I just checked out of Room 54 this morning May16,2026 and I have to report that there are ants in the room right next to the bed where I slept. I have pictures that I showed Adriano at the reception desk and I would attach them here if given the opportunity.

My daughter and I stayed here as a home base during 4 days in Venice and we will stay here again whenever we come back! Excellent helpful staff, clean rooms, and a relatively quiet location that was still near many things. A great version of the Italian hotel breakfast with a range of options for whomever might want something savory or sweet or in between.

The hotel was very comfortable.
I rented the smallest room, but still had a lovely view over the garden and the canal. The bathroom was spotless with tile walls and floor. Since the hotel has multiple comfortable sitting areas inside and outside in 2 gardens I didn’t miss a larger room. The location was perfect. Close enough to desirable areas to walk easily, but also not in the most touristy district. I could find groceries, and in the other direction, turn a corner and there was the Accademia with multiple nearby Vaporetto stops. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and on all night. The hotel is old in a charming way; hand carved panelling in the breakfast room, marble stairway, a 2nd floor grand drawing room with armor, but the rooms were updated. I loved having built in USB wiring. And the breakfast buffet covered full english to traditional italian, with choices for yoghurt fruit lovers. I appreciated being able to have unlimited American coffee- something I like for breakfast. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The staff were very helpful especially the front desk manager Adriano. It is dated as most things in Venice are with very rich history, but very clean, accommodating and within walking distance to the main attractions. Would recommend.

The only negative about our stay, was it was only one night! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and a view of the canal out front. Breakfast was excellent, and had something for everyone. The patio out front, and the garden out back were gorgeous! The dock out front meant we could conveniently catch our boat taxi literally outside the front door. Location was quiet, but near sites, restaurants and bars, and gelato! A 15 minute walk took us to St. Mark’s square. But the best thing? The staff! They saw us rolling our suitcases across the front courtyard, and ran outside to take them from us! We were way ahead of check-in time, and the staff were kind enough to store our bags. When we returned from our day, our bags were already in our room. After a long day of travel from the US, it was so nice to be so well taken care of!

The hotel is in a great location - very close to the Accademia vaporetto stop so easy to get around all areas of Venice. The junior suite had one small window with a view of the garden and was quite dated. Comfortable, quiet and very clean but somewhat dated. The outdoor spaces are lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was appreciated and offered a range of options. There is a coffee machine but the waiter will make you a proper Cappuccino if you ask. The person who made up our room did an excellent job every day. I would stay here again.

Charming hotel in the calm Dorsoduro district of Venice. The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes away from the Accademia bridge and 15 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Piazza San Marco. It's nice to not be in the center of all the hectic tourist action, and Pensione Accademia feels like a serene oasis in the otherwise busy and lively Venice. Additionally, don't skip out on the nice neighborhood amenities located close to this hotel, such as the tasty cichetti bars down the street, multiple museums, and delicious restaurants.

A special mention for the breakfast and the nice gentleman who is in charge of the breakfast bar! We did not initially intend to eat breakfast at the hotel, but it was hard for us to turn down the copious delicious and nutritious options at the breakfast bar.

As with any building in Venice, the hotel is quite old. This means that the walls are a little thin. As a result of this, our room was shaking when the guests who stayed above us were walking around in their room. This was our only feedback.

We loved this! The views were beautiful from our room. The garden was gorgeous from our room with a view of the canal. We were just getting sleep after our flight so the price was right. Our room was very basic, but the bathroom was new and pretty for the space. It would be so easy to uptick the room to be lovely. Staff was friendly and lobby is very Venetian looking. Superb location for the Accademia, Guggenheim, and Ca’ Rezzoncio. Great bakery for a Cornetto the Italian version of croissants at Pasticceria Toletta.

The location of the Pensione Accademia cannot be faulted, being close to the Accademia Gallery and vaparreto stop. It’s also within walking distance of several Venetian attractions. This was my third stay here. The service seemed less friendly than on previous visits. Reception staff were invariably grumpy. On the plus side they did arrange a breakfast basket for my early morning departure.

Convenient location, close to major attractions like St Mark’s Square. Also conveniently located to the Vaporetto stop (Accademia Bridge) that travels up and down the main canal. Another plus was that if you take a shared water taxi from the airport, it will drop you off right at the hotel. Staff were very helpful and hotel/room was clean. Complementary breakfast had good selection of food. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

A great place for us to stay while visiting Venice. We took the Vaporetta from the train station to the hotel. Once there, we were shown to a lovely room with the view of a narrower canal and the hotel garden. The location was very convenient. An easy walk to the Doge’s Palace, Guggenheim Museum, and Rialto Bridge. The people were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were ideal. This was really an ideal place to stay in Venice!

There is no lift in the hotel but staff can carry your luggage.

We loved our stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. The location is amazing with the canal views and the lovely gardens at the front and back. Breakfast is very good with many and varied choices. The room was spacious and comfortable. The path outside the hotel is quiet but it only takes a few minutes to walk to Piazza San Marco. The private gate onto the canal for where water taxis stop is a lovely extra!

Charming and elegant off the noisy tourist track area. Rooms were large and well appointed. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was abundant and delicious and the staff there helpful as well. Water taxi drop right outside. Walkable to 'touristy' areas/shopping but away from the hustle in the evenings. Found nice restaurants tucked away in the side streets. The hotel bar looked fun but I didn't partake. You may have to walk a ways and up steps to get to your room but worth it. Highly recommend.

The property is beautiful and the location is very quiet . He gardens are beautiful as there is a breakfast patio . They serve a breakfast every morning and it was very good . The staff is very helpful with all your questions and are very professional and willing to help . The room was very comfortable . We had a room on the canal side and we could open the windows for the scenery which was very nice . I only have two complaints . I do hope the owners listen and make a very small change that make a big difference in the quality of sleep for all your guests .

The pillows at this property are the worst . They are very flat and the property only provides you with two . For such a nice property they really need better pillows to insure guest a good nights sleep.

The blow dryer also needs to be upgraded to a better quality . The one available is the cheapest you can buy, if your a woman with hair that needs to be styled this gets the job done but not with quality styling .

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in your hotel and I would recommend your property to my friends .

We stayed here for three nights and it was lovely .

This hotel is perfect - away from the activity of St. Marks Square. Took us about 15 minutes to walk over. Close to Ponte dell'Accademia. Beautiful gardens, wonderful breakfast, sitting rooms. Our bedroom was so comfortable and overlooked the little canals with a glimpse of the Grand Canal. Highly recommend

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I had not told them in advance that three flights of stairs without an elevator would be a problem. Although they were full they went to enormous lengths to change my room.
Everything was good ... location, breakfast, garden, bar and location with partial vew of nearby Grand Canal.

Understated Elegance

The old palace offers many places to sit inside and outside. You're not simply confined to your room and a busy lobby. I wanted something with an old Venetian feeling and this certainly provided that. I loved the view of a minor canal from our window that led to the Grand Canal. Just so readers know, the Grand Canal is noisy. The pensione was calm. Amazingly, they had two garden, front and back and all landscaping was carefully tended. The breakfasts on the terrace were gracious and all staff were extremely cordial, Amazing feeling of being off the beaten path while actually being centrally located. You feel brought back to the times when the Russian Aristocracy stayed here.

The Pensione Accademia- Venice is a beautiful property. Hotel staff were very welcoming and so helpful. Our room was beautifully and thoughtfully appointed, large, overlooking the canal side. Hotel breakfast service was amazing. The hotel bar offered great drinks and light bites. Private taxi boat from the airport dropped us on the hotel dock and promptly picked us up at the hotel for return to the airport. Easy walking distance to major sites, like Doge's Palace and Bridge of Sighs. Hotel is steps from the Grand Canal. Very clean, no unpleasant smells from the canal and no mosquitoes to note. Will 100% stay there again. Great visit!

The staff weren’t rude but they weren’t friendly. Some staff were nice like the gentleman at the buffet who greeted us in the morning and asked how we enjoyed our food. We stayed for three nights and there were several times where we’d enter the hotel and the guy at the front desk would say nothing. Our shower wasn’t draining properly and we asked them to fix it. They didn’t so we recorded a video to show them and on our last night they fixed it with a meager, “sorry”.

On the bright side, the room is clean, location is great, and the buffet was lovely. We also left two things in the hotel and when we returned, they kindly went to our room to retrieve the items.

The property was beautiful with a lovely garden. Breakfast every morning had more then you could want or need. Comfortable bed and cozy quaint room ours had a lovely view of the canal. Lovely and friendly staff/ the front desk gentleman was very helpful, I just wish I remembered his name. He told us about a free tour to a glass blowing factory in Burano which was fabulous, with a free taxi ride, that was like a tour because it was such a beautiful way to see the city on the way to Burano, if you can take advantage of the free tour. Overall I can not say enough about our visit to Venice and our stay at this hotel. Only negative is if you have issues with stairs ask for a Downstairs room if possible. I will recommend to anyone going to Venice.

This is a beautiful property with wonderful staff. We had a room overlooking a small canal and about 100 feet from the grand Canal.
Air conditioning does not start until June. This means you need to open the windows and they can be noisy. The noise depends on who happens to be boating by the window.
Most of the time there was not a lot of noise it was somewhat random.
The courtyards two of them were nice.
Needless to say Google maps is a must to get around Venice.
We would definitely stay at this hotel, if we come back to Venice.
Breakfast was wonderful.
The staff was wonderful.
From the airport, we took a taxi and then walked to the hotel took a while to get used to the streets. To get to the train station the front desk called us a water taxi. This was convenient but expensive.
There were many really nice restaurants, nearby reasonably priced and a lot of options.
One night we had a bottle of wine and sat on the front patio and enjoyed the view and each other.

My partner and I had a lovely stay here. The location was perfect - it's near enough to the tourist areas but nice and quiet, tucked away at the end of a footpath so no passing foot traffic at night either. The staff were friendly and amenable - they fulfilled a cheeky request for a canal view as we couldn't find a specific option to book one on Expedia, they allowed us to check in 30mins early on arrival and held a backpack for us on our last day so we could explore for the day without luggage. Breakfast spread was lovely with hot and cold/sweet and savoury options for all needs. The decor was lovely and traditional without feeling stuffy, and our room was spotless on arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pensione Accademia

Had a wonderful stay. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The staff was helpful and friendly. Only thing to keep in mind- it’s right on a canal which is great for travel but boats are going early in the morning and can be a bit loud. Didn’t diminish my stay though!

This was my first time in Venice and I couldn't have picked a better hotel. It's a beautiful, historic building a few minutes from the Academia Art Gallery and vaporetto stop, as well as the Accademia Bridge. It's incredibly handy for the Grand Canal but is situated in a quiet district. The staff are all very pleasant, the rooms are clean and nicely furnished and the breakfast is first class. Highly recommended!

The service is superb, the location is good, and the setting is beautiful. It is close to two vaporetto stops, one of which is on the water taxi route to the airport. It is walkable to the Accademia and the Accademia Bridge over the Grand Canal.

The staff is super helpful. They helped carry my bags up and down from my room, provided silverware when I needed it for my takeout dinner, gave my a tray every morning so I could eat breakfast in my room, and answered all my questions. I really liked them.

My only issues were that the bed was very firm (though that is typical in Europe) and the shower very small (I could barely turn around and I'm an average size person).
