The hotel is on top of a shopping complex which is convenient but can make it hard to find. Didn’t particularly enjoy my stay. The hotel doesn’t feel like a 4 star.

Feel like we got catfished by this hotel.

Was a mistake with the room key on check in which was a bit of a faff going back and forwards to sort.

The room was not really very clean, the bathroom door was filthy and it was just kinda grimy.

We had the deluxe studio with 2 bathrooms, 1 of the showers was broken with water only coming out half the shower head.

1 of the kitchen cupboards was also broken.

It is very noisy, banging all night.

No blackout curtains and they barely closed together to cover the windows with a lot of artificial light outside making it extremely light in the room even at night.

No ceiling fan or AC in the main bedroom either. This coupled with all the light in the room that we couldn’t block out made it very difficult for us to sleep.

Definitely not our favourite hotel of the trip.

Property was ok. Booked for three nights. We had a medical emergency on day two of our stay and had to depart early the next morning to take a bus to the nearest ER hospital in Kuala Lumpur. Called Expedia to see if we could cancel the last night of our booking for a credit, but this hotel would not allow it. We lost the last night of our booking, but we did make it to the hospital for treatment. Hopefully, you won't have an emergency like we did, but if you do, be aware that this hotel will not be understanding and let you amend your booking.

For family, go for 2 bedroom suite, it is spacious, quiet and easy access to playground. This hotel is on top of a shopping complex and the shopping options are nice and cheap. Also ground level of this property has many food options including a pizza. Walking distance are more food options including Indian vegeterian and a small night market.

The location of the hotel is good. The employees lack training and hotel business skills. The cleanliness of the room is bad although it’s a fairly comfortable hotel. The hotel is well located within a 5-minutes walk to the bus terminal & taxi office of Tanah Rata. It's also located right in the mall so self-service laundry, food and amenities are all easily accessed from the hotel.

The room we had has a beautiful view into the mountains, just remember that you will need to either have a tour or taxi driver to move around Cameron Highlands.

It's our first-time in Cameron Highlands but definitely recommended stay!

the only good point is the size of the room n complimentary car park. Breakfast selection is limited n average. Tv program is also limited. No tissue paper in the room except toilet roll . Bring your own body wash as they only provide soap n shampoo. Can hear dog barking , motorcycles n even when people pass by your door. Booked 3 rooms with specific names n bed setting but they disregard it and anyhow assigned. Told us to sort out ourselves when told with no apology. When checked out , normally staff will assure deposit on hold will be cancelled n some will tear the charge slip but this one does not offer any info n I had to ask.

I strongly suggest deep cleaning for the fabrics of the divan and couch in the studio. Very unpleasant odor I must say!
Breakfast choices would have been better I think.

Very Deceiving, horrible experience.

Should be rated 1*. Pictures are deceiving. Heaters don’t work. Staff are clueless. The breakfast was amazing but that’s about it. This place is above a shophouse. Imagine children having to shower with cold water when the heaters don’t work? The rooms are average for the money. Staff cannot be bothered with technician nowhere to be found when complained about equipment.

I can't comprehend how Avillion Cameron Highlands is rated as a 4-star hotel. As soon as you walk into the room, all you smell is mildew. The were bug guts or something on the walls, cobwebs all over the desk lamp, dead bugs on the floor, bathroom sink was stained and mildewed. The towels were stained and they gave us 2 floor towels but no hand towels. Bed was damp and uncomfortable. The room however was super spacious and the breakfast was decent with a large selection. Hotel has potential, but definitely jot worth what we paid.

We were given a different room after complaining which was all they had left, two single beds rather than the King Room we had booked and no concessions offered. We booked this hotel in a hurry based on its central location and attractive offer from Hotels.com without having read any reviews which on hindsight was probably an error. We found the room full of dirt and hair. When we informed reception, they did, to their credit, immediately send a cleaner, who we left to sort the room out. However on our return late at night, we still found substantial amount of hair in corners of the bathroom. The worst part was discovering the bed sheets to be dirty and too disgusting even to think now of what we thought were on the sheets.
Fortunately the bed sheets in the second bedroom was clean, which was just as well as we were too tired to send for the hotel staff at that time. On check out the next morning when we mentioned this at reception we were advised to fill in a complaints form, which we sadly did not have the time for, although it was disappointing that our verbal complaint alone was not deemed sufficient enough to warrant any affirmation of corrective action.
On the plus side, in terms of room size and amenities, the hotel offers good value for money. The hotel is relatively new and has the potential to live up to its current 4 star rating, which it certainly does not deserve right now. I seldom write reviews and we have been travelling in Asia for the last two years, but felt this time that my comments might prompt future customers to at least check the bed sheets as a priority rather than leaving it late as we did!

Just a night stay

Booked king bed but was told it was unavailable during the time i checked in. upgraded my room to bigger twin room accessible to children playground via the room. Just a bit noisy when children wake up a little bit early than us. One of the bed has strong foul-smell that i believed could be children's wetty by previous guest. Hope that the hotel can take note and be extra careful in this hygiene issue. Breakfast was decent.

Hotel rooms do not have air conditioning. Up in Highland it is very humid. Our room C-11-03 on 3A floor was with musty smell.. The bathroom has urine smell. Clothing hung on rack inside room is wet. Linen is wet. It was not a plasant stay at all. The only good thing is the breakfast is not bad and our balcony looks over the mountain. Staff were friendly but housekeeping staff did not speak English.

A little strange in that it’s over a shopping mall, but once you find it, it’s great. Nice reception, rooms seem to be off a service corridor, but they are great. Massive, clean, everything worked, large bathroom and good shower. Great location too, easy to go out to get food, hawker stalls are good, give it a go.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, clean room. It is well located in Tanah Rata so you can walk to a lot of restaurants and cafes in the area. We got an upgrade as it was low season which was very nice of the hotel management.

Although we didn't have any issues at the hotel here is what we didn't like: The room smelled of dampness a lot which was unpleasant. I am not sure if its an issue of the building or just the room we had. Also the hotel looks like it used to be an old community building so there was quite some noise. We could hear well people walking and talking in the corridors.

Also, if you want a continental breakfast, there are limited choices at the breakfast buffet

Hotel location was great with surrounding full of outlets in walking distance...front office duty manager Raja Hanis was not so accommodating with our queries and we were not treated as guest.. as for breakfast.. the manager attending is not welcoming with no smile or simple morning greeting and smile.. again we do not feel like a guest.. however the other restaurant staffs were great..food was OK.. can be better with more choice for the price paid. parking is free.. rooms can be a bit more cleaner.. overall I enjoyed my stay..
