It’s more like a motel than a hotel, I asked for a different room due to smoke smell and the fact that it was old and run down. They changed it to the exact same look and smell but worse. The mirror had black stains all on it. The shower was scary. No washcloths in either rooms never brought extra towels. The wifi didn’t work. No coffee or anything just a fridge with frozen ice cream for sale

The only thing that we liked in this hotel was the outdoor pool and the main attraction was a ton of iguanas that were crawling all around the pool.
The property seemed quite outdated and there was no warm blankets but just very thin throw blankets.
This hotel did not have any onsite restaurants or breakfast so we had to go to a nearby Hilton hotel for food.
The beach was nice just to sit next to but it’s not really for swimming.

This hotel is 1star dressed up as 4. The hotel needs a major make over. The rooms had a very strong mildewy smell. Everything in the room was dated and very uncomfortable. The windows were filthy. Cleaning staff was a joke. We had to ask for towels and toilet paper almost daily at the front desk. Staff at the front desk were ok. They cleaned the room one day in a seven day stay. Elevator had issues, there were power issues, TV remotes were horrible and I can just go on and on. The pool area and the surrounding resort however was nice.The restaurant’s by the Golf course and casino were also very good.

During my stay, I encountered an issue that was not disclosed at the time of booking. Upon arrival, I was informed that I could not use the hotel facilities before check-in, which I understood. However, after check-out, I was told that I would need to pay an additional fee to continue using the facilities.
This policy was not mentioned anywhere on Expedia at the time of booking, nor was it stated on the hotel’s official website. I spoke directly with hotel staff, and they confirmed that this is a “new policy,” yet it has not been properly disclosed to guests.
I believe this lack of transparency is misleading and unacceptable, as it directly impacted my experience and resulted in unexpected charges, if I knew this I wouldn't made the reservation.
I kindly request that this matter be investigated and that appropriate action be taken. We left the hotel before the check out time. (When I made the reservation they were putting a nice stay package, and when I added up the extra fees they were charging, there was the difference) It ruined our weekend.

Outdoor pool is amazing with the beach right next to it. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again in the near future only because of the scenery and the amazing balcony view of the ocean. The only hiccup is the rooms do not appear modern nor as clean especially when you first arrive there. I did see a rip in the curtains, and the smell of mold. House cleaning wasn’t up to part as well and there was no plates, cups, or spoons for us to eat or use the microwave . The staff is friendly though.

It’s an amazing hotel, clean, very pretty, connected next to Embassy suite. The pool area is shared with them so it’s great! You can pay to use the embassy breakfast that’s $22 plus tax per person but it’s has a good variety of food option. I am originally from PR and this is a great hotel to stay at.

The landscaping was beautiful. The pool area and the beach area was so nice and relaxing. However , the hotel itself could use some updating . Carpet in the rooms was badly stain. Couldn’t walk bare footed if you wanted . It was the same on the hallways. Bed skirts was torn and or ripped and need replacing. The furniture was chipping and just badly stained. It’s definitely time for a remodel. When I pay for a hotel I want to be able to relax not be on edge and scared to sit down in my room. I was going to cancel and pay for a whole separate hotel but I sucked it up and dealt with it and was uncomfortable the entire time

I really enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. Only went in the evening and was not crowded. Beach access was nice but the beach area was not cleaned. Previous places I have stayed cleaned the beach.
The room was huge, had washer dryer which was helpful, kitchen table was nice to have. But over felt dirty the couch looked gross.
The girl who checked us in was super nice and helpful. The second girl I worked with about the parking voucher not working had a bit of an attitude.

Stayed for 6 days rooms cleaned every other day had to keep begging for towels asked housekeeping and front desk eventually went to the store and bought detergent to wash my dirty towels I used for the past 3 days housekeeping came in the room not to clean but to take my clean towels I hide intentionally under my clothes and underwear put it on the dining room table like they brought it up they went through my stuff when I was out, other wise everything else was ok probably stay somewhere else next time.

My experience at Aquarius Vacation Club at Dorado del Mar was unacceptable from start to finish. When I arrived to check into my room, I found the door cracked open. I immediately went downstairs to notify the front desk because I was genuinely afraid to walk in. They sent a security guard to “check” the room and then told me it was fine to enter, but that was only the beginning of the problems.

Once inside, it was obvious the room was extremely old and poorly maintained. The bathroom had an old, dingy shower curtain, the tub was wet, and there were no basic toiletries—no soap, no shampoo, nothing. On top of that, there was no hot water. The floor was covered with random pieces of carpet, and it was filthy—dust, paper scraps, and debris everywhere, as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. The chairs were stained, and the wooden furniture was chipped and worn down.

To make matters worse, when Expedia tried to contact the hotel to help me get a refund, the staff refused to answer the phone. I had to physically go downstairs and stand there until they finally picked up the call. Even after all of this, I still have not received a refund.

For a hotel that markets itself as a vacation club, this was incredibly disappointing. The lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and unprofessional customer service made this stay far below acceptable standards. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Positives: nice pool area, wasn’t overcrowded and kept very clean. Easy beach access. Rooms are average-clean and included a fridge, microwave and sink area. Beds were comfortable and AC worked great.

Negatives: staff are not welcoming and there is absolutely no communication at check-in regarding amenities, etc. Had no idea where to get beach towels, location and hours of operation for anything on the property (casino, bowling alley, go cart track, restaurants) were never mentioned. Had to ask multiple staff in both the Aquarius and Embassy where we could eat, and was sent to multiple different locations to find all of the restaurants closed. Spoke to other people staying there who also had children with them and they said they had to walk 20 mins to Burger King to eat dinner. Apparently the restaurants are not open Mon-Wed. We ended up taking an Uber to “downtown” Dorado and ate at Katrina, which had great empanadas.

Overall it was a decent hotel for the price and we didn’t spend much time in our room. If you are looking for an average hotel to get away for some pool and beach time for a discount this hotel will do.

During our stay at Aquarius Vacation Club in Dorado, we found several policies and timing limitations that significantly affected our overall experience.
Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and upon arrival, guests are required to sign agreements that include a $25 fee for unreturned pool towels and up to a $150 charge related to balcony door usage due to condensation concerns. While we understand the intent behind these policies, the way they are presented feels restrictive rather than welcoming.
Additionally, the pool bar and restaurant operate only from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Given the late check-in time, by the time we accessed our room, stored our luggage, and changed, we had very limited time—approximately 30 minutes—to enjoy these amenities on our first day.
We also inquired about using the pool after check-out to make up for the limited access on arrival day. Unfortunately, we were informed that this is not allowed unless an additional day pass is purchased.
As a result, what is marketed as a “two days, one night” stay feels more like a half-day experience with an overnight stay, primarily serving as a place to sleep rather than a full resort experience.

We just left and loved everything about our stay, we had a full apartment setup which allowed us to feel right at home from the beachside resort. Our only complaint comes from the lack of a stable WiFi signal, we struggled to backup our videos and pictures. We brought this to the attention of staff and they attempted to fix this twice but no luck. Overall everything was great and we will return!

Most of the front desk staff were not welcoming.
The room had a leaky faucet that dripped making a loud noise that kept us up at night, phone did not work, one side of the room didn’t have power and the toilet had little to no pressure. We were never offered another room when we presented these issues to the front desk. The blankets were paper thin and whenever we requested an additional one they took it back when housekeeping. The pool and beach area was decent, but you had to pick up and drop off your beach towels at the front main desk. To access the beach, a key card was needed to access it but it was super inconvenient because you needed the key card to exit it. How can you swim with a key card. It felt like entrapment.

Upon arrival after 4 pm to this hotel we waited over an hour to be placed in a room . The room we received was outdated and dilapidated. After noticing other rooms were more updated which is what showed when I booked and paid the additional money for I went back to the front desk to complain and I was moved to an updated room for a fee. After asking why they are putting guest in rooms that are renovated Asiel informed me because no one usually complains. And since I booked through a third party that is another reason why I didn’t see the deluxe option room .She gave me an email address to send to explain to the manager my concerns which I did but never heard back. I will never stay at this hotel again!

The hallway on the first floor has open ceilings with exposed black mold and you can immediately smell it. As soon as you exit the elevator on upper floors you can smell the mold infestation. We left immediately and did not choose to stay in these conditions. The hotel is in desperate need of repairs and updates. It could be a nice place but has not been maintained. I would sleep outside under a tree before I would spend any time in this hotel. We probably won’t be refunded. They have not refunded me for my stay even though we did not stay here.

This is describes as a resort.. it is not. They share a pool area with the embassy suites next door. Everything here was a hassle.. from trying to reach the front desk, to parking, even down to getting towels. Nothing here is relaxing. The overall vibe is low-end, out dated, and loud. Not one thing here could be describes and nice, relaxing, or luxurious. We booked for 4 nights and left after 2. I didn't care about the money lost. It was worth it to leave and head east to the much nicer Hyatt Regency. Would not recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at the Aquarius Hotel & Resort in Dorado and, unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations.

Upon arrival, we noticed a significant security concern in our room—there was no deadbolt separating our room from the adjacent one. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, it initially did not seem to be taken seriously. Although the issue was eventually addressed, the process lacked urgency and clear communication. At one point, we were informed that maintenance had already visited our room, which was not accurate. This created confusion and did not inspire confidence in how concerns were being handled. Additionally, there was no follow-up from a manager regarding the situation, which would have been appreciated given the nature of the issue.

In terms of amenities, the property itself is quite limited. While there is a pool and access to a small beach, there are minimal on-site offerings. Guests are often directed to nearby properties for additional amenities, which can be inconvenient if you’re expecting a more comprehensive resort experience.

Overall, while the location has potential, improvements in guest communication, accountability, and on-site amenities would greatly enhance the experience.

Hotel staff super friendly but frustrated with everyone complaining about the same situation. If I come back is because of the staff . Did not love this experience. The hotel room smelled moldy and was not able to get another room. Carpet felt humid and was dirty. Only received 2 towels for the 3 of us and even after requesting another one several times never received it. The dirty ones were taken but not replaced. The poolside is very nice but definitely not worth staying so far from San Juan. Will not be returning to this place. LOVED the island though..
