repeating the line \"this has never happened before\" which makes me in pretty sure that is not the case.

Great location as it is close to the riverside and palace. Kind and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet had many options and our kids loved it. Reasonably priced. Unfortunately the pool caused most of us to get very itchy. We would stay there again if we don’t plan on swimming.

Nice hotel with nice rooms. The woodwork everywhere in the hotel is amazing. Ask for a room on the 6th floor or higher for better light. My only complaint was the air condition blew cold air directly on the beds instead of an indirect flow.

Okay hotel is an older hotel that features Khmer woodwork and carvings throughout. Our 1st room was spacious with a great view of the Palace. Unfortunately, we were woken up at 1:00 AM by a loud screeching noise from the wall mounted air conditioner and a large pool of water on the floor underneath it. Staff promptly changed our room to a comparable room.
Pool is small and loungers get occupied quickly. Temperature is great! Towels at the pool and rooms are thin and have seen better days. When they say slippers, they mean rubber flip flops, not house slippers.
Breakfast is okay. Coffee could be better. Best thing is the staff and the central location close to all the tourist sites.

Staying at the hotel is like living in a jewellery box, all the ornate gleaming wood and old world charm. The rooftop pool is a wonderful respite from the business of the city but it is difficult to get a space. Some reception staff were quite brusque at times and there seemed to be a sense of inflexibility and that they didn’t enjoy their job. Apart from that, the hotel was lovely.

Sewer smell in bathroom, yucky towels were like rags, sink backed up every time we used it, and no response to our request to fix it. Bathroom was untidy. Garbage in street across from hotel was piled up and picked through and left an awful smell.

We saw several other hotels in area that were much nicer.

The location is probably the best thing about this place.
Everything else was a huge disappointment for me.
First of all, my questions in e-mails were never answered prior to my arrival.
I arrived at 9pm to check-in, tired after a long day and I was told that I had to wait 15 min because my room wasn't ready. At 9pm!! I said this is unacceptable as checking in opens at 2pm. I got some lame excuse but I insisted that I needed my room. The lady said OK, I could go soon. As I finally entered the room, a handful of mosquitoes surrounded me and got 5 bits in about 3 minutes. I went down to reception to complain. Instead of offering a different room, maintenance arrived with a Raid! spray and sprayed my room full so I had to leave for a while. When I finally got into bed, I noticed that one of the pillows had patches on. I checked the others that had short, black hair on them. I was shocked but too tired to go down again to complain. Let's not forget that it's coronavirus period and it's highly likely that I was given a bed with dirty bedsheet!!! I just threw all the pillows on the floor, got my towel under my head and had a broken night's sleep. I complained in the morning and instead of an explanation, they thanked me for my concerns. The mosquitoes stayed for the whole time, bothering and biting me while trying to sleep. Adding to that, the reception had zero control over noisy, drunk guests returning in the middle of the night that kept me awake between 1-2am.Not recommended.

Food is good especially the banana bread. However, breakfast was always served late. Breakfast starts at 6:30 am but when I went there at 6:30, no food ready ...they were just starting putting the food and sweeping the floor and arranging the tables. If it is 6:30, food must be ready because other customers go out early. The personnel should at least give a SMILE to the customers. They were too serious.

Loved the breakfast and restaurant decor, views and lovely breeze. Pool deck was also beautiful to refresh in the afternoons.
Room was OK, but there was an extremely foul sewer smell coming from the toilet they sprayed down the drain and it improved but worse the next morning. Finally they moved us to another room.
Location was good and quiet and walkable to everything.

This property had signs up showing how to properly accept a hooker. It was super dirty. Ceiling leaking in room. Bed sheets stained and with hair. They wouldn’t give refund and only wanted to move room. No thanks. I finally demanded refund after showing them photos and they complied. I wouldn’t stay here unless truly prepared.

The entrance and the reception of the hotel is beautiful. The staff are very polite and extremely helpful. The girl at the information desk helped me set up my van service to Ratanakiri.

The on-site spa service was great and the restaurant had decent food.

However, the room itself reflected the price I paid for, so no comments there. It did have a balcony and the view of the Royal Palace.

I traveled solo and it felt safe. It was a family-friendly hotel.

Rooms don't match pictures posted by management

We didn't even stay the night after check in. We packed our bags, found another hotel and moved ASAP.

The rooms are dingy, substandard and do not match the pictures on social media posted by the hotel management. The hotel should post more real pictures to avoid tricking guests into booking and being shocked on arrival.

The hotel was beautiful.- one of the loveliest in which I have stayed. The rooms were spacious. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Pool was small but kept very clean. The cadre of tuktuk drivers were always available, friendly, and economical. The hotel staff were very gracious and helpful. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the restaurant did not come up to the same level of quality as the rest of the hotel. The food was mediocre, more expensive than quality restaurants nearby, and the staff was less than welcoming. The hotel is on a small side street/court yard. Tuktuk drivers other than the hotel squad had a difficult time finding it.

Firstly, though I had paid for and reserved the room at Okay Boutique Hotel, when I landed at the hotel, I was told that they have run out of rooms. And all the while I was waiting at the reception, they were continuing to check-in people who came in after me. Of course, the difference was that they were all white which led me to believe that I was second priority to them (being an Indian and not European or American). When I asked how they were checking them in, he said oh you are single and you can go to the other hotel. When I argued, the check-in person and later the hotel owner I spoke to was quite rude and said they will refund the money if I have a problem. I had no choice since it was already late in the evening and running around with my luggage trying to find a hotel was not on my list.
The question here is not the refund but to give me the services for which I had paid for. The hotel was ok, breakfast was bad, the service at breakfast was terrible.

Being a single traveller and a woman, the idea of booking through Expedia is that I do not land up in a new country with no place to stay. I think Expedia also owes me an explanation as to why such properties are on their portal and they have to let clients know very clearly that the rooms are not guaranteed and they should not accept the booking with full payment and leave us in the hands of such unprofessional people.
Hence for any people trying to look at the hotel, if you are white-ok, but others-beware!!

I did not expect this hotel to be nearly as nice as it was- especially for the money. It is located in a small alley, away from all the craziness of the Phnom Penh streets. Both the exterior and interior of the hotel are covered in elaborate luxury wood carvings. The same goes for the room-

I liked the entrance and pool. I thought the breakfast venue has a great view of the city. I liked the location. The staff were also helpful and polite.
My main issue with this hotel was being assigned an inferior room when I checked in as the aircon was not working and the electronic safe was broken. The room is located on the 12th floor next to the pump room and is noisy. The main door to the room uses a key unlike the electronic cards for other rooms. This room is next to the massage parlour too and is inappropriate for guests. Avoid room 1204 if offered.
We were moved eventually, but after a long flight, this was not a good impression.

I was disappointed with this property. The lobby is pleasant and the pool and rooftop bar are very good. The location is excellent. The staff are polite and friendly and jolly but not the most efficient

Great hotel, with helpful staff both before our during our stay. Traditional Asian breakfast, with an egg station, fruit and pancakes was delicious.
Pool was great. We only used the restaurant once, this was delicious and at a very reasonable cost.
We went on the okay boat trip, which was a dollar for transport and you only payed for food and drink consumed on the boat, which was only the same price as the local eateries, so in real terms, it was free.
My only gripe would be the tuk tuk drivers wanting to charge you double the amount of what it should cost and then give you grief for using “Grab”, if there prices were reasonable without all the bartering hassle, we would have used them every time.
But all in all, a great hotel.

This place is awesome!

I was quizzical about the name, the 'Okay Hotel', but its fantastic: they should rename it! Like living in a museum, all authentic Cambodian style. Never seen anything like it, but loved it! Service was great, they helped me out a couple of times and upgraded the room. Food was really good, happy hour round the pool was a little odd, but the view from the pool is awesome! I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. It is very popular and very busy, perhaps no surprise. In fact I liked it so much I extended my stay!

Really great hotel. The room was very spacious and the shower was great and plenty of hot water. We have been in other hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia and this has been the best one we stayed in. There were also prices in the hotel room for Tuk Tuks which were very reasonable. Perfect location walking distance to everywhere in the city centre.

Loved the entrance and lobby and dining room , exceptional! Unique traditional wooden carved decorative area as well as the furniture in the rooms, very special! Staff always smiling and helpful. Great view of Palace from room. Sadly, bathrooms smell badly( some not as bad as others) . Had to request room change ( from room 1201, read previous reviews of this room! On Booking. Com as well) This happened no problem including an upgrade due to unbearable smell. Also no hot water ( read previous reviews on other booking sites , seems to be ongoing problem, shouldn’t be 4 star if this is the case) . Also renovation work being carried out in lift area outside spa (& room 1201)on our arrival in afternoon & still on our return from dinner the first night so we had to step over buckets& furniture to get to room ( they’ve shouldn’t have put anyone in room 1201 for these 2 reasons)

Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The pool was amazing and reliable tuk tuk drivers are on sight through the hotel. Breakfast buffet was always lovely. Beds weren’t bad, but the bathroom was awful. Tub didn’t drain and there was no shower curtain which cause a lot of water to remain on the floor. Hotel is close to a lot of things, but neighborhood was not very clean. Main piece of advice is DO NOT GET A MASSAGE. Sketchy and not worth the price. The massagers talked and yawned the entire hour. They did not know what the were doing. Overall, I would return because it’s more than what I expected for the affordable cost.

Okay hotel is very nice and the customer service is excellent. It is a very beautifully decorated hotel, Cambodian style, the rooms are really clean and very comfortable, the bathroom was big. The food is excellent, it is extremely well located. The swimming pool on the top floor below the starts is very agreeable. It was so nice to relax at the pool and have and dink followed by a lovely dinner at the pool restaurant every night. The hotel is located in center town a really busy area, it is very interesting but nevertheless the hotel is very calm. The breakfast is really nice, a is a big and delicious buffet. The spa center offers excellent massage. It is a wonderful place to stay in Phnom pen. I recommend Okay Hotel without hesitation.

The hotel is situated down a very small side street. Surrounding area is not pleasant. National museum and the Royal Palace are close but next time I’d stay a little further out as it is much cleaner and the hotel rooms better and the staff more professional. Quality of the rooms was poor and the towels old and not what is expected of a 4* hotel. Look around and you’ll get much better hotels within 0.5 miles.

Hotel with large rooms next to the royal palace

Rooms are quite large but dimly lit and ours smelled like smoke. Hallways smelled like chemicals and paint. Overall it’s fine but probably not worth the price (35 usd) we paid. Area around the hotel was not very walkable but this seems to be a fact of Phnom Penh in general. Staff was friendly.

The check in staff was horrible. Most hotels allow 2 keys, this one only gave us one. When we asked for the second one, the check in girl just went back to her desk and let us wait till we asked her what was going on... she simply responded she was too busy. Another girl told us that she’ll give us another key later... we never saw it. I don’t recommend anyone to come here.

The local Cambodian staff of the Okay Boutique hotel was friendly, smiling and nice. It is unfortunate however that the aging and slip shod property itself isn’t in the same league as it’s staff. Little or no effective air conditioning and no hot water in the mornings make this hotel a no go for me. Also, the hotel’s bizarre policy of requiring guests to go barefoot in the dining room is not only unique in my travels but highly unhealthy in the tropics. Any guide to Southeast Asia will list the many diseases you can contract from going barefoot. Additionally, just the greasy feeling of the unsanitary wood floor in the dining room on my feet forced me to skip breakfasts in this hotel.

The hotel is very unique. Lots of carved wood, not your cookie cutter hotel. The bad part was no hot water for showers, no face clothes, no hand towels until the last day, no shower curtain, no kleenex, very poorly lit, roof top pool closed for renovations, breakfast was below average, was charged double the price of a hotel transfer from the airport than was listed in the hotel binder. Outside the hotel were tuk tuk drivers that constantly bothered you to hire them. I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed for a week in a Premier Twin room with a large balcony looking over the local neighbourhood. We could also see the Royal Palace from one of the many windows.
The room is spacious, bright and clean. The bathroom is also very big with all the amenities. The furnishing is delightfully old fashioned; the beds are comfortable and the timber floor is just great. The daily servicing of the room is more than adequate.
The buffet breakfast is very good with lots of Asian and Western choices. Delicious Cambodian mango is served every day.
The hotel has a beautiful rooftop swimming pool and an even more spectacular lobby.
The staff are unfailingly courteous and helpful.
We will definitely stay here again when we are next in Phnom Penh.

Balcony for smokers a plus. TV in strange locations high up on wall. Buffet breakfast extensive if unimaginative. Staff very pleasant and eager to please but didn't seem up to the task performed. Language seemed to be a serious problem here. Broken tiles in pool.

The natural wood theme.. and the reception area is quite well decorated. The rooms are kept clean. The breakfast is good although it could have been better if the food items are labelled especially for people like me who are on special diet.

Thought the property was quite tired. There were a lot of broken tiles in the pool. The bar prices at the pool were expensive but the mini-bar in the room was reasonable, which I could not fathom why the bar should be more than the mini-bar in the room. The bathroom left a lot to be desired with a concrete bath which had cracks and a little bit of moss inside. There was an over the bath shower and a curtain rail but no shower curtain???

A Charming Oasis in Phnom Penh.

OKAY Boutique Hotel is still a well run 'oasis' in a great location in Phnom Penh. This was my 5 stay there and it just keeps impressing - lead by Neang who manages the reception. Great customer service every time. The bar and restaurant staff are always smiling!
No wonder it is sold out on many nights.

The hotel is aptly named as it is just OK. Hotel location is very good. The breakfast had a wide selection including egg to order station. The rooftop pool offers a good view and the room was spacious, although the whole property is quite dated. Also, there were property wide power outages for 9 out of 10 days we stayed there (no lifts, AC, WiFi or lights). In one case the blackout lasted more than 3hrs.

Finally, I highly recommend you DO NOT book anything through the Okay tour company in the hotel lobby. We purchased bus tickets to Siam Reap from them and were promised express bus with toilets for the price point we paid. Instead we were put on the local’s bus, no toilet, which proceeded to stop at every village along the route.

All things considered, we will not stay here again.

A lot of old world Cambodian vibe. Breakfast was excellent. Check out was slow and when driver came to collect me he was told I had checked out but it didn’t occur to staff that I was waiting in reception area. Very poor form.

Everything was great except the spa. From the time I arrived until the day it was a bad experience. No customer appreciation, not friendly, I had a noisy fan blowing on my body the entire time and they tried to rip me off when it came time to pay. Published price $20 and I was charged $25. Bye bye tip. Get rid of the spa company and you have a terrific hotel.

The room was very clean, comfortable & we had a small balcony which we could see the Royal Palace. The hotel itself is situated walking distance to the river & lots of restaurants, unfortunately the traffic right in the city made it hard to get around. Would definitely stay here again.

Off to a rocky start at check in but since then I can’t say enough about this place. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The cook upstairs in wonderful and makes delicious meals...lots of food! The room is big, bright, quiet. Would definitely come back and stay here again.

As the name suggests, it was “Okay” Front lobby is charming and location is good, close to the Palace and river. It just seemed a bit run down. The roof top pool needs repair as there are many tiles broken and missing. The room was ok, the bedside lamp didn’t work and the bed was too firm for me. But if you are in Phnom Penh for a day or two it is fine as the price is right.

A beautiful gem in the heart of Pnom Penh

This is a beautiful Old World hotel with a traditionally decorated Lobby including hand-carved Khmer wooden furnishings and walls. The rooftop pool was well-maintained and had sweeping views of the Royal Palace and the riverfront. My room was large, well decorated and as an added bonus my balcony Overlook the Royal Palace.
I would rate this hotel a 5 except I was overbooked on arrival and was moved to another Hotel for my first night. I then had some issues with the front desk trying to move me to another room after one night. In the end it was all resolved and I would book here again and consider it a highlight of my trip to the city.

The hotel is in a good location, but it needs an upgrade. The pool is nice and the staff is friendly, but it is very dark and dreary. The morning breakfast is decent and has nice options. Depending on the price you receive, it is ok.

A great stay at Okay Boutique

Wonderful wood carved foyer detailing was one of the reasons for booking this hotel and it didn’t disappoint in person. A real Cambodian feel and entirely different for my two young sons.
Triiple room was comfortable, clean and spacious although they couldn’t remember that there were three of us so we kept having to ask for that extra towel.
Did the complimentary cruise (you have to pay $1USDp/p for the transport down to the boat) along the river which was just wonderful, although sadly not many hotel guests used this service as it was very quiet.
Breakfast was varied and delicious. Packed each morning during this peak season but the staff were quick to replenish the food.
As the hotel was busy that might explain the luke warm shower we had each morning!
Hotel is well within walking distance of the National Museum, Royal Palace, the social enterprise restaurant Friends and also the luscious Bodia Spa. Tuk tuk drivers are always outside the hotel if you are traveling further, although beware that they and the hotel are charging much higher rates per journey than the norm. A tuk tuk within the city should cost $2 flat rate. The woman at hotel information either didn’t know the price for a tuk tuk (?!) or said that it would be $4-5USD to take us to our next booker hotel in Phnom Pen. It was $2.

Great Place.

Great little boutique hotel. Bathroom was smelly when we first got in. And bathtub/shower needed proper cleaning. Otherwise- room was spacious, great air conditioning. Restaurant serves good food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is the best. Within walking distance to a lot of attractions. Definitely recommend.
