Room was large with a great view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Location was a very short walk from the private parking lot. Parking was painless and very easy. Bring your ticket with you and pay at the hotel for a discounted rate. Would stay there again.

Perfect location right in the city center but in a quiet street. The view of the river and landscape from our room was spectacular. The staff were attentive and friendly.
A plus was the wellness center in the basement. I had a Thai massage before leaving the hotel.

It’s a little bit inconvenient to come here by car(there is no parking lots and far from parking space). But I understand that it’s a policy for environment in Cesky Krumlov. Except that, everything is perfect to stay the hotel!

Amazing room with great views, bed and wine included in price ..

Bathroom was odd with a bath and in bath shower that was almost impossible to climb in and out of .. both I and my wife almost fell

Breakfast was wonderful and town was amazing

Felt like the recommended parking 10 minute walk away was far distant on arrival because it was dreary and my wife and I didn’t expect it to be distant or for there to be no valet parking option

Felt much closer when I went to get the car to checkout just because I knew by then

Town was amazing although restaurant quality wasn’t great and the lack of an in hotel restaurant was surprising (they recommend a sister hotel the old inn just down the street .. and talking of which giving us free drink coupons that when presented didn’t cover green tea was odd)

修道院の面影を残した内装や、絵画がたくさん飾られていたりと内部を観て回るだけで楽しめる素晴らしい施設でした。部屋もベッドが大きく、バスルームも広くて快適でした。朝食もとてもおいしかったです。立地も街の中心にある便利でした。
残念なところをあげるならば、アメニティはあまり充実していなかったのと、設備が古いだけあって便利な感じではなかったです。（コンセントの位置が不便、シャワーの温度調整がやや手間）コンシェルジュの方も不慣れなのか、チェックアウトにやたらと時間がかかったり、5つ星ホテルとしては雑な感じだったりはしました。値段が高くはなかったので、お値段相当という感じで不満には思いませんでしたが、あまり期待はしない方が良さそうです。

Located in a former Jesuit dormitory, the hotel provided the old-world feel I was hoping for. Our room, however, was a bit cramped as it was on the top floor, basically in the attic, with large beams creating what could be a hazard when getting up in the middle of the night. Even though the temperature outside was just above freezing, the room was comfortably warm. Breakfast was good, but when we wanted to order a glass of wine from the bar, we found that only the \"house\" wine was available by the glass; everything else on the wine menu was only by the bottle! Overall we had a good stay.

Great location. Room was nice and bed comfortable. Definitely has a historic feel and a little rough around the edges, but that adds to the charm. Renan at front desk was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average, but nice way to start the day. Very easy to walk to everything in Cesky Krumlov from the hotel. Pool was okay, small but nice to dip in. All other spa features are extra through the company that runs it in the basement. We wanted to enjoy the terrace but couldn’t find a time it was open. Overall a good choice for your stay in Krumlov.

A Gem in Bohemia

A charming hotel in Old Town within walking distance of the castle. Parking was a 5 minute walk over cobblestones so plan to take a bag you can carry. We stayed just 1 night so that was no problem for us. Cesky Krumlov was magical at night with many sites lit up. All the tourists leave about 4-5 pm so you have the town to yourself. Castle closes at 4 pm. Outstanding breakfast.

If you come by car this hotel is a very short walk from a parking lot. The breakfast was very good. The staff extremely nice. Great location to walk to sites. It is in an old building and I loved that they kept the look. My only real complaint is the bed is not very comfortable.

The hotel has an excellent location with a beautiful view terrace of the castle and the museum just across the street. Although, the actual hotel’s terrace which does not have a castle view but a view of the park, we never found open for our use. The hotel has an interesting past which also made the stay fun. The breakfast was fantastic and always well presented and stocked. The only complaint is, our room did not have a shower curtain or glass, so when showering the pressed wood vanity and sink would get soaked—they must have to replace the pressed wood vanities often? Would recommend this hotel.

, The views are fantastic and the staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast was good. However, this is not a 4 star hotel. The furniture, carpeting and drapery are old, and tattered. No shower in the bathroom. Just a tub with a shower handle. No shower curtain. Mismatched old tile and fixtures. The halls and side lobby are dark and felt creepy to us.

Upon checkin around 6 PM, porter has already gone home, around checkout porter is too busy to help.
We asked for water bottle and were shown a map how to get to the shop to buy it. We asked if they could replenish the fridge and they said since we were leaving today it will be done after we check out.
Rooms did not have a king bed and instead we got two twin beds combined together to form a bed.
Their parking (non existent) was supposedly full and we were directed to a public parking (10 minutes walk back).
Overall they ruined our experience of lovely Cesky Krumlov.
Stay away from this hotel.

Had a nice weekend stay there. Room was nice with 19th century feeling. View was very nice. Location was also very good.
For info, there is only a bath and not a shower and no shower curtain. I guess it fits the 19th century feeling. I have no issue at all with it i think it's very nice. But some people might have different opinion. I had a really nice relaxing stay

Extremely overpriced 3 star hotel at best

We stayed for 2 nights expecting a 5 star hotel experience. At best this hotel is an extremely overpriced 3 star hotel. The floors in the room looked like they hadn't been remodeled or painted since the 1800s. The floor was full of sand and little rocks when we got there. There were no amenities to speak of other than hand soap that was used for both the sink and the bathtub. There was no curtain for the bathtub, and therefore after every shower the floor was soaked. We paid extra for breakfast which was decent, but nothing extra and all of the food was bland. The first day they sat us at a table and while we were getting our food sat someone else at our table, and then the next day we sat on the terrace where there wasn't the same service of coffee as indoors. Also there seems to be a hot tub in the pictures of the property. There isn't a hot tub. Overall I've been to 3 and 4 star hotels with much more class and elegance than this place, and would never recommend it to anyone who wants a stylish relaxing stay.

Don’t be put off by any first impressions; if I hadn’t already paid, on my first encounter of staff at this hotel, I would’ve left...so glad I stayed as things improved markedly after I had a little chat with some about just normal aspects of hospitality and service I’d receive in Australia in even the meanest of places... - however the town of Cesky Krumlov itself was a VERY interesting experience all round - especially the ‘Tourist Information Service’ in main square... Because it’s such a beautiful place and a tourist hotspot, 99% of ANY ‘service’ people don’t even try to help, show ANY cheerfulness or NORMAL aspects of concern for humanity and, in fact, are downright rude & even appear hostile to friendly tourists such as myself (a palliative care nurse!!). I’m so glad the place was beautiful, however, at my age and stage of life experience, I KNOW that, in ANY other part of the world, they would lose their jobs! - unless they’re related to the boss! I think the Mayor needs to do an accountability survey and change the fact that most English-Speaking tourists I spoke with - from China to India to Germany to USA to UK (& Australia & NZ) were just almost speechless with the roughshod way they were treated as people, let alone as tourists in a town where tourism is the lifeblood and MAJOR source of income for most people. As an objective parallel, instead of thinking you were at a Tourism Information Centre, you would think you were being registered for entry into prison!

A Day in Cheney Kromlov

We arrived late around 9pm and were all tired...the hotel lobby was quiet and we didn’t receive a particularly warm welcome from the lady reception. The elderly porter was particularly helpful despite not speaking a word of English!
The rooms were generous and the hotel was lavishly decorated in a medieval manner. A genuine effort to give us visitors a taste of what it might have been to live in those days...
Located towards the top of the valley, beautiful panoramic views from our rooms. A short and easy walk to the town Center had plenty of shops, little alleys and historical buildings to keep one preoccupied! They have their own parking service and facility.👍
We had a very interesting and memorable stay in Chesny Krumlov...

great location however staff unfriendly and in some cases just rude. Hotel caters for large groups with the result there is nothing personal about the experience. Terrace which could be a lovely place to sit ,relax and have a drink overlooking the river has limited shade and no waiter service. On a summers day it would have been nice to also be able to utilise this space to enjoy your breakfast. . Overall disappointed with the hotel and would consider alternatives smaller personal options in the area if I chose to visit again.

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed the experience. The hotel was easy to access, and in the middle of the old town, everything was walkable from the hotel. The history of the building was very interesting and the interior was decorated accordingly, it was so much fun exploring the hotel. The room was fantastic and clean, with a service drink tray (water, coffee and tea) and the great view. It was nice that they have the dedicated customer parking area (the rate was fair too). The breakfast was early and plenty to start the day, we were able to take it on the balcony outside of the dining room. The only problem from our experience was that as a large hotel, they had gigantic tour groups and the staffs got overwhelmed taking care of them. When the tour groups hit the breakfast or dinner, it was so chaotic and crowded, we had to wait until they were gone. Other than that, everything was fun and enjoyable, this hotel definitely enhanced our experience in the Cesky Krumlov. I would come back to the hotel next time and highly recommend it.

This is as good as you get in this Český Krumlov. It is a former monastery and has an old world vibe. The furniture is aged and the floors creak. That is what you are paying for. Staff was helpful but very busy.

Feel the local charm, with timeless comfort

Wonderful time -- beautiful place to spend 1 to 1.5 days. And this is the hotel to stay at! Travel extensively internationally -- this hotel has local charm, and is very comfortable. And you are right in the old town, so just step out the door and start to explore! Only head's up is that the WiFi really didn't work in our room, but could connect fine in the lobby. Staff was really helpful.

Good hotel not so good service

Great location, comfortable stay, but service was not so wonderful. First of all the front desk had no smile, and insisted that they have to see my booking confirmation, confirmation number doesn't do and they have to see it physically, and no early check in was possible. My friend and I wanted to book a spa and it was impossible despite the spa ads all over the hotel, they had 1 person doing the message, so while she is working with a client, we had no way of finding her to book our appointment, plus front desk says they can't help. Any how, decoration was wonderful, every piece of furniture had a history to it, just the service was not what I would expect for a five star hotel.

Good location with splendid view of the Cesky Krumlov Castle. Hotel was a former 16th century monastery, our huge room was on the top floor and had great view of the castle (from the bathroom window). It's location is great, easy to walk to all the sights and restaurants.

Beware - Do not book this hotel.

I booked a room through Hotels.com and received a confirmation. Upon arrival I was informed the Hotel Ruze was full and instead we had to stay at an inferior sister hotel - no option was given. A refund was requested given the significant price differential between the two hotels and after much haggling was offered (20 euros). I pointed out the far greater difference in quoted rates and was then promised a refund commensurate with this difference. To date this refund has still not been forthcoming.
Accepting a booking knowing the hotel was full and refusing to refund the difference versus the alternative accommodation at best smacks of gross incompetence. At worst I believe it to be fraud. And this not to mention the considerable stress endured.

An odd hotel - but maybe I am use to more corporate offerings. Bathroom was old fashioned and below par for a 5 star hotel. Staff were dressed in medieval consume. Bottled water only offered on the first night. Swimming pool was free to use but we had to pay for using the hot tub next to the pool. No air conditioning so room was rather warm.

We can not say enough great things about this hotel and their staff. We spent 2 nights there. The setting of the hotel is perfect for Cesky and the location doesn't get any better. The decor of the hotel, the furnishings, room decor, and the beautiful outdoor terrace transport you back in time and made our stay in Cesky even more magical. The entire staff was wonderful, and the breakfast buffet was really good!!! We definitely recommend this hotel and on our next trip to Cesky we will not even look for any other hotel, this one is perfect!

Atmosphere and Friendly Staff

This hotel is rated outstanding for its personable service and atmosphere. We needed an elevator and parking facilities. Hotel Ruze offers both, which are difficult to find in Cesky Krumlov. On the map the hotel appears to be a little far from the center of town, but it is an easy walk throughout the entire tourist area. We are very grateful to the staff for helping us - in English - to locate the hotel from the highway as our navigator had taken us down the wrong road. This hotel has not been recently updated, but the furnishings and creaky floors lend character. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.

Outstanding hotel. Staff was helpful, even on unusual issues like how to rearrange travel plans to make a connection. Hotel restaurant was legitimately good, and breakfast was fabulous. If I should ever happen to return to Cesky Krumlov, I will stay here.

Very disappointing stay

As a 5-star hotel, it is very disappointing. I arrived the hotel at 5pm, and check-in to my room, when I opened my room door for 1 min (as I'm struggling to pull my luggage in), suddenly a man (I assume is the maintenance man) walks out from the room, not saying anything as nothing happen and leave the room. I asked the reception in the next morning what is happening, the reception just said probably I check-in too early (5pm is too early?) and the maintenance man is still fixing stuff in the room, and since they cannot speak English, so he just walks away. After this, I asked the receptionist where to have breakfast, she said something which I don't understand (most likely in Czech), I asked her once more, again she reply in non-English, only until the 3rd time that I asked again, she replied \"Dining room\", I'm really wordless as I also don't know where is the dining room.
Moreover, I booked to have a dress-up costumes for dinner, the staff that is helping to dress-up is so unfriendly, I understand they can't speak English, but still, the attitude they treat guest is really disappointing, if you didn't pick the costume that they choose for you, they just show a very annoying face.
In a conclusion, I really don't understand how can this hotel being rated as a 5-star hotel besides the fact that it is one of the castle hotel. The service they provided is only similar to a 3-star standard.

I am only allowed 1500 characters,and there is no WAY that is enough to do justice to how wonderful Hotel Ruze is.
Everything--just everything,gets 10/10 gold stars all the way.
Our room was clean and comfortable and looked out over the river.(aircon was great too).
We ate on their terrace the first night.Food,wonderful.Service,wonderful.View,wonderful.
Themed `Ye Olde` interior with appropriately dressed dressed mannequins.Great.

Disappointed

We really didn't like this hotel, ended up leaving after 1 night.
It's an old monastery with a lot of religious decorations which is not our taste.
The room had a smell to it and was like an obstacle course.
The terrace of the hotel was beautiful and dinner was great but breakfast disappointing.
The service during dinner was excellent.

Absolutely amazing night stay!

This was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had, from the very start! On the way to Cesky Krumlov, our bus broke down on a random street. We called the hotel and they sent someone right away to come pick us up- free of charge. Upon arrival to the hotel, they give information about the town, great places to eat, a free welcome drink, and discounts to the local restaurant!
The room was incredible, there was a beautiful view of the city, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and it made us feel like a king and queen

Medieval weekend in hotel Ruze, Cesky Krumlov.

This hotel is full of historical, medieval charm. The rooms are big
and comfortable. Don’t know why people complain about the quality of
beds, the matrass is absolutely fine, the bedding is clean and
matching the décor.

We got a welcome drink for free, spa (swimming pool) is complementary
and we also had a water bottle for free to our disposal.

Liked the staff, they were all dressed like medieval heroes in very
nice and historical dresses.

The assortment during the breakfast is good; you basically get all you
need, including fruits, vegetables, juices, ham, cheese, omelet,
sausages etc.

I would advise mainly the couples to stay at this hotel because its
very romantic and beautiful. You will feel like prince and princess in
a medieval style hotel.

Some Asians will make you smile because they love this place. They
love places well
known for UNESCO heritage.

There are a lot of groups of tourists going in the hotel, but they are
nice and funny, walking in historical costumes around dining area.

Cute in Cesky

We stayed at the Ruze a couple of days between New Year's and Christmas. The hotel - located in an old Jesuit School - is fantastic. Cesky Krumlov itself is adorable, and given that it snowed the entire time we were there, it felt as if we were staying inside a beautiful snow globe. The restaurant, staff, and spa services at the hotel were quite good as well and everything was reasonably priced. Given that the hotel is in an extremely old building, there are a few quirks - like some of the lights didn't work for a few hours one night - but the quirks don't take away from the enjoyment of staying there. It does look a bit like Medieval Times with all the coats of armor and kitch, but the entire town looks like that, so it isn't necessarily a drawback.

Thanksgiving in ČK

Awesome room. Awesome service. And the staff prepared a perfect Thanksgiving dinner for eight friends and family with less than 18 hours notice. Don't know where the turkey and stuffing came from but it was great and there is nothing like American style Thanksgiving meal in a former monastery Thanksgiving from the 16th century.

Wonderful Stay

We stayed at the beginning of the low season. The hotel was less than half booked. All services we still available including an outstanding breakfast. Wonderful hotel that did not cut corners. Will definitely return.

Not really a 5 star hotel service

night desk receptionist was helpless and attitude was terrible. We felt like we had bothered her peaceful night shift as we reported a problem of hot water supply.

however, the other staffs as well as the lady hotel manager were nice and helpful.

A medieval experience...

Hotel is in a good position, staff were very friendly and helpful especially Reception. A nice hotel with a medieval feel throughout including staff dressing in medieval costumes. A bit creepy with all the wax characters and if you enjoy a hard bed - you will love the place.

Trip back in Time with Modern Comforts

This hotel is in a perfect place to explore this lovely medieval town. The building maintains a wonderful medieval feel EXCEPT in the bathrooms which are wonderfully modern and the air conditioning which was welcome after the heat outside.
