Smelled of sewerage, woke up 6:30 unable to get rid of the rancid smell. Moved rooms the next morning as was good location and beds were really comfy moved us straight away but smell occurred again so we left immediately. Breakfast was poor for price. Staff were ok but nobody apologised for smell or seemed shocked. Should not have booked after reading last review. Won’t return.

The property is situated in the middle of the night life center. Very convenient to walk. Excellent Restaurants around like La Croisette. Stores to buy whatever you need. A skybar on the 12th floor gives you a beautiful view over the Mekong River. The night clubs are easily reachable by tuktuk within a few minutes.

The hotel has redemeed themselves this time. In a previous review I said I would never come back. I decided to give them another try. This time everything worked out. I had extended my stay for two days so had two separate bookings.

The first room was nice. I was given a room upgrade so I was in the Junior Suite. The room was on a high floor and had a nice view. The breakfast is decent for a small hotel and was not busy. I found the staff to be helpful and polite.

My second room was a Junior Suite as well. I ask to change rooms after the first day as the bathroom had a bad sewer smell coming from the pipes. It was on a lower floor and had a window, but you were too low and were looking at another building about 1m away. My new room was on the 6th floor and was much better.

This stay was much better and I would come back again.

The photo of the room showed a window. No window and claustrophobic. Outfront big sign saying roof bar on 12th floor. There was on only one nite a staff person there. The sky lounge was good for sunset viewing but hardly a sky bar and no real lounge are in lobby. Very disappointing in comparison to the photo etc advertising the room. It was on the street with mainly girlie bars.

Terrible Experience - Cannot Recommend!

I can say this booking was awful and put quite a damper on our trip to Phnom Penh for the New Year's holiday. Hotel was booked in advance with confirmation number only to arrive at hotel and be told no room was available for us. Was told a water problem with the room. Said they tried to contact us, but didn't happen. No email. No phone call. Nothing. Point Boutique moved us to another hotel owned by same owner. Before agreeing to move I asked if the room was as good as what I booked. I was told it was but when we arrived to the new hotel, the was not anything like what I booked. We had booked a high floor King Twin suite with a balcony (large room) and the new hotel was a small, interior twin room. Not even a frickin' window. Talk about feeling claustrophobic. Breakfast at new hotel was not a buffet with very limited choices and the location was not near the riverfront, which was the purpose for booking Point Boutique. We wanted to be right by the riverside so we didn't have to take a tuk-tuk everywhere. Needless to say I'm quite angry with this whole experience and cannot recommend this hotel after this experience. Ugh!!!

I got non smoking room but could smell lots of smoke coming from other rooms. Staff was nice and room was clean with very comfortable bed. Small room with no desk. Did I say small room. Over all it was clean and comfortable in great location. Nice small buffet breakfast but only available if you can get there before 10am.

Great stay, great location

We stayed in room 1001 for 5 nights and totally loved our stay with Point Boutique! Very comfortable room with nice view of river on one side of window and local street on the other. Hotel is just steps from the riverfront with many cafes and restaurants. Walking distance to many surrounding places of interest. Buffet breakfast was good. They put in effort to change the Asian dishes every morning and we actually get to try different food everyday throughout our 5 nights of stay, very thoughtful. Front desk service was wonderful, very helpful staff.

Did not clean the room

I stayed here before and had a good experience which is why I decided to come back again. This time was not as good due to the lack of room cleaning.

I stayed three nights and the room was not cleaned once. After the first day I asked the reception staff to make sure the room was cleaned for the next day. When I came back to the hotel I found it was not cleaned again despite being assured by the staff that it would be. I asked if I could at least get a clean towel and the staff explained that the hotel was fully booked and there were no extra towels.

I was unable to speak with the manager as he was not there during check out even though I told the reception staff the night before that I wanted to speak with him. I am interested to read their response to see if they somehow blame this on me. I paid for a service and they did not deliver. I will not come back to this hotel.

2nd visit to point boutique. need minor touch up. toilet drain clogged (complaint & solved on the same day). stains on bedsheet & comforter. ants at wardrobe & coffee/kettle set. room keeping didnt replenish drinking water. simple buffet breakfast. very helpful staff, helped us to contact the transport provider as the driver didnt turn up on time and didnt pick up calls, and solved the clog problem promptly.

Nice hotel in the best part of time, but issues

The room was nice and very confortable, however cleanliness issues made the stay less than acceptable.

Our (non smoking) room was heavily smoked in by previous guest, we checked in 6 pm so was plenty of time to ventilate it prior delivery. Staff looked surprised at my demand that it should be changed or cleaned. None happened, only a floral spray applied. To avoid sleeping in a (now) smoking funeral parlour we had to open windows, it was 38 centigrades!

The floor bathroom sink was not cleaned nor serviced. A serious stink entered regularly. Given the floral spray approach aplied earlier we decided to live with it.

Towels were clean, but no softener and sun dryed = very very hard.

Fresh paint at reception is needed too. Breakfast was ok.

The most tiniest of rooms imaginable. Barely enough space for a bed. Where to put your luggage. Worse still the room is underpowered leaving dark spots. Tiny bathroom. Water overflows every where. Fridge that did not cool. Exceddingly bad value for money.

My husband and I chose this hotel based on the positive reviews we read. After a long journey from Siem Reap we arrived tired in the late afternoon. We reserved a non-smoking superior room. When we got it the place smelled like an ashtray and had no window. We requested a room change and they put us on the 12 floor non smoking room with a window. The room was very hot but we figured it would cool down with the a/c after the sun went down. Not so. The a/c never cooled the room down. By this time it was late at night and there was no one at the front desk. We spent a miserable night sweating on a sticky bed. To make matters worse, we asked the hotel to book us bus tickets to Kampot early the next morning. We're were charged $12 each for tickets listed at $8 each. After looking up the bus company we learned that they had poor ratings and a dangerous safety record. I requested a refund from the hotel for the bus tickets and a rebooking with a better company. They refused and laughed at me! OK. I cut my losses and booked new bus tickets myself. Live and learn.

Right oppposite a Halal cambodia restaurant and short walk to night market.Breakfast spread is good to start a day. Only set back of this hotel is acon. Not cool. Even after my complaint they said they will see to it but still no improvement. The next street is full of bars.

Great small hotel

A nice place near the river and nightlife as well. I had a superior room which had no windows (which I like as it cuts down on noise) The only issue was the mini bar fridge had been off for a long time and was essentially useless. That being said, I would definitely stay there again for price, location and friendliness of the staff.

A great hotel, close to all bars, restaurants, markets and events, Tuk-Tuk drivers working for the hotel all very nice and rates very reasonable. Only down point about the room was no where to sit this is due to the small room but great price as you dont spend alot of time there, breakfast included gives you a great start to the day.
Down side the rooms are very small, nowhere to unpack anything from your bag or hang anything. There may have been bigger rooms unsure on this, but we got by with little trouble in the smaller room

Ant infestation

I was first put in room that was infested with ants! They were all over the walls, in the sink, and even INSIDE the bed! I immediately asked to be put in a different room. The ant problem was not as bad in the second room, but definitely still bad. When I woke up there were ants on the bed and crawling all over my bag! The room also smelled HEAVILY of smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room.

I booked two nights here but couldn't bear to stay another. I asked the manager for a refund on my second night, and he said he would contact Expedia to arrange a refund. Well, I haven't heard from the hotel yet. I've been emailing the hotel constantly for an update regarding the refund and haven't gotten a single reply! I would never stay here again and would never recommend it to any travelers.

A Wonderful Experience

Is a beautiful small Boutique Hotel with great decor and well located. It is steps away from the Bay, around the corner from amazing restaurants and walking distance from the major Temples and Royal Palace. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. They provided a wonderful buffet breakfast that I really enjoyed. The staff was really kind and helpful. And the service over all outstanding.
The manager went completely out of his way to help me when I left a ring in the room after check out and sent it to me to Siem Reap where i was staying. He personally email me several times to help me and to make sure I received it safely. I am a Travel Blogger and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. I can assure you that service like this is not common. Service like this comes from the heart.

Tourist area of Phnom Penh

This was an interesting experience. First, there is not a swimming pool. The pool is in the hotel next door, although it looks like it is part of the hotel, because of the hotel's small width.

The hotel is roughly 20 feet wide by 100 feet long (a guestimate). The building is 12 stories tall. Each floor, besides the lobby on the first floor, restaurant on the 2nd floor and balcony bar on the 12th, has 3 hotel rooms. There is a big room facing the street, the elevator, stairwell, a small room and then another big room in the back.

I opted for the small room. There was no window and the room itself was probably 12x12, with a bathroom about 12x5. I am used to small hotel rooms in Europe, but this was a first in Asia.

Needless to say, I had never been in an hotel so narrow before.

However, all that being said, the room itself was incredibly comfortable, the toiletries were great, as was the hot water and extremely comfortable bed. The huge LCD screen and excellent wifi were also great pluses.

The complimentary breakfast was standard Asian fare, which is to say it was great.

Overall, I would definitely stay again, but probably opt for a front or back room, not the center room.

Nice clean new hotel with rooftop bar.

Very nice hotel I was place down on the 1st floor which as very convenient. They had a rooftop bar with spectacular views of PP and a free breakfast buffet which I missed most days because I slept in but it was great when I made it. Overall great hotel and I'll definitely be back there when I return to the kingdom.

This hotel is located conveniently close to the water front, bars, restaurants and the Royal Palace. It is also a short tuk tuk ride to the Central Market, western style Aeon mall and other historical areas of Phnom Penh. The price is great and the staff is even better. The rooftop bar offer great view of the city skyline and the drinks are cheap. The staff is courteous and very nice.

The hotel is very well located and is only 50 m from the riverside. The manager is excellent and staff very willing though a few have some difficulties with English. Being a new hotel bathrooms and aircon for example were modern and worked well. I would definitely stay there again.

Bad Part Of Town

Nice, clean hotel in a very dirty neighborhood. There was a homeless family consisting of two adults, three kids, and an infant living on the street corner to the riverfront. We saw an young boy, about 8-years old, defecate into a plastic bag in broad daylight in view of everybody. Garbage is heaped on the sidewalk.

There are many bars located on the street as this hotel that cater to single, western men. There are hookers galore right outside the hotel...

Excellent hotel with just a couple issues

This is a great value hotel and with a if they could work out a few quirks, it could be a 5 rating. There's a really nice rooftop balcony with bar and a great view of the city. The rooms are an excellent value in general. One thing to note is that in Cambodia plenty of hotels in this price range ($50~ish) still have beds as hard and stiff as straw bales. Not this hotel. The beds have nice mattresses, quite comfortable.

There was one big exception as far as cleanliness: my room had a lot of ants. They need to take care of the ant infestation. They tried once when I asked but it didn't do much. I don't know, maybe they killed a few of them but there were ants crawling on the tables everywhere and floor. I don't want to make it sound worse than it was. It was annoying but the ants were the harmless tiny variety and there none in the bed.

Another issue was the TV had terrible picture quality initially. I asked them to fix it and they were able to fix some channels but not all and it would sort zag back to crappy quality at times again too. This almost exclusively affected the English speaking channels.

Final thing: the hotel is right next to a big slum at the corner where there are, at any given time of day or night, at least a dozen street people, begging, arguing or just doing whatever poor homeless people. It's a real eyesore. And you'll see it every time you walk out of your hotel and turn to the right. Overall a very good value hotel.

The Point...

The good- great location, wonderful roof top with probably best view in the city, decent breakfast, friendly staff.
The bad- we first got a supreme room- they have no windows, which made for a very stuffy room even with the AC blasting. There was only one sleeping pillow (the other two were decorative) and we could constantly hear the elevator chime so it was loud. We asked to move to a different room and were asked to pay $15 for this new room. When we saw the room - the only difference was a tiny window. We eventually talked them down. Everything was wonderful at first, until the bathroom started to smell, as a result of the plumbing... The area while central is also on the same street as all the girly bars so is a bit seedy.
Overall, you might find better options if you shop around, but if you are willing to take the good with the bad then go for it.

This is a very nice hotel -- about the same level you'd see in a Motel 6 in the US, but in Cambodia.
Staff were great, though some members are less than fluent in English. All were helpful and watched out for their customers.
112th floor bar is quiet and with very nice views.

I loved the area, some people might not be as comfortable. It's very safe, but because it is so touristed, there are beggars and homeless on the same street. It is also the red-klight district. Not offensive, but lots of girly-bars throughout the area.

A couple of fixes and this will be a great hotel.

Electrical system is not properly grounded and i got a little jolt a few times. Plumbing could use some work...restroom was sometimes unpleasant. Service was good. Bath and shower were great. View was awesome. Room was clean and comfortable. Overall a good value and fine hotel.

Room was small but comfortable. Comfortable bed, good AC. Room had no window but I knew that when I booked. It was a cheap price. Small bathroom. Lobby has nice decor. Room was clean even though when I got to the room I found a small cockroach in the bathroom. The location is very good, half a block from river and around the corner from a bunch of bars and retaurants. However to get to river and restaurants you had to go by maybe 30 meters of a slew of homeless families living there. At times it didn't seem as safe. Staff was very nice and helpful, though their English is not very good. Another guest was trying to tell them that the door lock had been broken and he was worried that someone had tried to break in. The woman in the lobby nodded as she understood. But when I asked her if he understood what the other guest was saying she said she didn't. Not sure she understood when I explained to her even though she said she did understand.

Breakfast was normal, nothing special. Their rooftop is actually pretty cool.

It took the shower forever to heat up. Like 10 min at least to get hot water. Toiletries were ok.
When I got to hotel the elevator didn't work. So I had to go up 5 floors to my room. It took them forever to bring my bag up. Had to actually go downstairs via the stairs again and see if they were going to bring it up or if I should.
It wasn't the perfect stay, but it was a very good one considering the price. Provides value for money. Would come again.

Point Boutique hotel is a brand new hotel with a great Location next to the river. We had a room with a Nice view of the riverside which was perfect! Friendly staff and nice simple breakfast.
