Good hotel would benefit from minor improvements.

An excellent hotel, but could do with minor improvements.
Serving meals in the evening would make it 5star.
Breakfast is very good and service is first rate.
Room 12 is a good room, but the en-suite needs improvement. The washbasin is really tiny for the size of the bathroom, and there is very little shelf space. The supply of toiletries was limited and not of the quality that you would expect for the price of the room. The coffee machine seems to have been little used, and having used it, it’s because the taste of the café au lait capsules is poor.
We didn’t use the pool but it is a bonus provision.

Excellent and comfy....nice location. Poor phone signal if on the 02 network. Internet was great in public areas but poor in the room.

Great comfy beds, and an excellent powerful shower. Great space and lovely cushions.

Staff were helpful when engaged.

Great o cation short walk to the beach and close to the twin of Newquay for shopping.

Excellent balcony views, very comfy

Stayed in the hotel itself. In the bigger King suite. Very comfortable bed, great view, breakfast was tasty, spotlessly clean.
Could do with improvement but didn’t take away from our stay: floorboards from above creaked a bit (to be expected in a Manor House), no evening meals in restaurant. Would definitely stay again.

Check in was really efficient, lady was do friendly. Hotel is imacculate , not a sign of ANY dust or cobwebs. Right on the beach, i stay at many hotels and this is one of the best, especially for rhe cost.

Hotel has a great setting for access to local beaches and the more extensive coastal path. Outside lawn area has some nice views over Porth Beach. Small swimming pool also looked great and will try that next visit

I stayed for 3 nights in a small single room with a comfortable bed, but thin pillows, desk & chair, 32\" TV on wall, but no a/c and in-room no safe. Good shower, but it is mounted too low on the wall if you're taller than 5'6\". The free WiFi performed well. Poor cleaning - I found long hairs in the bathroom, and stepped on another person's toenail on the floor by the bed. The continental breakfast has a very limited selection (cereal, yogurt, bread/toast, marmalade/jam, pastries, only orange juice, tea & coffee) - the hot breakfast was very good, but costs extra if it isn't included in your room rate. This hotel's biggest asset is the polite, friendly and helpful staff. Note that the hotel has no lift, and there is no signal on the O2 network here. It is in a quiet location about 20 minutes walk to Newquay town centre.

The location was the best part of our stay. The room was very spacious and we didn’t feel cramped at all. The shower/tub combo with a shower head was a bit odd in that it had a half enclosure of glass that did NOT keep the floors from getting wet every time we used it. Would most likely return but might look at the apartments/villas instead

A Bad Nights Sleep

Overall the trip was fine, but it was let down by a noisy fan running untill well past midnight on both nights of our stay. We mentioned it to reception after our fisrt night and were informed we were in one of the rooms that suffered from this, but they'd try to ensure it was switched off the next night, but it wasn't. This kept us awake and the Hotel has no night staff on duty to get things like this fixed.

Staff were excellent, and the hotel is very nice. No issues with parking. Restaurant was very nice, with excellent view. The room was a little small (single room), and got a bit of noise from the kitchen downstairs. About a 10 minute walk to any shops, but also only a 5 minute drive to the main centre of Newquay, so not so bad. Near a main route out of town if you want to visit the area, and hotel is still on a quiet road, which is a good combination.

The hotel was pretty. The location was terrible for out of country visitors without a car. Newquay was a 2 mile walk and impossible in inclement weather. There was nothing to eat at the hotel between breakfast and dinner. The photos on the internet are old. Lots of construction going on. The “sea view” refers to a tiny strip of ocean about 3 miles away.
The manager didn’t acknowledge us after the first day when we asked to leave and get a refund. The food was mediocre.

Don’t forget your ear plugs.

I stayed in room 11. The guest in the room above may as well have stayed in the same room as me as the ceiling/floors has no noise insulation at all. The ceiling lights even bounced as the person above walked around their room whilst the floorboards squeaked away. The person above was on the phone until late and kept me awake as a result. The water pipes of adjoining rooms are also very loud. I’d expect better for the price.

Stayed in room 11 (sea-view) on a business trip for a few days. Hotel was great, had a lovely sea-view room which was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back. The only thing it lacked for me would have been a desk but given the hotel's main customer is probably a holiday maker then demands for desks may not be high.
