A wonderful stay in the second row back from the beach — the ideal spot, close to the sea yet peaceful. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly manager, Chicken, whose greeting set a lovely tone.

Sunrise Beach was beautiful, with plenty of sun loungers available each day. Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of cooked options, always fresh and satisfying.

Our room was large and comfortable, giving us lots of space to relax. The location is perfect: right on Sunrise Beach and just a short, easy walk to Walking Street for shops and restaurants.

A great stay with fantastic service and a setting we’d happily return to.

Booked garden bungalow but was upgraded to deluxe. Right on what is probably the nicest beach on the island. Lovely place for breakfast and a good breakfast it was! Staff are friendly and tours can be booked right at the counter at very competitive prices. Would definitely stay here again.

It's the second time we come to wapi in 2 years. It's a simple but great beach resort. You get nice bungalows with garden or beach. I prefer garden they are very clean and the garden too. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. They help you with usual travel stuff.

Also it's great for kids because of the trees on the beach, you won't have to worry too much because that protects them from sun.

We loved the calm and family like atmosphere. Often the Thai staff kids would join and play with mine. That's how it is and I like that.

There are only 2 downsides : mosquitoes (but that was all of koh lipe) and the fact that the air con was pointing on the bed.

A bit dissapointing as the reviews were very good. No one contacted me to arrange pick-up, had to get my own way to the hotel with 2 heavy suitcases. The staff members were friendly, but failed at pretty much all aspects of service. The beach of the hotel is basically a parking lot for boats, you can hardly see any water, just dozens of boats 1-2 metres apart. Breakfast was terrible. Overall ok to spend a night, but really nothing special compared to the resorts on the northern part of the island where all the beautiful nature is.

Excellent chilled beach resort in a perfect location. Stayed 4 nights in a beachfront bungalow and would totally recommend this resort. The beachfront bungalow was one of the best locations by far!
Breakfast was perfect with just the right choice and eggs cooked to order.
5 minutes walk to walking street area.
Great beach massage at the resort.
Big thank you to Chicken and the rest of the team - lovely staff always with a smile and happy to help.

Pretty and charming beachside bungalow resort on nice beach. Big clean rooms, cleaned and fresh towels every day. Basic Asian/Euro breakfast.
Wapi is on a beach where the long tail boats park up permanently. Can be noisy every time they go off somewhere and also this limits the swimming. You need to walk left up the beach for 10 minutes u get past the boats.

We really enjoyed the property and it's position close to the walking street. The restaurant is also very nice and well priced. There's everything you need:from beach towels, to diving gear, toys for children, kayaks. They are super nice too. I liked that the afternoon it has a lot of shade so you avoid burning and it's ideal if you have kids.

Only minor thing I did not like is that the air con was pointing to the bed and annoying. Some friends reported the same in another resort, so maybe it's an habit. Otherwise best resort ever.

The week we spent at Wapi Resort was the highlight of a month long trip to Thailand!

We stayed in one of the three beachfront bungalows.

The resort is well situated on Sunrise beach and just a few minute walk away from the Walking Street.

The room was clean and well equipped and had an amazing view from the spacious deck.

The combination of large Pine and Palm trees provide plenty of shade alongside the beach and there was plenty of very comfortable cushioned loungers.

The daily breakfast was great (as was lunch, albeit we only dined in the afternoon once during our stay as we spent most of time dining on the Walking Street).

The owners (Johann (SP?) and Boi) and EVERY one of their staff we encountered were AMAZING. That is what really sets this property apart.

They were very helpful with every aspect of our stay. Thank you for a wonderful week!

The perks is that it was right on the beach. And the beach was beautiful. The amenities were poor. The toilets didn’t really work and neither did the TV. Food at the restaurant was good. No taxi service from the ferry port, which seemed pretty standard for other hotels. This place wasn’t incredibly cheap. It’s a better bet to pay a bit more for an upgraded spot.

Stay at beachfront resort. Nice seaview and able to see sunrise everyday. Breakfast is good. Staffs are helpful and friendly. My room was prepared early for my early check in. Everyday having lunch at the resort restaurant due to prices are reasonable and foods are delicious. Very good location and short walk to walking street.
Compliment bicycle for you to cycle around the island. I am highly recommend this resort for it best hospitality. I will stay again if I am going to Koh Lipe in my next trip.

The hotel faciliteren look shappby compared to site pictures. Clearly no maintainance for a while. Main dissapointmen is the noise. I was in August and dozens and dozens of boats come and go every few minutes. It’s like camping in the middle of a big parking lot. Not what I was looking for. Clean and safe resort. Most of the rooms are standalone units. We were able to get a good rest any time of the day. A safe is provided to store your valuables. Hammocks are found at the beachfront. Really nice to relax at the beachfront watching sunrise. Love it to be able to walk around the resort barefooted. The owners and staff kept the place well. Breakfast is served at 7.30am. There may not be a wide breakfast selection but it has everything I love: porridge, rice/noodles, sausage, ham, cereals, yogurt, toast, coffee, tea, fruits, freshly squeezed juice and smoothie. There is a smoothie everyday. Their smoothie is a must try. A lady will take orders for eggs and bacon. There was no one to pick us up when we arrived at the pier. It may be because we did not state our arrival time. We paid 150 baht for a taxi from Sunrise pier (in front of the school) to Wapi. We went to Koh Kra several times during our stay. It was quiet and peaceful especially between 11am and 1pm. We tried swimming and kayaking to Koh Kra. Kayak is our preferred choice as it allows us to spend more time snorkeling around the island.

It was an enjoyable stay.

The rooms are very simple and quite dated but it's fine for just a 1-night stay and the bathroom is very clean. I was very grateful to the staffs that allowed us to leave our luggage at their front desk even though we've checked out 2 days ago and had returned to Langkawi to catch our night flight. The staffs also so willingly let us used their spare room to freshen up without charging (but we tipped) as we also have a baby with us. Excellent customer service.

We had a great time at Wapi Resort, it's a place to relax, right in front of the Sunrise Beach with good beach chairs/beds for you to enjoy. They give you discount for massages as well which I happily used. Room was comfortable, good bed, aircon working very well, TV with only one English channel (but who needs TV in a holiday), bathroom was not well maintained but good enough.
Breakfasts were good, and in general food at the restaurant was beautiful and well priced. Located at only 5 min walk to the walking street

The hotel is right on the beach on the "quiet" side of the island. But it's only an 800 meter walk to the other side if you like a bit more lively atmosphere. We enjoyed walking through the shops in the walking street, which is only a few meters from the hotel. Great food is only a block away from the hotel.

Farang owner is very rude and unfriendly

I could not say one thing good about this resort.
- Starting from the worse experience with the owner, who apparently does not know how to smile and has zero customer service. He insulted me for taking too much drinking water from the office and stated he did not care about me being sick and accused me of lying, and went on nagging about the cost of water on his hands. In reality, I was sick with bad food poisoning with low grade fever, and that was my first time taking the water - 1 bottle over the allowing 2. However, the policy says unlimited refill ( Perhaps military style management to get 2 bottles first, and walk back when done.. haha..). When I complained to others, he lied that he wasn't sure I was the resort's guest (He could simply ask, and not rude to anyone, guest or not). I asked around, thinking I caught him on a bad day, but I was told that's the way he is... just blunt, never smile, and very cheap.
- The beach front was too busy. I hoped for nice sand beach with nature, but it was packed with taxi boats parking all across the shoreline. Instead of breathing fresh air, you got boat exhaust.
- I got a garden bungalow. It was too small for comfort, only one person could walk around at a time.
- Bathroom is not nice and small with NO shower certain. So each time you shower, the entire room is wet and slippery.
- Constant smell of sewer outside bungalow
- Breakfast is very basic.
- Room cleaning service came late and do poor job.
- Lower rate = horrible staying

Wonderful beachfront bungalow

Loved our beachfront bungalow. Would highly recommend it. With a bamboo hammock just few steps away.... lazy chairs.... the beach was clear....although at certain times there are boats. Free snorkel....free life jacket....kayak for 100baht... free bicycle... I would recommend it. One of the reasonably priced beachfront bungalow.

Good Price for the Location

Overall, good for the price and location. The staff and owners are very nice and helpful. Only a few minutes walk to Walking Street and restaurants. The beach is also nice but it is a bit buggy so we walked down a couple hundred feet and there were much less ants and better snorkling. The A/C and hot water for the shower was also greatly appreciated.

That said, we found many mosquitoes and a water bug in our room even though we were careful to close our doors. The island is a bit rustic so that may be the norm but just something to keep in mind. Also, the wi-fi barely worked and could only connect for a few minutes a day but didn't have this problem at the other restaurants and resorts we visited.

A paradise worth visiting

The place is wonderful. Easy to access to walking street and restaurants nearby. Massage place is just at the beach and the price is cheaper compared to the others. As for island hopping get it from the resort itself as it belongs to the same owner and their service is great too. Staff is helpful and tried their best to accommodate our needs. The only problem is there is mosquitos everywhere so bring the repellent everywhere we go.

the hotel staff are nice, they are welcoming. the room is clean and fairly huge, I like the deco. they have free bike and snorkeling gear for rent and the beach is magnificent. they participate in the trash hero program whereby each guest were given one aluminium bottle during the period of stay, and provide unlimited drinking water refile to avoid consumer buying extra plastic bottles to pollute the island. the breakfast is nice, although having different food every morning would add you extra marks. the shower pressure is decent. like the place. if I were to come back again i'll stay here again!

Room was very clean and well-maintained. Slightly pricey but everything is expensive on Koh Lipe. Wapi is one of the better maintained resorts. The toilet has a strange odour at times but it wasn't extremely off-putting. Snorkels, flippers and bikes can be used for free. Kayaks can be rented at a good rate of 100 baht per hour. Overall, it was a good experience. Would recommend it if you can get a good price.

Wapi resort was a great find. We stayed in one of the beach front bungalows for 8 nights and could not have been happier, fantastic. The room had a huge bed, aircon, safe, ensuite, front porch with water gun to wash our feet. The beach was only a few meters away, with a massage hut just as close. What an amazing view. Breakfast was included with enough Varity to satisfy most people. The staff were very friendly and helpful, not all spoke great English but good enough. The restaurant wasn't open for dinner due to low season but hey restaurants are plentiful so no problem. The main thing to do at koh Lipe is swim and WOW warm clear water and coral only meters from the beach. Snorkel and flippers are available as well as tours for the same. The only thing that was a disappointment was not at Wapi but up and down the beach past Wapi there was a lot of rubbish as well as rubbish dumped on vacant land around Koh Lipe. They are working on this so hopfully it will improve and don't litter yourself.

The included breakfast is abysmal, something reminiscent of 1/2 star hotels of old.You could ask for an omelet but could only have a plain one and heaven forbid if you asked for say an omelet and a fried egg as that was more than one "set"so you couldn't have it. Toast was provided by 2 domestic toasters that had seen better days.The rest was inedible (apart from the fruit).
The resort is very close to the Chaoy Lay village and in particular the huge rubbish "ferry" that docks every day to deliver goods and pickup garbage that is piled by digger into a huge heap on the vessel. On one day of our 2 day stay we couldn't sit on the beach in front of our room due to the stench that was blowing over. Other people were sitting there with their mouths and noses covered.
Our room didn't get cleaned because apparently they didn't have a spare key to our room (not they they told us otherwise we'd have handed our key in to get the room cleaned).
The staff in the restaurant were just not bothered about doing anything much, although very on it if you forgot to take your beach shoes off. It was really the only time I saw them being pro-active.

Preis Leistung passt hier, Frühstück ist eher wenig Auswahl und der Zimmer Service ist so lala Boden wird sauber gemacht aber die Oberflächen wurden in 10 tagen nicht einmal gereinigt.

Strand ist in Ordnung viele schattige Plätze wasser im vorderen Bereich eher Dreckig.

Preise für Getränke im Hotel super und das was man beim Frühstück bekommen hat war auch Lecker.
Zimmer sind auch in Ordnung.

Positiv ist auch das man sich 24 h immer Kostenlos Wasser in der Lobby zum nachfüllen holen kann.

Piccolo appunto sull’isola, non riguardante l’hotel ma generale: prendetevene più cura perchè è un gioiello! Per esempio, è peccato sentire continuamente il rumore dei motori delle barche che vanno e vengono dalla spiaggia più bella, e vedere rifiuti appena si esce dai resort. In ogni caso ci siamo trovati bene e lo consiglieremmo!

Stayed 6 nights and could have stayed for longer! Loved the chilled vibes and the staff, they made us feel very welcome. Great location, quiet but near enough to the walking street where the restaurants and shops are.

Hyggelig lille resort med fantastisk service og venlighed. Beliggenheden kunne ikke være bedre. 5 *
Vi havde booket 2 Garden bungalows og boede i den bagerste ende men ville nok fortrække en deluxe næste gang.
Ikke det store udvalg til morgenmad men der er hvad der skal være og man går ikke sulten derfra. Snorkeludstyr og strandspil kan lånes gratis og kajakker udlejes til 100 THB pr time ( billigt ift de andre steder)

Siamo stati 3 notti, ottima location proprio davanti ad una delle principal spiagge dell’isola. Il bungalow era pulito e ben tenuto, unico difetto il bagno piccolino e senza box doccia separato, che comunque rientra negli standard dell’isola. Abbiamo apprezzato la grande disponibilità e gentilezza delle ragazze addette alla reception e la possibilità di servirsi gratuitamente di acqua, lettini in spiaggia e biciclette per gli spostamenti.

Fantastisk strand og dejligt område

Dejlig beliggenhed og fin “hytte” i første række til en fantastisk strand - Virkelig idyllisk med en kæmpe “hage” - Der er en hel del “Taxi både” som larmer vanvittigt meget… Det er synd, da det ødelægger meget af det, som ellers er fuldstændig fantastisk.

蚊取り線香はあるがマッチ等の点火するものはない。
パドルボート、シュノーケリングマスク、ゴーグル、フィン、無料貸し出し。
朝食はあまり種類はないが、パッタイがとても美味しい。
サンライズビーチが目の前で、シュノーケリングツアーにホテルの前から参加出来、とても便利。

Sehr gemütliches Resort auf einer kleinen Insel. Der Inhaber ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten mit Frühstück gebucht und fanden es komplett ausreichend. Die Spiegeleier odr das Omelett wurde immer frisch zubereitet.
Die Zimmer sind recht klein, aber ausreichend. Leider ist der Kühlschrank auch über den Stromkreis mit dem Schlüssel, also nur bei Anwesenheit, aktiv. Niedlich sind die Hängematten, sicherlich könnten die Liegen auch erneuert werden oder wenigstens die Auflagen, aber das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau. Der feine Sandstrand ist auch super und es gibt Schsttenplätze. Ein kleines Manko sind die unzähligen Longtailboote direkt am Strand, aber überraschenderweise ist es trotzdem völlig ruhig und zum baden und schwimmen super gut. In absoluter Laufweite geht es in "die Innenstadt" mit sehr vielen Restaurants. Ausgrund der Corona-Krise können wir leider nichts zum Resort eigenem Restaurant sagen, da es geschlossen hatte. Aber deshslb war das Resort gefühlt auch unter 50% belegt, was die Entspannung erhöhte und auch kein Gedränge an drn Liegen nach sich zog.

The room was perfect, very clean and tidy. They give you a bag with towels for the beach, free snorkels and bikes available as well. The place is very quiet and peaceful although is close to the walking street. Looking forward to come back.

사장님이 친절하시고 숙소도 좋았습니다. 머무는 동안 내 집같은 안락함을 느꼈습니다. 다만 조식은 매일 같은 메뉴가 다소 부실하게 느껴졌습니다. 조식으로 나쁘지는 않았지만 아쉬움은 있었습니다. 그 외에 너무 훌륭했습니다.

Väldigt trevligt boende i fräscha bungalows och fantastiskt bra läge på Sunrise Beach. Många träd ger möjlighet att välja sol eller skugga. Tyvärr lite för få solsängar. Ingen pool, men det saknade inte vi. Bra frukost med smoothies och möjlighet att beställa äggrätter. Mycket trevlig och hjälpsam värd.

Hinta-laatusuhteeltaan oikein hyvä majoitus. Palvelu ystävällistä, huone siisti ja ilmastoitu. Rantapyyhkeet löytyivät huoneesta. Aamupala sisälsi mm. tuoretta hedelmäsalaattia ja omeletin sai halutessaan tilauksesta. Meidät päästettiin huoneeseen, vaikka olimme muutama tunti ennen check-inin alkamista paikalla. Lähtiessämme saimme hotellin puolesta skootteritaksikyydin Pattaya beachille, josta venekyytimme lähti liikkeelle.

Klimatisierter Bungalow sehr zu empfehlen. Tägliche Reinigung und Kaffee,Tee wird bereit gestellt Trinkwasser kann kostenlos geholt werden. Ebenso ist das Frühstück vielfältig gestaltet in Büffet Form.

Peu mieux faire mais très belle plage

Nous avons passer un séjour agréable grâce à la magnifique plage de l’hôtel
Les point négatifs
- ne réserver pas la chambre avec vu sur la mer ( Odeur de renfermer, 20 aine de moustique que j’ai du tuer qui sorter du placard, mur avec des trous, porte avec des finitions ouverte sur le dessus )
- Les kayak sont payant je pense que pour les personnes residant à l’hôtel cela pourrais être gratuit
- Le petit déjeuner avec un choix très restreint qui pourrais être vachement plus amélioré , compris dans notre formule mais nous y somme aller 1x pendant tout notre séjour )
- aucun système de porte ne pas déranger. Nous avons été déranger mainte et mainte fois par les dames de ménages alors que nous dormions dedans.

Points positifs
- propriétaire qui parle français
- Les tuba mis à dispositions
- Les vélo également ( vu l’état nous n’avons pas osé )
- la situation géographique
- Une des plus belle plage
Ps: il est très difficile d’avoir un bon hôtel même avec un certain budget sur l’île.
