If you don’t have a car, this may not be the hotel for you cause it’s not close to the center of Segovia. You will need to spend lots of money on Uber or taxi. They have a swimming pool and paddle court. Kids enjoyed them. FYI, they need $20 deposit for pool towels and paddle/balls. We love the breakfast - lots of choices. Fresh fruit were great. Kitchen staff were all pleasant. I’m not sure if I can say the same with the receptionists however. I don’t usually rate the staff but the ladies behind that counter were not the most pleasant nor helpful. I stayed in 3 different hotels in this trip (Madrid and Valencia) and that’s why I’m spending time to rate the staff in this hotel. The staff on the other two hotels were pleasant, approachable, helpful and and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable and welcome. They were not stuck up which I’m afraid how I would describe the receptionists at Hotel Candido. We will be back in Segovia for the next four years but I doubt I will stay at this hotel again.

The room and bathroom were very good.The communal areas were very nice. the location was away from the tourist area but was walkable in 30 minutes and the bus stop located directly outside the hotel was convenient. Buses every 15 minutes and not expensive.
The major disappointment was that the outdoor swimming pool was closed. If we were made aware of this during or after the booking process then we would have chosen a different hotel.

SUPERB QUALITY STAY

Forget anything negative you may have read about this hotel …. It’s absolutely fabulous. The room was very spacious with luxurious carpets opening onto our own private courtyard. The bed was superb and the quality of the bed linen was superb; as were the pillows.
The en-suite bathroom was well appointed with separate shower and toilet cubicles. The bath towels were superb quality and a very generous size.
I can’t comment on breakfast as I prefer to have only a coffee but, I did take a look and was impressed by the selection and quality. We did however take an evening meal in the restaurant and the service and food were superb.
All the staff were helpful and polite and the free parking felt secure as we could park our motorcycles next to the main entrance.
Would I stay here again? Most certainly YES.

* No kettle, tea or coffee making facilities
* No tissues
* No hot towel rail
* Rooms are definitely not soundproofed and if you are on a first floor room expect to be kept awake by the noisy babble from the communal area below. And the Spanish like to ear late, drink late and shout late. (12.30 - 1am is not uncommon) Additionally, the staff start pushing the chairs back in the morning - The scraping noise will ensure an early wake up call!!

As we were staying in this beautifully appointed hotel with what purported to be a Michelin restaurant, we dressed up for what we thought was going to be a special meal.
Shown to our table and left for15 minutes before asking us for our drinks. Another 15 minutes before they took our food order and shortly after that a plate of croquettes was literally dumped on the table.
We shrugged and started on our shared entree, but with 4 croquettes still on the platter our plates were whisked away and our mains dumped before us. Mains were even worse. Cold food that should have been hot, waiters that couldn’t care less.
Horrible experience!!

The standard room was a good size & clean but the bathroom could do with a deep clean to remive mould.
The main lounge area didn't seem to get cleaned every day, didn't seem to be a sense of pride for this area.
Wasn't impressed with the additional charge to use the indoor swimming pool & jacuzzi so didn't bother with it.
Hotel's ok for a one night stay but not a lot to do in the area for any longer.

great service - lovely team making sure our room had an extra bed even if not planned - super large corner room, facing city, mountain, garden and pool - will go back (provided we are without pet as they don't accept which is worth pointing out) - a bit of a long walk to town (2.5 km) - but very doable - bus and taxis are cheap - recommended as away from summer buzz of tourists.

I have never slept in a bed as hard, we had would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor/carpet. The breakfast was mayhem as I think 🤔 there was a conference or something going on, had to queue for about ten minutes for coffee by the time got back to the table the food was cold (that you also had to queue for) was cold. We have stayed at this hotel about three years ago and thought it was very nice but would definitely not stay again.

The hotel room was old but okay. We thought we were getting a king bed but ended up with two twin beds on rollers which separated. The breakfast was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The eggs were cold and when we asked about this, they were put in the microwave. There was a bird in the indoor room where breakfast was served and we were told he just comes and goes. The servers were rude especially to those who did not speak Spanish. The only person of assistance was the women who worked at the front desk.

We stayed as a couple in September. We booked a standard room which was very spacious and had a full length double door with a Juliet balcony, which gave plenty of light. Breakfast was excellent, and well organised with the Covid restrictions. We had half board which was lovely, massive portions, and a good choice as the hotel is slightly out of town. Plentiful free parking. A taxi was 5Eu each way to town, which was much more convenient than driving. The pool was large and water bracing, but fine once you got your shoulders under the water. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again if we returned to the city.

Outstanding hotel in Segovia

Beautifully appointed large traditional Spanish rooms in a fabulous hotel with an amazing outdoor pool within beautiful grounds. The indoor pool and spa area also looked fantastic although we only used the outdoor pool as the weather was hot The hotel is situated about one mile from the aqueduct and old town which suited us perfectly for visiting all the sites. The staff were very helpful. Food also very good. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Posh hotel that impressed my other half. Large bedroom and lots of marble in the huge bathroom. Beware, although this hotel is not far from the START of the aqueduct the aqueduct is very long and my wife complained about the walk into the city and back (about 2 km) although it didn't bother me. Fascinating to follow the aqueduct all the way in.

Second visit to this lovely hotel, the hotel facilities are very good with an outdoor pool and indoor pool spa etc although there is a charge for use of pool and spa per hour. The Spa treatments were very good.
Breakfast has a good choice for most tastes. Had an evening meal on one night, was a little disappointed but overall ok.
The hotel is very well decorated and our room was enormous, room standards are very good so you should no be disappointed.

The hotel is beautiful. The lobby and room very artfully decorated. The bathroom has 2 sinks and is excellent. The spa looks beautiful as well.
The pool is located in the spa which closes at 9pm. The real downside was that they charge €10 per person for the use of the pool which is located in the spa.
I sat down on the bed and it was hard as a rock. I went to the front desk and asked if they had any other rooms available and they said unfortunately couldn't move us but most people complain that the beds are too soft. When I said that I found it hard to believe and the bed was almost as hard as the counter the woman said a firm bed is just what the doctor ordered and firm beds are better to sleep on... So which is it, people complain the beds are too hard or soft? I tried to sleep that night and couldn't until literally 3 am. My wife agreed as well but she was so tired that was still able to fall asleep. Upon checkout when asked how our room was I told the front desk man that the bed was so hard and uncomfortable and he then asked how everything else was and I said it was good but could I have a discount for the bed situation. He said no but was glad besides the bed everything was good. The main reason you go to a hotel is for the bed. The other amenities can be enjoyable but the bed is why you pay to stay at a hotel.
Kind of disappointed in the response especially given the high reviews.

A modern hotel built and operated by the Candido family. In many ways it represents a museum to the family, with portraits,photographs and busts! It is very comfortable and parking is ample and accessible. The only downside was that some of the staff appeared rather disinterested and, on occasions, unhelpful?

Segovia is a great place to visit - beautiful buildings, history, culture and lovely people. Easy access to Madrid via the AVE Train also made this a great holiday destination. The food, the shopping all were great. It is a great place to practice your Spanish as few people speak English. It is a taste of real Spain!

One of the finest hotels we stayed through our trip in Spain. We found it at his site and we chose it because it was easy to get to if you are driving in. We never expected to be this nice. The whole property its really nice. The rooms are big and very nicely decorated. Breakfast was awesome and free parking. Candido himself waved us goodbye in the morning after we checked out. A very memorable stay in Segovia.

Good value and comfortable room. Need to take bus to old city - quite convenient once you figure it out. It would be nice to have tea making facilities or a bottle opener etc but the hotel seems to operate mainly for the function business. The front desk was pleasant without necessarily going out of their way to solve problems.

We arrived at the AVE Train Station. We took a taxi that took us to the hotel, but also could have taken a bus. The reservation was in order and we were assigned room. The room is spacious, spotless bathroom, tub and shower are separated, which is a great comfort, a lovely terrace overlooking a large garden. King size bed. The breakfast was good, but nothing outstanding. The attention of the waiters a bit cold, but efficient. At the front desk gave us all the information about the attractions of the city, they were always friendly. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop. Routes 4 and 5 can take you to the famous Roman aqueduct in 15 minutes, for 1 euro, there start all the city sightseeing tours.

I had an excellent stay in this hotel. very large room and huge bathroom. its out of town and therefore very quiet. you can walk into the touristy part in maybe half an hour but it cost us 5 euros into town and 3.8 back. probably a break even cost as the hotel has free parking. i would definitely stay here again in future visits. our stay cost 110 euros including breakfast per night in September.

The hotel belongs to the family of Restaurant Mesón de Cándido, it is quite a good hotel with big room, free car park and free wifi but wifi connection is not stable and show water temperature is unstable. I talked to the staff and they promised to check it up but it did not get fixed. Be careful ! Do not burn yourself.

En general aceptable, precio no concuerda con calidad ofrecida. No tienen gancho para colgar las toallas de ducha en el baño, por lo que las dejas encima de la bañera y se las llevan cada día, no es ecológico. Bastante desactualizado y anticuado. Necesaria renovación. Carta restaurante en web tiene los precios desactualizados, no concuerdan con los de la carta in situ. En general aceptable pero por precio no volvería. A valorar la comodidad del colchón y personal de recepción y comedor muy amable y profesional.

Excelente, limpio, amplio tanto habitaciones como zonas comunes, muy confortable, calefacción en todo su interior, tanto pasillos como zonas comunes. Personal educado y agradable. Todo perfecto.

Lits incroyables de confort mais pour le reste.. Petit déjeuner TRÈS bof, douche bouchée, hôtel un peu vétuste. Piscine intérieure payante attention, 12€ par personne. Le 2 étoiles réservé juste avant semblait plus être un 4 étoiles que celui ci.
