Excellent property, well maintained grounds. Right in front of beach and 2mins walk to walking street entrance.

Very quiet, well sized villa with large garden balcony, living room with a large sofa and master bedroom. Toilet is large sized with jacuzzi bathtub too

Large swimming pool with swim up bar and ample deck chairs. Breakfast was not extravagant but sufficient in varied choices.

Wouldnt mind staying here again on my next visit

I was actually surprised how just great this place was - exceeded my expectations.

The rear of the property feels a bit “big-hotel-y”, with “
large two storey blocks of rooms built around pools. Which may suit some, but is not my thing personally.

But luckily the front half, including where the Villa Suites I stayed in are located, is much nicer - open & spacious, low-rise, beautiful tropical gardens.

The staff are terrific - better than even the typically high standard in Thailand.

Pattaya Beach here, and to the west, is lovely. It goes downhill as you go east from here.

The only constructive criticisms I can make are:

The hotel wastes / really should make better use of its beachfront. It’s covered in tables - that no one uses during the day - rather than sun beds and similar. Put sunbeds on the beach during the day, swap for tables in the evening, and it would be so much better.

Food & drink prices are pretty outrageous unfortunately, even by the standards of higher end places on Lipe. This does leave a bit of a sour taste.

More lights in the bathroom, particularly around the mirror, would be appreciated (the simple fact I’m listing this shows how little there is to criticise, though!).

We had some rude Chinese guests that kept coming to our pool perch. The hotel helped us changed rooms which was better. Unfortunately they were still loud in the private areas of the pool. Maybe the hotel staff can help enforce quiet zone areas more.
Overall we loved the island & hotel. Staff very nice!

What a beautiful place to stay! The staff, location and accommodation were excellent. We stayed in a pool access room. It was luxuriously huge and having the access to the extensive pool network, you rarely saw another person. Food at the restaurant was top quality and the 4-8pm buy 1 get 1 cocktails were lovely. The grounds are a tropical paradise and they look after your ferry transfers inward and outward. Thank you to the team!

The sand was super fine and water at the beach was clear and beautiful. There were however many boats hovering around the beach that did not give it a private beach feel. Very convenient to get to the walking street for more food options but food at the hotel was good & reasonable priced. Staff service was good as most of them could speak English. A reception staff Mida was especially helpful & welcoming.

The front of the hotel, restaurant, pool and bar are really nice. The beach is nice too. The rooms near the front, which are villas, are all impressive looking and are probably pretty nice. The rooms towards the back are like a holiday inn and do not make you feel like you are on a cool island like Koh Lipe. I do not recommend those rooms. The hotel does an outstanding job at the daily breakfast. This hotel is run pretty well.

Great hotel and great staff. You can tell the hotel pays great attention to detail. Staff picked us up at the pier and gave us welcome drinks a wet towel for instance.

Just one major issue; during breakfast, the egg and bacon was fried on the same pan and the same grill and hence, I couldn't eat the eggs. Some guests may not eat bacon or may be vegetarian. Coming from Europe, I was shocked to see this. Thailand may be more relaxed about these things but considering hotel serves guests from all over the world, I think they should pay attention to this.

Great pool side rooms and facilities. But the restaurant and service leave a lot to be desired. We attempted to eat at the hotel a few times for lunch and dinner. Each time it resulted in a 1.5-2 hour wait for cold food or us cancelling our order and finding street food.

Stay for the great pools but make sure to research better dinner options.

This is an amazing property. Beautiful view of the beach , awesome pools , 3 in all , so none were crowded. Rooms are spacious and new. We had asked for an extra bed, which was already set up in the room. I would recommend staying on the ground floor with direct access into the pool. Those rooms were nicer. The breakfast is vast and very nice.
I only have two complaints - we were there 3 days and the cleaners came very day to clean the room , but didnt clear the fruit plate, banana skins were lying in the room for 3 days till I finally kept them outside the room to clear. Secondly the tea bags and coffee sachets were not replenished when they got over.

Honeymoon story:
We arrived to Kho Lipe on December 11th after escaping the disappointment that is Phi Phi after only one day on that Island. The “resort” we booked on Phi Phi was terrible and super remote from everything so we decided to checkout early and get on a speedboat to Lipe. Trying to make things better, I was looking for a clean and relaxing resort close to the beach. I came across Akira and it looked promising enough so I booked it for two nights because we already had a reservation with a different resort on the island for 4 nights beginning December 13.
BY FAR the best decision we’ve made during our time in Thailand!
The staff is amazing! The front desk, the bell boys the bartenders, housekeeping and especially Eak (the food and beverage manager) who was SO accommodating to us because we didn’t have much to eat as we are Vegan. He went out of his way and made sure the kitchen prepares a vegan Curry for us.
The pool is super clean and inviting and there is happy hour (but 1 get 1 free) EVERY Day from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.
We got to the room (#623-second level room with a separate pool downstairs, right next to the Gym and Kids Club) and it was the cleanest we’ve seen.
All of the amenities and facilities are kept in a SUPERB condition and the maintenance crew is always around to help.
Fast forward to the 13th, we checked out and got to the other resort. We took one look and turned around back to Akira. We booked the Villa for 4 more nights (:

if booking during hurricane season

Due to a hurricane, we (4 of us, had booked 2 suites) could not reach the island and boats were cancelled for the next few days. When we contacted the resort, the hotel management did not care.. even during a natural calamity (note that this disaster was on the front page news, Aug2019)...forget a refund for the cancellation they were not even ready for rebooking the booked nights to another month! Atrocious customer care.

So if booking during hurricane season, dont expect any customer concern or care.

Beautiful and modern hotel right on the beach. The cleaners & gardeners were super friendly although the reception staff were just ok. It seemed that we were bothering them anytime we asked a question. Compared to other islands in Thailand and other Asian countries we were disappointed by this. Perfect accommodation for the perfect Lipe island

We booked this hotel because of its prime location on Pattaya Beach and proximity to the arrival platform. The moment we set foot on the island, we were pleasantly surprised as the hotel had arranged to pick us up so that we wouldn’t have to carry our luggage across the beach. They also offered to send us to the departure platform upon checkout.

The Superior room is very spacious and comes with a private balcony to soak up that gorgeous Lipe sun (and dry your clothes). Well equipped with amenities for beach activities - extra towels, 4 bottles of mineral water per day etc. Breakfast is included and you can enjoy the beach view while having it. The hotel also has a pool that overlooks Pattaya beach and is perfect for sunset viewing and happy hour drinks.

The hotel is also a 5-min walk from Walking Street which is the centre of your activities - eating, drinking, coffee, walking around, signing up for snorkelling and diving programs. Koh Lipe is such a well-preserved gem with clear waters and white sand, and a comfortable stay at Akira Lipe really complimented this perfectly. Highly recommended for its stellar service, facilities, accessibility - I would definitely stay here again.

Beachfront resort with private pools & cabanas

My boyfriend and I loved how close the public pool was to the beach. I went snorkeling and he went drinking by the pool bar while watching the world go by.

The rooms were sizeable and we enjoyed our privacy with rooms at the back. However the villas which were front of the property have very little privacy.

Great location as practically 2 mins walk from the Satun Pakbara Pier and Walking Street. Cleanliness was acceptable and when asked for insect repellent had a mosquito coil ready.

Breakfast is a good array of food and ambience of restaurant is warm and welcoming. Good concierge service and luggage transfer is a breeze. Will return and recommend to friends.

Big hotel good for family.

The hotel was brand new and very big - great for family. We were a couples and were hoping for a quiet, peaceful, romantic getaway so it wasn't the right place or right beach for us, especially during the high season. The hotel is in mint condition, clean and of central location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is very big and has ample space. We found the mattress and pillows not so comfortable though. The door of the room can be quite loud when closing and the whole floor can hear if one doesn't close door lightly. Our neighboring room was a family that was quite loud so we didn't have a pleasant stay. The door was banging all the time. Overall, there was nothing wrong with the hotel. It just wasn't what we were looking for.

The hotel location is good as it's quite near to walking street and next to the beach. I love the room and the pool so much! Breakfast is normal. But, the hot water is quite cold all the time and it's slightly hard to flush the toilet. And also, the hotel rate is slightly higher as compared to other islands in Thailand.

When we checked out, their credit card reader was not working and they would not let us leave them the card info to run later. They were pressuring us to go to an ATM to pay for our incidentals. We didn't have that kind of $ in our checking so that was not an option. Then the manager asked us \"well how much do you have?\" We felt like we were being scammed.

Meanwhile, the time to get to our ferry was running out. We ended up missing our ferry due to this mishap. Very disappointed with the manager at this resort. All the other staff, however, were lovely.

Indescribable. Seriously I don't know where to begin. I booked the pool access room. What a treat. Huge pool to do your laps....another big pool by the main reception...clear waters and lots of fishes. Loved the spacious room. Super clean... I really don't have any bad comments. It's just 5mins walk from the immigration

Beautiful resort in good location.

First impression was Akira was a beautiful resort on a beautiful, but slightly busy, beach. There is a lot of boat activity on Pattaya Beach. Speed boats picking up and dropping off visitors, long tail boats taking out snorkelers, and a few fishing boats. The first day, it seemed a bit distracting from the serenity of the place, but then it kind of seemed to fit in and didn't bother me at all. Swimming areas are roped off to keep all boats out.
Akira is in a great location as its only a few minute walk to the 'Walking Street' as well as many good beach restaurants. Tip: you don't need to bring any snacks or beverages; everything is available at little minimarts at slight markups ober mainland prices.

You want to stay here!!

We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. The was a minor issue with our room when we arrived but the manger quickly sorted it out. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and the cleaning staff was amazing (thank you ladies). The breakfast was great and the location is excellent! The only problem we had was that the bathtub leaked all over the floor and sometimes we had ants and mosquitoes in the room (not a major issue though). We stayed in a Diamond Villa (highly recommended).

Would definitely stay here again!

Xmas 2016 stay

faulted them on service. asked them to clean my room at 2pm for the 2nd time (after knowing that it hasn't been cleaned at 2pm) and we were aghast to find out at 8pm it still hasn't been cleaned. new towels were placed outside the door with mineral water. the toilet was still wet with sand particles on the floor.

alot of mosquitoes in the room. guess it is the same everywhere.

location is good. looks nice outside overall.

Great stay..nice hotel with pool

We stay at Akira for 2 nights. It was a good time . Great location, clean and nice room. We stay at pool access room. Very comfy spacious ..and buffet breakfast was nice. But some staffs can hardly understand English, hard to communicate..
