It was fresh and service was excellent. Compared to the dinner menu the quality was not as good and could be improved in terms of quality and flavour. Room cleaning was excellent! Staff were all delightful. No pool, but why would you with such an amazing beach

Pick up from arrival, welcome drink, good breakfast, beach bungalow vibe with AC, next to Forever restaurant which has great vegetarian options!
Private beach almost empty in mornings but can get busy in afternoon as they advertise to people not staying at hotel. Smile was awesome and got me an in room massage. Love the staff

Jacuzzi Ocean View - Would Recommend

We stayed in the Jacuzzi Ocean View Suite.

What you are paying for is the view - and It is incredible. Looking out onto the crystal clear waters from your bed is quite magical and It's the best view we've had from a hotel during our travels. The room itself is very nice, clean and comfortable, with good air con, however note the bathroom is open to the outside so that can be quite hot and humid. There is a small private beach which is nice and quiet and they offer free kayak and snorkel equipment for you to use.

What was lacking was the extra touches. The room we were promised via email prior, was no longer available. The staff although very friendly, spoke very little English, so most requests were left with a blank look, even requesting the free shuttle bus back (written in english on a sign) was confusing. We were charged extra items upon checkout and also the first key to our room didn't work. Distance to the walking street is further than expected. All of these are minor issues, but I raise them only because of the price of the room.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for the views alone. Koh Lipe is a very small island and this is a great option for a romantic trip.

The front staff no communication and very bad services. They did not inform clearly information or options for the customers. Only reaturant 's staffs and beach staffs have good service mind. Cleanliness of the room not so good, after they made up the room not checked peoperly still left used towers in the room and never fiiled up the new tower. It was under my expectation for Lipe trip this time.

We had the best stay at the Cliff Lipe! We loved:
1) Food! Breakfast is included and is delicious.
2) Beach: is very private. Only a handful of people all throughout the day on the beach.
3) Snorkelling: there are a lot of fishes/coral reefs on their beach
4) Staff: SO friendly and they take care of you to make sure everything is good. Charlie is the best
5) The view from the resort is amazing

A few things to note:
1) It is a bit of a walk from the walking street. The distance is not too far, but walking in the 35 degree weather made it a bit harder. But the resort is a short walk to Pattaya beach
2) We stayed in the Deluxe room (one that didn't have a private pool). The resort itself does not have a pool.

Overall, we had a great time here and would LOVE TO GO BACK!!

I think this review is for koh Lipe in general, it is pretty much mosquito infested at the best of times and since the island is so small there is very little to do here in the low season. The staff here were amazing, friendly, and very helpful. There were some problems with my room, namely the safe did not work and had to be replaced and the bathroom roof leaked which shorted out the bathroom light.

Be aware that everything on the island cost at least double what it does anywhere else in Thailand seemingly. Also getting to and from the island is a bit of an ordeal.

Strengths:
- Very friendly and welcoming staff
- Amazing view from the villa (pool villa) and the restaurant area
- Quite private beach ideally located to enjoy the sunset
- Complimentary snorkeling and kayaking equipment
- Nice music playlist at the beach and restaurant areas
- Pool villa #2: comfortable bed, nicely designed bathroom and huge terrace

To be improved:
- Pool villa #2 lacks of privacy. I would recommend to further hide the private pool from the path to the restaurant area
- Pool villa #2: bedroom a bit small

The surrounding of resort is really beautiful and tranquil. I am very impressed by the staff; they are very helpful, warm, spontaneous and service minded. Breakfast and room service are good. I really really enjoy my stay here and had a memorable holidays ! Would definitely come back again !

The Cliff on Ko Lipe Island

It was a great room view of the sea and the harbor. But queen bed was actually full size bed. There's no night stand/draws to put your things. After two days, we discovered room windows could not be locked.
1st day we got there, hot water heater didn't work. They got service to replace it (but you were in room while worker's working, he had to turn off the air con while he's on it. It was 90F).
Then TV set didn't work, which they said it would take 15 days to fix. So we settled to watch 3 out-dated DVD movies.
The beach is small but very private, with a little Tikki bar,beach floor mats, kayak,life jackets and snorkeling gadgets.You don't get the sun rises but you have good sunset view.
The staffs for food service were very nice; restaurant's open deck has a great view.
But after 8pm nobody answered the phone. There seemed only a few people stayed at the hotel when we were there.
Front desk personnel were cold, for amenities we supposed to get, they just kept saying "I'm sorry"..., nothing's done for it.
Its location is far from the main drag, but you could walk down the hill, walked 5 min on the beach to get to the main street.
When we moved out, I forgot my Google phone charger by the bed.I emailed them right away after we settled in a different hotel, emailed twice, showed up at their front desk asking for it, they kept refusing to look for it, and even get annoyed...!

Switched to their sister hotel The Breeze

The Cliff contacted us the week of our travels and informed us that we'd have to move our lodging to their sister hotel called The Breeze on Koh Lipe. Initially we were very disappointed as we were very much looking forward to staying at The Cliff. In the end, we came away satisfied as they reimbursed us the difference in cost along with a free sunset dinner at The Cliff, which was very nice.
Their sister location The Breeze was conveniently located 1 minute walk from the beach and also close to Walking Street. The service was superb and the room was clean. The one area that needs improvement was that the free wifi connection at The Breeze would not work from our room location, only from the lobby area. All in all I would definitely come back to stay at The Breeze as the room was very comfortable.

Nothing as described in the Beach Side Ocean Room

On arrival receptionist asked us what took as so long to get to the resort, no very welcoming person.
We got to the room which wasn't cleaned, there was dust everywhere, dirty shower with almost no water pressure. In the room there was a dump on the walls. One of the blinds was broken and we have been told that they might be able to fix it the next day??? That is what you get for a room which costs over £100 a day...
Also, the light outside on the balcony wasn't working...
The room was located next to the toilets and the smell was really unpleasant.
We decided to have some food in the restaurant and it was really overpriced and not nice at all. I think it was the worst green curry I had in Thailand.
We were very disappointing with the place and left the next morning. We decided to go back to our previous resort.
Overall, we have stayed in many places in Thailand, and we have never experienced something like that resort.

Amazing place

Great hotel outside of the main hotel areas in the Island. Feels very private and quiet. It is still a short walk on the beach away from the walking street and all the restaurants. Does have a small beach with access to the ocean. Great breakfast included.
We stayed in a room with a hot tub on the terrace. Very private, no way for anyone to see into the terrace. The bed is extremely comfortable and looks out into the ocean and neighboring islands. The hot tub is very clean and comfortable however it does take a long time to fill up and we never could get it to be hot enough.
All in all a great place to stay with a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff and terraces with an amazing view.

The stay was great and the view from our room was like a dream. The staff is very professional and helpful specially a guy named Charlie. The only thing we had concerns about was the monkeys that visited us occasionally. They tend to show up early in the morning and sometimes in the middle of the day which led us not to be able to use the balcony as we wanted. How ever the staff helped us true the situation.

Nous avons réservé via hôtels.com.pour 2 adultes et un enfant de 10 ans. A notre arrivée, on nous annonce que nous devons payer un supplément de 1500 baths pour un lit supplémentaire, en plus des 20 euros déjà payés lors de la reservation! Nous avons refusé. Un lit supplémentaire nous a été mis à disposition gratuitement compte tenu de notre réclamation. Celui ci était un vulgaire matelas en piteux état posé a même le sol sur un tapis dans un état de saleté plus que dégoûtant !

L'état général de chambre n est pas à la hauteur du prix appliqué : salle de bain sale et très rudimentaire (pas de bac à douche ni de rideaux comme dans un hostel), la tête de lit est trouée et a été rafistolée avec du scotch, les draps sont troués etc etc

En cas de mauvais temps, le petit déjeuner est servi au bar où la climatisation est constamment branchée a une température digne du pôle nord et les plats servis sont sans aucune saveur avec un choix très réduit.

Notre expérience est en chambre de luxe vue jardin. Il semblerait que les autres hébergements soient dvun tout autre standing

Bref, un séjour à oublier

L'hotel è nella zona più incontaminata e tranquilla dell'isola con una piccola spiaggia privata sul tratto di mare a mio parere più bello di koh lipe. A nuoto o in kayak in pochi minuti si raggiungono le poche calette isolate lontano dai resort. Avevo un bunglow garden de luxe con bagno alla maldiviana, arredamento tipico thai, veranda con divano e veranda con amaca. Tutto immerso in un giardino lussureggiante e curato. La colazione, come spesso accade in Thailandia, non è perfettamente aderente ai gusti europei (assomigliano a quello che per noi può essere un pranzo) ma fatta sulla terrazza a picco sul mare è ottima. Il ristorante per la cena è ottimo con prezzi di poco superiori alla media. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile, attento alle esigenze degli ospiti. Per raggiungere pattaya beach c'è un percorso alternativo alla strada principale molto semplice: 15 minuti di passeggiata e si arriva in walking street. E' stato un soggiorno molto piacevole e se tornassi a koh Lipe, tornerei al Cliff Lipe senza dubbio.

Amazing but...

So, this is a difficult hotel to rate. The hotel itself (location, surroundings) is amazing! Even though there was other hotels close by you did not notice them at all! The restaurant and bar had an amazing view and the private beach with snorkelling (as a guest you can borrow gear, towels and kayaks for free) is one of the best beaches in Koh lipe, no longtails + not a lot of people since the hotel is quite small! The staff in the bar/restaurant and down at the beach bar were super helpful and very nice! The distance from walking street was actually a plus for us, the hotels at Pattaya and sunrise felt cluttered and no possibility’s of snorkelling! The “cabs” were super easy and great with a fixed price (50 bath per person). The hotel also offered free shuttle at appointed times in the evening.

Our issue with this hotel was the cleaning and the room. Things were not refilled when they cleaned, cleaning was making the bed and if we were lucky - a new toilet roll. We had to ask for both toilet roll and shampoo/shower gel which feels like it should not be an issue. The water in our bathroom ran out a couple of times and when we told we felt that there was a lack of communication from the front office - but is might have been a language barrier.

All in all this hotel is amazing much thanks to the location and beach and if they improve the state and cleaning of the rooms it would be even better!

Utrolig vakker utsikt og bra service!!

Utrolig fint hotell, om man velger de fineste rommene. Stranden til hotellet var fin, og kort avstand til flere andre strender.
Avstanden til sentrum/walking street er litt i det lengste laget for å gå, men de tilbyr deg skyss! Maten i restauranten var alltid bra. Helt utrolig utsikt, og vi kommer til å bo her igjen!! Super fornøyde!!

Wonderful and amazing experience

Was unsure of what awaited us when we arrived at Cliff Lipe after a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride on a little less good roads, we had booked a "private pool" room and would stay for 6 nights. It turned out that it would be the best 6 nights on our trip, what a view, what a nice sunset and so quiet. There is absolutely nothing to complain about regarding this hotel and those who do it will never be happy anyway, ALL who worked at the hotel were very nice, always greeted and gave different tips. Charlie (from India) was especially a very nice person who, among other things, took care of the breakfast, talkative and a lovely personality. The hotel has a secluded but good location with its own small beach for snorkeling or if you want to canoe. Just outside the hotel is a hill that leads down to Pattaya beach and after a 10 minute walk on the beach you are at "Walking Street" where all the restaurants and nightlife are available (if you don't want to walk, the hotel offers free transport). As everyone else commented, the view is incomparable and it was a real pleasure to have breakfast there every morning, thank you Charlie and other staff. If we arrive at Koh Lipe again, we will also end up at Cliff Lipe again, no doubt.

Don't forget Charlie and the Riff

Das mit Abstand beste Hotel in Koh Lipe überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Barkeeper namens Charlie ist Legende dort ✌️👌. Bester Barkeeper dem man sich wünschen kann. Der erfüllt einem fast einen jeden Wunsch 😊. Und wer Ruhe suhht ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Genau so zum Riff ein besseres gibt es auf lipe nur mit den Diving tours alles andere ist naja nicht so schön und die Sonnen untergänge ein Traum.

Essen könnte für die Preise bisschen mehr sein und besser. Getränke und cocktails absolut Top ich mag persönlich keinen Pina colada doch hier hat er Sogar mir geschmeckt 😍👌.

Hotellet ligger så fint till med världens finaste utsikt. Fantastiskt att avnjuta frukosten och se ut över havet. Ligger på lugna sidan av koh lipe men ingick gratis transfer till stan om man behövde gick ju bra att promenera oxå. Personalen är väldigt gästvänliga. Negativa är att det fortfarande är vissa delar av hotellet som inte är klara, och har man svårt att gå i trappor är detta inte att rekommendera. Men överlag var vi supernöjda.

Perfekt hotell för romantisk getaway

Fantastiskt hotell med helt magnifik utsikt över vattnet det första du ser när du öppnar ögonen. Jättefint hotellområde med vacker privat strand. Enda minuset var att de va ganska dyrt att äta dricka plus ingen vidare hotellfrukost. Men hotellet i helhet vägde upp alla minus. Perfekt för par som vill njuta av en romantisk vistelse. Inget vidare för barnfamiljer massa branta trappor.
