The owner was incredibly generous and hospitable. He gave us a mini orientation of Sokcho when we arrived and keys places of interest. Even printed out recommended restaurants based on your dietary requirements.

The location was perfect. In a quiet area that was easy accessible via bus and in between the greater Sokcho town and the Seoraksan Park. It was very serene and the mountains in the backdrop felt magical.

The accomodation was everything you would need. It was clean, well stocked and warm in the cold weather. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

The accomodation also had a communal area with tea, coffee, board games, dvds and even badminton. Felt very homely.

Ideal location: best of both worlds.

Great helpful host. Super location between Sokcho and the stunning national park nearby. Easy access to both via nearby bus line, with buses running every 20 minutes. Or via taxi, which is a short ride into town. They have ample free parking on site too. Enjoyed our stay just in the edge of the city, as gave a peaceful and romantic atmosphere to our wonderful trip. Good value for price, we could have afforded a more expensive option but actually preferred to stay somewhere were we could get to know the owner and was more unique than a standard cookie-cutter large hotel.

This was a nice discovery. Located between Sokcho and Seorak National Park, in a quiet community. Our host greeted us and showed us to our room. Very spacious, with all necessary amenities. He also explained what was around and how to get there. We truly enjoyed staying there, and our host's attentions were beyond any given expectations.

Great pension near Sokcho. Thry served a nice breakfast every morning that you could eat out on the porch with a view of the mountains. The owner was very friemdly and helpful and gave some.good recolmendations. A short ealk to the bus that can take you in to the park and in to town. We would definitely stay here again for future visits!

My favorite place that I’ve stayed at in my South Korea trip! The owner was super sweet and gave me a map and went through all the things to do when I arrived. The room was very clean and well kept. There was easy access to Seoraksan National Park via bus (they accept T Money card).

I took a taxi from Sokcho Bus Termminal and it was only about 7000 won. The owner called a taxi for my return trip (which was about 5000 won).

Loved it so much, hope to be back again!

Quirky and cute decor gave this a fun feeling. The bus to Seoraksan was convenient. (I never found a time schedule but there was never a long wait.)The room was super clean, the host was very kind and had very helpful tips and a map to make my outings easy. I was also travelling solo and he had recommendations for nearby restaurant options appropriate for a single diner. The jacuzzi tub was awesome after a strenuous day hiking. Highly recommend!

The proprietor was terrific. Helpful and spoke great English. Always a smile on his face! We felt so welcome. Casa Seorak is small family run inn with excellent freshly ground coffee and a breakfast prepared to order. We had not just a room but a lovely apartment. Our suggestion for the bathroom is to install a grab rail near the shower, which was in a jacuzzi hot tub and a grab rail would have made getting in and out easier/safer for us! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!! Mountains and beaches nearby and the grilled fish in the local restaurants is excellent.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming. He brought delicious breakfast to our room every morning for my family. The room was well decorated and very homey with a beautiful jacuzzi that lit up colorful lights when filled with water. And the price for the room was a great deal. There was also free coffee, tea, and a good selection of DVDs in the lobby that we could bring to our room & watch. Incredible experience! I will definitely be staying there again in the future.

Absolutely fantastic stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again if we make it back to the area. The house was well stocked with everything you’d need for your stay- soaps, fully stocked kitchen, even house slippers. The hosts were so friendly and personable; they provided a helpful guide with places to eat and thing to see. Our room was clean, and very comfortable. Casa Seorak was an excellent stop on our tours through Gangwon-do’s east coast. Juha met us at the front steps and went over points of interest, hikes at Seoraksan with their respected times, and a couple of restaurants in the area he recommended (we tried three of the four recommendations—all good!). We booked the deluxe room since we had a toddler with us and needed a little extra space, which also came with a jacuzzi style tub and mini kitchen. The room was very spacious and clean. I would highly recommend if you’re planning on coming to this region!

The property is located in a convenient location easily accessible to mt. Seorak and within 15 minute drive to the beach. Owner of the property was very welcoming and made sure the customers are comfortable.
Bathroom was equipped with jacuzzi with body wash, body sponge, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner provided.
There were movie dvd’s available and complementary coffee and tea.
American breakfast delivered to the room was a huge plus in addition to all the other great services.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. I would recommend it to absolutely everyone. I spent my birthday and honeymoon here and I was the happiest person. Our host is generous and kind and speaks excellent English. The pups are so cute!! The room was comfortable and the location was absolutely excellent to get to Seoraksan and Sokcho. I wish I stayed here a week to make use of the BBQ and the gorgeous outdoor spaces.

The host, Mr Hwang si wonderful. He came to pick us at the bus station and drove us back. On our arrive, he gave us plenty of information and recommendations to make our staying very pleasant. It’s a B&B and you have your breakfast in your room, a very good one .It’s between the Parc and the town and just next to the bus station so very practical. I strongly recommend Casa Seorak .

The owner - Mr Juha Hwang & family were very nice and helpful. They provided us not only round trip transfers but also gave us a lot of travel tips and advisories which were very useful. The most impressive was the breakfast which Mr Juha prepared on his own and delivered to our room daily. You could see that they were thoughtfully prepared. The hotel is a homely and comfortable establishment. I also appreciate the room which was very well designed!

The location is also perfect. It’s in between of Sokcho and Soraksan. The bus stop is also not far from the hotel. It took about 15-20 minutes to reach Sokcho or Soraksan by bus.

Surely, I will recommend my friends to stay in this hotel if they want to go for hiking in Soraksan!

Prior to our bus arrival, Mr. Hwang would pickup phone right away. He picked us up at the bus terminal within 10-15 minutes. He settled us in quickly. Gave us map, direction to Seoraksan National Park, places to go and eat. He's very knowlege, friendly, patient and helpful.
The house is in a rural area, and we got to walk around its sourending with many persimmon trees, cabages the next morning. It's quite unique. Breakfast was delicious and coffee was exceptional. We decided to tour the city and the beach before heading back to Seoul by bus. Mr. Hwang offered to drop off our suitcase to the bus terminal. We just needed to call him after sightseeing. It started to rain hard. Mr. Hwang ended up picking us up also.
We loved this place and wished we'd stayed longer.

All around fantastic lodging option in Sokcho

The owner, Juha, communicated with me via e-mail several times prior to our check in date to answer my questions and provide instructions for arrival. He was able to pick us up from the Express Bus Terminal and drive us to Casa Seorak. He was an excellent host and really went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and at home. He also provided a map of Sokcho and gave recommendations on nearby bus routes, restaurants, and activities.

The room itself was clean, spacious, and had a nice B&B feel to it. Juha was kind enough to assist us with purchasing our return bus tickets back to Seoul, since the employees at the terminal did not speak much English.

I would definitely recommend Casa Seorak, particularly if your Korean is limited and you are looking for a helpful person to help guide you during your stay.

The owner-couple is very nice. The room is small - not the same room they'd showed on the site - much smaller. Everything in the room is small and cute, feel like a doll house. Breakfast is late (8am) but is served in the room. The owner puts their heart in making breakfast as it's beautiful decorated!!! Healthy and delicious.

This was an amazing B&B type hotel. Beautiful location and views in Soraksan area. The rooms were very unique and stylish and the amenities like bedding, bathroom were like a 5 star hotel. One of the most comfortable beds we stayed at in Korea. The morning breakfast was included in the price and was delicious and delivered to our room. Only regret is we couldn't stay longer! Highly recommend!

The owner is very kind and helpful. He gives very good recommendations on restaurants. he directed us to one restaurant that sells red crabs that was in season. the meat is very sweet and the roe is like hairy crabs. The meal cost us 80000 won for two crabs. but because it was recommended by the pensioner owner he gave us two crabs for free.
The room 204 also enables us to see the sunrise and it is a convenient place for us to do hiking at Seoraksan. The autumn foliage was stunning. There is also a jacuzzi in the room

Love the feel of this B&B! Nice touches here and there throughout the place and making it rustic and fun. The room I booked was the most basic for 4 people, hence space was a little tight for us. I would definitely get a bigger room with the spa next time! Basic amenities such as shampoo and body wash provided. Stayed here with my family and some friends for a couple of nights. The hotel is located in a quiet and secluded spot mid way between city and the mountains. It is serviced by bus every 10 to 15mins from main road. The owner manager is exceptionally nice and took time to make sure we knew the places to visit and eat and explain the amenities of the hotel. The manager picked up and dropped us off to express bus terminal. Breakfast was delivered to the room. A very enjoyable stay and well recommended.

A beautiful B&B close to town and nature

Our family of 5 stayed 2 nights and were absolutely delighted! First of all our host Mr Yuha was wonderful. He picked us up at the express bus terminal when we arrived from Seoul, and dropped us off for the return journey. He speaks good English, and recommended great restaurants and attractions nearby. With a smile he brought breakfast to our door each morning, and he cheerfully acceded to our kids' special request for extra pillows. The kids especially loved their attic bedroom, and the 4 friendly dogs on the property. It's a pleasant 10 minute walk past farms to the bus stop for a 15 minute bus ride to Seoraksan National Park, and a 5 to 10 minute taxi ride (costing under USD 5) to various Sokcho attractions such as the harborside fish market with great sashimi and tempura stalls, hotsprings, and strawberry farm. We wished we had booked a longer stay!

Wonderful Dream House in Sokcho

It's a wonderful experiences to stay in Casa Seorak B&B for two nights. The room was well decorated and romantic. The well presented, room-in breakfast was impressed and delicious! The host of B&B, Juha was very nice and helpful. He could speak fluent English and gave us clear information to explore Sokcho. He also provided pick-up services for the guests to and from the bus terminal when you arrive and leave. This is easily the best place I've stayed in in South Korea. Located about 10 minutes drive from Sokchu city center and 5 minutes from Seoraksan national park, Casa Seorak is close enough to everything but tugged away enough for tranquility. Juha, the owner, runs the place with close attention to details. Rooms were clean, cosy and well-equipped. They were also very homey. Juha picked us up from the station, and gave us useful tips to enjoy our 2-days-stay in the area. I would certainly go back if I were in the area again. Definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Sokchu!

Hi Mr Hwang,

I’ve been meaning to write a testimonial ever since we got back from our 16 days South Korea trip 2 weeks ago. But since We have been gone from work for a long time, It’s been really hectic.

Anyway, first of all. I can honestly say without bias that Casa Seorak was the best place we stayed at in South Korea. Mr. Hwang was a fantastic host. Everything was perfect, from the time he picked us up in the bus station (helping us buy bread at Paris Baguette) to the time he dropped us of (very early morning at 6AM). I really felt genuine kindness and hospitality. His Sokcho tips was spot on. The breakfast was really yummy and the coffee was wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable, my kids really loved the attic treating it as their own personal play place. The Whirlpool Spa tub was just perfect after a tiring day at Seoraksan. I really have nothing but good things to say about Casa Seorak. Thank you for making our short 3 nights stay in Sokcho an unforgettable one.

Lastly, My Wife and I would like to express our deepest gratitude for helping us get her phone back. I really appreciate the great lengths you went through to get our phone back to us.(Having to go back to Waterpia to get our phone and driving to Sokcho city bus terminal and even paying the bus driver out of your own pocket to bring it to Seoul).Million Thanks Mr Hwang, We really won’t forget your kindness and generosity.

It is spacious, clean and tidy. It contains a whirlpool in the room, which is good for relaxation. Breakfast is OK and served to the room.
But:Breakfast cannot be offered before 08:00 and you need to clean the tableware after breakfast. There is no wardrobe or even a hook for hanging clothes, which is very inconvenience especially during raining days. Although the room is very spacious, the whirlpool is separated with the bathroom by the living room. In fact, the whirlpool room is so spacious to include a bathroom. The owner is kind but he is very busy. You should spare more time upon checkout if you want him to drive you to the bus station.

We stayed here 2-4 Sept 2015 and had a great time. The host, Jehu, went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly with our transport, planning and stay at Casa Seorak. He was also very willing to make arrangements for someone in our group with special dietary requirements. This place is an excellent base if you're hiking in Seoraksan National Park as the bus stops on the main road 5 mins walk away. It's also a short bus or taxi ride from Sokcho, and although the taxi drivers were often unsure of where it was, a quick call to Jehu had it sorted. Highly recommended.

A peaceful, very clean and quiet pension. Relaxing balcony with distant views of the local mountains.
The owner was very helpful and served an excellent and delicious breakfast to each room.
There is also a good restaurant nearby in walking distance.
And it was easy to go Seorak mountain from this location as well. Truly enjoyed our stay here.

Très bonne chambre d'hôte, au calme : chambre immense et bien équipée, gérantsd'une très grande gentillesse.
En revanche, sans voiture, ça peut être compliqué car l'endroit est situé loin de la ville et le système de bus est mystérieux. Il y a cependant la plage, quelques supérettes et restaurants à 15/20 minutes.

딸아이와 갑작스러운 속초여행이었는데… 편안하고 안락한 숙소에서 잘 쉴 수 있어서 참 좋았어요. 설악산, 대포항에서 아주 가깝고 아침에 해가 뜨는 뷰가 너무 좋았습니다. 힘조절이 잘 안되었는지.. 비치된 맥주 오프너를 제가 부숴뜨렸는데… ㅠㅠ 엄청 친절하게 괜찮다고 해주셨어요.^^ 그리고 엄청 깨끗합니다.

엇그제 다녀온 솔직한 후기~

블로그나 호텔스닷컴의 긍정적인 많은 후기를 보고 예약을했습니다. 아이와 함께하는 여행이어서 나름 고민이 많았지요.다른분들의 후기처럼 세월의 흔적은 느껴지지만 주민분께서 너무 잘 관리하고 계시다는 느낌이들어 좋았습니다.보통 숙박시설의 경우, 특급호텔을가도 서랍속이나 천정또는 구석진곳에 한두군데 먼지가 보이기 마련인데 너무 청결하게 관리를 잘 하셔서 그런부분이 전혀 없더라구요. 천정조차 먼지나 거미줄하나없어서 좋았습니다.

다만 집에서와는 달리 침대가 타이트한 2인용이라 아이가떨어질까봐 조금 걱정스러웠는데,주인분께서 두꺼운
요를 주셔서 바닥에 재워서 이 역시도 괜찮았습니다.

정성스럽게 조식으로 제공해주시는 토스트와 과일 그리고 샐러드는 조식으로 괜찮았습니다.덕분에 아침을 든든하게 먹으니 외식을 적게하게 되더라구요.
양이 많으신분은 조금 부족하다는 리뷰가있는데, 저희는 아이때문에 팩우유와 스프,과일을 가져가서 함께 먹어서 부족한지 전혀 느낌이 없더라구요.

다만 수압이 낮은지 물이 시원하게 나오지않아서 조금 답답답했는데 쓰다보니 샤워하는데 거슬릴정도는 아닙니다.집에서 시원하게 쓰던 버릇이 있어서 처음엔 어쩌지했는데 익숙해지더라구요.

또하나, 월풀에 더운 물의온도 설정이 낮게되어있어요.
저희의 경우 아이와 함께해서 적당했지만, 아이가 나가고 나가고 물온도를 올려보려고 했는데 쉽게 따끈해지지는 않더라구요. 뜨끈하게 몸을 풀고싶으신 분 이시라면 처음부터 더운 물만 받으시면 될거같아요.

위치는 설악산,대포항,함스베이커리,실로암막국수,이마트등 관광지로 많이 알려진곳과 가까운편이라 좋습니다.
코로나라 바베큐시설을 이용할수 없어서 저희는 작은불을 피워 베란다에서 숯불구이를 해먹었는데, 지금도 그 맛을 잊을수가 없네요~

단풍 절정시기에 한번더 방문해 머무르고 싶은곳입니다.
아이와 함께,연인과 함께 조용한곳에서 머무르고싶으신분들에게 추천 합니다.
사장님 세심한 배려와 친절이 여행길에 환영받는 느낌을주어 머무는동안 즐거웠습니다.감사했습니다.

설악산 자락에서도 바다가 보이는 산장

설악산 자락에 있는 숨은 보석같은 곳입니다. 산장같은 느낌으로 다양한 크기의 방이 있는데, 침구와 내부가 정말 깔끔하고 정갈해요. 월풀 욕조가 있는 방을 추천하고요, 2층에서는 바다와 일출도 보입니다. 주인장께서 정성을 다해 내주시는 아침식사와 커피도 최고입니다.

사진만 보고 예약할까말까 했는데 평이 좋아서 반신반의로 예약했는데 너무 좋았어요. 일반 호텔가도 이렇게까지 깨끗하다 못느끼는데 너무 깨끗하고 관리가 잘되어 있어서 놀랬네요. 방도 넓어서 불편함 전혀없고 조식도 너무 맛있게 잘먹었어요. 또 근처 놀러가게 된다면 무조건 여기서 재숙박 할꺼에요.

일단 주인아저씨가 너무 친절하고 젠틀하십니다.
구석구석 숙박객의 마음을 배려한 것들이 너무 많이 느껴져서 지금까지 가본 펜션 중 가장 고급의 서비스를 받은 느낌입니다. 가격대비 모든 공간이 넓고 예뻐요. 미국식 아침식사도 풍성하구요~

잘 쉬고 왔습니다.

조용한 휴식을 취하기에 아주 적합한 곳입니다. 특히 웬만한 펜션에서는 만나기 어려운 수준의 침구와 손수 방까지 배달해 주시는 아침식사는 하이엔드급의 숙소에 비해 전혀 손색이 없습니다. 다음에 설악산 근처에 갈 일 있으면 여기에 묵을 예정입니다.

시내에서는 조금 멀지만 그만큼 조용합니다. 주변에는 아무것도 없습니다. 하지만 산,바다 접하기에는 아주 좋은 위치입니다. 장인어른이 딱딱한 베게를 원하셨는데 사장님께서 두꺼운 인명록같은 책을 가져다 주셔서 재밌기도 하고 고맙기도 했습니다. 조그마한 것이라도 신경써주는 사장님의 배려가 느껴졌습니다. 아침조식은 예쁘고 훌륭한데 저한테는 너무 적어서 라면 끓여 먹었습니다.

친절한 사장님 감사합니다

펜션은 좀 낡은 듯도 했지만, 잘 관리되고 있어서 편안했습니다. 또 동네도 조용하고 멀리 바다도 보이고 좋았고요. 무엇보다도 친절하게 환대 받는 느낌을 주시는 사장님 덕분에 여행이 더욱 기분 좋았고요. 거품 목욕 할 수 있게 러쉬를 제공해주셔서 딸아이가 엄청 좋아했고, 아침마다 정성들여 프렌치토스트를 만들어주시는 것도 좋았습니다.
