This property is not only far from a 5-star hotel standard, it’s a literal health and safety hazard. Upon checkin we are shown to our standard room, where we find dozens of ants crawling both in the bedroom and in the bathroom. We call front desk and they said they’ll send a maid to spray them… we return and there’s still ants but we’re exhausted at this point and let it be. We find the room to be too warm and humid and called again to ask someone to check our AC they said they’ll fix it on their end and to call back if any issues. We fall asleep due to our jet lag and are woken up at 2AM from the miserable heat. We call down to ask someone to come fix immediately and the guy says “Yeah I told you to call me back if any issues”. Anyways they finally send us to a temporary suite to sleep for the rest of the night. Next day we talk to the manager and explain everything who lets us to continue our stay in the suite (we only had 1 night left anyways). Even the suite is still humid and moldy in the bathroom area but at this point we’ll take it. On our last day, we check out and have a drink in the lobby bar before we depart, and there is a LIVE MAGGOT crawling on the seat. The waiter wipes it off after I say something (not sure if she actually understood what I was pointing at) as if no big deal. We were so glad to be leaving. I truly don’t know how this place became a 5-star hotel.

It's billed as an above average hotel in anacapri...but, it's average.

The bathrooms need a remodel, the pool has algae growing in the grout between the tiles, they need new pillows for the beds and the beds are extremely firm.

The property was pleasant, clean and centrally located. We didn’t receive the welcome drinks we were told would be brought to our room but It was ok. I loved that the hotel offered room service. A need for me as I was forced to stay in and work all evening. To this end, the wifi was strong and consistent, though the room service menu left much to be desired: I was a bit disappointed with the menu. Two very small bottles of water is complimentary which in summer months almost guarantee you will need to buy extra water. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was surprisingly large with a deep soaker tub. I finished work around 1am and was still able to go out for food and a drink at a bar next door which was great. I would for sure return to this hotel for another stay.

Good location in Anacapri pedestrian area but no help from hotel staff with luggage. The receptionist on arrival was lovely but the second was very unfriendly. Should be rated 4 star otherwise you will be disappointed.

If I could give this establishment negative stars, believe me, I would. My experience here was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel obligated to share it to prevent others from wasting their hard-earned money and precious vacation time.

From the moment I walked in, I was met with the surliest, most unprofessional manager I have ever had the displeasure of encountering in any hotel, anywhere. His demeanor was hostile, unhelpful, and shockingly aggressive. Customer service seems to be a foreign concept at this establishment.

However, the true horror awaited in the room. I was aghast to find mold creeping across the walls and ceiling. The musty stench was unbearable, making it impossible to breathe without feeling like one was inhaling toxic fumes. This isn’t just an aesthetic or comfort issue—it's a significant health hazard!

When I (rightly) requested a refund due to the uninhabitable condition of the room, the manager's rudeness escalated. Not only did he refuse, but he berated and belittled me, making me feel like the problem when in reality, his establishment is the true issue.

I urge all potential guests to steer clear of Villa Blu Capri. Save your money, health, and peace of mind. There are countless other accommodations in the area that value their customers and uphold basic standards of cleanliness and decency.

I fail to understand how this hotel has a 5 star rating. A standard room is in the basement of the hotel, as is the gym and the hallway smells like a gym. The steam room looked like it was in need of a good scrub (I certainly would not use it); there is no information on how to use the steam room, or sauna, so I suppose it matters not if you want to use it anyway. Our kettle was broken; asked for a replacement and did not get it. The coffee machine leaked and the table was stained with black watermarks. Told the front desk about the coffee maker leak; they said it was 'too bad'. The shower grout also needs to be replaced. We ate dinner at the hotel one night. Service was excellent and the food was ok but again, for the price, it should have been a spectacular meal. The hotel also lacks any kind of old world Italian/European charm. Very disappointing.

This place is SO NICE and beautiful. We loved staying in Anacapri vs. Capri because it's way less crowded in the mornings and the evenings. Most of the day tourists only come to that area in the afternoon, so we spent that time by the hotel pool, which is gorgeous. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They even upgraded our room for free since we were staying 3 nights. Great small shops for everything you need and want, as well as a lot of really nice small restaurants all within walking distance. If you are coming to Capri, you should definitely stay in Anacapri if you want to avoid crowds and this hotel is the perfect place to do it!

This is a very nice hotel! Prior to our trip I was worried sick about it due to a handful of scathing reviews - SERIOUSLY, something is sketchy about those bad reviews. Our room was the most affordable room so it was on the lower level - the lighting is bright and the hallways and room were spotless. We had zero issues with mustiness or mold, it did not feel like a basement at all. The room was normal size for Italy. It was very quiet and I slept great. We did not order room service, because the restaurant that serves breakfast each morning was lovely and the staff there was very good as well. The buffet breakfast was great! The pool was also very nice. I loved the location - could walk to shops, sidewalk cafes, the taxi stand. By US standards I would rate this a 4star hotel. I wasted so much energy worrying about this hotel because of previous bad reviews - I could not have been happier with our stay! Such a shame that people can hurt a business with unfair/untrue reviews.

Disappointing stay

We were disappointed in that the room we received was not the same look and feel as the room in the pictures that my wife reserved.
Our room was below ground, felt as if we were in a dormitory. Because of the layout, our terrace opened up to the walkway at street level. One morning we were greeted by the sounds of bottles falling onto our terrace because the trash cans were above us on the walkway.
The staff was very friendly but the hotel was a bit of a disappointment.

The reception staff were very helpful! When we arrived in Capri we were disappointed to find out that our boat tour of the island had been cancelled. The concierge went out of her way to help us find a new tour. She also sent us a fruit plate to enjoy by the pool, which was very kind and made a great impression. The pool was very relaxing and not crowded at all. When we arrived to our room it was obvious that it had been freshly mopped, which we appreciated. Everything was very clean and we loved the Roberto Cavalli bath products that were provided. Breakfast was included in our stay. The buffet had lots of great options and everything was very fresh. We didn’t have enough time to order anything made-to-order but those options also sounded great.

Our family of three stayed 3 nights. It's a clean hotel with friendly staff. I was expecting a 5-star hotel so I was disappointed: it's a solid 4 stars. So it felt pretty expensive for what we got but at the same time it was perfectly fine as a place to sleep. The location was also very walkable to the bus and taxi area, so that is a huge plus. And I should note that the breakfast staff are fun people!

Horrible staff, don’t listen, non-flexible, stubborn staff. Called hotel prior within 36 hours to arrival to arrange private car service as there was a random taxi strike, was told I should schedule a week in advance. How was I supposed to know taxis would strike in Italy entirely.
2)Refused to consider upgrade. Refused late checkout despite ALL of prior issues and me being Expedia gold member
3) totallly mishandled and wrongly booked by ferry from Capri to Naples- booked backwards- such that I had to pay AGAIN for her illiteracy. Can supply papers upon request.
4) no irons in this hotel. AND beware the “classic” room is the basement with moths.

For a five stars hotel, my stay was three stars at best. The good things about the hotel, the lady that checked in was very kind and gave us a tour of the hotel. The porter delivered the luggages to our room which was a nice touch. The check out and breakfast time were later than most places so that another plus. Everything went downhill from there. We booked a deluxe room and our room was in the same floor as the reception area next to staff room. It was very noisy. We can hear people coming and going all hours of the night. At breakfast, option was very limited and the staff was very slow. The guests pretty much needed to ask the staff for everything ex coffee or juice as these things were not displayed. My husband ordered an omelet which took forever to come that we almost wanted to cancel. A guest next to me ordered a pancake that she canceled due to delay. The breakfast staff was not attentive to us and i don’t know they gave the vibes that they didn’t want to serve us. We didn’t come back for breakfast for the remainder of our stay. During checkout we noticed the staff offering guests that were checking Prosecco champagne which were not offer to us. Lastly, we stored our luggages and the porter couldn’t find our luggages after two attempts so my husband had to go with him to locate them.
Overall for a five starts hotel. It was very disappointing and next time i wouldn’t be staying here.

Smelly drains and £30 shirt ironing? Get out.

We stayed in the suite with a terrace and hottub which didn’t have the view as advertised however the hottub was great. Unfortunately we had a few issues with the stay, there was a bad smell of drains in the hotel lobby and inside of the hotel which we, and other guests, complained about during our stay. We also had an issue with the toilet not flushing, hottub not being turned off during the night or maintained by the staff and also being charged for an iron. Paying nearly £1600 for two nights to then be charged £30 for 2 ironed shirts was frankly a pisstake. Great staff, however poorly managed and certainly not a 5 star hotel.

The property was very nice and staff treated us well . My husband and I were on our honeymoon so we decided to splurge on staying at one of the nicest hotels on the island . When we entered our room we were VERY disappointed in our room . It was at the end of the hallway ,corner room. It had zero view and no sunlight ! This was our most expensive hotel of our trip and our least favorite room ! We asked for an upgrade but there were no other rooms available at the time and they never got back to us of any becoming available..

We just spent three and a half days at the Melia in Anacapri and it was great. The hotel was great, the staff was extremely friendly, and the spa was really nicel, we got massages the day before we left. If you are interested in visiting the island and staying on the quieter side this is a great high end hotel if you are looking for more action and people then stay on the Capri side, when we come back to Capri we will definitely stay here again. This hotel is the perfect choice for a couple looking for a nice quiet, clean, and friendly stay in Capri. We were on our wedding anniversary and wanted complete relaxation (adult only hotel), the staff was really great and very helpful in every aspect.

The rooms are not exceptionally large, but very nicely decorated and very clean. The pool is great with constant service provided as needed.

We enjoyed staying in Anacapri vs town of Capri as it felt slightly more quiet and more intimate. Buses and taxis connect the two towns and Anacapri has plenty of great restaurants, shops and little walk streets. Also recommend visiting the incredible Villa San Michele which sits on top of Anacapri. Great story about the history of island.

We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Fantastic staff, rooftop private terrace amazing!

Fantastic hotel, the room was very comfortable with a great layout and a really interesting large bath tub. Staff left cookies each afternoon and chocolates with the turn down service. We ate multiple meals, the food and service were excellent. We booked both our transportation home and a boat rental for the day and the front desk staff was excellent in assisting with both. Overall this hotel made our stay in Capri very romantic and a memory we'll look back on fondly.

This is a very nice modern hotel in a enchanted area of Anacapri. We received excellent service from the staff at the front desk and at the pool. The latter is quite relaxing and beautiful. The views from the rooftop terrace are amazing. The bar is a great place to be at in the evening, with a terrace and fine teas as well. From the hotel, we could walk to all the town of Anacapri and the tourist attractions; such as Villa San Michele and the chairlift to to top of the town, both not to be missed.

Lovely hotel close to everything

Lovely staff super room couldn't do enough for us very peaceful preferred anacapri to Capri town loved the contrast of quietness and hustle and bustle. Centre of Capri just a short bus ride or can away divine

Terrible odor in room

We prepaid for a Junior suite ie with in room Jacuzzi On arrival and escort into our room we immediately noticed a foul plumbing and or mechanical odor. We advised our escort and they indicated they would have maintenance check it out. Come to find out maintenance could not look at the issue until morning We were there for 1 day prior to heading to Positano. we were advised to turn off the air conditioning and open the garden doors - we were on ground floor. This was not always possible as when we were changing we would be seen by people enjoying the garden and pool During the night we kept the doors open as advised and were bitten by flying bugs. The Jacuzzi did not work, when we advised staff, they said 'it requires maintenance'. The shower was clogged causing water to escape and toilet didnt flush. The staff while wonderful could not fix the problem. This was an expensive cost and we were looking so forward to the pampering that price tag carries - we were left very dissapointed.

Nice but not worth the money

Relatively new and nice hotel with a semi-modern design, but lacks that Italian charm we were expecting.
Hotel staff and housekeeping are all very nice and friendly!
Overall, it's not quite a $500/night hotel. From a business perspective, the hotel management is trying to save and squeeze every cent out of the visitors pocket:

-housekeeping folds up wet towels back on the rack, instead of replacing with fresh clean towels (unless you specifically ask for new ones);
-in our room: the toilet tank water was running the entire time, which became a nuisance every night. And, the TV and jacuzzi shower didn't work. All of which remained that way even after a repair visit.
-the (3 story) building has a decent rooftop, but, while showing off their amenities during the grand tour, they don't tell you using the rooftop costs *90 euros* per day for just one section (partial day is less);
-pretty overpriced food/drinks (even more than Capri's tourist traps). A chicken club sandwich while relaxing on the poolside sounds really good, until the sandwich arrives with literally only 4 very small pieces of chicken (not breast, dark meat), filled with tomatoes;
-they will happily book a boat tour upon request, but, it will also happily be *60 euros* more expensive than any other place;
-there's a nice turkish bath and steam room downstairs, BUT, they won't tell you during the glorious tour that it costs *50 euros*;

Boutique hotel with a great mountain view

We had a wonderful stay at the Melia while we were in Capri. The pool is beautiful and the view from the pool area is breath taking. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. We were able to take advantage of the spa while we were staying. The Detox treatment was so relaxing, I would rank my massage, facial and body scrub as one of the best spa treatments I've had. Breakfast was pretty good and there were lots of options on the buffet with additional items to order.

Capri in general is more expensive than other places in Italy but the Melia was a great value compared to the other hotels.

Lovely hotel

This hotel is really lovely and the staff are very attentive. I probably would not stay here again though purely because of the location (Anacapri). Once the surrounding area was explored (all in one evening) there wasn't much else to do or see. Next time I visit Capri I will stay in Capri town where there is plenty to see and is quite lively.

Great location, friendly staff, but a few \"buts

The hotel is in a great location and overall we had a lovely stay. The hotel is quiet and the pool area is beautiful and relaxing (although the water was quite cold); the pool attendant really looked after us, as did the front desk staff. The \"buts\" are as follows: we found the bathroom nice to look at but very gimmicky and hard to get the taps, plugs etc to work (we had to ask for maintenance to get everything to work); the safe electronics were loose so maintenance had to fix that too; the spa is nice but the staff's seeming lack of English language skills resulted in a mix up in bookings and the sports massage very weak pressure; perhaps the biggest \"but\" was that despite saying that the hotel is adults-only there were 2 or 3 children staying at the hotel - it didn't affect our stay but the marketing as an adults-only hotel was misleading.

Nice hotel in quiet Anacapri

Nice newer hotel, but probably falls short of truly 5-star. Refused to provide ironing board 'for safety reasons' however shower door literally fell on me as was not fixed properly. Did not provide any vanity kit and reception had to be reminded twice before they did. On the positive side, which outweighs the negative, good pool, breakfast and location in quiet Anacapri away from the crowd.

Fantastic luxury hotel in superb Anacapri location

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Melia Villa. Hotel is located on a pedestrian street a short walk away from the main square in Anacapri - in the evening once the day-trippers had gone the place was a real oasis of calm. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and helped make our stay really memorable. Breakfast buffet is huge, with Champagne, freshly made croissants, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses and much more. Restaurant and bar are both very good indeed and surprisingly good value considering the prices on Capri in general. We made use of the pool and spa which were both excellent (although the massages were a little expensive, at least by UK standards). Rooms are clean, modern and well-appointed, if a little small if you opt for a standard room. On the last night of our stay however we were upgraded to the Roman Suite which had a Jacuzzi and a view of the pool. Overall, an amazing experience that neither of us will forget!

Good location. Small room.

Unfortunately form won over function. The tub/shower had mold around the hardware. The sink splashed water ALL over my clothes twice. The shower was difficult/dangerous. The jet tub made a clicking sound for some time. BUT, the staff was lovely and the pool was fantastic!

Italy trip

This was a fine hotel. Very well located in the middle of Anacapri. We did not eat in the restaurant but heard good things about the food. You have to walk from the roadway to the hotel but that was no big deal. All in all a very nice stay and hotel.
