Looks like a hotel from the 80's without proper maintenance
Smelly hallways of dirty carpets.
The room looks like an abandoned warehouse - scratched parquet, a broken refrigerator next to a new refrigerator, an air conditioner that makes a noise like an airplane but cools like a burning candle (and also puts out dust!), a sunken bed, a broken toilet, broken sockets, a balcony door that doesn't lock, broken lighting, a clogged sink, and a floor that hasn't heard a mop in years.
The reception? They smile and say \"come in the morning... maybe they'll free up some rooms.\" In the meantime - we sleep three nights without air conditioning.

We payed extra for a room with a double bed and view of the garden. All we saw was the roof that stretches out towards the garden and the room had two single beds. We had to ask 5-7 times over the span of two days for new beds or a new room, but ended up pushing them together ourselves, only for the housekeeping to put them back.
This is NOT a 5-star hotel, 3 at BEST. Do not waste your money here.

Beautiful hotel in convenient location. Customer service excellent. Elevators not all working and has to walk down 15 flights of stairs. 1 elevator never worked at all. A/C didn’t work properly. Kept turning off and switch would not turn back on. I believe the switch plate needed to be replaced. Beautiful breeeze of the ocean accommodated for lack of proper a/c.

Hotel in amazing location and beautiful beach. Ok as a four star hotel but really wouldn’t call it five , as the finishes were poor. Few issues; 1-dangerous large mirror that was cracked and we reported it twice and nothing done about it. 2-wrong pictures of chosen suite didn’t have pool as advertised , and we were told Expedia got it wrong . 3- iron room had timer light that kept going out whilst trying to iron which is dangerous . 3-advertised with coffee tea making facilities and we had one coffee pod in the whole week, plus our friends were charged for their coffee in their room , 4- city tax higher than advertised on site and were slightly shocked when checking in and presented with the invoice. 5- though there is a large amount of breakfast available , the hot breakfast was cold to warm if you were lucky and we tried at different times and always the same.

Dining arrangements were ordinary. There was a restaurant at the rear that was only availabile for guests that had pre-bought all their dining. This was often near empty, while the main dining hall was chaotic.

It’s alright… but Not the greatest. Appreciating it’s a massive complex but the whole place looks and feels a bit tired. 50 years old this year… and you can tell. Check in is painful and for some reason seems to take an age. We stayed in one of the family bungalow suites up the mountain side. Concierge service with buggies to get you up and down thank god. The room was ok but… as I say… in need of a refurb. Aircon in the room defo needs a re-gas or service. Had trouble getting to sleep some nights as it was still pretty hot in the room. Had an “American” style breakfast included… lots to choose from. Staff could defo do with cheering up a bit… not many smiles knocking around. Overall… I’d give it 6 out of 10.

This is our 3rd stay at Rodos Palace. We have always stayed in a garden suite or a bungalow rather than the main hotel block. This year we stayed in a bungalow again. They are spacious and the grounds around the bungalows are well maintained. They are also very quiet. However, we have noticed that the bungalows have started to look 'tired' and could definitely benefit from a refurbishment.
Although the main hotel pool is lovely, you cannot get a bed at the pool if you aren't up extremely early. This is despite a sign at the pool asking guests not to leave towels/belongings on beds prior to 10am and then returning to their rooms. The sign says belongings will be removed if this happens. Everyone ignores those signs and the hotel does not take any action. This is disappointing when you are looking for a sunbed and the vast majority are unoccupied at 10 with just a bottle of suncream or towel on them!

It was a complete disappointment, it did not fulfill any of our expectations, the people in the front desk were rude and have unclean rooms, they don’t clean the bathrooms, floors or change the bed sheets, all they bed sheets are always stained.

This is a lovely hotel but it could do with some maintenance. The staff were friendly, especially Dimitris. There were quite a few niggles in our room, like the AC could have been cooler, the shower kept over flooding, ants in the kitchen. The breakfast had variety but it was average. We had an amazing private pool in our block so felt relaxed. Overall, we didn’t allow these issues to get in the way. We had a wonderful break. The hotel really stepped up when the wildfires happened and provided food and shelter for all those affected. Hat off to them!

Very young slightly rowdie crowd staying there. Wasn't what we expected. Nice renovated room,clean and modern. Food in buffet restaurant was ok. Very warm weather, had to find a place away from the main pool as different people had music blaring from their speakers. Very reasonable quick break for my birthday. Shame no sun beds on the beach. Nice staff. Very out of season so the area was very quiet, no other hotels open. Many restaurants /shops were closed. Outside pool was freezing and the indoor pool wasn't in use. Plenty of sun beds out of season, probably wouldn't want to be there in summer. Have stayed at much better five star hotels. Definitely get sea view and premium room which has been renovated.

Upon arrival, we were checked in, no issue, no mention of additional charges, only the tourist tax. We then realised drinks not included with meals so we had to pay extra. There was no mention of an additional £15 charge per night. Overall, we ended up paying an additional approx £60 on top of our reservation fee. Not warned when checked in.
Hotel is clean and beautiful but a lot of resources were closed. At the bar, you are pressurised to order drinks if you want to enjoy entertainment.
Rooms are decent, modern and clean. Our toilet door would not open once closed. So we had to open the door from outside. The bathroom door would not close leaving a gap which the floor very slippery.
The lights would randomly switch off and on at night which was scary at the beginning.
There is a generator that runs early in the morning which is very very disturbing.
No aircons in rooms. Only heater that is set to 27 (centrally).

Disappointed that a five star rated hotel, offered only a buffet service dinner option. Not notified of this at check-in. Not made clear at booking time that hotel would be shared with all inclusive bookings! Standard of accommodation was superb.

Second visit and sadly not as good an experience. Had to move rooms once to get air con that actually worked. Rooms are getting tired and in need of upgrade. Cleaners poor. Lots of facilities weren’t open and you have to pay extra €10 per visit to use the gym.

The best holiday our family has ever had. This was our 2nd time visiting the hotel and we would not hesitate in recommending.
The hotel was very well setup for COVID restrictions, and we always felt safe and secure.

The hotel is kept clean, but the property condition in certain areas does need to be upgraded. The hotel can not be said it is 5 star!!There were chairs which were falling apart. The beach was across the road and we had to pay Eu5 /bed, there was no deal made by the hotel so that we would not have to pay.
The evening shows were a big disappointment, and again for a 5Star hotel a better effect should have been made.

We have been asking for an iron to iron our clothes for 3 days, receiving different answers about the reason why we can/cannot have an iron. Every day we were told different things to realise that they were not giving us an iron to force us pay for the ironing services of the hotel!!! This is supposed to be a 5* hotel and everyone pays a good amount of money for their stay. They are trying to make even more money from things like the ironing services and wifi! There is NO wifi in the rooms, only in public areas!!! In a 5* hotel!!!

Inhospitable Hospitality
Mixed up the rooms, so, on arrival after a hot and lengthy ferry trip, it took the best part of an hour until we had suitable sleeping arrangements for the 5 paying adults in our party. This, inspite of calling ahead 24 hours before arriving, to be assured they knew we needed separate beds, due to my being post-Op, and unable to share.

We waited in the heated room, sweating, for an hour. No-one came. After returning from dinner, the room was unbearably hot, so I called down, to be told there was a problem. Receptionist said she would put a note under the door with an appointment for me to discuss with the manager, the following morning. No note received. I emailed Customer Relations re my dissatisfaction. Still no reply 6 days on. Dreadful. Expensive, waste of my hard earned money, for a 24 hour stay, no sleep due to heat, and lack of advertised facility. They don't care about their guests, inhospitable hotel.

Escapee from Rodos Palace
RP is old tired and should be gutted and completely refurbished. It needs a massive updating. The Staff are overworked and it shows. The first room I stayed in looked fine but the bathroom was unusable due to a lack of maintenance. The staff gave me a second room. This room had a bathroom that worked appropriately. The beach was bad. Small stones between toes not good. The beach should be sanded. The personal touch, because of resort size, is lacking. The HT Mngr was nowhere to be seen. We booked the Sunset Suite and it did exactly what it said on the tin. The view was amazing! Also, we really liked the number of options with regards to dining and being able to upgrade our half board to one of the a la cart restaurants for 5Euro's/person/meal.

The room was very spacious, the pool areas were well maintained, nice view of beach/sea. The hotel is well located to take public transport into the historic district of Rhodes. The restaurant staff handled food allergies better than we had expected.
It is a large property, so sometimes the staff would be hard pressed to deal efficiently with guests when large groups would descend on the front desk or restaurant.

Having been fortunate to stay in other 5 star hotels throughout the world this particular hotel fell short in many respects, & at best could be called 4 star. The half-board option was not fully explained on arrival & after experiencing what can only be described as a \"Butinesque\" dining hall on our first night decided that we would eat out despite having paid for the additional food. It was only after a week (we were there) for 10 days, that we discovered that if we paid a further €5.00 a head per meal we could dine at other restaurants on the site - which we did & it was well worth it. Ilaysos (where the hotel is) has two or three eateries & bars lots of hotels (but unlike other Greek resorts it is not clear if you can use their facilities) so apart from a couple of bus trips into Rhodes town we stayed locally as to hot to do much else ! Easy to get bus very close to hotel & only 10mins cost of under €2 per person each way. Rhodes town has lots to do such as boat trips - visit the castle etc . Enjoyable holiday but wouldn't rush back in main season, out of season possibly

The hotel is huge and their facilities are very good. However, the amount of lifts it has aren't sufficient for the numbers of people using it as the whole time we were there, we have to wait for lifts going to breakfast as well as dinner. It's not too bad if you're on a lower floor cause you can just walk up or down but not so good if you're much higher up.
The hotel is very well kept and the location is good for going into Rhodes as it's only 10/15 minutes away. Fares are ok but if you are looking for visiting sights and doing various tours around the island, it's best to stay in a hotel in Rhodes town as it saves a lot of time waiting for buses to and fro as well as cutting down on cost.

Close to the airport and as close to the sea as you possibly could be. Hotel is situated just off the main road in a region with several other hotels and extremely close to a number of local shops/bars/restaurants.
Local beech is a stone one so if you're looking for sand, it's a short drive away.

The Rodos Palace Hotel was great! Breakfast and dinner buffet was very good with lots of choices. The staff were pleasant, very attentive and helpful. I would stay there again. There is easy beach access right across the street and some decent tavernas and super markets within a very short walk.

Our stay at Rodos Palace was disappointing to say the least. Upon entering our room, which was extremely outdated, old and musty, my son went to use the bathroom and the handle fell off. I went to the front desk and reported the problem at 2:45pm. At 6 pm, no one had come to fix the bathroom lock and my son subsequently got locked in. After 10 minutes, we were able to calm him down and With help and guidance for him out. I went back to the front desk, with lock in hand and the staff could have cared less. They were directing me from one person to the next. They finally sent me to a lovely woman at customer service desk who reported that the problem had never been reported in the first place. She was finally able to locate someone to fix the bathroom door, close to 5 hours after it being initially reported. I was so disappointed in this hotel and will never recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Rhodes. There are so many other hotels in the vicinity. Don’t waste your time or money on this one.

The staff were lovely and very helpful to all our questions. Our room was fantastic and clean, if a little bit outdated. Heads up that the hair dryer in our room wasn't great for drying my long hair, but it might be better for others. There was a great variety of food and the pools were great, though quite chilly when we stayed! The different services available were great, we used the spa and the guest relations for organising the fantastic tours we went on during our stay. The hotel isn't too far from rodos town either and we got on the bus there, plus there are lots of options for food outside of the hotel if you don't fancy eating in. I would highly recommend this hotel, and thank you to all the staff for your care and attention during our stay, you all made Rhodes a place to come and visit again!

My spouse and I booked a 3 night getaway immediately following our wedding for a weekend Mini Moon. We stayed in one of the suites at Rodos Palace and from start to finish our stay was amazing. We were greeted with champagne at check in, sent complimentary wine and snacks to our suite, enjoyed complimentary (20 minute) massages), and had access to the hotel's special 16th floor VIP lounge), and enjoyed a private pool.
The suites are just a minute's walk from the main hotel building (including the Abav2 VIP lounge), and both the suite and the lounge are fresh and renovated. The lounge specifically is completely new (completed Aug/September 2018) and we felt the love there. The two hotel pools (one indoor, one outdoor) are both clean and lovely.
Wonderful staff and service! Good English, competently answered questions when they arose, offered help.
Food: My spouse is a 'special' (picky) eater, so I can say with confidence that if she enjoyed the breakfasts 3 straight mornings it's gotta be good!

Disappointing, I expect more from a 5 star hotel.
Upon booking I was confirmed a double bed. On arrival I was given a room with two single beds (not even next to each other). When I spoke to reception about this, I was told my only option would be to pay 40 euros per night to upgrade my room. Begrudgingly, I did this and was given a new room with a double bed. What I didn't realise at the time was that the new room was next to the three lifts and all I could hear all night long was the mechanics of the lifts making sleep almost impossible. The next morning I complained about this and was immediately told they would change my room. (They must have known about this issue). So I was now on my third room, which thankfully was a distance from any lift and subsequently quiet. This room however did not have a double bed and I was back to two singles again. I was so tired of changing rooms by this stage, I could not be bothered to argue anymore and gave in. (At least the beds were next to each other in this room).
The hotel itself was quite pleasant, but a lot of the staff were less than helpful and at times verging on rude. I expect more from a five star hotel and would not stay there again.

This hotel is located across the street from the beach, which is nice. The rooms are tastefully decorated. The shower is nice. However, the air condition is way below standard. The temperature in the room never went below 25 Celsius. Plus, the hotel has a weird policy of charging 5 Euros for extra towels, which means that you either have to dry off with a dirty towel, or not take a shower. This place is not worth the price!

Great hotel we had the garden vip room with 2 adults and 2 children. Room lovely with small kitchen. Good hotel pool and separate kids pool too. Opposite the beach. Welcome drink on arrival which was a nice touch. Would recommend the hotel and definitely worth booking the Gatden suite.

We were in the VIP wing and had that breakfast but still no mint tea and cornflakes like cardboard. usual hotel toaster that you can never get right! why don't people just have the pop ups! needed to get out early to get a sunbed so most of the we headed out. We've rented scooters here for last 3 years but this is first time we've stayed here. Balcony door didn't close properly so we got bit a lot and we had issues with room keys not working on last couple of days so we had to keep walking down to reception. tv could also do with more channels, maybe some movies

There is an open and a close swimming pool. nothing special, the outdoor pool is quite small for the hotels size and the indoor is horrendous. is literally for kids.
