I arrived at the room and the floor was wet with a strong bleach smell.Managed to get the room changed and the new room door would not open.Had to go up and down the elevator around 3 times to sort the issue.Finally started to work. Entered and one of the lights did not work, the shaving mirror was hanging off the wall.The door to the balcony also had loose screws and I could hear the traffic outside as well as ppl in the hallway.Slippers were not provided and the TV had NO features to watch any apps. So far it seemed more like a 3* hotel. The breakfast was ok and the view was good.HOWEVER THE WORST WAS YET TO COME.I returned to the hotel to collect my bag and check out. I had a ferry booked and had plenty of time to spare. However, the room lock completely failed. I proceeded to go up and down the elevator around 5 times to fix the issue as they did not believe there was a problem. After the issue was identified, they brought numerous technicians and it took over an hour to get back into the room. By this time there ferry had left and I missed all my connections. They did absolutely nothing to compensate for the delays or travel and left me completely out of pocket. I had to stay another night in Tangier, they said they would look into giving me a free room. Once again the customer service failed. They said all the rooms were taken.Which was a lie as I checked booking sites. Many better hotels in Tangier, even 3*.They even said manager was on holiday on wkends

This is a busy hotel with many tourists, some of whom can be quite demanding of the staff. I found a few reception staff to be a little impatient, though it’s understandable given the pace and volume of guests. The location is excellent—close to everything and especially nice being near the ocean. Breakfast was adequate and provided a reasonable start to the day. The biggest downside was the noise when the nightclubs finished around 4 am, which was very disruptive for at least an hour.

Had an amazing stay at this hotel. Unlike neighboring hotels like Kenzo (hated my experience there) Barcelo staff is professional and courteous. They make you feel welcomed unlike the Kenzo hotel. They have dining options. Rooms have balconies for views of the beach. The pool is nice and quiet. It's expensive overall but it's worth it.

Stayed three nights. Hotel is in great location next to beach with great view from balcony. Noisy late at night with street traffic, honking, nightlife, but was aware of that before booking. Room needed to be vacuumed as hair/dust lingering on floor, shelf in closet broken, so when something placed on it, it fell apart. Originally booked queen bed, ended up with two singles, but realize it is common in rooms. Some towels needed replacing, although washed, stains remained and ends were tattered. Soap tray in shower had soap caked on it from previous bars of soap left there. Toilet room door was jammed open as it scraped floor too much. Upon arrival there were two small bottles of water provided in room, at end of second day request was made for another bottle of water at front desk and was told I had to return to my room, call and order water through room service- no help at front desk for that. Restaurants and main pool area were great. Service was good in those areas. Roof top bar was good with DJ and amazing views. Roof top pool needed cleaning as tissues and other floaters in water. Brunch each morning was very good with lots of variety and friendly staff. Advertised as 5 star hotel, but definitely was not on this trip.

The hotel offers excellent service. The entire staff is as friendly as could be and if you need something you only need to ask.
The location is directly across the street from a beautiful beach but keep in mind that it is noisy at all hours. If you are a light sleeper it may be difficult for you. I use earplugs and that helped greatly although there were times where you could still hear honking horns very early in the morning. Again, it is an incredibly busy location and right in the middle of where you want to be in the city.
Some items in our room that were listed were not there but we simply asked and the hotel staff very quickly provided what we had asked for such as a coffee machine and bathrobe.
They also made good recommendations on restaurants nearby and currency exchange.
The breakfast buffet is expensive and the food was very good.

Overall the hotel is excellent.

This was a family trip, where we stayed at 4 different hotels in Spain and Morroco. Barcelo Tanger was by far the priciest. There was a smell of sewer on the floor, they said they had \"upgraded our room\" but now I'm convinced they were lying so that we wouldn't complain about how horribly noisy and stinky that floor and those rooms were. It was really difficult to communicate with staff. My first language is Spanish and I can say a few little things in French, yet it was so hard to get some type of service. I got inconsistent guidance on who to reach out for assistance, and clearly they wanted me to use room service to charge us more. The hotel had fragrance machines lined all over the floor where we stayed to masked the smell of sewer water, and the fragrance was penetrating, and migraine inducing. I was terribly disappointed. It really marred my experience of Tangier.

Super negative stay. Hotel charged me fees two times. Charged $50 for ice they brought. Operantly where is no free ice in this hotel. In any city in Morocco I staid they had ice. Customer Service level very poor. Conditions of the room super poor. A lot of damaged items. And wi-fi did not work but they dont compensate for it. I heart myself to ver those sticking out wires. And doors are not posible to close.

Great place to stay, we were here for 4 nights and it had everything room service, CLEAN rooms staff are bery helpful and polite, nearby are food places alot of fast food and a few restaurants. Taxis are always around also so not kuch waiting arkund for taxi.

They also did a nice surprise for my birthday with cake and fruit. A massive sports tv area downstairs where you can watch any big games so no need to worry about missing a football game either lol.

Right across from the beach i would defo come back here.

New modern design hotel but very noisy!

The hotel is new, modern, and location is great. However, we did not enjoyed our stay. Our suite located on the 1st floor, which has amazing view from the beach, but it was noisy as heck! You could hear everything from the street, 24 hours non-stop, and we couldn't sleep. The hotel is fairly new, but the maintenance is not very great, as you can see a lot of crack on tiles in the bathroom. Besides that, the service is average, but the location is nice.

For the price you pay, we had a broken AC unit in our room which we mentioned and nothing was done about it, our bathroom doors were broken and were not sliding or closing properly at all.

The water pressure in the shower was very weak, during the breakfast the coffee machines were always not working properly and whenever you have a question or concern to the staff, they didn't seem to care about it. Definitely overhyped and overpriced

The location was great for walking the Medina and the Hop On/Hop Off bus tour. What concerned me was being charged about $350 at check out for no apparent reason. I paid for the room in advance. There was no paperwork except for two receipts. I've messaged the hotel and plan to dispute the charge with my credit card company. The desk people spoke English until check out. One of them stood there and the other was the one who started charging. It took about 10 minutes for her to rifle through papers then make the charges.

Our room smelled like sewage and was rather unpleasant. Actually the entire floor smelt like sewage. The traffic from the street was loud and could be heard at most hours. The rooftop bar could be very nice but they had almost nothing from the menu available, we placed three orders and they had not one of those beverages in stock. This is not appropriate for a Barcelo facility. Inside the room the door to the bathroom was bent and could not close at all. There was white fuzz all over the drawers and we had no idea what this was ( I took photos) but it was distressing to see this inside our room. Highly disappointed. On a positive note, the attendant at the front door was wonderful, always smiling and very kind

We wanted a more western style hotel after 2 weeks travelling the country and the Barcelo delivered that! The rooftop bar was lovely as well as the pool areas. Breakfast was plentiful. It was a bit far (25 minute walk) from the sites we were there to see, and the noise from the street on Saturday night (horns, yelling, talking) went on until 6:30am!!! If we were to visit Tangier again we would choose something in the old part of town. Depends on what you are looking to see and do.

Customer service staff was terrible, they kept giving different information and then tried to blame it on us for “mishearing” when we had asked the question to 5 different employees multiple times just to be sure. Instead of trying to help they will literally argue with you and insist that it’s IMPOSSIBLE their colleagues would’ve said that, when last time i checked i’m the one who was present during those multiple conversations. The room service….do NOT waste your money, it is terrible ( literally inedible ) and comes to your room cold. Now for the rooms. The first one we had was truly trash, i refuse to believe they checked it before we came in because there is no way you would give that to a client. The sink was clogged and the toilet was leaking so the whole floor was wet, we had to insist multiple times for them to change our room. ( which btw they kept saying “yes we’ll check our room system and call you back” and of course they never did i had to physically go down and refuse to go back up when a room magically appeared in less than 1 min). Also the sea view that you pay extra for, keep in mind that you might get a huge wooden board right in the center of your “beautiful view”. The experience was terrible from start to finish to the point where i thought there was a hidden camera and i was being pranked by how ridiculous some of these situations were. The ONLY redeeming quality is the amazing cleaning staff that were so nice and tried to help as much as they could.

We booked a Deluxe Room with Sea View for ourselves and Deluxe Double with Sea View for our college age kids. Our stay was exceptional. The hotel is in the center of the International section of Tangier and is conveniently located near the ferry.

Everything from the check-in to the rooms themselves was first rate. The restaurant was wonderful and the breakfast was outstanding. The rooftop bar in the evening gives you one of the best views of Tangier on the Mediterranean.

It was fun to be able to see camels on the beach from our expansive terrace. I would highly recommend the Barcelo if you are visiting Tangier.

Really beautiful hotel, well-located with excellent views of the beach and sea. Unfortunately they gave me a smoking room when I arrived, and when I asked to change, they were gracious finally, but the room I got was half the size of the one I reserved and paid for. That was a bit disappointing. Also, the street-facing windows (sea views) are not very soundproof and the road noise was very, very loud. But overall, the design and facilities were lovely and the staff was accommodating.

Hotel location is good and breakfast is fantastic, ocean view is unbeatable , but I stayed at second floor which is very noisy from the traffic from major road in front of hotel. The shower pressure and switch is wonderful . However the house keeping and other service is far below the standard of 5 star hotel , no one picks up phone in house keeping during normal hour, missing showing gel bottle in the bathroom , talked front desk twice to bring one more pair slipper and cup since we have three peoples in suites , it said it was arranged but never showed up during our two nights stay, I gave up on them , a three star hotel is doing better . The rooftop bar view is great and service is good, but food is really plain, worst fish I had in Morocco.

But the most expensive coca cola I have ever had at $12 a can even though in room service it is only $5?? Also tv’s in all public areas just constantly played Barcello hotel group ad which was not attractive for bar and restaurant ambience.

The property is nice and new. The breakfast is very impressive. I am surprised that there is no one to help us to move the luggage at the door considering that it is rated 5-star hotel. The bathroom has a little drainage issue, which always overflowed.

Waste of Money

Beaten floors, the premium room wasn't stocked with anything, and the shower flooded the room twice even after someone was sent to fix it. Prices are ridiculously high for food. Breakfast was the only decent part. People can see your room from outside unless you close all the blinds.
