The property was on the edge of the lake, close to the sports lake. Good size and good kitchen facilities.
The property could do with a bit of paint as it looks like water damage around the front door and the French doors. The skirting that was in the kitchen side of the bathroom also had water damage.
Small decking area again could do with a paint or clean green Algee on fencing, front was the same.
Smart TV in room but couldn’t get this feature to work so couldn’t get my sky or Netflix.

“The apartment was small and a bit run down. There was mould in the bathroom and on the patio doors. There was a rat on the patio, which I assume was looking for food. The patio itself was in a very poor state; the decking appears to have been partly eaten by rats. The fridge and cooker were also dirty.”

Arrived to a stone cold hot tub and was told it may not be warm until lunch time the following day. Also, the dog friendly lodge was not do friendly as we could not leave the dog on the decking without being on a lead as there was no fence to prevent them running away.

Stayed in a 2bed pet free apartment. Perfect small holiday accommodation. Small things to consider to make the guest experience better - we would have liked a bottle of anti-bacterial kitchen spray in the kitchen. There was none provided. Also the frying pan in our accommodation needed replacing and there was no flat spatula provided, for when frying eggs for example. These small things would have enhanced our stay.
It was a great place though with beautiful surroundings.

It isn't 5 star luxury. But it's certainly 5 star value.
There aren't any added perks (cooking oil, seasoning, shampoo etc) but the property is spotless and the parking is ample.

Our off-peak visit was spot on for our little family. Spacious clean property, lovely staff and a friendly quiz host in the bar.

This location is amazing for exploring both coastlines. Would recommend to friends - although the lookout bar isn't exactly a substitute for a cute Cornish pub so it wouldn't suit everyone.

Our 3 bedroom barn lodge was clean, warm and cosy throughout. Beds were comfy although a little small (double beds in 2 out of 3 rooms) put in the rooms quite small so would only fit in double beds. Bathrooms were spotless. Sofas were huge and comfy. Had a really enjoyable day and would come back again.

Nice surroundings. Liked the apartment. It was spacious and comfy. Would have been nice to have coffee and tea provided and more than one toilet roll. TV was not working on arrival but it was fixed the next day. No hot water on the last morning of our stay so no shower (we needed to get on the road so didn't want to wait for maintenance to come over and fix it while I was still in our pyjamas!). Breakfast at the onsite restaurant was good but not available on the last day as they don't do breakfasts during the week during quiet periods. Wanted to try the pool but it wasn't available Sunday morning as it was being cleaned and Sunday afternoon it was too busy so gave it a miss.

We stayed in an 8 berth “luxury” barn with a roof terrace hot tub. Huge issues with the electrics as whenever the lights for the roof terrace came on the bedroom electrics continuously tripped. This resulted in maintenance turning off the roof lights meaning it was pitch black and dangerous to use the hot tub. The barn smelt like sewage and damp, there was a significant amount of mould on the bedroom curtains and bathroom tiles. Which resulted in us all getting sore itchy throats, coughs and stuffy noses. These resolved on leaving the propert. Such a shame as this was advertised as a 5* property…it certainly is not. The oven was also tiny and not easy to work and they only gave us one key which was annoying. I will say though that I’ve stayed at this resort before and didn’t have any issues. The reception team were so friendly, kind and lovely so this is not a reflection on them.

The accommodation was beautiful. Unfortunately, sone aspects of the property were danaged, such aa the bath panels, which made it look a tad scruffy. We had an issue with our accommodation, but it was handled very well. We were quickly moved to a different lodge and had a free upgrade, which was highly appreciated. The main resturant was ok, friendly staff, but very limited on healthy food options. The pool looked a little dated and not very appealing.

A great place to stay. Very relaxing and peaceful with a small lake. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. We stayed in one with a hot tub which was great. In the daylight it feels like it will be overlooked but when it is dark it felt quite private as other places near us didn’t have hot tubs so people weren’t outside. Close to Padstow and the A30, so easy to get to lots of places. We will definitely return

On arriving they are so dog friendly, everyone who saw Bruno was giving loves. It was such a warm welcoming!
Driving down to the lodges was a bit unscenic. There was a lot of building works going on but as soon as you hit the lodges the view changes and it’s gorgeous again.

The lodge is beautiful. There is a few bits that need a bit of attention such as some of the wallpaper in the living room had tiny bits missing, the shower looked a bit outdated at the bottom and there was a couple of chips in the floor. The sofa sets outside were a bit mouldy but I think this could be resolved of a wash and perhaps providing guests with covers to put over during the rain?

The cleanliness of the place though was unmatched. Everything was pristine and the cleaners are constantly about all day.

The sofa was incredibly comfortable and the beds. The bath was fantastic and the facilities in general were lovely. Had a great stay!

Lovely stay at Retallack with our young son and dog. Lodge was well equipped and had modern furnishings, though was beginning to look a little worn in places e.g. Some stains on carpets and sofa etc and a few marks on walls - just a little bit of a refresh and repair required. Only other bit of feedback would be it would be great to have an area to let dogs off lead / have a nice walk around site. Overall however, brilliant accommodation and we had a great stay. Would recommend.

We loved the stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. The lodge was lovely and clean. Only issue is we didn’t have a tumble drier and weather was awful so had to put heating on to dry washing which then made us to hot.
Would definitely recommend this lovely place and stay here again.

Great Stay & Location!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Retallack Resort, the location is great with all the towns and beaches being a short drive away. The accommodation; 2 bedroom Barn was excellent a home from home, modern, clean and very spacious! Our 2 teenagers had plenty of space and our room with ensuite felt very spacious.

We used the swimming pool, gym and tennis courts which were looking a little tired and could do with up-grading but this didnt overly bother us still did the job and a bonus to have on-site.

The bar/restaraunt was great for coffees and drinks - we ate one evening in the restaraunt basic food for the price so decided not to use again - we didnt try breakfast.

The reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient - checking in was quick and very welcoming a good first impression.

A great stay - will stay again!!

Pleasantly surprised as this was a new place for us. The places we usually stay are stunning but due to the wet weather we wanted to opt for somewhere with things the kids could do. The accommodation was fab, very clean and modern. It could have done with a few more kitchen utensils such as a chopping board. My only grumble was the pool is a bit grim, the sides were very dirty and the baby pool was yellow. The sauna was out of action and somebody smashed the steam room door which put the pool out of action due to glass in the water (this couldn’t be helped but still a disappointment) most of the water activities required children to be 8yrs old which ours aren’t so that left us a bit stuck. Most of the evening activities stopped on 31st August so again there wasn’t much for the kids. These weren’t disasters as they aren’t things we would normally have on our holiday but still it would have been nice if there were activities for the kids.

The Lodge was very clean and very well appointed and the park well laid out and quiet. The staff although friendly were not well informed and frequently we fell foul of poor information about facility opening times and the reception didn't seem to know what was going on. This should be easy to sort and would have made a huge difference to us as we missed restaurant closing times and even didn't participate in an event because we were told a cafe was closed that was open. Easy stuff to sort and nearly soured an excellent experience.

We stayed in a ground floor lakeside apartment for a week in early June. The apartment itself was clean and had everything you needed from plates and cutlery to microwave and washer dryer. The weather was wet and cold when we were there so had to use the heating which worked well and their was plenty of hot water.
The unit itself looked tired in places, vinyl plank flooring in kitchen looked like it had suffered water damage at some point, paint peeling on reveals around rear patio door and the shower tray leaked continuously which in turn was damaging the door frame and architrave. Woodwork on deck definitely needs attention, slippery when wet and looking worn. That said , the unit was very comfortable and so quiet at night. We loved feeding the ducks in the morning as they swam right up to balcony. If you rent a top floor apartment on the lake the balconies are small and set back from the waters edge.
We didn't eat here so unable to comment on food but we did use the gym which was small but functional.
The site itself is fairly remote which adds to the peace and tranquility, staff are very polite and helpful and there is a well stocked shop on site which isn't overpriced.
Overall, i would recommend Retallack its still good value for money despite the negatives.

Very good overall - would go back and stay again. I would say that the black 4 berth barns get very hot in the summer with no fans provided it can get very warm from 10-6pm. It would have been nice to have more amenities such as toilet rolls as we only had two provided for our Monday - Friday trip. Other than that it was very modern, double parking, felt safe and secure. We didn’t use any of the gym / pool facilities but will do next time we attend and our little man is a bit older (2 months old).

Overall a great stay. The reason for the average score to service was due to 2 of our 4 booked swim sessions being cancelled at the last minute during our stay.

We stayed in a barn that was fantastic, I couldn’t fault it. However the gym was very poor, so small you couldn’t fit more that 2/3 people in. The sauna was broken so we couldn’t use it for our stay. The pool is tired and in need of an update.

Having said all of that I would return just for barn which had a hot tub and the location. However if they update the gym and pool facilities it would be a full 5 stars!

It was okay, the lodge was warm throughout and it was nice to have a completely separate dwelling from others. The swimming facilities are good. Unfortunately there were a couple of things we had issues with, the cleanliness throughout the lodge was not up to standard; bathroom fixtures were faulty and moving; the lighting in the kitchen/lounge was terrible when it was dark outside, to the point that you couldn't really see what you were doing in the kitchen. A big disappointment was when we decided to go to the onsite restaurant "The Lookout Bar and Eatery" or Catch22; we didn't expect to be impressed and unfortunately it was worse that we could have expected, I ordered our food at 19:10 and we didn't receive our food until 19:50, they were not busy at all, it was only fish and chips they were cold and didn't taste good at all. It isn't unreasonable to expect better service than this at the price they are charging, I didn't complain at the time as our toddler was desperate to eat and it was better than nothing... I wouldn't stay there again.

The accomodation was amazing and the private hot tub the best I have been in. Make sure you take EVERYTHING with you if you plan to cook as absolutely nothing there atall, not even salt and pepper.
Very disappointed in the fact the Sauna was not working nd we had not benn informed off this and then when we arrived they closed the gym (one of the reasons I booked this place) to paint it....surely this could haave been done earlier in the year before the park got busy? Several people were there early to use it and no ;luck!!! We left early due to these matters. Also the steam room is in with the pool so you have to book to go in. Not great !!!!

Fantastic 3 night stay in a 2 bedroom barn as the style of accommodation is called. Exceeded our expectations as it was modern and spotless. It was fitted out like a show home. Nice swimming pool at Retallack although changing rooms could do with a refurbishment. Used the flowrider which is excellent fun. Had a decent meal in the restaurant one night. Would recommend the resort highly and will definitely go back again.

Another good stay at Retallack Resort again in a lakeside apartment. Overall happy with the accommodation except for problems with the provided internet. In our apartment this did not work for the entire time we stayed. We did manage to log in via the TV on one evening but then this failed and wouldn’t start again ! Now this might be classed as a nice to have but if a connection is required it’s a real pain and if children were in the accommodation it could be quite stressful……site maintenance and management were of little help and reception could only pass on concerns……so not totally satisfied. Due to location phone signal is poor but that’s not the sites fault …..that’s Cornwall !

Lodge was fantastic, very clean. Hot tub was perfect and was used every day,we will be back.

The accommodation was great - modern and clean. Hot tub excellent. Good base for exploring Cornwall.
Pool closed early (5pm) which was a shame for us as an evening swim would have been nice.

All the staff were so helpful and friendly, and the accommodation was Amazing, perfect for our girls get together, especially with the 3 bathrooms lol. We all Loved it so much we booked to come back same time next year.

Loved the place and property, the freezer door handle was broken, fridge door shelf missing, couldn't get dishwasher to work no booklet that be longs to it, but overall the place and food and staff was fantastic.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom barn and it was lovely. Very clean and fairly well equipped kitchen wise. The furniture and beds were comfortable, although we could have done with another couch really. What was there was ok for 2 but we would have struggled with 4.
The properties are quite overlooked, so you do have to keep blinds and curtains shut in bedrooms. Some of the bigger properties (not on the meadow or hillside) are not overlooked so could be worth going for those instead.
The resort is quite near to padstow, but other than the restaurant (which we didn’t use), shop and spa/pool facilities there isn’t anything else around.
All in all it was fantastic value for money and we will definitely be returning.
